John Sanders is renamed, so no worry not knowing who he is. He did debut very close to the show date, so that's a hint!

Just wanted to pop in and say the show's coming along nicely. I just finished writing a pretty fun promo for some of the ladies, and it should be up either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Oh, and this thread just reached 10,500 views! I'm not one to get upset over people not making prediction posts (Not anymore at least!) but I do care a lot about the topic views. The let me know if people are reading, which they clearly are! So, I'd just like to say thank you to all my readers, and I hope to continue to push out some quality stuff.

Friday Week 1, August 2012

In front of the sold out Biker Museum crowd

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/RipChord_ager.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/JayChord.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/ElMitico.jpg

The Legend, The Prodigal Son, and The Mystical One

Rip Chord:
You’re both here for one reason.

In the simple, basic office of Rip Chord, El Mitico and Jay Chord stood side by side in front of the legendary wrestler’s heavy oak desk. He sat confidently, his rough, worn exterior oozing charisma.

RC:
Both of you’ve shown me that you got what it takes. Jay, you aren’t afraid to do what it takes to win. I’m proud to say that you take after me. You’ve got a champion’s blood, and you act like it. As far as you go [Rip nods to Mitico], I hear you’ve got the blood of a champion, too.

El Mitico:
[Grinning]
Si, senor. Four generations of it!

RC:
Hmmph. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of your family. In any case, I’ve seen you go out there time and time again and get your ass kicked all over that ring. Patriot’s done it, Ota’s done it, hell, Jay already did it back at the Invitational. But the thing is, you keep bouncing back. You beat the hell out of that bastard Patriot, you put down Ota, and now, I wanna see if you can get a little payback against Jay. Ya see, in three weeks, you two are gonna be stepping in the ring one more time. At The Battle of the Mid Atlantic, you two are gonna go at it for the number one contender spot.

Jay Chord:
But dad, I already beat this masked freak! Why do I have to do it again?

RC:
Shut the hell up! I told you to make me proud last month. You had a good start beating Jean, but this is just taking 3 steps forward and 3 steps back!

JC:
You got the saying wrong, dad…

RC:
I said shut it! The fact is, I may have fought dirty, and I may have cheated, but I never backed down from a fight, and, as far as I’m concerned, that’s exactly what you’re trying to do.

EM:
It seems to me the same way, amigo.

Mitico stepped up to Jay, chest to chest, and stared the prodigal son in the eye.

EM:
I showed the world what I think of and do to cowards when I beat American Patriot. Do not think that I will keep myself from doing the exact same to you.

Mitico continued to stare down Jay, wild eyed, forcing him to back away a bit. Then, suddenly, Mitico spit down at Jay’s feet before walking out of the room, his cape billowing behind him.

RC:
You see, boy, that’s the fire you need.

Cam Jones & Miller Fforde vs.

The Ring Generals made an appearance in MAW two years ago, but it seems that this time, they’re here to stay. It’s a good thing, too, because after and exciting match with MAW’s resident dojo graduates team, the duo from New York came out on top after Marv Statler hit Cam Jones with a Backdrop Backbreaker and Dean Waldorf came charging in to boot his head off as Statler held him in place. The match was short, and The Ring Generals used their time wisely to inform the fans here in the Biker Museum exactly why they’re so well regarded.

The Ring Generals win, 44

The Fire and the Fury

Eddie Cornell wandered around backstage, looking for someone.

Eddie Cornell:
Rivera! Where the hell are you?

Cornell came around a corner, still shouting, and stopped dead. Anger flashed across his face.

EC:
And what, exactly, are you doing?

Lee Rivera stood still, a deer in the headlights look on his face. In his hand he held a paintbrush, and stood across from a painting of a salmon boxing a bear. It was actually quite good.

Lee Rivera:
Umm, I’m painting bro. It’s for you!

Cornell looked at the painting a moment and then curled his lip.

EC:
It’s rubbish.

LR:
No it’s not. It’s art!

EC:
A three year old could do better.

LR:
[scoffs]
Dude, a three year old doesn’t have the motor skills or the knowledge to pull off a painting like this.

EC:
Oh yeah? When I was three, I was one of the most renowned--Wait a damn minute!

LR:
What? The most renowned what?

EC:
I need you to help me get ready for our match, that’s what!

LR:
Not only does that not answer my question, but we don’t even have a match together tonight, brah.

EC:
But at Battle of the Mid Atlantic we do. And we need to get ready.

LR:
That’s, like, three weeks away. Schaffer and Citizen X can wait until then to battle with the Thrill Seekah!

EC:
They can, but we can’t. Preparation is key to winning, and I refuse to not do everything in my power to win.

LR:
But--

Before he could even get that thought out, Cornell had already chicken winged him, hauling him off. In the process, he caused Rivera to drop his brush, leaving a bright red streak cutting right through the bear. The masterpiece was ruined.

Pain and Suffering

The lights dimmed, and out came Gorgon and her maniacally beaming new associate, who MAW.com recently revealed to be a rather unstable young lady known as Grinn. When the duo reached the ring, Grinn took a seat in the corner, microphone in hand, while Gorgon stood like stone in the center of the ring.

