The shot fades on Breaker, his arm raised in victory. Voice Over:: There will be no repeat this season. Both finalists have decided to try their luck elsewhere. Of the original twelve, ten remain, joined by six newcomers. Fifteen men and one woman now begin a fourteen-week marathon, all with one goal in mind: the honor of being called League Champion. And it all begins right now. This is season two...of The League. Despite the noticeable chill in the air, a crowd of 26,000 strong have packed Pittodrie Stadium, filling up both the stands and the seats placed on the pitch itself in anticipation of the start of the second season. About half of the fans seem to be holding signs welcoming Diamond home, while the other half have signs for most of the returning veterans. Eventually, we cut to ringside, and our announce team. Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone! Bob Sinclair, back with you for another season of action, joined once again at ringside by Frankie Garnett. Frankie, the journey starts anew tonight! Frankie Garnett: Indeed it does, Bob. From what I've heard backstage before the show, everyone is fired up and ready to go for tonight. The veterans seem rather composed; the rookies are on edge and ready to prove themselves. It's electric in this stadium, Bob, and the sooner we get started the sooner I can start winning my money! Bob Sinclair: ...I thought you were going to Gamblers Anonymous during the off-season. Frankie Garnett: I was given 3-1 odds on $100 that I'd stop going. Easiest $300 I ever made! Bob Sinclair: ... Sean vs. Super Century (Fans' Pick: Super Century, 79% // Vegas Odds: Century 6:5, Sean 5:1) Black Sabbath's classic "Iron Man" hits the stadium speakers as the reigning Gamma Division champion makes his way to ringside for the start of the match. Amelia Williams: Our opening contest for this season of the League is scheduled for one fall! Coming down the aisle, from Charlotte, North Carolina, weighing 230 pounds...he is last season's Gamma Division champion...Sean! Bob Sinclair: Sean returns to us as the highest-ranking veteran in the League last year by virtue of his third-place finish. Yet the fans seem to think that the rookie will win the match, Frankie. Frankie Garnett: You can't count Sean out. He didn't go 9-5 and win the Gamma Division last year on a fluke. Though given Century's mentality in the ring, I'm clueless as to why he's such a heavy favorite. The spotlights framing the ring shut off for a few moments, as silence fills the stadium. As they turn back on, the opponent is crouched on the top rope, his eyes never shifting from his opponent. Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Halls of Justice, weighing 205 pounds...Super Century! Bob Sinclair: Odd. I was expecting some sort of superhero-like entrance music. Frankie Garnett: Blame the interns. They were playing Frisbee golf before the show with what they thought was a blank CD, and it wound up in a wood chipper by accident. Turns out it had his theme music on it. Sean hit the Punch Sean hit the Eye Gouge Sean hit the Forearm Blow Sean hit the Running Clothesline Super Century blocked the Western Spinning Toe Hold. Super Century hit the Running Clothesline Bob Sinclair: That may be the opening Century needs to get on track. Sean has dominated the early portion of the match. Frankie Garnett: I'll admit, I'm surprised so far by what Sean is showing me. This crowd had very little reaction to his entrance, and he seems to be thriving on that! Super Century hit the Knee Pull Super Century picks up Sean from behind. Super Century applied the Arm Wringer Super Century hit the Throat Thrust Super Century hit the Jab Punch Super Century hit the Hammerlock Kick Super Century hit the Running Dropkick The Single Leg Grapevine was countered into a Legsweep Kick. Bob Sinclair: World champions have lost to that move, Frankie. It happens. The Powerbomb was countered into a Kick To Gut. The Small Package was countered into a Palm Thrust. Super Century climbs the turnbuckles. Super Century hit the Flying Body Press The referee begins the count... 1! 2! Kick Out Just After Two! The referee has called for the bell! Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of eight minutes and fifty seconds...Sean! Bob Sinclair: Sean picks up where he left off last season, and puts away a valiant Super Century with that figure four leglock. Frankie Garnett: I'm thinking Century landed wrong, Bob. No way he should have submitted there. Bob Sinclair: Be that as it may, Sean picks up the first win of the second season. Nuclear Templeton vs. Sebastian Moore (Fans' Pick: Nuclear Templeton, 93% // Vegas Odds: Templeton 11:10, Moore 14:1) Bob Sinclair: Fans, if you're looking for a straight-up bruiser, look no further than our next match. One of the pure powerhouses in the League is on deck, facing one of our rookie MMA crossovers. Frankie Garnett: Templeton seems to be a hit with the fans; a near-unanimous vote in his favor coming into the match. There's more than a few people—and yes, I include myself—who think he was robbed out of a playoff spot last season. We'll find out if Sebastian Moore is able to weather the storm I expect Nuclear to be bringing. Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers to a loud ovation. Amelia Williams: Our next bout is schedule for one fall! Approaching the ring, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton! Bob Sinclair: I hear during our brief off-season that Nuclear's been working on his ground game, Frankie. Frankie Garnett: As if getting beat up horribly while standing wasn't bad enough? Nuclear wants to straight-up murder someone this season! Muse's "Assassin" hits the speakers as the opponent walks to the ring, arrogance plainly visible on his face and sending the Scottish crowd into a jeering frenzy. Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Manchester, England, weighing 237 pounds...Sebastian Moore! Frankie Garnett: Heh, now here's a kid whose task I do not envy in the slightest. Bob Sinclair: Indeed, Frankie. Drawing one of the more accomplished veterans as your first match in The League is going to be a tall order to overcome. Especially when the crowd is so against you. The referee's hand starts coming down... 3! Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of seven and a half minutes...Nuclear Templeton! Frankie Garnett: OK, the rook surprised me. He lasted longer than I thought, and actually had Nuclear in trouble for a brief moment. Bob Sinclair: With that showing, though, I don't think anyone's going to be so down on Moore going into the rest of the season. He hung tough as long as he could against the powerhouse. SGRaaize vs. Shawn Arrows (Fans' Pick: Shawn Arrows, 71% // Vegas Odds: Arrows 7:5, Raaize 7:2) Frankie Garnett: Coming up next is a match between two of the League's underachievers last year. Raaize finished season one on a tear, but still had a sub-par record. Arrows apparently hasn't bothered to show off his finisher, and finished with a worse record. Yet for some reason the fans think Arrows is going to win this one. Bob Sinclair: I'm baffled as well, Frankie. Raaize got the better of Arrows last season, beating him in just under seven minutes. Anyhow, there'll be time for speculation later, let's go to Amelia to get us underway. A Portugesa—the national anthem of Portugal—hits the speakers to another rousing chorus of jeers as the first participant in the match walks out. Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Approaching the ring, from Torres Vedras, Portugal, weighing 231 pounds...SGRaaize! Bob Sinclair: Raaize seems a lot more at east this season, Frankie. Linkin Park's "Numb" hits the speakers to herald the imminent arrival of the opponent. Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Raleigh, North Carolina, weighing 212 pounds...Shawn Arrows! Frankie Garnett: Arrows was a late entrant this season, Bob. Maybe he didn't want to come out here and embarrass himself? Bob Sinclair: No, Frankie, I think Arrows was waiting to see how things would play out before committing to a decision. It's what I'd expect from a ring veteran. Definitely a clash of styles here, as a luchador faces off against our other MMA crossover. Frankie Garnett: Wait, does this guy come complete with a mask? Bob Sinclair: Uh, yeah.... Frankie Garnett: Sweet. About time someone admits to being to embarrassed to show up here. Bob Sinclair: ... Approaching the ring, from Tijuana, Mexico, weighing 142 pounds...El Demonio de Sangre! Bob Sinclair: Demonio brings the rudo philosophy of lucha libre into the League. He definitely stands out in the crowd. Frankie Garnett: With a look that can give people nightmares, to boot. The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" Over the audio system a snippet of Dave Mustaine from the song "Scorpion" yells, "I am the Scorpion whoah!!!" This causes the crowd to start booing as a mash up of "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack and "Amazing" by Kanye West hits the speakers. Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds..."The Scorpion" Scott Stevens! Bob Sinclair: Stevens is fairly well known in the southern US; not sure how that will translate to Scotland. Frankie Garnett: I'd be more worried about his striking ability, Bob. Triumph took a lot of punishment to his head this match. I'm not certain if he’ll be able to recover quick enough to stand a chance next week. The Phoenix vs. Diamond (Fans' Pick: Diamond, 79% // Vegas Odds: Diamond 6:5, Phoenix 5:1) Bob Sinclair: Next up is a rematch from last season in Washington, DC. In a match that was overshadowed by what would become the Match of the Season, Diamond managed to hold off Phoenix in one of Phoenix's rare decent performances. The mentality seems to carry over to this season, as Diamond is nearly a 6-1 favorite in Vegas coming into the match tonight. Frankie Garnett: Bob, the guy went 3-11 last season. Diamond had double his win total. That all makes sense to me. Bob Sinclair: In any event, let's go to the ring for our next to last match of the evening. The opening strains of "The Instinct" hit the arena to total silence from the crowd. Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Approaching the ring, from The End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...The Phoenix! Bob Sinclair: I do not envy Phoenix's task tonight. He has to face Diamond in her hometown. If he loses, it starts his season out terribly. If he wins, he may induce an alcohol-fueled riot in Aberdeen tonight. Frankie Garnett: Either way he loses, which is what I have come to expect from the guy. There is a pause as the anticipation builds ever higher. At its' crescendo, an instrumental version of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" hits to a deafening ovation as the hometown girl walks to the ring through the crowd at ringside. masterded
Man Triumph is going to be in early trouble. What is the stat that we are using for healing again? Also if no one else is using it yet I would like Ecstasy of Gold Breakbeat remix as my theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc6rpM7RtB0&feature=fvst

ShadowedFlames
I like "Symphony of Destruction" I just think the other song fits perfectly for someone who is ****y above all else. To be honest, I was getting tired of no music for half the roster last season, so I just arbitrarily assigned something to everyone else. I certainly have no problems letting y'all pick something that isn't GDS rules-breaking material.

i effin rule
Can we send in training yet? Also, I just remembered. In the division reveal show it was said that The Regulator was a chicken-wing suplex. Should be a Regal-Plex. Not that it matters really.
ShadowedFlames
Can we send in training yet? Also, I just remembered. In the division reveal show it was said that The Regulator was a chicken-wing suplex. Should be a Regal-Plex. Not that it matters really. It was the closest thing I could use to describe it in C-Verse terms (at the time I was writing it). Notice how I'm trying to avoid real wrestling federations and personalities? Guess I could call it a Fisherman's Belly to Back Suplex? EDIT: And yes, you can send in training right now if you wanted.

Diamond will be steaming after her loss this week so sorry if she hurts you too badly. I was just thinking that. That's the way things have been going *laughs* I blame the comish for not getting my M&Ms back. Now I'm mad at both the comish and Max for making me lose that match. ShadowedFlames
OK, to hold off the deluge of questions about how the body health mechanic will work, I'll use my character as an example. (This is only fair since I have access to everyone else's build, I should at least share mine. ) The sheet--accurate as of Season Two, Week One's show--can be found here. (I will post this sheet in the first post of this thread as well for easier reference.) During the off-season, I boosted Phoenix's resilience to 15. ($450 cash plus 5 free points) This means that whichever healing method ends up being used, I get 1.15 times that amount. The healing is the greater of the following: 10 points plus your percentage bonus --OR-- 25% of your maximum health, plus your percentage bonus. Using Phoenix as an example, he ended his match with Diamond at 41% head health. Thus, the two conditions work out as follows: 1) Base 10 x 1.15 (resilience bonus) = 11.5 (rounds to 12) 2) 25% of lost health : 100 - 41 = 59 59 x 0.25 = 14.75. (25% of lost) 14.75 x 1.15 (Resilience bonus) = 16.9625 (rounds to 17) Because 17 is more than 12, Phoenix regains 17% of his head health. Thus, he enters week two at 58% head health. I only supply the end-of-match results as a reference. Since no one knows what their opponents' resilience really is (except for mine, now), it adds that factor into the mix. I know that's likely more technical than everyone needs, but are there any questions? EDIT: Also, any resilience purchased does not take effect until after the next match/bye as appropriate. Rationale is that if you're training to get more resilient, you're working towards future injuries--present ones won't magically heal up quicker. moon_lit_tears
Diamond, I'm coming for you!!!!!!!!!!! I like Pink roses and White chocolate. Just so you know I'm not big on Italian food either. So you better pick a better place for dinner. Since I'm sure you meant taking me out to dinner instead of beating me up.

The tap part was aimed at Wrestling Century since he's facing me, but Diamond will be tapping soon enough as well.
Ranson
Why does everyone want to pick on me? It's less "picking on" and more "I like flying body presses from women".
