The Waves started off the WCC regular season by losing their first 6 games. The starting lineup was shuffled with Antione Petro moved to the starting SG position. Pepperdine won 5 of the last 8 conference games.

Entering the conference tourny as the #7 seed, Pepperdine won 3 straight games to advance to the final where they were blown out by Gonzaga. The waves finished with an improved record of 14-19 (5-9) and an RPI of #234. PF Jose Townley made 2nd team All-WCC and SG Antione Petro made the Freshman All-WCC team.

Old Dominion defeated Minnesota to win the NCAA tournament. Arizona State won the NIT.

With only one scholarship to give, the recruiting season did not turn out great. The Waves signed 2 star C Luis Kopp from Westmont High School in CA. He was ranked #2012 in the nation.