Grinn:
[in a high pitched, nasally voice]
Why, why, why?
[she cackles, her voice returns to normal]
It’s the word on everyone’s mind, dangling stupidly off of their tongues. No one seems to know, so I’m going to help you out a little bit with a question of my own: Why not!?
[Grinn succumbs to a laughing fit, Gorg sits on looks on, emotionless. When she recovers, her voice is almost sweet]
I’ve got no problems with Sara York. In fact, I think I actually like her a little bit. At least--SHUT UP!
[she jerks her head to one side and screams at a taunting fan, fury in her eyes. He sits down slowly.]
…At least I think so. I’m not all that sure. Either way, I’d like to hurt her. Gorgon does, too. So, that’s what we’re going to do.
[she begins laughing once more]
Isn’t it wonderful!?

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/Gorgon_alt5.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/Randomf5.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/KinuyeMushashibo.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/TracyBrendon_alt.jpg

vs. Kinuye & Tracy Brendon

Though their big target, Sara York, didn’t make an appearance during the match, the pair of Kinuye & Brendon were certainly a handful for Gorgon & Grinn as they looked for a measure of revenge. They were getting it against Grinn in the early going, too. But that all stopped as soon as Grinn countered an attack from Kinuye into a monstrous uranage backbreaker. From here, it was downhill for Brendon & Kinuye, as the monstrous Gorgon soon made her way into the ring and began to wreak havoc. After a short battle, Gorgon planted Tracy with a Hydra Bomb (Powerbomb) for the win as Grinn attempted to fold Kinuye backwards over the ring post with a brutal bow and arrow lock.

Gorgon & Grinn win, 45.

vs. Casey Valentine w/ Brett Starr

The new champs soaked up the applause of the audience while the formers sneered as the walked down the aisle. Once in the ring, though, it was all business, as neither Apollo nor Valentine wasted any time getting to the action. The two combined to create an intensely personal brawl. Always looking to ruin a good moment, Brett Starr often found himself on the apron, doing his damnedest to distract either Apollo or the referee. Finally, having seen enough of the outside interference, Amazing Fire Fly quickly slid into the ring, took a running start, and dived through the ropes, spearing Starr straight off of the apron with a fantastic suicide dive! The move left Valentine frozen and unsure of what had just happened just long enough for Apollo to pull him in and drill him with the Island Driver (Pumphandle Driver) for the win!

Apollo wins, 63.

After the match, The Succession pairing were irate.

Brett Starr:
That’s it!

Casey Valentine:
[Rubbing his neck]
Oh yeah, we’ve had enough!

BS:
You two got lucky last week when you stole those belts from us, and you got lucky again tonight. It’s not going to happen again!

CS:
Hell no, it’s not! At The Battle, we’re going to prove that, and we’re going to get our belts back!

Amazing Fire Fly and Apollo exchanged looks from the stage, and turned to answer.

Culture Shock:

You’re on!

The Celebrated Son of the Carolinas

Jared Johnson was backstage to speak about his upcoming battle with Behemoth

Jared Johnson:
In three weeks, I face the biggest man I’ve ever had had to fight in my career. He’s a seven foot tall, 300 pound son of a bitch that goes crazy at the sight of blood, but ya know what? I’m not even worried about him. I’m the Carolina Kid, and I know that when I go out there to defend my Traditional title, I’m gonna have a sold out crowd cheering my name and backing me up. A lot of people will try and tell you the crowd doesn’t matter, that they just block em out, but I’ll tell you this: I feed off your energy. With you on my side, there isn’t a thing I can’t do!

Sanders, a recent graduate from the Mid Atlantic Dojo, is making his debut tonight, and what a match to do it in. New York Doll is a tough as nails fighter, and he’s proven that in battles with The Great Ota and Citizen X. Doll started the match off punishing Sanders with heavy blows, looking to initiate the youngster into his world. Doll held control for sometime, but the fact remains that Sanders was trained by one of the greatest of all time in Rip Chord, and his training soon kicked in once he had taken enough of a beating. Fighting back by chopping at the ankles of Doll, Sanders surprised everyone when he countered a wild kick by wrapping his hands around the ankle of the New Yorker and twisting, locking in a dreaded ankle lock! Doll did his best to pull himself to the ring ropes, but Sanders dragged him right back to the center of the ring, where he dropped down and grapevined Doll’s legs, holding him in place and forcing him to tap!

John Sanders wins his debut match, 40.

The Warrior Elite

We cut once again to Adrian Garcia’s training facility. Garcia is shown sitting on his balcony, laughing as he conducts business with an unknown associate. Elijah Harris barks orders as Frost, Ford, and Sayeed train. Meanwhile, Ant-Man and Powell take a break, drinking from a water cooler.

Ant-Man:
Ford and Frost? Please, neither of them deserve the chance fight at The Battle.

Powell:
They’re two of the best here, I don’t see the problem.

Ant-Man:
It should be me. I work harder than either of them. Not only that, the MAW fans know me already. I was a champion! Ford, I can sort of understand. But Frost? The man’s an overgrown Neanderthal.

