Shimedzu don´t get the job done this time either though he will get close.

Tasuku Iesada & Masaaki Okazaki vs Miyamae & Sensational Dragon
Miyamae and Dragon are both quite good but they still seem like a weaker pair here.

Junior Tag Team Championship: Black Heart Flying Squadron vs Your New Heroes
There is a very real change for title change here but I rather see some other tag team taking these titles as Masuko and Elemenal III probably don´t need them as they are close to the top of cruiserweight division already.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa & Chuichi Sanda vs Eiji Hamacho & Mike Watson
Poor Hamacho certainly draw the short end of the stick when it comes to partners, no way Kikkawa loses here.

Horri, Toshusai & Onodera vs Black Cobra, Masuno & Taira
Horri is the difference maker here.

BOSJ Cup Qualifier: Haru Kurofuji vs Red Panther vs Yoshii Shiomi
Kurofuji has a ral shot to win this one but I would go with Shiomi as UE needs to deal with Behemoths anyway.

Junior 6 Way: American Optimus vs Barei Yasujiro vs Hyosuke Kokan vs John Pathlow vs Kansuke Konda vs Super Joshuya
Pathlow is the guy who I see as highest on ladders from these six.

I still can´t remember who exacly is who here other than that they are all jobbers. If memery serves Fuganaga was one of those RAGE guys though so lets go with him.

Match A: Mitsunari Fuganaga & Toshiki Shibanumo vs Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura

This was a decent back and forth Tag match and if any of them on either side was a little more over, this wouldn't have been out of place on the main show, as it is this made for one of the better pre-show matches on this tour. Both sides went close with Fuganaga going closest for the RAGE duo with a Who's Laughing Now (Double Underhook Facebuster) on Kataoka and Sotomura came close to securing victory for his team when Shibanumo was caught in the Ultimate Chinlock but in the end neither side was able to emerge the winner as the ten minute time limit expired.

Result: Mitsunari Fuganaga & Toshiki Shibanumo drew with Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura (Time Limit Expired)

Match B: VENOM vs Tiger Fuyuki

Tiger Fuyuki got in some token offence, but VENOM controlled most of the match before securing the win with the Sting In The Tail (Cross Kneelock), as the RAGE man picked up another confidence boosting victory following his win in the BOSJ Cup qualifier on the previous show.

Result: VENOM bt Tiger Fuyuki in 4:02 via submission (Sting In The Tail)

The show kicks off with championship action as Your New Heroes finally get their long awaited 'rematch' with Black Heart Flying Squadron since they lost the belts to the BHFS at Fire Dream Of The Immortals back in March. In fairness the members of YNH did both focus on trying to capture singles gold initially after losing the belts but of late they have begun to work together more as a team once again and they have looked impressive doing so, even picking up a non title win in a four way match that also involved the champions last month.

We get some pretty cagey mat and chain wrestling exchanges involving all four men in something of a 'feeling out' process at the beginning of the match, which the challengers Your New Heroes seemed to be edging...especially when Masuko almost caught Golden Scorpion with a quick roll up for a two count.

Frustrated that they weren't leading control of the match the Black Heart Flying Squadron then decided take off for a powder but YNH weren't having any of that and Elemental III soared over the top rope with his trademark Elemental Space Flying Drop whilst Masuko followed with a suicide dive of his own.

Elemental III then pitched The Awesome Kiyaru back into the ring and after peppering 'the Dark Enigma' with the Tri-Fecta Kick Combination, 'the Third Generation Icon' headed up top only for Golden Scorpion to hop up onto the apron and though Elemental III managed to shove Scorpion off it allowed for Kiyaru to recover and bring Elemental III crashing back into the ring with a huge hurrucanrana.

That lead to a two count as Marihito Masuko broke into the ring to make the save, but Masuko found himself on the end of a chop block/leg lariat combo from the Black Heart Flying Squadron and with 'the Painted Wonder' taken out they turned their attentions back to Elemental III as they isolated 'the Third Generation Icon' in their corner.

