DRAW The draw sets up a rematch.

Steve Flash vs Jim Force

The numbers game is too much, Force will need more help.

I think Rayne will take this to set up another little fued.

Sammy the Shark vs Jared Johnson

I always look at Sammy as another Rich Money wannabe.

Southern Comfort © vs Lee Wright and Honest Frank – NYCW Tag Team Championship

The Pink Stranger took the words right outta my head with the whole Moguls as future challengers for the tag titles.

Donnie J © vs Steven Parker – NYCW Empire Championship

Parker could give him a run for his money, but you need a face champ if the Gas Housers ever aim for the title any time soon

Steve Flash vs Jim Force

Flash needs to win this if you want a credible contender for Donnie J

Rayne Man vs Roderick Remus

I can see you having Remus win this because Rayne Man signed with RIPW or something, but it's too likely for Rayne man to get a win here

Sammy the Shark vs Jared Johnson

Jared's moving up, Sammy's moving down

Southern Comfort © vs Lee Wright and Honest Frank – NYCW Tag Team Championship

Not time for them to drop the titles yet, esp to Wright

Donnie has had a long reign, I just don't think Parker is quite ready to be the figurehead yet.

Steve Flash vs Jim Force

So Flash can challenge next month

Rayne Man vs Roderick Remus

More over = win

Sammy the Shark vs Jared Johnson

Sammy's training begins

Southern Comfort © vs Lee Wright and Honest Frank – NYCW Tag Team Championship

Just getting over the flu, so the show will be delayed until Friday as I have to catch up on some real life things first. whatever is going around right now kicked my Butt, first time I have missed work in over three years

NYCW – Rumble in the Bronx – Week 2 February 2011

Pre-Show

10 Man Battle Royal

Our Golden ticket even for our first ever sell-out is a 10 man Battle Royal that features a slew of young talent along with some top guys. Rayne Man and Bailey were the final two after Cage and Kentucky Bill eliminated each other after a flying body press by Cage carried them both over the top. Honest Frank, who was coming out for the meet and Greet tried to interfere, but Rayne Man elbowed him off the ring apron, then ducked and caught Black Hat Bailey with a back body drop over the top rope as he charged in with a clothesline.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man won a battle royal in 10:12. The final four competitors also included Black Hat Bailey, Roger Cage and Kentucky Bill, with Black Hat Bailey being the final elimination.

Rating: D

Our standard meet and greet with select Wrestlers followed and this month’s group included Steven Parker, Honest Frank, Jim Force, Roger Cage, Edward Cornell, Remmy Honeyman, Roger Monteiro and myself, in what was once again a popular segment.

Southern Comfort © vs Lee Wright and Honest Frank – NYCW Tag Team Championship

Wright and Frank are waiting as Southern Comfort take their sweet time coming out as Wild Eyed Southern Boys by 38 Special plays. When they do arrive all hell breaks loose with everybody going at it in the ring. Eventually Wright and Bill go to the floor brawling around the ring and Triple D and Honest Frank start it off. Diamond takes Frank’s measure early with his usual fast start, but once again wears down as Frank resorts to his bag of dirty tricks. Triple D tags Bill in, but the youngster gets caught in the wrong corner and takes a beating, prompting Diamond to storm the ring and try and rescue him. As referee Michael Bull pushes Triple D back to his corner, Kentucky Bill surprises Honest Frank with a small package, but with Bull’s back turned, Wright rolls Bill over reversing the pinning predicament. As Bull turns around and slides in for the count, Frank places his feet on the ropes for good measure and before Diamond can make the save we have new Tag Team Champions!

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Lee Wright and Honest Frank defeated Southern Comfort in 12:01 when Honest Frank defeated Kentucky Bill by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. Lee Wright and Honest Frank win the NYCW Tag Team titles.

