"Fun For The Whole Family"

This diary is based on my USPW Career in TEW 2010. I enjoy this game, but have found it difficult to get off the ground because of time constraints and lack of knowledge of some of the finer points of the game. I recently discovered the online diaries and it’s opened a new world of possibilities for this game, as well as answered some of my lingering game-play questions. So I decided to give it another shot, this time creating an online diary as I go. The plan is as follows:

I’ll play with USPW because I enjoy the family friendly idea. Though I’m not really into stupid gimmicks, I do enjoy the fun aspects of wrestling that I grew up with (mid-eighties). I was a big fan of Jim Crockett Promotions/i.e. WCW and hope to use some of those aspects to take USPW to the next level. I like the wrestling of TCW, but don’t know those wrestlers well enough to play with any intelligence. And SWF is a big promotion already…it’s just more enjoyable to be the underdog!

You’ll notice from the start that I’m going to go 100% kayfabe. I’m not going to tell the backstage stories, because I believe wrestling was better when the backstage stuff was kept backstage. (Of course, this in no way disparages those excellent storytellers who write other diaries. To each his own…) So, I will try to present this diary as if it was the actual television show or event.

My current plan is to post new shows on Fridays, as that is my day off…but we’ll see how that works out (sacrificing family time for gaming seems kind of hypocritical when running a family-friendly promotion!)

Other than that, I’d love to hear your feedback. Like I said, I’m new at this and really haven’t made it past a few months yet in the game. My longest career was in TEW 2007 using the (not surprisingly) Death of the Territories MOD. So, I’m hoping that with the added dynamic of the online diary I’ll stay motivated.

Exciting!

Well, I have my first show under my belt. It wasn't everything I hoped for, but I'll take a "C" for the Overall, especially considering the current talent is angle-focused.

Would love to hear some feedback from any of you who would like to share your thoughts and ideas. Thanks for the predictions! I'll look forward to others doing the same in the future...I hope.

I'll post the preview for my next show sometime at the beginning of next week.

I like this, you keep things simple, which is a good thing... I wil continue to follow this.

But Anger losing to Des Davids in 4 minutes??? Not acceptable.

I misspoke. I was actually happy with the C, not as happy that I got the "This show probably actually hurt our popularity" message. Not sure how to fix that, but time will tell.

I love this stip because it fits with the old style feel of the company that you are trying to project.

This is looking pretty interesting, nice to see another writer on the board Only issue I have is the women's title match ending with an 8 minute time limit draw while the second women's match on the card had a 10 minute time limit, but all in all I like it. Really liking Enygma's character as well.
