Riding the Storm

(Booking meeting Part 2)

The Booking Team of ECW were now working on the second phase of the meeting, now debating what is going to be done to the weeks leading up to Wrestlepalooza.

Anthony: Ok, first things first, Kimo is gone. I mean it’s one thing that you put on mediocre matches, but you are sorry as a “bodyguard”, because remember, The Miz didn’t want him, and then he feels that he was protected from firing since Fatu worked here, and now he’s becoming a negative influence? We could save the money for something else.

Dreamer: Ok as soon as Fatu’s contracts ends, we will release Kimo.

Heyman: Ok, well what are so are we going to book for the next show?

Anthony: Well since we posted we posted online, at Wrestlepalloza, we are going to have a 6 man Scramble for the main event for the ECW title. So far the person who is “automatically” in the Scramble is Antonio Bank$, who is the current champion. Any ideas who we should add for the other 5?

Piper: What about Austin Aries?

Anthony: Well I don’t think Aries is over enough for the ECW Title. Besides I have some plans for him in the near future for his “Anti-ECW” crusade storyline that going on right now. But I have an idea who should be in a slot.

Marc: Really? Who?

Anthony: Dreamer.

Dreamer: Why me?

Anthony: Simple your name is synonymous with ECW.

Dreamer: But I don’t think I should win the title.

Anthony: “I never said anything about you WINNING the ECW Title. I was just throwing your name out there about being in the scramble. I mean it’s not finalized.

As Dreamer went on explaining who he thought should be in the 5 slots in the Extreme Scramble, I get a text on my phone. It wasn’t the stranger that responded before but a “familiar” nemesis.

“Hello, I see you guys are doing well, and for that I applaud and congratulate you. I didn’t think you would last this long. Well I have a surprise for you. Good luck. –Bischoff.”

I interrupt the meeting and I tell Sophie to put the computer on the projector screen. She goes to the website link that I was given by Eric Bischoff. The link was something that I was all too familiar with.

Kid Kash has just joined World Championship Wrestling

That was the headline of the site that I saw, and it started to not scare me like the others, in fact, I was the opposite, it’s like the old saying goes, “imitation is the greatest form of flattery.” While everyone in the room is panicking, I thought of a GREAT idea.

Anthony: Guys please, calm down. I think I have a perfect idea; in fact this might be a blessing in disguise!

Le Grizzly: What can you do? Get Kid Kash back?

Anthony: No. In fact anyone who has left us to go to a bigger company, they are gone. They will eventually come back when they realize the grass isn’t greener, or not at all. In fact with all these companies taking our talent, I am actually flattered.

Piper: Flattered? Honored?! Have you taken too many chair shot to the head Anthony?

Anthony: No. Listen. When people go and try to steal our talent, I mean what does that say? That says that the performer is very talented, but also, it shows that we are doing something RIGHT! I mean it’s a combination of booking and storytelling. It’s like a formula so to speak. It takes talent, plus booking, plus getting the people interested. They all have to be connected. Without one of these, we won’t be successful. And look at our numbers? Week after week, we are pulling usually sold out shows and decent numbers on pay per view, despite our size. Look, I think we should end this meeting for today, so no one gets stressed out. I will see everyone later this week.

As everyone leaves the room, Heyman stays behind, and begins to inquire about the plans that I had in mind.

Heyman: So what does this plan you got in mind involving Kash?

Anthony: I got a question, do you ever follow “magicians and magic” tricks?

Heyman: No, I don’t, but I don’t know what that has to do with this.

Anthony: Simple. The secret to magic tricks is “Misdirection”. The magician makes you pay attention to his left hand, while taking away the focus from the right. That the same thing that we are going to do. You see, WCW and all the other promotions think because they can take away a star that we are pushing that it will cripple us, but in the end….we will come out better for it.

Heyman: Umm I still don’t know what you are talking about.

Anthony: Then I guess we are going to have to wait till the next show to find out. Because I have a plan, and believe me, if it works out the way I want, ECW is going to have the last laugh.

Anthony gives Heyman as slightly devious smile.

To Be Continued.

ECW Breaking News

ECW being Shaken Up?

Well there are some rumblings in the ECW Locker Room and the Booking Teams. There has been strong rumors that ECW are going to shake up the roster and start incorporating Divisions and Ranking Systems. We caught up with ECW Co Owner Logan Anthony and he has confirmed that it is INDEED TRUE.