Frank and Wright show off their new titles for the crowd, enjoying the moment as the crowd responds with a shower of debris, prompting Frank to grab a microphone. “Tonight, we have confirmed several things are true. One, these hallowed belts will now adorn the waists of a deserving duo for the first time in over a year! Two, you idiots out there booing and throwing things don’t appreciate quality, which is clearly evidenced by the fact that most of you have wives so fat you would have to buy two extra tickets if you brought them to the show. And last, but not least……” Frank pulls out a crossword puzzle booklet and opens it up “We learned a fifteen letter word for losers is S-o-u-t-h-e-r-n C-o-m-f-o-r-t. Hey, it's only the truth people, and as Southern Comfort found out tonight……….The truth hurts!”

Sammy the Shark vs Jared Johnson

Sammy starts off fast against Johnson using his experience to gain the early advantage, but Johnson has shown his time under the tutelage of Roger Cage has paid off as he starts to anticipate Sammy’s moves and soon has the Shark on the ropes. It is clear that Sammy, isolated, angry and desperate is a man on the brink of cracking after the events of the last month. Johnson scores a leg whip take down and quickly goes for the Carolina Crossface, which Sammy barely escapes by grabbing the ropes. From here he snaps, catapulting Johnson through the ring ropes by grabbing his tights, then following him to the floor and slamming his head into the ring steps. With Johnson badly shaken, Sammy then grabs a Chair and goes to work, slamming the hard steel into Johnson’s back time and again until Michael Bull has no choice but to disqualify him as Johnson lies motionless on the cold cement floor.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Jared Johnson defeated Sammy the Shark in 12:46 by disqualification.

Rayne Man is backstage with me, practically begging for an added stipulation in his match with Roderick Remus tonight. “Terry…..Remus cost me a shot at the title last month and I don’t know why he felt like he needed to stick his nose in my business, but I want him to pay. I’m laying it all out on the table Terry, in a Cage, a Dog Collar match, I don’t care………Just please give me something!”

Me: “Rayne, please…..Begging doesn’t do a thing for you. I’ll tell you what, I’ll give you a stipulation match, but you’re going to owe me at some time in the future.”

Rayne: “You got it anything; just give me a chance to hurt that punk!”

Me: “Very well, since you want to lay everything out on the table……Tonight you and Remus will face off in a table match!!”

Rayne Man pumps his fist and walks to the ring, high fiving fans as he goes, who all seem to like the idea of seeing some wood splinter. I smile knowing that agreeing to return one of my favors may be akin to selling ones soul to the devil.

Rayne Man vs Roderick Remus – Tables Match

It is soon apparent why Remus got involved in Rayne’s match with Parker at Rush Hour as he comes to the ring accompanied by the Princess of NYCW Persephone. She is her usual annoying self at ringside and get’s into Rayne Mans head early, allowing Remus to land some high impact moves, including a big splash off the turnbuckle that leaves Rayne Man stretched out in ring center. Remus sets up a table outside the ring and then hoists Rayne Man up on his shoulder in an attempt to slam him over the ropes and through the table. Rayne Man wiggles free, blasts Remus with some forearms, and then whips him across the ring into the ropes. As he rebounds Rayne Man sets up a back drop near the ropes, but Persephone senses the danger and pulls the table to the other side of the ring as Remus takes the back drop and flies to the floor where the table had once been. Rayne Man then sets a second table up in the corner, slides Remus back into the ring and hooks him up for a suplex, Persephone runs in and sprays Rayne Man in the face with Hair Spray, blinding him. Remus picks Rayne Man up and prepares to Power bomb him through the Table, put Rayne Man, still unalbe to see turns the move into a Hurricanrana and sends Remus flying into the table set up in the corner, which explodes on impact giving Rayne the win.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man defeated Roderick Remus in 14:07 when Roderick Remus was put through a table. During the match we also had Persephone run in and attack Rayne Man.

Whistler comes out and climbs into the ring as the ring crew cleans up the table fragments from the last match. “Gas House Gang, just like the oppressed colonists rose up against the tyrannical English Government more than 230 years ago, a new movement is welling here in NYCW. Oh say can you see………………The Madness that’s coming?” Before Whistler can get another word out Black Hat Bailey slides into the ring from behind and levels him with the Ring Bell.

