Hey guys, after playing pretty much exclusively on RW mods I've finally decided to give the c-verse a go now I properly understand the mechanics of the game.

So, I'm a couple of months in playing as TCW. Has anyone got any tips for me on who to look out for hiring wise? As I'm new to the world there may be some hot prospects I've missed.

Shows are going pretty well, Tommy is promoing it up on a semi-perm basis, T-Rex & Giant Tana flexing & strutting, Blonde Bombshell & Vita sexing it up and most folks giving me solid matches, but its tough keeping shows at a B+ level & above, especially when one duf match near the top of the card can drop me from an B+ rated show to a B rated one :(

Also, does anyone ever do anything with Pete Valentine? He's a bit crap. Mind you, he's now a midcard jobber in my game, Raul Hughes & Buddy Garner ate up his popularity (they both had a change of style from MMA to Brawler & Technician repectively) but I'd love to know if anyone ever does anything interesting with him :)

Cheers folks

<p>TCW was my longest running '05 game, by far. They are a ton of fun, once you get a handle on them.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll start with Valentine, as he's the easiest to deal with. At the start of the game, he has one thing to offer: Popularity. Once that's gone, he's useless. In my game, I actually worked hard to maintain his popularity, and kept him near the top of the card for nearly a year. He headlined a few PPVs (including my first two, in a A rated matches with Cornell), turned heel on Liberty, before giving RDJ & Rick Law that final push into the main event. After that, he transitioned to working in the tag division, where his still decent Popularity helped elevate the whole division, while his partner (I forget who) covered for his complete lack of skills.</p><p> </p><p>

But, since you've already jobbed him out, just job him the rest of the way down the card, and fire his ass.</p><p> </p><p>

As for people to look into hiring, take a look at SWF & DaVE, and shortlist their Written contract workers (all of them with DaVE are awesome). Otherwise, just do a search for people that can work in North America, and have high Star Quality. Start at A*, and work your way down. See who you like, and there you go. For the most part, you'll find everyone of note. Also search for everyone available with C Popularity or more. Those are the people that can make an immediate impact.</p><p> </p><p>

Finally, a bit of advice on keeping ratings high. What I find most useful is to have a talented, over backstage interviewer, and absolutely spam them. In my games, I always use Blonde Bombshell, but there are lots of good choices. As well, in '05 there is absolutely no benefit to having an angle run longer than their minimum (other than filling time). Each angle that rates better than a worker's Popularity will increase it. So, instead of running one angle in a feud, that runs for 10 minutes, run 5 angles that are 2 minutes each.</p><p> </p><p>

The more popular your workers are, the better they will rate. I've always found that it's best to use a top-down strategy. Get a few guys disgustingly over (you've already got a couple), and then use them to trickle it down. Don't job the Popularity down, though (except when you're jobbing someone to a lower spot on the card, or out the door); keep the top guys on top, and your lower guys will come up, just by being seen with them.</p><p> </p><p>

TCW is a lot of fun, so enjoy it. Show that dastardly Eisen who's boss.</p><p> </p><p>

Cheers!</p>

Hired Hooded Kudo, Bryan & Larry Vessey, Champagne Lover, (that giant European guy), Prince Adam.

Bruce the Giant is feuding with Raul Hughes (A rated match regardless) but it has a tag element going on with (that giant European guy) & Bruce vs Raul & Prince Adam. Turns out Adam has good chem with both Raul & Bruce so there will be good things in that boy's future.

Champagne Lover & Hooded Kudo turn out to also have good chem and are feuding over the Television title with Buddy Garner©

Quite pleased with that :D

Also got a development fed, unfortunately its ROF in the UK (I just asked everyone) but at least it means that the guys going there to improve their in ring skills will come back with good technical grades (in theory) even if it wont affect their popularity in the US at all lol

Very nice. You've got the cream of the crop there.

In TEW 2010, Prince Adam has become Rocky Golden, and is the TCW World Heavyweight Champion. That giant European guy is Marat Khoklov, who has become one of the most popular people in the world, having held a world title in Japan, and is a main eventer in the SWF.

I've never had the pleasure of working with Hooded Kudo, but I always drool over the possibility. Enjoy.

Wish I'd realised before that a 4 show Canadian tour would bag me International status, but s'all good, went International at the start of February and bagged myself a new 1 hour TV show set to air on Canadian I-Broadcasting (Quebec & Ontario) & Euro Cable Sports 1 (UK & Europe), TCW Outside Broadcast

Now that I might be big enough is there anyone I should be looking to poach off the SWF roster?

Well, it's unlikely that you'll be able to poach workers from them yet, as they likely still have higher Prestige. That said, almost anyone on their roster can be useful to you. If nothing else, you will be depriving your competition of the people they need.

I recommend shortlisting every single member of their roster. Since they have everybody on Written contracts, you have to wait until those are in their final month, to negotiate. You'll get an e-mail, when you're able to negotiate. At that time, take a look at the worker, and evaluate them individually.

As a side note, why are you splitting your broadcasts, so that you send different shows out internationally, than you broadcast domestically? Why not just get foreign networks to carry your existing show, so that everyone is able to see everything?

Billy Russell is a steal of a free agent. American Elemental works well too.

I disagree on Prince Adam. When I ran CZCW, his matches were the worst on the card, he demanded insane amounts of money, and he was always complaining about his spot. He's really more trouble than he's worth.

I'm mainly keeping Adam in multi-man & tag matches and in looks based angles with guys like T-Rex & Champagne Lover, although he's doing nicely having good chem with 2 of my main eventers (one his tag partner Raul Hughes and the other his arch nemisis Bruce the Giant) and he's quite happy with his Midcard spot as he's worked his way there from Opener in 3 months.

I'll have a look at Elemental & Russell though. Elemental will in theory be a good fit for the USA heel stable with Captain USA & Mr America on the International brand (I now have Homeland & International brands) and I'm short 2 road agents, coolage!