Anthony: Right now, me and Paul (Heyman) have sat down and thought up ideas on not only how to stir things up within the locker room, but also to have a sense of “order and structure” to determine worthy contenders for titles. The divisions will be broken down into 5, ECW Title, TV Title, Tag Team Titles, in addition to two other titles, the ECW Internet title, which will focus on new Indy Stars that are new to the promotion and will more than likely be future stars within ECW. And the other title is the ECW Womens title known as the “Extreme ViXXXens Title” . Now, I know that there has NEVER been a Women’s Title in ECW, with are recent partnership with All Women’s promotion Shimmer and with our two female stars on the roster (Cheerleader Mellissa and MsChif) I believe that it’s a sign of things to come. Now, make no mistake, the women NEED to have talent. I mean, my priorities are as follows Talent first, Beauty Second.”

When asked when the Divisions will take place, he responded the day AFTER the PPV “Wrestlepalooza.” Also he made this comment when dealing with the divisions.

Anthony: “For the division Ranking system, we are only dealing with the TOP 5. Those rankings will determine who gets title shots and how many. It will be consisted on Win/Loss records and the average “heat” (score) of the match itself. That wrestler can only challenge for a title, if he is only in the top 5. Also you can’t be in more than one division unless that person is in a Tag Team Division, that the only exception to the rule. And the last message is to the entire locker room, Make every match count, because even though the rankings don’t take place until the end of the month, keep in mind you are being watched. Good Luck”

The Ranking Standings are posted below, more as this develops.

Extreme Measures, episode X

“Pushing The Limits”

The ECW Committee said that there would be some “changes” going on in ECW and most of them taking place right after Wrestlepalooza at the end of the month, and the “warning” that Paul Heyman rang true, “From now on, wrestle every match as if it COUNTS” And believe me on this, tonight, these guys are going to fight as such!

Black Tiger vs Ms.Chif

Tiger and Ms. Chif have been on opposite sides of the war that is brewing with their allies. Tiger allying with Cheerleader Melissa, while Chif was allying with Kid Kash. Chif as even went so far as interfere in on Kash’s behalf with a match with Tiger, prompting the return of the “injured” Cheerleader Melissa. Now the war between Melissa and Kash has to end, and Tiger and Chif have became pivotal roles in this war. This match will very important not just for Tiger and Chif but for Kash and Melissa as well. If Chif wins, shes allowed ringside in Kash’s corner, but if Tiger wins, she is BARRED from ringside!

No DQ Falls Count ANYWHERE Match!

Cheerleader Melissa vs Kid Kash

This battle has been brewing for weeks between the Notorious K.I.D. and “Miss Trouble” . Over the last few battles, Melissa has came up short against the Notorious one, not because she couldn’t beat him, but because each every time Kash has came up with a short cut. He has even went so far as to enlist her former nemesis from Shimmer, Ms. Chif! And they did the unthinkable and tried to break her neck. But now this is the final battle, and there will be NO EXCUSES.

Rob Conway vs Jerry Lynn

With Conway’s highly publicized departure, Conway wanted to add insult to injury, by getting a victory over Jerry Lynn. Lynn is one of the most underrated and technically gifted wrestlers in the world today! Will Lynn give him a fitting “parting gift”? or will Conway have the “last laugh”?

Kimo vs ??

Kimo now says that he wants to make a statement and stop living in his “cousin” EKMO’s shadow as the “least” talented one. ECW has heard Kimo’s request and now they are going to granted, the only twist is, they never revealed who his opponent is!

Extreme Scramble Qualifier #1

Yoshihiro Tajiri w/Dawn Marie vs ECW TV Champion Scorpio

Both of these men have been impressing the audiences and the ECW higher ups lately. Tajiri has snapped the winning streak of the Damaja and has had some impressive victories. Scorpio defeated former ECW TV Champion Rico Dinero to once again be the TV champion for the 5th time! Now both of these men are going to have to lay it all out there if they wanna shot to win the ECW Title at Wrestlepalooza!

Final Battle- Anything Goes, Unsanctioned Match

Shane Helms vs Rico Dinero

And like all things, everything must end. Helms and Dinero has had a various bloody encounters. But it was almost like a storybook where both competitors ironically joined the promotion around the same time, Dinero has had more of a illustrious career, winning the TV Title his very first night in the promotion. Now, where Dinero has gained prestige, Helms has earned the respect of the fans. Nothing was given to Helms and he was repeatedly screwed out of not of the TV title but the World title as well. Helms got a measure of revenge, when he “assisted” 2 Cold Scorpio in defeating Dinero for the Television Championship. Now, this is the Final Battle between these two men, and the referee is only there to count the pinfall or submission. May God have mercy on them both.

