HYPE: In The Land Of Women (Real World/Fantasty Mod)

2008 was the year the wrestling world would change forever. After all the scandal, the drugs, the arrests, the O.D.'s and one very tragic incident involving a well known WWE performer, the world had finally had enough. Fans began to turn on the wrestlers, governments came down hard on the big companies. Before long, it had been passed...nearly world wide...MEN had been BANNED from inring competition. So it was up to women to take over. Althoug it took a year or so for fans to catch on, but before you know it some of the companies that were doing well in 2008, they're doing well in 2010 now. Be it WWE (Without Vince or Shane, and now known as Women's Wrestling Entertainment) or the NWA, which changed it's name to WWA (Women's Wrestling Alliance) and has promotions in every major wrestling area.

Hell, even TNA is doing ok (although the company was sold to Playboy Entertainment and is now known as T*ts And Ass Wrestling), they got their little cult following and a tv show on PlayboyTV. The question is how will this all play out? Will WWE continue to rule the wrestling world with it's Sports Entertainment approach? Or will the more traditional rebranded NWA (WWA) take back the throne it once had? Let's not forget about SHIMMER, which is doing better than ever. Hell, maybe the unthinkable will happen....will Carmen Electra's Naked Women's Wrestling League lead the way? Probably not.

Over 500 of the top women in the business are will appear in this mod, and just to make it more enjoyable and ensure better playability, over 100 CVerse women appear aswell. All CVerse women are independant however, some have been aged down slightly, but all of them are either Independent Names, or below on the popularity chart. But the possibilities are plenty.

Want to take WWE to even greater heights? Maybe bring WWA to the top of the world? Take PWWA in Australia and try to make them a global powerhouse (How hard would that be...like, REALLY HARD!) Or how bout an independent fed? Fill your roster with unknown CVerse women and teach these real world girls how it's done! Maybe AAA in Mexico is what you fancy (Now Angelic Angels Administration), the choice it yours.

This mod is well in the works, and I hope to get a BETA out in the next week or two. With the exception of workers, gimmicks, locations and storylines...I'm starting from pretty much scratch. The last 2 years of wrestling history didn't happen. Women you may of never heard of, could now be WWE Superstars or even National Icons! Bios are being redone, popularity reconfigured. Which independent stars are now national stars? Time will tell.

I hope to get a few people out there excited about this mod. BobInc's Breaking Barriers was a fantastic mod, and he appears to be doing it for 2010 too, which is great. Hopefully this can work as a nice compliment to it, and between the two mods, any fan of women's wrestling will be able to get everything they could want out of TEW.

Ok, I've got a desperate plea to any logo makers out there. I've searched high and low, but I can't find any sort of logo for the Japanese Joshi promotion ICE Ribbon. If anyone could either provide a logo, or make one...I'd be highly appreciative.

So far I'm up to 26 promotions, I'd like that too be 27. There will also be 6-8 to be debuted promotions. I think that should be good for the beta release.

You said men are banned from inring competition NEARLY worldwide, does it mean there will be a region where men can still wrestle?

Not in the initial release. But if people seem to want that addition to the mod, it could be added. A place like Australia or Europe being the "renegades" and still allowing men to wrestle. It would provide an added option in the game, take a small male wrestling company and try to compete in a world dominated by women. I would just make some lower and mid tier guys active in that region of the world. But the initial release will be women only. The mod will start on January 1, 2011. So from mid 2008 to the end of 2010, all that history is being made up by me. All fueds, rosters, title histories and the like are being done from scratch. Alot of work, So initially I'll just be focusing on the women.

Secondly: The mod is progressing, though there is still much work to be done. To build the hype, I'll be releasing company profiles throughout the week. They will take a look at what has happened in the two and a half years between mid 2008 and 2011. They will also feature profiles on the top members of each roster, not the whole roster...but the main players in this alt-world. WWE will be first, followed by WWA & SHIMMER. Then some of the non-U.S. companies like AJWPW, SENDAI, AAA, QOC, PWWA & MPW.

Release is looking to be about 2 weeks, maybe less.

Now I present a very quick overview of the how the world is shaping out.

There are 29 promotions thus far, and 810 workers. Tests will determine is that number of workers is sufficient, or alot of "Virtually Unknowns" will have to be made up.

The promotions thus far (in order of their game world ranking) are:

Women's Wrestling Entertainment: Global - Based in New England in the U.S. WWE are the #1 company in the world, and are a "Sports Entertainment" Company.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: International - The #2 company around, WWA is the NWA reborn and rebranded. Based in America, they take a more Traditional stance, while blending in some of the modern entertainment style.

All Japan Womens Pro Wrestling National - #3 in the world, AJWPW is a powerhouse in Japan. Without question the top Joshi company in the world today. They are, ofcourse, based in Japan.

SHIMMER Women Athletes Cult - Being the top Women's company at the time of the conversion, SHIMMER was hit HARD with talent thefts by WWE and WWA. Have rebounded however, and now the American Company is building some momentum and looking move higher than it's #4 spot.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: America Regional - The Developmental home of WWA, WWA: America is the biggest of the promotions operating under the WWA Banner. Currently number 5 and based in Hollywood, CA.

Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance Cult - Very popular, but has the misfortune of being very isolated, running out of Australia. However, due the respect that it's owner, Madison Eagles, has garned in the last few years, it's never had to worry about a lack of talent to use on their shows.

T*ts N Ass Wrestling Regional - Owned by Playboy, TNA may never be mainstream due to it's content, but with the Playboy machine behind it...it has managed to due quiet well. Operates in Southeast America. #7 in the world.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: Canada Cult - Canada's top wrestling promotion is another of the WWA bannered promotions around the world. Currently #8, they are home to Canada's best.

Angels Angelico Y Administracion Cult - AAA operates out of Mexico and is the #9 promotion in the world, features the high paced and high energy style of Luche' Libre.

Jersey All Pro Wrestling Regional - Operating out of the Tri-State area in America, JAPW is one of the top indy companies in the world. This is one promotion people want a part of, it's widely known that WWE & WWA both regularly scout their events. #10 in the world.

ChickFight Regional - #11 with a hard right cross, ChickFight is no nonsense pro wrestling, very popular in it's homeland of The United Kingdom, ChickFight is very popular with tape traders and downloaders.

Queens of Chaos Regional - Operated out of Europe, QOC is another promotion that tends to focus abit more on the sport side of wrestling. Currently #12.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: Japan Small - Fairly popular in Japan, the #13 promotion is a solid promotion, though very far off from being able to compete with AJWPW.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: Australia Regional - WWA's Australia sister promotion, WWA Australia hopes to one day catch PWWA and overtake Australia. They use their association with WWA and the working agreements with the other WWA Bannered promotions to bring in talent from around the world. Currently #14.

Sendai: Regional - The #15 promotion in the world operates out of Japan and features more athletic Joshi wrestling.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: Europe Regional - The European sister of WWA may be behind Europes Queen on wrestling, QOC, but that hasn't deterred WWA Europe one bit. #16

Women's Extreme Wrestling Regional - #17 with a chair shot delivered by a scantly clad female is WEW. Though they've dropped the second name of Women's Erotic Wrestling, they still incoperate some of the softcore porn to go along with the hardcore wrestling.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: United Kingdom WWA:UK is the #18 promotion in the world, and operates out of Nothern UK area. Like so many of the other WWA bannered promotions, they use their affiliation with WWA to bring in talent from all over.

Xtreme Pro Wrestling: Regional - Another American promotion to operate out of The Tri-State area, XPW was bought by Big Vision Entertainment and is booked and run by Shane Douglas. Douglas hopes to use his popularity in the Tri-State to topple WEW as the regions premiere hardcore promotion, ranked #19.

Naked Women's Wrestling League Regional - NWWL features women wrestlers who are....well, naked! If you ever wanted to know what that stripper would look like wrestling with another stripper, this is your type of show. Although surprisingly popular, due to Carmen Electra's fame, the product pretty much guarantees they won't get much bigger. ranked #20.

Women's Wrestling Alliance: Mexico Regional - Currently #21, WWA Mexico just can't seem to put a dent in AAA popularity. Features a mix of luche libre and foreign wrestlers from other WWA Territories.

MAXIMUM Pro Wrestling Small - Located in Ontario, Canada, the brainchild of Scott D'Amore has it's little niche, only time will tell if it can expand it's product to a higher level. #22

Chaotic Women Small - This New England Based promotion is mainly populated with local talent, though occasional "Names" are brought in. #23

Florida Championship Wrestling Small - FCW is the developmental territory of WWE and opperates out of the Southeast. #24 in the world, it's mainly due to them being out of operation for awhile, now back up and running FCW hopes to use it's relationship with WWE to gain popularity.

American Women Athletes Small - Al Snow's promotion serves one purpose, to train and groom the stars of tomorrow. Good luck finding anyone over 26 on the roster, it may not happen. #25 in the world

ICE Ribbon Small - This Japanese Joshi promotion also caters to training the stars of tomorrow, with a roster of girls sometimes as young as 14-15, ICE Ribbon is Emi Sakura's promotion and is aimed at teaching the next generation of Joshi stars. #26

Babes of Sin City Local - More of a show than an event, BSC runs out of Las Vegas and is all about pageantry and glamor. Ranked #27

Dangerous Women of Wrestling Local - Also run out of Vegas, DWW blends Extreme Wrestling, with hot babes and comedy skits to appease the juvenile, or atleast those with a love of bad wrestling, bad skits and boobs. DWW bottoms out, it is our last promotion, the #28 ranked promotion in the world.

There ya have it. A quick rundown of the game world so far, I've mainly been organizing the biggest promotions thus far, so if any has a suggestion about a promotion you would like to see. Just provide a link to any info you have on them and I'll do my best to represent them well.

Any thoughts/suggestions/feedback is welcomed. Thanks for reading.