The match then slowed down quite a bit as the BHFS looked to 'humiliate' Elemental III by trying to arrogantly put the popular Burning Sekigun masked man away with weak level offence such as a simple leg-drop . This was of course interspersed with the usual taunting of both Elemental III and his partner Marihito Masuko, drawing the ire of the 'Painted Wonder' whose protestations only brought more Phantom Tags and cheap shots for Elemental III to contend with.

However when Golden Scorpion went for a Golden Shot (Slingshot Leg Drop) Elemental III got the knees up and followed up with an STO on Scorpion before trying to make his way back across to get the tag into Masuko but Kiyaru had burst out of the corner to knock Masuko off the apron. That drew the attention of referee Omura Umeki who ordered Kiyaru back to his corner but the distraction allowed for Scorpion to then low blow Elemental III from behind and sneak in a quick roll up.

To the crowd's immediate delight Elemental III managed to kick out but he remained in trouble as clearly still troubled by the low blow, Scorpion lifted 'the Third Generation' icon upon his shoulders into the Electric Chair Position as Kiyaru headed up top....but Elemental III was playing possum, slipping of Scorpion's shoulders before delivering a Roundhouse Kick the momentum of which sent Scorpion staggering towards Kiyaru. Elemental III then followed with a standing drop-kick causing Scorpion to collide with the turbuckle and for Kiyaru to lose his balance and drop into the tree of woe position. Elemental III then back peddled to his corner, getting the tag into Marihito Masuko who then sent Scorpion flying out of the ring with a spinning headscissors before delivering a dropkick to Kiyaru who was still prone in the corner.

Masuko then dragged Kiyaru out of the corner and planted 'the Dark Enigma' with a MASUKO CRADLE (Bridging Leg Hook Belly to Back Suplex)........

Kiyaru kicked out but remained rooted to the mat, and Masuko headed out onto the ring apron looking to deliver INTO THE WHITE (Springboard Bulldog) only for Golden Scorpion to nail Masuko with a chair shot. Elemental III then protested to Umeki about what just happened but his complaints fell on death ears and were of no help to Masuko who then staggered into a Leg Lariat from the recovered Kiyaru who then turned things over to Scorpion who then drilled Masuko into the canvas with a BRAINBUSTER.

Masuko kicked out but remained rooted to the mat as Scorpion tagged Kiyaru back in, as the 'Dark Enigma' headed straight up top to come off with a moonsault but Masuko managed to roll out of the way and then gets the knees up on the standing moonsault to deny Kiyaru from pulling off his 'Instant Wizard' combination. Masuko then got the tag into a refreshed and fired up Elemental III who drilled Kiyaru with a missile drop-kick before sending Golden Scorpion back out of the ring with a standing drop-kick. Elemental III then took Kiyaru down to the mat with a Reverse STO before smoothly transitioning into the ELEMENTAL CLUTCH !!

But just as it looked like Kiyaru was set to tap away the titles...Golden Scorpion dived in to make the save. That then drew Masuko back into the ring as the match began to unravel out of control. Your New Heroes then sent both of the Black Heart Flying Squadron out of the ring with stereo drop-kick and once again lined up for stereo dives, this time however Kiyaru spew Black Mist into Masuko's face as the Painted Wonder came soaring through the ropes, which drew the attention of Elemental III who had put the brakes on after seeing Scorpion side step out of the way.

With Elemental III's attention diverted towards his distressed partner Scorpion sneaked back into the ring spun 'the Third Generation Icon' around and then planted Elemental III into the canvas with a SCORPION STINGER (Leg Trap Sunset Flip Powerbomb)........

Three !!