Extreme Scramble Qualifier #2

Dave Finlay vs Logan Anthony Gates

The hard fighting Irishman wants more than anything to get another chance at the ECW Championship, as well as his arch rival in Antonio Bank$. The last time these two met, Bank$ stole a victory and the title, (although Bank$ didn’t know that his stable interfered on his behalf and helped him win the title.) Logan Gates has been paying his dues in ECW, despite being a rookie in the ECW battleground, but never the less, he hasn’t backed from anyone, especially from the Samoan Terrors of Ekmo and Kimo. Now in this match, which will prevail in this match? The experience and toughness of Finlay or the heart and perseverance of Gates?

Extreme Scramble Qualifier #3

Ron “The Truth” Killings vs The Sandman

The Sandman is no stranger to ECW Gold, winning every single title since being with the promotion, including winning the ECW Title an impressive 5 times! Now, he going to try and make it 6 times! However, Ron Killings will be standing in his way. Killings is a little worse for wear, after facing Shane Helms in an absolutely BRUTAL match! So will Sandman get a chance to add to his title linage, or will the “truth” make a “Killing” and make it in the scramble?

And also, Antonio Bank$ has an “announcement” that he is going to make at Extreme Measure X!

Final Card:

Dark Match: Jimmy Rave vs Matt Cross vs Danny Havoc

Main Show:

Black Tiger vs MsChif: The winner will determine if Ms.Chif will be allowed at Ringside during the Kash/Melissa Match.

Kimo vs ??

Jerry Lynn vs Rob Conway

Cheerleader Melissa vs Kid Kash (No DQ, Falls count anywhere match)