Powell:
Frost has crushed men all over the world. You’ve yet to see what he can really do, and Garcia’s made sure that he’ll demonstrate that.

Ant-Man:
And they’ve yet to see what I can really do.
[Throwing away his cup]
That is what I intend to show them.

Rivera made his entrance holding the painting he created earlier, and he hurled it into the crowd, gifting it to some lucky fan. Then Amazing made his entrance, coming off of his, well, amazing performance one week ago. But that battle was clearly still wearing on him, as he lacked the same drive that possessed him to almost steal the Traditional title from Jared Johnson. As such, he never performed up to that standard, bust still got some of his trademark bruising offense in, very nearly ending the match with his Jackhammer Suplex before Rivera flipped out of the back of the move. Rivera then hit a nice inverted DDT on his way down before springing up to the top rope and leaping off with a Daredevil Drop (Shooting Star Press) to take the win.

Rivera wins, 60.

A lot of history was in the ring for this match, and that translated into an intense brawl that saw everyone get in a good deal of action. Vessey and Cattley performed well in the early going, but Ota and Patriot were able to stifle them and isolate Cattley to their corner of the ring. Showing some surprising chemistry, Ota and Patriot hammered Cattley over and over again with double team maneuvers, and Patriot regularly taunted both Vessey and Cattley as the veteran tried his best to tag out. Eventually, Patriot’s taunting became too much, and Cattley fired back with a huge forearm blow that nearly knocked him unconscious. Both men crawled to their respective corners, and, almost at the same time, tagged out to their partners. Both Ota and Vessey came out on fire, but it Vessey who did so with a flamethrower. Over and over again, he dropped Ota, and eventually hefted him up onto his shoulders, looking for the Vessey Driver…but Patriot came out of nowhere, leveling the champ with the World Heavyweight Championship! The ref has no choice but to call for the DQ!

Vessey and Cattley win by DQ, 71.

After the show, Jay was, once again, seated alone. He had a quick post-show match with Irving Fierro, er, El Mitico that ended in a no contest after Brett Starr and Casey Valentine ran in, and so he was one of the last ones left in the locker room. I watched him out of the corner of my eye and took a deep breath. It’s not like I’d never been in this situation before, so by now it was a little easier to approach the prick. I did so.

“Congrats, man,” I said, sitting down across from him.

He stopped unlacing his boots. “For what?”

“For the number one contender match. Not just anyone gets those.”

He scoffed. “I’ve been in three world title matches this year alone. This doesn’t mean **** to me.”

“It should, man. You’re dad’s clearly building you up slow, just like he did with Cameron. He lost, what, like five matches before he got the belt?”

“That’s different. Cameron’s good, yeah, but he’s not like me. I’m a born star, and everyone knows it. Me losing looks bad. I might as well be in that ****ty angle you’re in with all those has beens.”

I shook my head. “ You don’t get it, do you, man? You’ve looked strong in every single one of those matches. That’s what matters. Titles don’t matter. Look at Angry Gilmore in SWF. He’s never been World Champ, but everyone knows that he’s one of the best around.”

“Gilmore’s a loser. He may be able to wrestle, but he doesn’t have what it takes to carry a company. I do, and that’s the difference. I can take this company way beyond what my dad can, and he needs to see that. Now get out of here, roid monkey.”

That was my breaking. I stood up, my face flushed.

“Alright, Jay, you want the truth? You can’t carry this company. No one thinks so. Not me, not your lackey Brett, and not your dad. Hell, he’s the one that asked me to come here and talk to you. He wants me to try and change you, to make you a ‘better person.’ But you know what, Jay? I can’t do it. No one can. You certainly can’t. And when Rip finally retires, and you run this place into the ground, and believe me, you will, there’s gonna be no doubts as to whose fault it is. Me, and everyone else here are gonna be able to move on, but not you. No one’s gonna want you, Jay, because they’re going to know that you’re a cancer. You kill things, Jay, that’s who you are. And unless you change, you’re gonna kill yourself. And that’s not even talking about your drug and drinking problem, which only makes it worse. So why don’t you think about that a little bit, and then you can talk to me about taking steroids.”

Jay’s mouth hung open a little, but he didn’t say anything. Furious, I spun on my heel and walked away, leaving him alone in the locker room. Honestly, I felt really good.

Wow, I just tallied it up, and Battle of the Mid Atlantic is set to be our 49th show, and I can probably double that number counting backstage segments. I gotta say, I never felt like I would last this long (This has been going since September!), but I feel like I'm just hitting my stride as far as quality writing goes. Which is a good thing, because with the increased time it's taking me to pop out shows lately, I need that to keep my readers sticking around!

Angry Gilmore can easily carry SWF. Hell, the only way to not get him in their top five list is to not use him.

And he's a HoI member. And he got Wrestler of the Year. Got #2 after Cornell like three times.

You stupid fool. STUPID FOOL. Jay Chord isn't in the HoI. YOU KNOW WHY?

...

Actually, it's probably due to no promotion being over Cult.