Using all the dastardly tricks they could muster, the Black Heart Flying Squadron had once again found a way to hang onto the Junior Tag Team Championship, something they are now likely to hold onto into the next tour given their up coming involvement in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Black Heart Flying Squadron make V6 Defence of Burning Junior Tag Team Championship

Onodera's Assessment: Strong match between two very skilled teams made up of four great individual talents, though being on a regular tour show they did hold back a little so this wasn't quite as strong as perhaps it could have been. The Black Heart Flying Squadron have looked impressive as champions this tour and are showin that they can strike a good balance between impressing with their natural talent but also understanding that they are supposed to be cunning heels. In alot of ways the fact that they are so gifted but still resort to cheating frustrates the fans even more, which is just the reaction we want everytime the BHFS step into the ring.

Post Match Comments:

The Awesome Kiyaru: Once again the Black Heart Flying Squadron show that we are the greatest Tag Team to not only ever set foot inside a ring but to also walk the earth and it's heavens !! But we are not merely a great team we are god combined in force, and a force that will get their hands on the trophy.

Golden Scorpion: Indeed one of us will get our hands on the trophy !

Elemental III: Once again Flying Squadron you show how Black your Hearts really are....beating us purely on ability is acceptable, defeating Masuko-san and I because once again you have resorted to using your tawdry tricks is not...but mark my words you will get our comeuppance.

Snow Lizzard got in some token offence but the former three time Champions just could not physically compete with the imposing The Behemoths who emerged victorious in just under five minutes of 'serviceable' action when Nisso Yuasha put away Sanetomo Shiraishi with the Thunder Drop (Gorilla Press Slam).

Onodera's Assessment: Lets be honest this was never going to be a classic and this was just there as filler. Keeping it relatively short helped the match and helped The Behemoths to look more effective in their role as monsters. Snow Lizzard may well be former three time champions but they are long past their prime and they know what their role is these days.

Nisso Yuasha: It's time we were shown some more respect, what does it take for Kanishoki-san and I to get a title shot round here?!!

An opportunity here for three more of the lesser lights in the Junior Division to improve their standing and qualify for the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. The match quickly settled into a pattern where Yoshii Shiomi and Haru Kurofuji would battle for chain and mat wrestling supremacy only for Red Panther to serve as 'spoiler' whenever one of them would get close to pulling out the victory. The finishing sequence saw Yoshii Shiomi finally able to snap off the Sublime Crossface (Spinning Facebuster into a Crossface) on Kurofuji but before he could make Kurofuji tap out, Red Panther broke things up in spectacular fashion with the Tumbleweed Legdrop.

Red Panther then feeling that Shiomi was taken out of the equation then went to cover Kurofuji but the Universal Excellence man still had some life left, grabbing the leg and then turning Panther over into the Kurofuji Crab. With Shiomi laying motionless Panther was forced to tap out, quite simply the gaijin masked man had made the wrong choice in who he should have covered and Kurofuji took full advantage to earn his place in the BOSJ Cup.

Result: Haru Kurofuji [w] bt Red Panther [L] + Yoshii Shiomi

Onodera's Assessment: Like the other qualifier everyone put in a good shift but the general lack of overness meant that this received a somewhat lukewarm response from the crowd. Kurofuji has had the most prominent exposure this tour (even if that is part of a Tag Team and he's been generally presented as the lesser half of the team) so he advances to the tournament itself.

Post Match Comments:

Haru Kurofuji: It has been a longstanding dream of mine to compete in the Best of the Super Juniors and now I have finally made it, but I want to prove that I'm just not there to make up the numbers and that I truly deserve my place in the tournament.

Yoshii Shiomi: I will admit that this year has not been a good one for me, and not making the BOSJ Cup really hurts but I believe I can bounce back from this and from here on you will see a stronger Yoshii Shiomi.

The match began as a wild brawl but referee Koetsu Shinozaki was able to quickly restore order with Onodera and Cobra ending up as the legal pair in the ring and they put on a fine back and forth technical wrestling clinic with Onodera trapping Cobra in the LRC (Arm Trap Crossface) only for Masuno to quickly intervene before Cobra would tap the match away. That then drew out Horri and Toshusai in protest but that only distracted Shinozaki and Cobra got in a low blow on Onodera.