Black Hat Bailey stands over Whistler, who is out cold, with a sneer on this face. “Oh say can you see………..Stars? Hahahaha, Let me tell you something Whistler, no actually, let me tell all or you in attendance something and you can relay the message when your hero wakes up. I have been hearing about the madness and the revolution and the price of tea in China since this washed up Bum was retired by Steve Flash. Well, to quote a song from the 70’s, when even I was young….I ain’t seen nothing yet!! In fact….Until Whistler decides to join the Tea Party, or the Sarah Palin fan club and quit getting involved in the Gas House Gang’s affairs, all anybody is going to see.” Bailey points to Whistler’s motionless body “Is a whole lot more of this!”

Roger Cage vs KC Glenn

Persephone appears to be building quite the collection of clients as she returns to the ring with one of NYCW’s new signings KC Glenn. The youngster surprises Cage with some early offense, but experience will usually outlast talent and this match is no different. Cage fights back and soon gains control and hits Glenn with every move in his arsenal before finishing the plucky youngster with the Cage Rage as Persephone stomps her feet and throws a fit after seeing one of her charges go down once again.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Roger Cage defeated KC Glenn in 7:55 by pinfall with a Cage Rage.

As Force charges through the arena entrance he is clotheslined by Lee Wright. Honest Frank and Edward Cornell appear from backstage and join in the assault, punching and kicking the maniac Force in an attempt to injure him before his match with Flash, who stands in the ring smiling. Whistler, still reeling from the Bell shot from Bailey suddenly appears and drives the attackers off, swinging his flagpole wildly, as the Gas House Gang members scatter like Roaches. Whistler then helps a woozy Force to his feet and walks him to the ring.

Steve Flash vs Jim Force

Flash capitalizes on Forces condition right away, hammering the big man to the canvas with a series of double sledgehammer blows. Once on the mat Flash kicks away, then proceeds to isolate a leg and goes to work, attempting to keep Force from standing. As the cobwebs clear however Force starts to seethe with anger and eventually regains his feet as Flash reigns down blow after blow on Force, each one only seeming to feed his anger. Desperate, Flash sinks a kick to the groin and stops the comeback short, then panders to the crowd. His joy is short lived however as Force lands a clothesline from hell, then commences to toss Flash around the ring like a rag doll. Flash, in a state of panic hits the floor, with Force in pursuit. Soon Wright and Cornell are back and a full scale melee breaks out between Force, Whistler and the three members of the Gas House Gang, forcing Michael Bull to call for the bell and disqualify both men.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Steve Flash drew with Jim Force in 11:05 following a double disqualification.

Donnie J © vs Steven Parker W / Persephone – NYCW Empire Championship

Persephone is ranting like a spoiled brat and yelling at Parker to win her ‘that pretty belt’ as the match begins. Parker goes straight to work and after a series of drop kicks followed by a Thesz press he attempts a pin, but Donnie J kicks out easily. The Champion rallies and though Persephone tries to create havoc around ringside, Michael Bull does a good job keeping her under control. Donnie J shows why he has held the belt for so long as counters Parker well, nailing a swing DDT that has the challenger on Dream Street. Donnie yells to the crowd to ‘rope off the crime scene’ and drives Parker into the mat with a Death on Miami Beach. Donnie J covers Parker, but Persephone pulls one of Parker's feet onto the ropes breaking the count. Bull misses the assist from Persephone, but Donnie J does not and tries to slap her through the ropes. Bull pulls the Champion back and lectures him as Persephone hands Parker her can of Hairspray. As Donnie J moves back in to grab Parker, he is sprayed in the eyes and drops to his knees, unable to see. Parker hits a Future Shock and Bull counts…1……………2………..3!!! We have a new Empire Champion!!!