Tajiri vs Scorpio – Extreme Scramble Qualifier

Rico Dinero vs Shane Helms- Unsanctioned Match, Anything Goes

Dave Finlay vs Logan Anthony Gates – Extreme Scramble Qualifier

None of them had their wrestling clothes but their street clothes, and Melissa had on jeans and T-shirt with her taped fist! Both Kash and Melissa fought everywhere in the arena, and they took it Hardcore! Kash actually Powerbombed her thru the concession table at one point, but he didn’t make the pin! He kept yelling, “<strong id="">YOU ASKED FOR THIS</strong>!!” He then tried to “kiss’ her but then she kicked him “down low’ and did a <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">SPINNING BACKFIST</span> on him! She grabbed every weapon she could, including a chair, Kendo Stick, Vending Trays and even a cheese grater!! (What the hell!!) She scraped it against his face busting him open! And then for good measure, she did the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">CURB STOMP</span> on the arena STEPS! That prompted a “She’s HARDCORE” chant! As she was trying to leading him back to the ring, Ms.Chif blindsided her and attacked her. The referee tried to admonish and get rid of her but she yelled “I AM NOT AT RING SIDE!” Melissa tried to fight her but, Chif sprayed “Green mist” ala “Muta’ and then hit her with a chair! She yelled at Kid Kash to finish her off, but he told her to go to the back! Kash tried to drag her to the ring, and finish her, hitting her with a <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Spike Brainbuster</span>! And he went for the pin, but miracously, she kicked out!! Kash then picked her up, and ripped her shirt apart, further trying to embarrass her! He then started doing Ric Flair Chops to her, and an Elbow Strike to her face! Kash went out of the ring and tried to set up a table, he then picked her up and put her on the top rope! Kash then tried a powerbomb, but then Melissa countered it in midair in a Hurracanrana, just like Kash did years ago, as a last ditch desperation move! The finish came when Kash tried to use a chair on her, but then Black Tiger in street clothes came out and grabbed the chair and did the Roaring Elbow on him! Tiger then propped Kash up, he picked up Melissa and did the gesture to “Finish him”. While Melissa was going to the top rope, Tiger set up another table! Melissa with all her strength left, used her last bit of energy left and did the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">HIGH SPIRITS (Kudoh Drive</span>r) off the top rope and thru the table!! Joey Styles Screamed “OH MY GOD” and the crowd chanted “HOLY SH*T!!!” She collapse on top of Kash for her hard fought victory! After the match, she went to hug Tiger, only “another Tiger” came out from the back! The “Tiger” that helped Melissa unmasked and it was none other <br id=""><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/UrbanSamurai227/AustinAries22.jpg" alt="" id=""><br id=""><br id="">…..<strong id=""><span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">AUSTIN ARIES</span></strong>???  He then smiled and attacked Kid Kash and delivered 2 <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Brainbusters</span> on the shattered table and a <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">450 Splash</span> on the already destroyed Kid Kash. The title was not on the line but both men fought like it was. Even though extreme methods were allowed, they were rarely used, because both men wanted to see who the better man was. There was plenty of near falls in this fast paced 17 minute match, and both men came close to pinning the other with Tajiri hitting Scorpio with a high speed “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Buzzsaw Kick</span>” but that was only for a 2 count. Scorpio wouldn’t be outdone with his version with the “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Pele Kick</span>” and he hit the “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Tumbleweed</span>” but again it was only for a two count. Keep in mind, this wasn’t a wrestling match, this was a war, the only reason the referee was to count the pinfall or submission, that’s it. Much like their previous battles before, this one didn’t disappoint. With everyone reading the internet, everyone thought that Helms was going to lose his final match in ECW, and there were points in the match where he almost pulled out a victory such as doing <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">“the Eye of the Hurricane”</span> on the concrete, and  a chair assisted <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Shining Wizard</span>. Dinero however showed that he was equally hardcore when hit did the “Dinero Express” on Helms with a table propped up. And he then did the <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“Near Death Experience”</span> on the concrete busting Helms open! The finish came when both men were brawling in the ring bleeding, when Dinero hit a low blow kick to Helms and then he did his own version of the <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“Verterbreaker”</span>, Shane Helms own finishing move, which shockingly , Helms barely kicked out of! Then Helms, very bloody and broken could barely stand, and he tried to fight Dinero but Dinero got the better of him, and hit not one, but TWO <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“Near Death Experiences</span>” on the chair for the pinfall and the win. So when the referee said that “he” was going to die, he wasn’t referring to Bank$, but to the name that Long drew out of the “bag”. Bank$ gave Spike a chance to leave the ring, telling him that he is out of his league. But Spike walks up to Bank$, chest to chest ( or in his case, face to chest) and he tells the referee to ring the bell. Spike definitely didn’t back down from the champion, doing as many moves as he could to take out the champion. Since both well versed in Puroresu style of wrestling, and Finlay was very stiff in his maneuvers, but Gates gave as good he got. Finlay and Gates had also equal amount of offense, even though Finlay was the more experienced of the two. The match went back and forth with the audience couldn’t determine who was going to win this match. Finlay delivered a “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Rolling Fireman’s Carry</span>” on Gates, but Gates countered later on and hit the “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Hit Any Key to Continue</span>” <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">(Shining Wizard</span>) on Finlay but only for a two. The finish came when Gates hit a <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Spike DDT</span> on the chair but instead of pinning him, he decided to go up to the top rope and hit the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">“Please Don’t Die” Shooting Star Press</span>, a move that he doesn’t often do, on to Finlay and Finlay moved at the last second, having Gates crash and burned down below! Finlay then gathered his bearings, and Finlay decided to finish him off with ALL 3 of his finishers! He delivered the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Air Raid Crash</span>, the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Rolling Fireman’s Carry </span>and<span style="color: #0000ff;" id=""> Tombstone Piledriver</span> for win! Afterwards, while Finlay was celebrating in the ring, Anthony goes and stares down Finlay face to face, and he slowly extends his hand to Finlay with respect. And since this match was no rules, no disqualifications, this was clearly no problem for the Sandman as he went after Killings very early in the match, with his Kendo Stick! After various Kendo Strikes and hardcore moves and at one point, you thought that Killings would have gone down for the count! After doing such moves as the<span style="color: #0000ff;" id=""> “Rolling Rock” Senton</span>, and the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Drop Toe Hold </span>on to a folded out chair, however the tide would turn in Truth’s favor, when Sandman was going to do his finisher, “the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">White Russian Legsweep</span>” on Truth,  T-Lo would throw some sort of liquid that was in his “Pimp Chalice”, blinding Sandman. Truth then would do such maneuvers as the <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“Truth and Consequences” </span>and the <span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">“<span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Lie Dete</span></span></span><span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial; font-size: 16px; color: #ff0000;" id="">c</span><span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial; font-size: 16px;" id=""><span style="color: #ff0000;" id=""><span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">tor”</span> Flying Elbow</span> Truth would then go for his finisher, <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“The Truth Hurts” (Jumping Reverse STO)</span>, but Sandman pushed him off and hit him with a modified “Yakuza-like” Kick. Sandman started mounting an offense once again, and then this time he did hit the <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">“White Russian Leg Sweep”</span> on Killings. T-Lo once again would get involved, but Sandman grabbed T-Lo, and dragged him into the ring and started beating on him. While the referee, tried to restrain Sandman, and get T-Lo out of the ring. While the referee is distracted getting T-Lo out of the ring, a huge man in a hood comes into the ring from the crowd and does the <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">“Backfist to the Future”</span>, but Sandman barely stood up. The man took off his hood to reveal it was<strong id=""><span style="color: #ff0000;" id=""> <br id=""><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/UrbanSamurai227/Eddie_Kingston.jpg" alt="" id=""><br id="">Eddie Kingston!</span></strong>!! Kingston did the <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Burning Lariat </span>knocking Sandman down, which T-Lo immediately left the ring, and then Killings took advantage and delivered the “<span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Axe for the Truth” (Axe Kick)</span> for the win. After the match, the members of the Playa’s Club congratulated Killings over his “victory” but Antonio Bank$ was not too pleased at the outcome and a fight almost ensued between Killings and Bank$! Thus closing the show, once again with the Playa’S Club despite having 2 members in the Extreme Scramble, are arguing amongst themselves.</span></p><p id=""><span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial; font-size: 16px;" id="">Winner and Advancing into the finals: Ron Killings</span></p><p id=""><span style="font-family: 'arial narrow', arial; font-size: 16px;" id="">Rating: 71/C</span></p></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="clear: both; position: relative; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; border-top-style: solid; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-color: transparent; border-right-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-left-color: transparent; "><div style="padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; display: block; "><div align="center" style="position:relative;z-index:2;" id=""><img style="margin-right: 25px; width: 150px; height: 150px; " src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/UrbanSamurai227/TommyDreamer3.jpg" width="150px" height="150px" alt="Participant 1"><img style="margin-left: 25px; width: 150px; height: 150px; " src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/UrbanSamurai227/Sylvain.jpg" width="150px" height="150px" alt="Participant 2"><img style="position:absolute;right:259px;top:-20px" alt="Versus" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/content/public/versus/lgvs_alt04.png" title="Versus"><div style="position:absolute;left:445px;top:55px;"><img width="211px" height="117px" alt="grade" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/content/public/grades/plain1/d_.png" title="grade"></div><div style="margin-top: 5px; height: auto; "><div style="font-size: 24px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; display: block; "><div id=""><p id=""><span style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">Post-Match: <span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Tommy Dreamer</span> defeated <span style="color: #ff0000;" id="">Sylvan Greiner </span>with the “<span style="color: #0000ff;" id="">Bad Dreams</span>”</span></p><p id=""><span style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">Rating: 41/D</span></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="padding:0 5px;overflow:hidden;" id=""><div id=""><div style="height: 18px; cursor: n-resize; "></div><div style="clear: both; position: relative; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; margin-top: 5px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; height: auto; border-top-style: solid; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-color: transparent; border-right-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-left-color: transparent; "> <div style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; display: block; "><div id=""><p style="text-align: center;" id=""><span style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">Final Rating: 66/C+</span></p><p style="text-align: center;" id=""><span style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'arial narrow', arial;" id="">PPV Buy rate: 0.21</span></p><p id=""> </p><p id=""> </p></div></div> </div></div></div></div></div>