Onodera then had to survive a BHB beatdown 'Spencer Marks' style, eventually tagging out to Toshusai after Cobra crashed and burned on a From Canada With Love (Swandive Headbutt). 'Wild Charisma' then cleaned house and almost picked up the win when he drilled Cobra with the SHOCK DRILLER (Double Underhook Piledriver) but once again one of the Tag Team champions was there to intervene this time in the form of Taira. Taira whilst not actually the legal man then nailed Toshusai with The Flattener (Running Clothesline) into the corner, before a recovered Black Cobra placed Toshusai in the STONE HOLD (Sharpshooter)......

But 'Wild Charisma' managed to fight his way to the ropes and force the rope break and then after giving his customary double bird signal planted Cobra with a SPINE SHOCKER. Both then crawled across to their corners to make the tag, with Horri and Masuno both tagging in at the same time. Horri and Masuno then slugged it out in the middle of the ring, until 'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer' was tripped up from the ring apron by Taira just a he was lining up for Lariat. Masuno then slapped the MASUNO DEEP SLEEPER (Arm Hook Sleeper) on Horri. But just as it looked like Horri might fade away he found a second wind and then levelled MASUNO with a BURNING LARIAT !! The Hammer went down like a sack of rice and with Onodera and Toshusai holding off Taira and Cobra it was enough for the Burning Sekigun trio to emerge with the victory.

Result: Kinnojo Horri [w], Tadakuni Toshusai & Takayuki Onodera vs Black Cobra, Yasunobu Masuno [L] & Yasuhiko Taira in 14:32 via pinfall (Burning Lariat)

Onodera's Assessment: Predictable and formulaic but it's a formula that continues to work and everyone plays their role well in these Sekigun-BHB battles.

Hamacho and Watson determined for revenge wasted no time in going straight at Kikkawa & Sanda and their aggressive approach caught the 'INSPIRE' pair on the backfoot. Hamacho in particular leaving Sanda reeling with some heavy punches. When things settled down Sanda found himself isolated in the 'RAGE' corner but when Hamacho lined up to nail his former Tag partner with the Bull Rush (Spear) he was tripped up from the apron by Kikkawa. That draw the attention of Mike Watson who came over to his former leader and with those pair now brawling on the outside it drew the attention of referee Yasuyuki Terakado, who missed Chuichi Sanda low blowing Eiji Hamacho.

Hamacho did manage to kick out of Sanda's roll-up much to the aspiring INSPIRE member's frustation but the momentum of the match had most definitely turned in Sanda and Kikkawa's favour. However Sanda got a little c0cky in trying to impress his potental new boss and when he looked to plant Hamacho with an Exploder, the Raging Bull was able to block and then drill Sanda into the canvas with an HAMACHO SLEDGE (Death Valley Driver) but unfortunately for the Raging Bull, Kikkawa was on hand to break up the cover. Kikkawa then levelled Hamacho with a lariat before being ordered back to his corner.

After both Hamacho and Sanda were almost counted out they got their tag into their partners, where Mike Watson doggedly shook off all of Kikkawa's offence before lining up for the ONE STOP PUNCH but Kikkawa had it well scouted, blocking the punch and then nailing Watson with a flurry of fore-arms before scooping Watson up onto his shoulders to then drive the 'Calgary Assassin' into the canvas with a KIKKAWA DRIVER (Wrist Clutch Death Valley Driver)....Hamacho dived in at the last second to make the save but was then immediately nailed with an EXPLOSION KICK (Running Boot) from Chuichi Sanda. Kikkawa still the legal man in the ring then scooped up Mike Watson to deliver a second consecutive KIKKAWA DRIVER and with Hamacho unable to shake off the effects of Sanda's Explosion Kick it was enough for the 'INSPIRE' pair to pick up the win.

Onodera's Assessment: Even with Mike Watson putting in his usual half assed effort, this match still managed to draw a good reaction from the crowd or rather more it's a testament to the heat Kikkawa can draw everytime he steps into the ring.