© vs. Behemoth w/ Lisa Bowen for the Traditional Title

Johnson faces his biggest (literally) challenge yet this month at Battle of the Mid Atlantic, and boy, did Behemoth deliver. At the command of Lisa Bowen, the psychotic big man tore a war path straight through the champion, brutalizing him with kicks, throws, and slams. After a particularly brutal running boot sent Johnson through the ropes and to the outside, Behemoth looked like he might pull off the win via count out, but the ever scrappy Johnson refused to let the match end like that, and he returned to the ring to see if he could take more of Behemoth’s beating. It turns out he could, despite a big cut over his right eye the kick had opened up. No matter what Behemoth threw at him from that moment on, Johnson came blasting back with forearms, punches, chops, (attempted) suplexes, submissions, and once, it looked like he even brought out the kitchen sink in his efforts to fell the big man.

But even through all of that, Behemoth’s war machine continued to roll, and after a huge spear, he looked to have the match ended as Johnson lay motionless on the mat. Behemoth, though, always looking to cause more pain, didn’t go for the pin. Instead, he reached down to lift Double J up, but found his arm pulled down instead! Johnson was trying to lock the Carolina Crossface on Behemoth! The monster struggled, using all of his strength to escape the tight grip, even throwing a few wild shots Johnson’s way, but he couldn’t get loose, and Johnson eventually got the entire hold locked in, forcing Behemoth to tap!

Johnson retains, 66.

Johnson sat slumped in the corner, sweat and blood pouring down his bruised face, holding his title belt tight against his chest. He breathed heavily as he watched Lisa Bowen pick up a microphone and turn to address him.

Lisa Bowen:
Oh, I bet you think you’re soooo good. ’I won, I won!’ Well guess what, this isn’t over. Not for you, at least. You may have gotten lucky tonight and beaten Behemoth, but there will be more. He’ll make sure of that. I don’t know what you did to him, but he wants you bad, and I don’t think he’s gonna stop until he has you.

She dropped the microphone and turned away, head held high, pushing the monster Behemoth in the back, prodding him to proceed. He did so, and Johnson was left in the ring alone, wondering just who exactly ‘he’ was.

“Watch out!” Cornell yelled to Rivera as the match began. The ever-underhanded Citizen X had come charging in as Rivera handed his vest to the ref for safe keeping. Rivera, always agile, dropped down in the splits, and X’s forearm met nothing but air as he swooshed by overhead. He picked himself up by an imaginary collar and went to work, popping X with a series of fast paced moves that did more to show off his agility than do damage. X, disoriented, made a quick tag out to Schaffer, and the former Traditional came in angrily by booting Rivera down. From here, the bad men took control of the match, only allowing a few brief instances of offense from the always exciting Thrill Seeker.

Cornell, having thus far been kept from the action, was yelling to get the tag, doing his best to pump up the crowd and his partner. Finally, following a desperation head scissors, Rivera did, and Cornell came bruising out of the corner by leveling both the now-legal Citizen X and his interfering partner Schaffer repeatedly. Roaring to the crowd, the Brit was finally able to hit X with a high bridging German suplex, and as the ref made the three count, Rivera came flying off the top rope with a senton to Schaffer, who was attempting to break up the pin. Doing so, he kept the pin uninterrupted, and secured the win for his team.

Rivera & Cornell win it, 61

Following the match, Rivera was ecstatic, and tried to get the serious Cornell to join in on the celebration. Pulling him to the center of the ring, Rivera tried convincing him to join him in a impromptu dance off, but Cornell angrily waved him off, leaving the ring alone and shaking his head.

A Scene From Earlier in the Week...

Powell:
You’re a fool if you think this’ll work.

Ant-Man:
And you’re a fool for doubting it will. I’ve been practicing this over and over again, it will work.

Powell and Ant-Man were walking through Adrian Garcia’s training facility, Ant-Man with purpose, and Powell trailing behind. They came upon Frost getting a sip of water and stopped.

AM:
Frost, it’s good to see you!

Frost:
Whaddya want, bug?

AM:
I just want to wish the might Beast from the North good luck for your upcoming match.

F:
Hmm?

AM:
Though one such as yourself surely doesn’t need. After all, Ford will no doubt be lulled into such a sense of security when fighting a weakling like yourself that you should have no problem surprising him in your match.

Frost’s face grew bright red with fury when he finally registered the insult. He charged Ant-Man, and Powell’s eyes grew wide with worry. He’d seen first hand what the monster could do when angered. But Ant-Man, calm as ever, stepped aside at the last moment and shot his leg out, kicking Frost’s knee inward so that it bent sickeningly backwards. He collapsed to the ground, bellowing in pain. Elijah Harris rushed to the scene, and Adrian Garcia craned his neck to view the scene from atop his balcony.

Elijah Harris:
What happened?

AM:
He attacked me, that’s what!

P:
It’s true, the two of us were talking when he just freaked out and charged.

Harris bent to check on Frost’s knee. He frowned.

EH:
It appears to me that he’ll be unable to fight. Are you sure you’re telling me the truth?

P:
Yes, sir!

AM:
If he can’t fight, then…then let me take his place. I will bring us much, er...honor!...Please?