Sweet show man.

-The girl power stuff was put over well.

-lol at Kash jobbing twice in the one show and once wasn't even a match!

-Lightning seems like a potentially interesting character.

-Nice way to send Conway out, lol.

-Excellent match with Scorpio and Tajiri. Put both men over and Tajiri looks a potential dark horse for the scramble.

-Playa's club continue to be an intriguing stable with all their dodgy doings and internal tension.

-Nice farwell to Helms and I'm glad he went out in a manner deserving after what he brought to ECW.

-lol Spike. Match went as expected with him almost surprising and getting the win but putting over the champ.

-Ooh stretcher match, will love to see that happen!

-Nice of you to put Finlay over. ;)

-Your main event put over the scramble and the Playa's club even more but what I really liked about it, was how you still manage to get your money's worth out of Sandman even in this advanced part of his career. :)

Again, nice show.

ECW Wrestler Profile

Scorpio

http://www.oneprowrestling.com/inc/image.php/4d5915936180e.jpg/180/1/fill

Real Name: Charles Skaggs

Weight: 229 Pounds

Age: 45

Aliases: 2 Cold Scorpio, Flash Funk

ECW Record: 7 Wins, 0 Draws, 7 Losses

Current Titles/Accolades: Former Tag Team Champion (w/ Jerry Lynn), Current ECW Television Champion

Finishers: Scorpio Splash (450 Splash), The Tumbleweed (Corkscrew Somersault Legdrop)

Theme Song: Jungle Boogie by Kool in the Gang

Synopsis: Scorpio was one of the handful of the Old School ECW Alumnist to be brought back for the revival of Extreme Championship Wrestling! Despite the fact that he is up there in age, being the 4th oldest on the roster at 42 (being beaten out by Finlay at 49, New Jack at 44, and Sabu at 43), Scorpio can take to the air at the greatest of ease just like competitors half his age!!