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Steven Parker defeated Donnie J in 22:23 by pinfall with a Future Shock after spraying Hairspray in Donnie J’s eyes. Steven Parker wins the NYCW Empire title.

Overall Rating: D Attendance: 1000 (Sell Out) Gate: $9,000 – Increased popularity

Backstage:

The mood is jubilant backstage as we celebrate our first sell out. In one corner Honest Frank is spraying our new Champion with Champagne as several other wrestlers mockingly bow to him. Dazzling Dave Diamond is giving his cousin D Mack a horseback ride in another corner, the really strange thing about that being that Triple D is stark naked. Uncle Derek is actually smiling and gives me a nod from across the room as he chats with Black Hat. It is a great scene and the boys deserve it.

Suddenly, I feel a tap on the shoulder.

Donnie J: “You know it was too damn early to put the strap on Parker.”

Me: “Donnie, you had a run of almost a year, you will still be a prominent player, but we need to get some others guys into the title mix though. I don’t understand why you are so unhappy?”

Donnie J: “Because I was the face of this company and we hit a milestone tonight and I think you need to acknowledge my contribution more than putting the strap on a newcomer so early.”

Me: “Donnie, you do know that whole face of NYCW feud with Handsome Stranger was just a storyline right? You also know that it is not a ‘real’ Championship don’t you?”

Donnie J: “Kiss my ass, I don’t need you to patronize me right now, you just screwed up.”

I stared as Donnie left, amazed that someone who was once a locker room leader had suddenly replaced Larry Vessey as our resident cancer. He mentioned before the show he was not happy about dropping the strap, but his reaction just now was unacceptable and left me with a lot to ponder about how I would handle his new attitude.

New high in predictions with 12 for this show, thanks to everyone who participated and sorry for the delay while I recovered from the Flu. A tight race at the top with five people tied for the overall lead and four more only 1 pick off the pace. I gave everyone the draw between Force and Flash and it was the title changes that tripped everyone up, so I will explain my thinking there.

Donnie J has become a negative influence backstage and I have hinted at this a couple of times over the last few shows. He is angry with me right now and he did not want to job to Parker, but his future is up in the air right now. I want him around and have plans for him, but his attitude may make him hard to resign. In terms of the tag titles, the Tag scene in NYCW is not exactly strong right now I think the veterans will boost that strap a bit as long as Wright doesn’t retire, since he and Frank both are two of my higher momentum guys right now. I have a definite vision for the Tag Team situation that will run all the way into the Liberty Cup tournament in September. Of course a lot can happen between now and then to screw that up.

Critical-23's NYCW (BYU's version, lol) Mark Out Review!!!

That's right, ya old school fogies, I even dig the promotions where you can collect a social security check and body slam flag-waving throwbacks! Anyways, onto the show:

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Lee Wright and Honest Frank defeated Southern Comfort in 12:01 when Honest Frank defeated Kentucky Bill by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. Lee Wright and Honest Frank win the NYCW Tag Team titles.

That darn Honest Frank! One of the main stars of the East Coast Wars continues to collect titles even at his age and taking all of those hardcore bumps for years and never looked better. Too bad for Kentucky Bill and Davey Boy, who are one of my favorite tag teams (southern people are the sh*t, didn't you know) and could serve as a team to chase the titles once again. Next!!

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Jared Johnson defeated Sammy the Shark in 12:46 by disqualification.

That's right, most of ya Internet mofos know that Jared Johnson and I are related (my marriage and by choice of profession as we were both trained by Johnny Bloodstone and I went back to the Carolinas to serve my country). Jared's living a part of my dream right now and I hope he will climb to the top of the NYCW ladder but for now Sammy better watch his back because Jared will be back and serve you up somethin' fierce!! Next!!

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man defeated Roderick Remus in 14:07 when Roderick Remus was put through a table. During the match we also had Persephone run in and attack Rayne Man.