Harris huffed.

EH:
That’s not for me to decide.

Garcia called down to them.

Adrian Garcia:
Let him fight, if he wishes. Even in his horrible state, he’s still better than anything else in MAW right now.

Harris frowned.

EH:
As you wish, sir.
[Turning to Ant-Man]
Well, it seems that today is your unlucky day. I wish you luck against Gumble. You’ll certainly need it.

vs. The Succession for the Tag Team Titles

After winning the titles and a subsequent singles match, it was Culture Shock who, shockingly (pun intended) came into this match with all of the momentum, and not the former champs full of pedigree. That translated into Fire Fly speeding all over the ring, peppering Valentine and Starr while Apollo came in with his trademark island energy, slamming both opponents and getting the crowd pumped up throughout the match. That’s not to say the former champs didn’t showcase what they had, however. Using a number of classically underhanded techniques such as eye gouges, rakes, toe stomps, and dirty tags, they were able to keep themselves in the running for the match. But it was precisely that cheating that came back to bite them in the end. Starr had Apollo locked in an abdominal stretch, and Valentine was holding his hand, using the leverage to increase the torque of the hold. The referee, finally having enough, delivered a swift kick to their locked hands, and Starr, stunned, broke the hold, giving Apollo the chance to lift him up and hit a Samoan drop. He quickly tagged out, and Fire Fly ascended the turnbuckles, coming off with a Sky High Fire Fly (450 Splash) for the win!

Culture Shock retain!, 68

vs. Tracy Brendon

Both women came out on fire, and truly showcased what MAW’s women’s division is all about: proving that women can bring it just as hard as any man can, and that’s exactly what Grinn and Brendon did. Neither seemed to want to give an inch to the other, but that’s exactly what Tracy Brendon did as Grinn spent the match absolutely wrecking her back with a series of brutal backbreakers. Following them, Grinn locked in a Boston crab in the center of the ring, but Tracy managed to drag herself to the ropes, and the ref forced Grinn to break the hold. Unfortunately for Tracy, it was just putting off the inevitable. Grinn quickly lifted her onto and shoulder and dropped down, executing the horrific backbreaker she calls Spinal Trauma (Canadian Backbreaker). Tracy, unmoving, was easy prey as Grinn slithered over her, staring blankly out at the crowd.

Grinn wins, 46

Immediately following the match, Gorgon climbed into the ring, standing over Tracy. Grabbing her by the hair, she dragged her up to her knees. Grinn, laughing maniacally, could be heard screaming “Do it! Do it!” Just as Gorgon placed Tracy’s head between her legs, setting up the Hydra Bomb…

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/SaraMarieYork.jpg

SMY: The Women's Champion!

…Sara Marie York’s music hit, and the champion came out wielding a microphone.

Sara Marie York:
Don’t even think about touching her again. You want to mess with me, then you’ve got me. I don’t know what you’re problem is, but it doesn’t involve anyone else. One of you want a match, you got it. I don’t care when, I don’t care why, but I’m not going to back down from either of you. You don’t scare me.

Grinn, who had been staring blankly at SMY, her head ****ed to one side, suddenly turned back to Gorgon. Jumping up and down, she resumed her screams of “Do it!” And Gorgon did. Despite the fury it instilled in SMY, Gorgon planted the young rock princess Tracy Brendon firmly in the mat with a brutally quick Hydra Bomb. Swearing at her newfound adversaries, SMY turned back in a huff and made her exit, while Grinn could be seen whispering something in Brendon’s ear and Gorgon stood both motionless and (e)motionless.

La Alianza del Honor: The Good Guys!

“Island Boy” Apollo:
We’ve done it again!

Amazing Fire Fly:
Yes we have!

The tag team slapped hands, celebrating their win as El Mitico looked on, smiling.

El Mitico:
Congratulations on a successful defense, mi amigos. Now that you are done with those vile hombres, I wish you a long reign!

IBA:
And we wish you one, too. This is an omen, man! MAW’s been full of so much hate for so long, and La Alianza del Honor can finally change that.

AFF:
He’s right. You’re going to go out there tonight and beat Jay Chord, and we’re finally gonna rid MAW of those guys once and for all. And after that, you’re gonna go on to win the World Heavyweight Championship!

Mitico smiled shyly.

EM:
Thank you for the kind words friends, but I can’t just hope that you’re right. I have to work, to slave, to do everything I can to beat Jay Chord. And that’s exactly what I plan to do. I won’t let him play mind games, and I won’t let him cheat. All I will let him do is wrestle, and I know that he’s dangerous enough at that alone.

Prior to the match, Adrian Garcia took a seat in the now-customary balcony seat of his to drink in the action. As Ant-Man was introduced, the crowd cheered, his defeat of the giant Findlay still fresh on their minds. Gumble, however, got no such love, but he neither needed nor wanted it. Harris issued curt instructions to him prior to the match beginning, but ignored Ant-Man completely.