Scorpio was one of the first resigned to the re-boot of ECW, and at the very first PPV, Guilty as Charged, he was one half of the “surprise entrants” to be in the Fatal Four Way tag team scramble to determine the first ever tag team champions along with ECW alumnist, Jerry Lynn. The surprising thing about those two being tagged is that they went up against 3 other teams that have been established and Lynn/Scorpio that was their first paring, and they won the ECW Tag Team Championship that night! They were named the “Rookie Veterans” due to the fact that even though they were in the business so long, they were new to tagging with each other. The Veterans would have their first “signs” of dissention when Scorpio say that he felt that he was “above” the Tag Team titles, which his partner Lynn initially took offense to, even though Scorpio claims it was taken out of “context”.

Lynn and Scorpio would defend the titles from the likes of tag teams such as the Backseat Boyz and The Lords of the Ring (Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore). At one point, LOTR defeated the Veterans at Extreme Measures episode 4 in a non-title match, earn a shot at the tag team titles at the next PPV, Living Dangerously, which the champions retained. On Episode 5 of EM, Ron Conway defeated Scorpio, (with the help of the Tag Team, Straight Thuggin, and later that night Eddie Kingston defeated Jerry Lynn, via interference from LOTR). Since the champions were pinned by members of an opposing teams, ECW Co-Owner, Paul Heyman decided that it would be a Triple Threat Tag Team Match at EM episode 7, which the champions once again retained the title.

Straight Thuggin would not be denied title contention when their manager, Teddy “T-Lo” Long used his influence to grant his team another title shot against the champs, in exchange for his newest acquisition, (which was at the time Rico Dinero aka Elijiah Burke.) Also the stipulation, whoever the loser was, they could not team for the duration of whoever was champion. The champions tag team reign ended at the end of April at the PPV “Barely Legal”, therefore signaling the Rookie Veterans “temporary split”.

After the split, Scorpio received a his first singles victory over Kid Kash, and then later he was chosen as the mystery opponent for Rico Dinero, with the Television title on the line. Scorpio shocked everyone with the victory, despite Dinero’s affiliation with the Playa$ Club. This would signify Scorpio’s 5th reign with the TV Title. His most recent match to date was an Extreme Scramble Qualifying match to determine who would be one of the six men to be in the Extreme Scramble at the upcoming PPV at Wrestlepalooza against Tajiri! It was a hard fought battle, but in the end, Scorpio fell short to Tajiri’s “M.Bison Stomp”.

Scorpio can put on a high flying show and take it to anyone that challenges him. The skies are the limit for this veteran, which some are saying he could possibly be future ECW Champion, the only title that he has not claimed yet. I guess it is true what they say, “something’s do get better with age”.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;">“Inspiration from an unlikely source”</span></span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Wednesday, Week 3, May 2010 </span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

</p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Extreme Measure will be in 3 days, Wrestlepalooza PPV in less than 2 week. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Logan Anthony decided that he and Paul had been pushing the staff and the booking team pretty hard the last few weeks. He was trying to lessen the damage that all of the bigger promotions were causing when they kept stealing all of ECW top tier talent. It was stressing everyone out, but not as bad as the two owners, Logan and Paul. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony (Speaking in first person): I needed to give the guys at ECW a break; we all have been working insanely hard to keep ECW afloat. The money wasn’t the problem. Since opening up ECW, we amassed about $2 Million dollars, not to mention that we secured a TV deal next season. So I figured, I give the team a few days off and relax because next week we need to be on our “A-game” because this would be our last Pay Per View before the start of the re-launch of ECW’s “Hardcore TV”. Since I figured that we were doing a good job, I thought I would treat myself to a little reward. So I took myself to a little sports bar and grill not too far from my house. I figured I walk there, besides no one would notice me, because L.A. Gates and Logan Anthony are two separated entities. Besides I doubt these people watched wrestling in the first place. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

