Undertaker: The Mark Calaway story (sorta)

Recommended Posts

Mark Calaway was born in Houston, Texas and after watching WCCW on TV when he was a kid, he decided that he wanted to be a wrestler rather than a basketball player after having to make the choice at the request of his college basketball coach.

Mark has contacted two promotions in looking for work, Pacific Northwest Wrestling and Southeastern Championship Wrestling.

I will be following a few of the wrestlers. The list of wrestlers will be the two biggies of the '80s, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, plus my all-time fav (Superstar Billy Graham), one of D.Boon's favs (The Spoiler), Shawn Michaels, Arn Anderson, King Kong Bundy and Dave "Fit" Finlay. If any of you readers would like me to follow another wrestler please let me know.

Can't get enough Mean Mark. I'll try to keep up with this one better than previous incarnations.

I'd be much abliged if you could keep an eye on my boy, Bret Hart.

Cheers!

Not a problem. Anything for a continuing reader and I'll be editing in his matches for the first week very soon.

On a side note, congrats to your Canadian Olympic team for setting a new record for gold medals during the Winter games.

Here's hoping for better luck this time out.

Interesting start with SWCW going regional right away and MSW going cult, makes for an interesting 5 way at that level.

This game is truly showing that it doesn't play the same way twice, doesn't it? That's the beauty of the game in itself. It plays differently for everyone and doesn't follow a set script. (except of course George Steele and Buddy Rogers getting let go by WWF)

MSW went cult right away but then that weekend MACW & WWF both go national to break from the pack.

Yeah, that is one constant I notice, no matter what George"The Animal" and "Nature Boy" always get fired....I actually went into the database on mine and changed George Steele's contract so he sticks around the WWF for a while....I figure it's ok since he did wrestle there up until the later 80's.

Every once so often I get a game where, MSW, SWCW, MACW, and WWF grow early on, must be that every once in a while you get a really good economy that grows everyone fast.....the amusing thing about that is it usually takes a few days, so if you went to MSW your first day(before they grow) they may sign your rookie guy then grow and by pure dumb luck you end up in a Cult level promotion right off the bat.

With WWF and MACW both at National it can be interesting since the WWF won't be able to do its usual talent raid of the MACW roster.

Instead, WWF has raided MSW, AWA, WCCW and CWF for a few people. On Friday, MACW has signed people out of WCCW and MSW but lost Steamboat to AJPW.

Congrats on your first victory. Tying things up with Wayne Farris, at one fall a piece. I know I'm interested in seeing a rematch. I loved your last flurry of offense, repeatedly sending him into the ropes, and playing the colossus standing in the middle of the ring.

It's sad to see Hayes go to New York, while Gordy heads to Carolina. It would have been great to see the Freebirds rock one of the Nationals. Steamboat jetting over to Japan, instead of signing with one of the big 2 is surprising. I guess Baba made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

The offer to Steamboat came before MACW went national so going from a cult to a national wouldn't be much of a surprise, although the national is in Japan.

Now that the first win in SECW is out of the way, I'm hoping for better things as the year goes on as well as getting a few victories in before the summer.

Yep,looks like Mark will spending some time with his "good friends" Wayne Farris and Chris Colt once again, here's hoping for some good luck so you can move further up the card fairly quickly.

Although it sucks I can sort of understand the Freebirds splitting as they did there....Hayes was always much more the talker while Gordy was the wrestler,so it makes sense Hayes would go to an entertainment based company while Gordy went with a promotions they put emphasis on work rate...I could totally see Hayes doing a Jesse Ventura type thing for Vince while Gordy's ability to play the "silent, menacing" type would serve him well in the Tag Team/Stable environment of MACW.