That didn’t bother Ant-Man, who rushed forward to start the match, surprising Gumble and lighting him up with heavy strikes. Using his strength, he tossed Gumble into the corner and hit him with a charging clothesline, shaking him up tremendously. As Gumble staggered out of the corner, Ant-Man powered him up and over with a twisting power slam that shook the ring. Seeing his opponent fall, Ant-Man threw his hands up in celebration, milking the crowd for their cheers. But when he turned, he found Gumble on his feet, staring him down coldly. Gumble mumbled something before rushing forward and lighting Ant up with a series of stiff kicks, bringing welts up all over his sides and legs. He completed the combo with a tornado DDT, dropping him down directly on his head. As Ant-Man struggled to his feet, Gumble snatched him up by the mask and held him in place as he looked up at Garcia. Garcia looked down dismissively, and Gumble responded by pushing Ant into the ropes. When he rebounded, he was met with a QUICK DRAW KICK that left him unconscious in the middle of the ring. The pin after was expected, and Gumble saw his hand raised in victory over stable mate Ant-Man.

Gumble wins, 43 (Heel-heel and all…)

The Champ is in the Building!

Cameron Vessey:
My own championship, Patriot?

The champ was standing in the ring with Jean Cattley.

CV:
Hell no! That’s not gonna fly. And that’s exactly why I asked for this little rematch. I’ve been waiting all month for this match, and I know that you’ve sure as hell been creeping around backstage, wringing your hands like you wanna do something to me. Well this is your chance, big guy. And you better hit me with the biggest damn shot you got, because I’ve already beaten you once, and you know exactly what I can do to you. So tonight, me and my good friend Jean here are spend a few whipping you and your new partner in crime around the ring, and then we’re gonna head out after the show and grab a few beers. So if you can pick yourself up off the mat after our match, I’d be glad to sit down and drink a cold one with ya. Hope you make it, *******.

What a wild brawl this one was! Even Ota and Cattley, who are primarily known as strong technicians, were throwing wild shots. That’s not to say they didn’t put their own special brand on the style, though. Cattley especially, knowing his history of injury, was mixing in some brutal shots to Patriot’s knee. Before the match was up, Black Flag was hobbling about the ring, his bruising style severely crippled. Vessey, as always, was going wild throughout, and whenever he was tagged in, he immediately began throwing punches at everyone, even nearly catching Cattley when he came up on him too quickly. Overall, the match was a good showcase for all four men. The match came to a climactic end as Black Flag hit his old rival Mean Jean with an American Suplex, only to find himself the victim of a Vessey Driver immediately after standing up. With that move, Vessey secured the win for his team.

Vessey and Mean Jean win, 66

Following the match, Vessey and Cattley did their share of celebrating, but Vessey’s happiest moment came a few minutes later. As American Patriot stood up, rubbing his neck, Vessey took aim and charged forth, nailing Patriot with his title belt! The shot sent Patriot flying back and through the ropes, and earned Vessey revenge for the shot Patriot dealt out earlier in the month.

The Prodigal Son

Jay Chord stood alone in the ring, a smirk on his face.

Jay Chord:
Those morons from south of the border declared their win an omen, and that El Mitico would beat me tonight. Ha! It’s an omen, alright, and a bad one. Now, I’m a little bit pissed that my idiot friends lost the tag titles, and I plan to make Mitico pay for that. Mitico, at Showcase, you said something that piqued my interest a little. You said that you were a fourth generation wrestler. Now, I thought the same thing as everyone else when I heard it: Impressive [Jay claps mockingly], right? Wrong! Mitico, I did my research. I looked up your so called ‘pedigree.’ And you know what I found? Horse ****, that’s what! Literally. Your dad, your grandpa, and your great grand pappy were all just a bunch of stable boys. Tonight, the real genetics are gonna win, boy. You’re gonna climb in this ring, and I’m gonna slap you once, twice, three times. Then I’m gonna throw you around a little bit, maybe hit you with a DDT, and by then you’re gonna be crying for your mama-

??:
Shut the hell up, Jay!

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/RipChord_ager.jpg

The Man, the Legend

Jay stared at his father, cowering back a little bit.

Rip Chord:
You wanna say prove my genetics are better, Jay? Then do it in the ring. Stop yappin’ your damn mouth and fight. Mitico, get your ass out here and fight my boy already.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/ElMitico.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/JayChord.jpg

vs.
in a #1 Contender Match

Mitico started off the match strong, using leg kicks to batter Jay before hitting a nice spinning back kick that dropped the Prodigal Son. From here, he used some nice, slick technical wrestling to hold Jay until he powered up out of a front face lock. Groping at his mask, Jay ripped at his eyes before slamming him down to the ground. Angry, he descended upon Mitico with a knee drop followed up with a suplex and a nice slam. Unable to keep him down for the pin, he took his time, stomping down hard on each of Mitico’s limbs before finishing off with one to the face. Using Mitico’s mask once more to lift him up, Jay proceeded to beat on him with a series of moves straight out of his father’s book. Pushing him into the corner, Jay lifted Mitico up to the top rope, signaling for a superplex.