Rayne is an awesome prospect that SWF screwed up and let go, probably because he refused to be a part of Lobster Warrior's next under water themed stable or Jack Bruce's personal stylist or whatever. Anyways, glad to see NYCW go with something that you wouldn't have seen in Stomper's heyday in having a tables match. I like hardcore and this was one of my favorite matches of this card. Moving on, yo!!

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Roger Cage defeated KC Glenn in 7:55 by pinfall with a Cage Rage.

Didn't really care for this match as Cage is SWF/TCW bound. What? You didn't know? I know it, you know it, Terry knows it. Hell, Dick Eyezen and Kornell were seen out in public just ranting about it a few minutes ago. MeTube it up, nerds! Next!!

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Steve Flash drew with Jim Force in 11:05 following a double disqualification.

The "N" in NYCW should stand for Nostalgia as Force reminds me of some good ole southen wraslin' from when I was a lil tyke. The guy can't put an arm lock on India's most numerous armed diety without poking himself in the eye but I will say that I am entertained nonetheless and Flash? I say it all the time: heel Flash = ratings. Nuff said!!

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Steven Parker defeated Donnie J in 22:23 by pinfall with a Future Shock after spraying Hairspray in Donnie J’s eyes. Steven Parker wins the NYCW Empire title.

Main event time!! Steven Parker and are I (in my humble opinion) helped put MAW on the map and so it brings a small tear to my eye to see him with a title around his waist. Word is (BTW: if you rather keep a view of "pro wrestling is real, @$$h*le!" then turn away now!) that Mr. Donnie J wasn't happy dropping the title to Parker. J's had a nice little run and while I agree with some that Parker hasn't been there long enough, I know for a fact that Parker has what it takes to be the next face of NYCW while Donnie--sans bad attitude--could still be the ace of NYCW. Face. . .ace. . .two important terms, folks, and a belt is just a useless piece of uhm, belt. Good night nerds!!

Uncle Derek was away on “spring break” as March arrived and I had Lee Wright helping me tie up some loose ends for “Ides of March.” Lee had such a bad ass persona and was usually all business back stage, but he did have a reputation as something of a “charmer” or as some would call it manipulator. As I worked through February’s numbers and he pitched a couple of booking ideas I could see that reputation was somewhat deserved, though he was very subtle about it.

http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x32/Kidbrit/TEW/LeeWright.jpg

Lee: “So how did we do last month, another good one?”

Me: “Down a little from January, but still brought in a pretty solid profit.” (We make $13,746 in February and now sat at $161,155.00 in the bank, but I did not feel comfortable talking figures to the talent as negotiating was already tough enough)

Lee: “Yeah, I know how your Uncle loves money so that’s good news for him. Tell you what though; I think we could even boost that a bit with another good old fashioned heat generating angle. I mean, maybe even up there with that brilliant angle you booked when Whistler’s flag got burned, man that was ballsy!”

Me: “Yeah, I was told as much and also told to tone it down a bit.”

Lee: “Come on, you had the crowd in your hand that night and we could use another boost like that, especially after a sell out last month.”

Me: “I take it you have something in mind?”

Lee: “Well, I’m not really that savvy in this type of stuff, but…..It did occur to me that we, uh you, could capitalize on the buzz of Jim Force coming here if you have someone take him out and cause a ‘serious injury’ if you know what I mean?”

Me: “Not quite sure I follow you, are you saying you should injure Force?”

Lee: “No, no, not at all….I mean, if you think that would boost his feud with our stable I wouldn’t mind doing it if you had nobody else in mind. You know maybe take a knee out while he is lifting weights, or hold the bar down on his neck while he is benching……I mean if you thought that would help I could do an angle like that.”

Me: “Ok, sure, thanks for offering, I’ll think about….hey I have to get these posters out for the March show, but we can talk later.”

As I left, I smiled to myself, for somebody that was just throwing things out there Wright sure had things pretty well thought out. Of course I am sure that Force being possibly our top face right now had nothing to do with his willingness to “help out”

This match is the wildcard in my opinion on this show because it could go either way in my opinion.