Might need to boost your worker totals up. I dont think 800 will give you alot of Indy workers. I know this is posed to be one of those what if mods based off real life wrestling but you might have to make it more fantasy based(non real) life workers mixed with real life. I know you have added the C Verse women for fun but you might have to create even more if you want a good amount of free agents.

Nice idea! But no PGWA or NEO? :(

Maybe not. You have to remember the game's features. Predatory hiring often means any promotion with an aggressive owner will sign and stash as many decent workers as they can. Adding more workers sounds like a good idea on paper but may not be in practice. Most of the workers for promotions below high Cult (with existing relationships) or National are going to be sharing a lot of workers. So with too many free agents, you wind up with a lot of dead weight (or "projects" as I like to call them) that rarely, if ever, get signed.

On a side note, ICE Ribbon might be kinda hard to simulate. The game doesn't allow active workers below 16 (though maybe if they have contracts before game start...).

I just have one small request: LEAVE KISU ALONE! :) I can guess that Lacrima Christi is going to be a top name in Europe but Kisu's small potatoes. Leave her be! :p

I'll look into PGWA & NEO and try to add them and do them proud for you. Lacrima is a top star in Queens of Chaos, her and Eden Black are two of Europe & The U.K.'s top stars. Kisu is an "Independent Name" in the game.

The game starts in 2011, so I just may have to age some of the ICE Ribbon roster a year, but it should work out fine. Plus any created characters will mostly be younger women who work for local promotions. It makes sense in the context of the game, seeing as IF women's wrestling ever did take over world dominance, it would be very likely that alot of women who might not otherwise join wrestling would.

Some will be created, but I don't think awhole lot will need to be. Alot of the smaller promotions and the WWA promotions do share alot of talent. All dojos are set to train women only, and new characters is set to High and to be begin creating new characters 6 months into game start. So say your 3 years into the game, the big promotions did a chunk of hiring, and add in those who retire, the middle promotions would sing the women working in the smaller promotions, and the smaller promotions would sign the "to be debuted" and automatically created workers. I think it should all work out.

Do you have WMMA 2? Might be a good way of getting more workers in, since there's a ton of women in there.

I don't, maybe I'll have to dl a demo if there is one, and look at the database for ideas.

My project right now is looking for "real world" women to ensure that as many people as possible have pictures assigned to them. I'm also looking to have a bunch of random women pics that will be entitled "created 1, Created 2" and so fourth, that way game created women can have pictures assigned to them via the editor. I getting online "models" for the women with higher sex appeal and MMA/Boxing women for those who are more psychically intimidating/less traditionally attractive. Tho there are those who are both, Gina Carano comes to mind. I also added Kim Couture to the gameworld, so you have a fued with Lisa Marie AKA Tara/Victoria already in order, lol.

Yes i think your right.Game will work out fine.

Will the big feds have enough workers to fill out a 2 hour tv time slot.If you have shows set for that long.

Both WWE & WWA have 2 shows a week. One 2 hour "A" show, and a one hour "B" show each. Each has around 50 active roster members, not including Agents, Managers, Personality's, Announcers or Referees. Both companies have more than the recommended minimum that appears in the editor. Plus each will have about 2 dozen in developmental. Add to that the fact that the game world is not nearly complete yet. I'd estimate I get about 5% of the world done per day, spending a few hours a night working on it. I'm probably about 35-40% done now, which is why I mentoined now is the perfect time for suggestions.

Keeping at the 5% a day average, it would take 12-13 days to complete the game world and be ready for release, which is pretty close to the 2 week timetable I gave the other day. I have the top 5 American promotions rosters pretty much done, each has a large enough roster to be playable right now. It's the 20+ smaller promotions that are being worked on now. That may seem like alot, but other than nailing down title histories for each promotion it's actually alot less work. Each one has a much smaller roster, and some girls will be edited once, then assigned to 2,3 in some cases 4 differant promotions. So it's much less work to get a small promotion done, than one of the bigger ones.

Title histories are the only really difficult part left, it's mainly because I want the histories to match the new bios that the workers have, new bios have been entered touching on what they've been up to since the new world started. the WWE profile will be done either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how late I'm up.

Well, if those two are in, have you considered Cyborg and maybe LaTasha Marzolla? The latter at least has wrestling in her history (she was on a dev deal with WWE years ago).

Again, that has more to do with mechanics. If promotions have long(ish) matches in their product (like 10-15-20 or 15-21-30), they don't need as many workers because they can fill the time easily already.

I thought it did this year? Sure I remember reading something about that in the Developer's Journal...

You misunderstood. The game stores workers as young as I think 5 but they can't debut before 16. Meaning, you could have two workers start dating in 2010 and have a baby in 2011 and put the baby in the DB for 2016...but the baby can't enter the world before 2027. Here's the quote:

Under 16: Workers can now be added to the game world down to as low as 5 years old. There are checks and blocks in place to stop odd things happening (like them getting married) and so that there stats don't become incredible due to the "extra time" they get in the game world.

It was the 'extra time' part which confused me, thought that suggested they could become active before they were 16. Anyway, you're the expert. :) (Or one of the experts, I should say, in case I offend Derek...)