As Jay climbed up after him, Mitico hit some hard shots to his ribs, and the two began a struggle that saw Mitico win out by pushing Chord backwards and down to the mat. As jay scrambled to his feet, he was put right back down by a missile dropkick from Mitico! After a moment, Mitico struggled over to Jay, but Chord kicked out at two. Mitico then proceeded to punish Jay’s back, and the young Chord soon found himself writhing in pain following several backbreakers, slams, and spine-bending holds. Finally, Mitico clasped his hands over his head, calling for the end of the match. He walked over to Chord, and grabbed him by the legs. Unfortunately for him, Chord’s wriggling and struggling made him hard to get a hold of, and Jay kicked Mitico backwards. Mitico rolled under the ropes, standing up on the apron. As Jay approached, he shot his shoulder forward through the ropes, but instead of meeting Chord’s stomach, he found his face connecting with Jay’s size 9 (Yes, his foot is that small.). Jay, still stumbling about and bent over, had the presence of mind to lock his arm around Mitico’s head and drag him out to the point where his feet were balanced on the middle rope. Then, with authority, Jay threw himself backwards, drilling Mitico’s head into the mat, and earning himself the win, as well as a #1 contender spot.

Jay wins, 72.

Things had been going great for me lately. I had been clean for a while. I still had the urges to use every now and then, but Alison was helping me with that. She was my rock, and if I had any sort of troubles, all I had to do was just talk to her about it and we worked our way through it together. Career-wise, things were great as well. I was getting a sustained storyline again, and even though I had just lost pretty convincingly to Ford, I was picking up wins in dark matches and post show spots. Jean assured me that the loss was just a bigger part of the overarching storyline, anyway, so I wasn’t worried. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

What I was worried about, though, was Jay. The last time I saw him, I had flipped out on him. The owner’s son, and I had belittled him when I was asked to befriend him. I was waiting on a phone call from Rip all month telling me not to bother showing up anymore, and when that didn’t happen, I was fully expecting to be let go after the show. Neither happened. It was like me and Jay never talked. He showed up, and, as always, kept to himself. He didn’t talk to anyone, just came in, got dressed, and went out to for his promo. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The weirdest part of it all was that after my match, Rip came up and congratulated personally on having a good match. I can count on no hands how many times I’ve seen that happen, and it was stranger even because I don’t even think the match was all that great. But as he was shaking my hand, he pulled me in close, and, quietly, thanked me for talking with Jay. That both of them really appreciated me extending the olive branch. Then he let my hand go, and walked away without another word. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

So... what does that mean? Did you actually get a game-event where you told him off?</p>

Nope, just my own personal backstory. As far as Jay goes, though, he's been incredibly well behaved in this game (as far as Jay goes, that is). I've only had two minor incidents with him, and the last happened a year ago. He's not the happiest guy in the world, considering he's still annoyed with how I handled said event, but I'm very happy with him. Truth be told, he walked out on me in my last MAW game and Chess Maniac took over when Rip retired, which was...odd.

True to his word, Rip Chord began to book Adrian Garcia’s boys in matches against more formidable opponents after seeing their violent altercation 1 week ago with this match. Up this week is none other than former two time tag champ, Oscar Golden, who, after his exceptionally long entrance to his won recording of Bohemian Rhapsody, immediately went after Gumble. Both men were pretty evenly matched, and, as such, neither ever really got any extended periods of offense. But when it came down to it, Ford’s nasty kicks were able to get the job for him, as he absolutely walloped Golden with a violent QUICK DRAW KICK that knocked the Canadian Blonde senseless. The pin after was perfunctory, and Gumble was declared the winner. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Backstage, Adrian Garcia sat behind a massive oak desk in a high backed leather chair in a rather lavishly decorated office. Across from him stood Ant-Man, and he eyed the diminutive star coldly over his steepled hands. After a long pause, he finally spoke. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

But no, you had to maneuver yourself into a match against a man that you stood no chance against. I may mold men into gods, but that process takes time. Do you understand? You’re better than the average man, yes, but you are in no way at the level that I’ve set as the bar for my fighters. [Garcia sighs] You had the crowd on your side, damn it! Now they see you as weak, as a loser. I can’t work with that. But you’ve still got time left on that contract of yours, so I’m stuck with you. Don’t get too excited, though. You’re not going to be doing any sort of training. [Garcia sneers] No, I’m going to milk you for every cent you’re worth, and when you’re well runs dry, I’m going to leave you in the gutter. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

MAW Dojo grad John Sanders had a tough battle against New York Doll last month, and this month he finds himself up against the equally dangerous Canadian vet Josh Jones. Jones wasted no time in going after Sanders, peppering him with stiff open handed slaps before taking him down and transitioning into some slick ground work. Sanders training soon kicked in, though, and he was able to the one sided beating into a competitive match. The two showcased some nice technical sequences, reversing holds to apply their, but the one that finally finished the match came when Sanders caught one of Jones’s boots, kicked his other leg out from under him, and slapped on a tight ankle lock. Jones struggled momentarily, but he soon tapped out to the hold, and Sanders continued his early promise with the win.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