Chuichi Sanda: Haha Hamacho-san, you will never better me, I am so much better without you, I am running with the big dogs now !

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: Oh we are now are we Sanda-san, do not get carried away because I pretty much saved your ass in there, you have proven me nothing but I'm not going to totally dismiss you...prove your worth, truly prove your worth to me and then you might just EARN a spot in Team INSPIRE...

Chuichi Sanda: Fine have it that way Kikkawa-san.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: Do NOT ever question my authority, count yourself lucky Sanda-san I have not kicked your ass to the kerb already. You just happen to be in the right place at the right time, because I have come to the realisation that Team INSPIRE are a little short in numbers but you have to prove yourself worthy Sanda-san.

This Junior Division showcase was all out action from bell to bell with spectacular dives and plenty of last ditch saves as everyone must have hit at least one of their finishers at some point. The finishing sequence saw Size of the Fight (Kokan & Konda) combine on a BIG FIGHT ENDER (Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo) to take out John Pathlow. Kokan then fell victim to a J-Drop (Flip Over DDT) from Super Joshuya. Joshuya then headed up top as American Optimus stunned Konda with a Palm Thrust, but as Optimum Impact looked to set up for the O-DEVASTATOR, Konda recovered and then drilled American Optimus with a Konda Driver (Fisherman Driver) but was then rocked with a missile drop-kick from Super Joshuya.

Barei Yasujiro then sneaked up behind Joshuya and planted the Junior Division veteran with a YASUJIRO SUPLEX (Electric Chair Dropped into a Bridging German Suplex)....that however was broken up with a HEART COMPACTOR (Diving Double Knee Drop) from John Pathlow, who then lifted up the already dazed Super Joshuya to deliver a KILL DRILL (Double Underhook Piledriver) and secure the victory.

Result: John Pathlow [w] bt American Optimus + Barei Yasujiro + Hyosuke Kokan + Kansuke Konda + Super Joshuya [L] in 8:32 via pinfall (Kill Drill)

Onodera's Assessment: As card filler went that was pretty fun and whilst the match didn't really have much time to yet a narrative develop inside of the ring, there was enough time for everyone to show off their skills, proving to be a fine appetiser for the up-coming BOSJ Cup.

In terms of pure heat, the Dragon Feet 2K9-INSPIRE rivalry is probably one of the less intense; despite all of the arrogant posteuring on the INSPIRE side , their is a quiet respect for their opponents. That doesn't however mean that these are matches the Burning Hammer crowd do not look forward to, as whenever wrestlers from these two factions go up against one another they are quite often quality affairs.

The match began with some back and forth technical wrestling exchanges involving all four men. However the even harmony of the match was broken when Masaaki Okazaki resorted to catching Sensational Dragon with a lifted heel into the Junior Champion's lower extremities just as Dragon was setting up for a Dragon Suplex.

Okazaki then got a two count off an inverted DDT before the match's pace slowed down a little as the Team INSPIRE duo worked over Dragon in their corner. However they took things a little too methodically and the explosive Junior Champion was able to impressively put together a Tornado DDT/Headscissors takedown combination of both Iesada and Okazaki before getting the tag into Miyamae.

Miyamae cleaned house with some rapid fire kicking and striking combinations, sending Iesada out of the ring and then planting Okazaki with a Dragon Suplex for a two count. Miyamae then looked to lock in the Snake Poison (Anaconda Vice) but Iesada rolled back into the ring to intervene. Sensational Dragon then entered the ring as things began to break down nailing Iesada with a drop-kick that sent the 2009 Super 10 Cup winner into the corner. Miyamae then sent Okazaki into the opposite corner before the Dragon Feet 2K9 pair then went for symultaneous running knee strikes into the corner.

