Thanks guys. I just seconds ago posted a article on the "End of 1989 Awards." If you haven't checked it out in the last 10 minutes or so, check it again to read about just how well the NWA did at the recent banquet in Fort Worth, Texas. ;)

The link to the site can be found in the first post in this thread, or you can find it by clicking the link below.

Remember, the links to the NWA Archive is to the middle, right of the front page of the NWA site, or on all the NWA pages really.

Enjoy! Just two more TV shows each for both the NWA and WCW brands before "SlamBoree!"

There's also a NWA guestbook I setup for any comment you might have in case you don't want to sign up to be a follower of the site. (I probably wouldn't either, but all are welcome to of course.) The guestbook can be used by anyone without joining anything.

Looking forward to seeing Lawler clash with Funk down the road!

Yeah, I'm sure this will happen very soon, since Funk's been feuding with Luger for the first 4 months, which I really didn't cover much of since I started the diary 4 months in. But yeah, he is due to start a new feud pretty darn quick.

I'm curious what prompted the shoving match between Vince McMahon and Greg Moe. Did Greg Moe turn down an offer to book for WWF?

Mark

No, I think Vince was just upset over the NWA having 4 of the top 5 in the Power 100 list, so he got mouthy, and Moe don't play that.

Just posted my first week of January shows with just one week left now before SlamBoree. I decided to name weekly posts, something like "Week 1, January 1990," which this one is named. Since today is the first day of March, (real time), it has been placed in the "March Archive." The February Archive is still there, just collapsed to make room for March. Just click the little arrow next to the word February to see the older posts. Below is the link to the first post in March. (January 1990 game time.)

Enjoy. (At least I hope you enjoy.) :D

I'm curious what your level and popularity is right now.

I'm still Cult size with a Prestige of B+. I'm getting real close to National I think however. If I can land one more tv deal for another show, that should speed it up even more.

As a fan...I'd love to see Kamala the Ugandan Giant get a major push.

Any progress on getting Andre to come over to NWA?

Mark

There is some late breaking news just coming across the wire about Andre the Giant and the NWA, but you'll have to read it in the week 2 January post later tonight or tomorrow AM. :D

Really interesting read so far - really like the almost historical presentation that you've gone for.

I'll be reading this with interest as I'm currently in the early stages of my own diary at the moment (I've booked two shows and after Fall Brawl, I'll begin to publish in the forum once I have a backlog) so it's interesting to see the turns that you've taken compared to where I want to go with the group

There were two pretty exciting shows and SlamBoree is now just tomorrow night. It looks like after this weeks shows concluded, the PPV should be simply awesome! Click the link above to read all the latest exciting news with recaps of both "Worldwide" and "Saturday Night."

Excellent write-up for January week 2! Looks like things are really heating up in the NWA/WCW. I'd gladly buy a ppv to see Ric Flair-Bret Hart and Terry Funk-Lex Luger. Didn't see the much anticipated news regarding Andre the Giant, though. Great diary!

Yeah, things got so heated and exciting, I forgot to mention that when Terry Gordy came over in a trade, All Japan didn't want to trade Andre.