We cut backstage, where we see Cam Jones and Miller Fforde conversing with Duke Hazard. It’s unclear what they’re talking about, but something Hazard says causes the young duo to burst out laughing. As they do so, American Patriot walks into the scene. Enraged, he rushes the pair, smacking both against the concrete wall. Hazard, meanwhile, lets out a high pitched scream before hurrying away from the scene. Patriot lifts Fforde up and tosses him hard into the wall once more, then turns his attention to Jones. With ease, he wraps his arms around his waste before throwing him over and hitting a huge American Suplex on the hard floor. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The former rulers of the tag division take on the newest up and coming team in this match up, and both put on an impressive show. The ever elusive and show stopping Awesomeness took the air quickly and often, trying to keep the match off of the ground, where Statler and Waldorf are both most comfortable. “Deadly” Dean was soon able to catch Cannonball, though, superplexing him off of the top rope with relative ease. Once he got him down, he and “Marvelous” Marv took to working over the high flyer. After a good while of this, Cannonball was able to hit Statler with a huge forearm shot, giving him enough time to tag out to Stardust, who came in on fire. Unfortunately, his roll was cut short, as Statler was able hit him with a backdrop backbreaker, holding him down on his knee while Waldorf came charging in with a boot the head to end the match. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

This is just the second time York’s faced Gorgon, and the first she’s met Grinn. Grinn, knowing the danger York presented, spent the majority of the time on the apron playing mind games with the champ while Gorgon handled the majority of the work. Brendon and York, however, were both tagging in and fairly quickly, doing their best o stay fresh against the dangerous pair. When Grinn finally got involved, it was with a big tackle to York that sent both of them tumbling to the floor. Grinn began throwing wild shots while Gorgon occupied Brendon with some heavy handed brawling. Meanwhile, as York and Grinn fought it out on the outside, the ref reached a ten count, declaring the match a draw by count out! Afterward, with a number of backstage officials, he managed to separate the two teams, who kicked and clawed wildly at one another, even as they were held apart. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Behemoth chased Rivera and Cornell right down to the ring, Lisa Bowen in trail. Cornell slid into the ring, and when Behemoth followed suit, the referee rang the bell, ordering the start of the match. Behemoth, wild with fury, threw heavy shot after heavy shot at Eddie, who did his best to block and avoid the psychopath’s rampage. Eddie didn’t just avoid, though. He smartly picked his shots, doing the most damage he could in short bursts. Neither man was able to establish any prolonged, dominating offense because of this, and the match end came as a surprise. Behemoth charged in with a clothesline, but Cornell ducked, and when Behemoth rebounded, he ducked under a big boot as well. Before Behemoth could plant himself and regain his balance, Cornell quickly dropped down and rolled him up, scoring the three count!</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sounds good to me. I’d be careful if I were you, though. Night of Champions is three months away, and anything could happen between. I could lose my title between now and then. It’s unlikely, but it could happen. Hell, you could lose that title shot of yours! That’s way more likely to happen, I’d say. I mean, I don’t give just anyone a shot at this belt, but I have to give the number one contender one. That’s a pretty big target, I’d say. You did throw a wrench in my plans, though. I was all set to beat you down again at The Clash, but now I don’t have an opponent, and that ain’t fair to these fans! So what I’m gonna do is sit ringside here, watch this match, and I’m gonna issue a challenge to the winner. And you know what, I’m gonna let you take on the loser. You get the easy match, Jay, because I know you don’t wanna lose that shot. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With a title shot on the line, these two went especially hard. Cattley hasn’t held gold in over three years, and Ota’s yet to taste any gold at all, so both men were very hungry for the win. Throughout multiple heated exchanges, neither man ever really showed themselves to be the superior of the other. That said, in anticipation of the dreaded Ninja Strike (Shining Wizard), Cattley focused a lot of aspect on tearing apart the knee of Ota, and by the end of the match, Ota was left hobbling about the ring. That didn’t stop the ninja from throwing any of his other trademark offense at Cattley. In fact, Ota did all he could to wear down the lower back of Jean, and when he finally locked in the Tarantula Hold, he very nearly forced The Mean Machine to tap out before the referee reached his five count. As Cattley struggled to his knees, holding his back in pain, Ota rushed in, leapt off of his knee with his good leg, but instead of striking with his injured knee, Ota wrapped his legs around Cattley’s arm and neck, falling in a triangle choke. Cattley did his best to hold on and break the hold, but it proved too much for the veteran, and he tapped out, giving the match to Ota. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After the match, Vessey got in the ring and extended his hand to Ota. Ota looked down at it oddly, and then the lights shut out. When they came back on, Ota was gone, and Cam was left grinning in the ring, alone aside from the referee, who was helping Cattley to the back. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Honestly, I had no idea that I had booked so many title matches until I clicked the Showtime! button. I think it's the women's match that makes it seem a bit overwhelming. It's the only one I could have done without, too, as I could push that storyline in other directions.

<p>I've held back on reading this diary for the past couple of months, as I didn't want to be influenced towards the start of my own project. This week I've managed to get myself up to speed though, and I'd just like to say that you're running an excellent diary here. MAW always interests me, and the ongoing story with Heizenger really adds another dimension and makes it a more interesting read.</p><p> </p><p>