Miyamae then dragged Okazaki out into the middle of the ring before placing No Mercy once again in the SNAKE POISON (Anaconda Vice)....Iesada then attempted to make the save again but this time got taken down with a drop toe hold from Dragon who then placed Iesada in a Crucifix Arm Bar....but despite all the punishment they had taken over the past few minutes the INSPIRE pair managed to not only fight their way out of the submission holds they were in but then turn the tables with Okazaki turning Miyamae over into a CENTURY CRAB LIFT and Iesada now placing Sensational Dragon in a IESADA SPECIAL (Bridging Cross Arm Breaker).....

However the legal man Miyamae was close enough to the ropes to force a rope break and referee Koetsu Shinozaki looked to quickly restore order, sending Dragon and Iesada back to their respective corners. Okazaki continued to keep control after the rope break, getting in a quick cheap shot and then peppering Miyamae with chops, before planting the former two time Tag champion with an OKAZAKI EXPLOSION (Wrist Clutch Exploder Suplex)........

Sensational Dragon desperately dived back into the ring to make the save before pitched back out to the floor with a savate kick from Okazaki, who then turned his attention back to Miyamae. Okazaki decided to set up for another Okazaki Explosion but Miyamae found a burst of energy to block the attempt and then counter into a MIYAMAE SPOILER (Swinging Reverse STO).....

This time Iesada made the desperation save, before planting Miyamae with a Uranage Slam. That brought some breathing space for Okazaki to get Iesada officially tagged back into the match, with Miyamae staggering right into an IESADA BRIDGE (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex) from 'the Dangerous One'

Sensational Dragon dived back in to make the save and then nailed Iesada with a Super Kick before planting the 2009 Super 10 Cup Winner with a DRAGON SLICE......

Dragon then went for the cover but Koetsu Shinozaki correctly made track that he was not the legal man and sent the Junior Champion back to his corner. With Iesada and Miyamae both laying motionless in the ring it then became a race to see who could get back to their feet and tag out first. Both beat the ten count and then tagged out at around the same time.

Sensational Dragon was a step ahead however drilling Okazaki with a springboard missile drop-kick before slipping out to the apron again, where he waited for No Mercy to stagger back to his feet .....SENSATION SHOCK (Diving Frontflip Hurrucanrana pin).............

Sensational Dragon had secured the win for Dragon Feet 2K9 and heads into the defence of his Best of Super Juniors Tournament trophy brimming with confidence.

Onodera's Assessment: Really enjoyable semi main event, with Sensational Dragon being a Junior Division wrestler many will see this as a mild upset but Dragon's as big a star as anyone else in this match and we though it was a nice touch to have him head into the BOSJ Cup looking as strong as ever.

Sensational Dragon: How Sensational am I ? Well I think you just saw, just how Sensational I am....not only can I dominate the Junior Division, I am also a slayer of the so called heavyweights.... I truly am a gift to the world of wrestling !

Miyamae: No one should ever understimate Dragon Feet 2K9, tonight we showed that we are the true guiding force for excellence here in BHOTWG.

Tasuku Iesada: I am beginning to question Okazaki-san's usefulness to Team INSPIRE, which is hard for me to take because he's not just a collegue, he's a friend but INSPIRE are winners and right now he's not delivering...but whether or not Okazaki-san's form is of too much concern is of course not a decision for me to make and I am as ever fully committed to backing the decision of our leader Kikkawa-san.

It was now time for the main event as Shimedzu gets his second chance on the Burn, Don't Freeze Tour at winning the much coveted Burning World Championship. Could 'Kamikaze Spirit' step up and gain the defining victory of his career or would he come up short at the final hurdle yet again, following his losses in his previous World Title challenge and his challenge for Kikkawa's King of Fighters belt ?

There is a sense of deja-vu to how this match begins, as Shimedzu uses the same strike and move strategy that he used to begin with at the start of his earlier challenger at Sword of Destiny. This time it actually works a bit better as Shimedzu avoids a clothesline from Nakasawa and then nails the champion with a springboard roundhouse before taking the legs out of the World Champion with a Basement drop-kick.