After eating a good T-bone steak and drinking a few ice cold beers, I pulled out my briefcase and laptop and started to go back to work. Actually, I wasn’t fully into my work, because I was watching one of those old College Bowl Football game, on one of the big screen TV’s. I started looking at the some of the matches that I had saved to my computer and began taking notes like I do every night, when I suddenly get a message from my phone.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Message:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><strong> “Grenier, Scorpio, Lynn, Dudley, and Tajiri have been approached by WCW. Sorry. Sophie”</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

I wanted to get upset, but honestly, I couldn’t. I mean I knew this was going to happen; in fact I would do the same exact thing if I was in their shoes. After a while, I wouldn’t try and let the bad news overtake me. I just continued with my beer. As I watched the College Football, I started to think and wonder why college football is more competitive than professional. As I sat back and wondered, I realize is that collegiate level sports the teams fight and put everything out there, because they are hungry. I mean they have to be picked up and chosen to play for a bowl championship, even though there are plenty of bowl game championship, let alone the main championship. So can the same idea and theory work in wrestling? </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

The gears in my head started to grind in my head. I mean granted ROH tried to adopt the same principles early in its creation but it worked for a while, but now with the idea of me adding a Jr. Heavyweight division and a women’s division which I have affectionately renamed it “Vixxxen’s” division, maybe losing some guys didn’t seem to look too bad anymore, I mean after all, it business, nothing lasts forever. So I started formulating an idea for a ranking system. The premise is simple; the quality of the matches vs. the rating of the matches, and the ranking/quality of the opponent. In addition to that another thing would factor into it, will be the outcome of the matches. So for example, the fans don’t want to see a guy ascend in the rankings when he wins by shortcuts every week by count outs or DQ so to speak. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

After spending 2 hours in that bar and grill, I had an avalanche of ideas in my head concerning ECW. But the main concern was the Vixxxen’s division, I mean nothing like this has been done before in ECW, and I don’t want to be like WWE, where the women look hot, but they can’t wrestle their way out of a paper bag. I go to my phone and call a friend of mine…</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Voice:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> “Hello”</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>“Hey Quack, it’s me”</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

The friend was none other than Indy Wrestling legend and current booker of one of our partner promotions, Shimmer, “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>“Hey man, what’s going on, I heard about ECW losing a few guys that sucks. “</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>

</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>Well it gets better; they are going after 5 more guys. Main Event and Upper Midcarders. </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>Jesus, ROH is out for blood…</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> It’s not ROH this time, its WCW this time. </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>

</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>Damn, anything I can do? </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> As a matter of fact...there is, you got any ladies that you could loan me? I am trying to do a female division in ECW.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>

</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>Sure, as long as you don’t sign them or try to steal them from us, I don’t mind helping you guys out. Your email address the same? </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>

</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony: </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>Yeah, why?</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> I am gonna send you a file of all the talent I got and some video’s. Let me know what you need and we will help. </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em>

</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Anthony:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> Thanks Quack, I owe you</em></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;">.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

Quack:</span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><em> I will hold you to it. </em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

After Quack hung up the phone, 15 minute later I get a huge file with female wrestler, not just with women in the U.S. but overseas as well. Suddenly now I feel our luck is turning up. Finishing up my beer, I started to leave and I decided I am going to pitch the ideas I came up with tonight, with the booking team and Paul tomorrow. Funny thing is … all this came from watching a football game while drinking a beer! </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

To Be Continued. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;">

</span></p>

The L.A. Times

“The Ranking System”

The following is rules and regulations for the Ranking system being instituted for the ECW Championship Ranking system. These rules maybe changed or altered in the future.

#1. Challengers can only challenge that are within three spots in their ranking: In order for challengers to challenge the champion of a specific title, the challenger must be NO MORE than two ranking spots from the title holder. For example: if Wrestler A is the title holder, then the wrestlers with #1 and #2 rankings can challenge for the title. Now, challengers who are ranked #3 or below can challenge the champion, however the title will not be on the line.

#2. Ranking positions are attained by win/loss record, quality of matches and the quality difficulty of opponents. Also the ranking will be determined also by outcome (finishes) of matches. So for example if Wrestler A had 4 matches, 2 by victories by pinfall, 1 victory by countout and 1 by DQ (which he cause) and another Wrestler had 3 matches, 2 pinfall victories, and 1 loss, but that loss was to a higher placed opponent, then the second wrestler would receive a higher ranking than Wrestler A.

#3. Championship challenging: When a person who is within a rank to challenge, makes a challenge to the champion, depending on the ranking, that person has a limited number of “title shots”. (Those who are within 1 ranking place will have up to 3 shots, 2 ranking places will have 2 shots and 3 ranking places will have one). If the person challenging does not beat the champion within those allotted chances, that person will be dropped in rankings and if they are still in ranking contention, they are not allowed to challenge for that title again, for 5 title matches against the champion.