Immediately Shimedzu looks to lock on the Insurrexion Device, but in all honesty he was looking for it too early and Nakasawa pitches Shimedzu up and over with a back body drop. Shimedzu does manages to land on his feet but gets levelled with a clothesline before Nakasawa assumes complete control with a scoop powerslam for a two count. The H-Bomb then whipped Shimedzu across the ring to follow up with another clothesline, only for Kamikaze Spirit to slip under the rope and take a powder to try and regroup.

Nakasawa calmy waited for Shimedzu to get back into the ring , but the Dragon Feet 2K9 man immediately backed out of the ring, as soon as he saw Nakasawa try and connect with another clothesline. This game of cat and mouse continued for the next few minutes as Nakasawa and the crowd eventually grew frustrated of Shimedzu's 'mind games' and soon enough Nakasawa found his breaking point, giving chase to the outside before being nailed with a leg lariat from Shimedzu who was a step ahead as they brought the action back into the ring. A standing drop-kick then sent Nakasawa slumping into the corner before Shimedzu followed up with a facewash.

Shimedzu then dragged Nakasawa out of the corner before going up top, the H-Bomb however staggered back up to his feet only to be drilled with a missile drop-kick from 'Kamikaze Spirit'. That lead to a two count for Shimedzu who then lined up for the Life Flasher (Rebound Running Boot) but Nakasawa had it scouted side stepping the move and then changing the momentum once again with a clothesline.

Nakasawa then peppered Shimedzu with a flurry of chops and fore-arms before pitching the Dragon Feet 2K9 man onto the top turnbuckle. Nakasawa then climbed to the top himself as he looked to bring Shimedzu crashing back into the ring with a superplex but 'Kamikaze Spirit' regrouped to fight Nakasawa off and then stun the champion with a Diving Cross Body.....

Nakasawa kicked out and then rolled through to take control with a head and arm cradle to then plant Shimedzu with a snap suplex. Shimedzu managed to kick out but Nakasawa continued to maintain control lifting and then holding Shimedzu high into the air for over half a minute, before sending 'Kamikaze Spirit' crashing back down to the canvas with a vertical suplex......

Nakasawa could sense he could be just one big move away from putting Shimedzu away, as he set up for the H-BOMB (Crucifix Powerbomb) but Shimedzu slipped off the shoulders before stunning the World Champion with Hangman's Neckbreaker......

Shimedzu then waited for Nakasawa to stagger back up to his feet befoe nailing 'the H-Bomb' with a LIFE FLASHER !!

Nakasawa wasn't going to go down that easily and kicked out but Shimedzu was keen to keep the pressure on and immediately looked to lock in the Insurrexion Device but once again Naksasawa was able to block Shimedzu's attempts at locking in his dangerous submission hold and the World Champion then planted 'Kamikaze Spirit' across his knee with a Uranage Backbreaker.

Nakasawa then perhaps took Shimedzu by surprise forgoing the pin attempt to instead take Shimedzu's legs out from underneath and the place 'Kamikaze Spirit' in a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK. A battle of wills then followed as Nakasawa looked to drag Shimedzu nearer to the centre of the ring, but Shimedzu's determination to keep his challenge alive eventually proved to be stronger and with a burst of adrenalin, 'Kamikaze Spirit' made a big push to force the rope break.

But Shimedzu still looked to be on his last legs as Nakasawa dragged the former two time Tag Champion back into the centre of the ring. Nakasawa then set up for the Compression Powerbomb but as he lifted Shimedzu up, 'Kamikaze Spirit' managed to flip out and then counter with a jaw breaker. Shimedzu then followed with a leaping spin kick that took Nakasawa down to the mat before heading up top.

Nakasawa staggered back up to his feet, only to be drilled into the mat with a leaping DDT from Shimedzu........

Two......

Nakasawa kicked out but was then immediately trapped in the INSURREXION DEVICE (Guillotine Choke)......

The World Champion however managed to have enough energy left to power his way back up to his feet but Shimedzu then drilled Nakasawa into the canvas with a TORNADO DDT before once again applying the INSURREXION DEVICE !!

Nakasawa now looked to be fading, and fading fast....

Omura Umeki lifted Nakasawa's arm up.......

Nakasawa's arm limply fell down.....

Umeki with a second chance for Nakasawa to prove he was still in the match.......

Again no response.....

One last chance for Nakasawa........

All of sudden the champion had dug down to his deep reserves of fighting spirit and with all the will power he had left dragged himself and Shimedzu across to the ropes to force a championship saving rope break.

But Shimedzu still looked to be the fresher of the two and immediately nailed Nakasawa with a LIFE FLASHER !!

Nakasawa barely got a shoulder up but once again showed the fighting spirit of a true champion much to Shimedzu's frustration. The Dragon Feet 2K9 man then paced around for a bit before turning his attention back to Nakasawa, as he ambitiously looked to get Nakasawa up for the SKULL-DROP but the 'H-Bomb' managed to put the brakes on before countering into a NAKASAWA NECKBREAKER (Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker)......

However Nakasawa didn't have enough energy to follow up with an immediate cover and referee Omura Umeki made a double count as both champion and challenger lay prone on the mat.......

Then as both staggered up to their feet Nakasawa continued to seize back control, levelling Shimedzu with a clothesline before reeling 'Kamikaze Spirit' in to deliver the COMPRESSION POWERBOMB (Scoop Lift Powerbomb).........

Shimedzu kicked out to keep his title hopes alive but Nakasawa remained focused and planted 'Kamikaze Spirit with another COMPRESSION POWERBOMB !!!

Onodera's Assessment: As expected still a very good match between these two, but it didn't quite have the spark of the freshness of their original contest at Sword of Destiny. I just think the crowd are tuned into the fact that the World Title doesn't tend to change hands on a regular tour show.

Post match Nakasawa does his usual spiel after every succesful title defence where he puts over how tough a match his opponent gave him, how he's a fighting champion, what an honour it is to be the BHOTWG World Champion and of course how brilliant the fans are and that he hopes they continue to support the greatest wrestling company in the world !

Post Match Comments:

Hiroaki Nakasawa: I said it last time and I'll say it again Shimedzu is a tough competitor and someone who does have the ability to make it straight to the top but as long as I'm World Champion I will stand in the way of his dream and that goes for anyone else who wants to try and take the Burning World Championship away from me.

Shimedzu: They'll be plenty who will start to label me as a big match choker, but I still believe I can win the greatest prize in this sport and I will keep coming back and coming back to challenge until I finally do make that break through.

Onodera's Viewpoint: Another solid show, that apparently does slightly increase our pop in this region but there is a slight sense of disappointment and a feeling that it could have been slightly better. Maybe I am become too harsh a critic of myself but when you are looking to prove the likes of Kikkawa-san wrong then you do become some what self critical.

Like the previous year there was a bit of shake-up in the line up with Pablo Rodriguez, Super Joshuya, Koji Kojima, Mokuami Maita and Silver Shibanuma as newcomers to the tournament that year. </div>

Super Joshuya scored a huge victory over Elemental II to make the finals but Lucha Libre star Pablo Rodriguez was unable to get past The Awesome Kiyaru. Super Joshuya came close to winning the tournament on his debut but in the end Kiyaru continued to prove his dominance of the tournament defeating Joshuya in the finals with the rarely seen Lord of the Ring to win his third straight cup, a feat many feel will be unmatched. </div>

Both semi finals were repeats of finals from previous years. Optimus once again got the better of Elemental II in a repeat of the very first final, but Super Joshuya avenged his defeat to Awesome Kiyaru in the previous years final to end Kiyaru's dominant grip on the trophy and it was Joshuya who would go on to win the tournament defeating Optimus with a Final Falconry to become just the third man to win the trophy.

The sixth edition held in 2005 followed the same format as the previous year and saw Marihito Masuko, UK Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi all make their tournament debuts.