#4. Ranking Movement: The ways a person can move up (or down) in rankings is if a wrestler who is ranked beats another wrestler who is higher ranking than him/her. If that happens, the victor get that person’s rank. If both people competing were ranked, it would cause the rankings to “Switch” so to speak if a lower ranking wrestler beat a higher one. Now if a ranked person would have a string of losing matches or relies on “DQ or count outs”, that person would be in danger of losing their ranking. If the champion loses the match and title, he would automatically be demoted to the rank of the individual who beat him/her, however he can envoke their rematch clause, but in this case, no matter what the rank of the individual who previously defeated him, that person would get only ONE rematch.

#5. At the end of every month after the pay per view, the rankings will be recalculated and ranking placement will possibly be changed. The only person on the ranking system that will not be changed is the current title holder of that division. Once again, just because an individual is in the title ranking in one month doesn’t mean that he will remain on there the next.

This ranking system will be instituted the next month, following the ECW PPV “Wrestlepalooza” Any changes to the rules of this system will be made accordingly.

ECW Report and Rumors!

Breaking News!!!

We have it on it on good reliable authority, that one of ECW’s stars, “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Yoshihiro Tajiri was approached by ECW Rival promotion, World Championship Wrestling, the Global Size wrestling promotion in order to sign with their promotion. We are happy to report that Tajiri’s management has confirmed that they have DECLINED the offer to sign with the Number 2 promotion stating that Mr. Tajiri is focusing on his career in Japan and with ECW! The management in ECW is pleased and there are rumors and speculation that due to Tajiri’s Loyalty to the promotion, he maybe “rewarded” by ECW. More as this develops.

“Arrogant Much?”

After finally dispatching of his long -time nemesis in Shane Helms, D’Angelo Dinero has asked for a rematch with the Current 5 time ECW Television Champion, Scorpio, from GM Paul Heyman. Heyman has animosity with Dinero current heel affiliation, the Playa$ Club, and wonders what would Dinero be willing to put on the line for another shot at the title? Dinero says that he is good enough to beat anyone on the roster, that he is willing to put his career! So Heyman made a Loser Leaves ECW match between Scorpio and Dinero!

Dinero made this “statement” “You know you would think that Paul would have learned not to put people’s careers on the line! I mean didn’t he see what happened last week when I faced Helms? People “Say” that he left the company for someone else, but we all know he got tired of being beat down by me..and he left in shame. Now he wants to end someone ELSE’s career? Paul, when you have another superstar leave your promotion, be sure you put the blame on the person who deserves it…Yourself.”

Extreme Measures: Episode XI

The Backseat Boyz vs Straight Thuggin (Non-Title Match)

Straight Thuggin has been the reigning Tag Team champions since last month, and there is no sign of slowing down. After winning the titles, they said they would take on call comers, and not they have to back up the claim in Indy Legendary Tag Team known as the Backseat Boyz. Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere have been teaming for years and now they refused to be on the back burner any longer. Even though this is a non-title match up, can the Backseat Boyz get a victory over the tag team champions, and possibly be in line for a tag team title shot? Or will the wave of momentum continue for the tag team champions?

Extreme Scramble Qualifier

Rob Van Dam vs Sabu in anAmbulance Match

These two guys have been tag team partners as well as opponents for a very long time, and now is no exception. There is only one spot left in the Extreme Scramble at Wrestlepalooza, but they are not going to determine this match in a normal fashion. They are going to do it in one of the matches that they have done against each other in the past! An Ambulance match!

Scorpio vs D’Angelo Dinero for the ECW TV Title

**Stipulation: The Loser of the match will leave ECW**

So Dinero made a deal with the Devil, so to speak and now he has to put his money where his mouth is. Since “running’ his longtime nemesis, Shane Helms, out of ECW, he has been very adamant about invoking his rematch clause for the ECW Television title, and he wants to go so much further by “Ending another star’s career by SHEER Embarrasment”. General Manager Paul Heyman, gave Dinero a rematch at the title, but he decided to “up the ante” so to speak. He made this match a loser leaves ECW match as well. So if Dinero wins, he gets another notch on his belt on who he made leave the promotion. However, if he fails to regain the title, the only career he may have cut short, IS HIS OWN!

All this plus Cheerleader Melissa will call out Austin Aries on why he helped her in her match against former ECW wrestler, Kid Ka$h.

On the next Episode of Extreme Measures.
