/waits for Mainstream to get stolen before Americana

btw, debut American Elemental as "Americana" on that show, please? Before I deleted it (too much craziness; I bought out EXODUS >_>), I was going to give him an Undertaker streak at the event.

~~

And Callum, the other one...Jackpot Jordan? Jake Idol?

I believe he's The California Love Machine.

I can safely say Mainstream won't get stolen this time :D stick around to see why!

And yep, Landon Callum is CLM, and Behemoth is Larry Wood, still going strong and not yet retired. I hadn't even thought of American Elemental in a LONG time...I need to see where he's at this game. I've already got quite a few masked characters though, so as much as I love him, and I loves me some AmEl, he might have to wait until I get my third monthly show, which could be quite a while.

EDIT: oh, and 500 posts! This baby's been going a long time now!

The fact they're still challenging seems to especially vex former manager Lisa Bowen, who's Ring Generals have already beaten The Awesomeness. As such, Bowen's placed a special stipulation on the match: it's do or die. If The Awesomeness fail to capture the gold, then they'll be unable to challenge so long as The Generals remain champs. </span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">Following that, El Mitico will be in action taking on The Destroyer of Worlds, Atlas. This one will feature The Great Ota putting his Traditional Championship up for grabs against both Eddie Cornell and Eddie Howard. Both men have been vying for the title in recent months, both men have failed against the Darkness Warrior, and both men can claim that it was due to Ota's vile mist. Will either of them finally manage to capture singles gold, or will they fall to the deadly Ninja Strike?</span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">Finally, the evening will be wrapping up with one of the most highly anticipated match ups in recent history. Oscar Golden, who's been on the verge of capturing the World Championship multiple times this year, came out on Showcase to issue one more challenge to Jay Chord. The champ agreed, but moments later both men were thrown for a loop when a visiting Mainstream Hernandez also threw his name into the title match! It was the best of names, it was the worst of names. He is an age of reason, he is an age of awesome. He is epically British, he is epically not. He seasons with salt, he seasons with flair. He is the cousin of hope, he is the brother of storms. They have everything before them, they have nothing before them. They shall rise to heaven, they shall fall to hell.

I'm trying out a new format this time. I'd appreciate it if ya'll let me know how you feel about it. It's still in it's infantile stage right now, but...yeah.

Remmington Remus - Dharma Gregg - Adrian Garcia

Remus:
Good evening everyone, and welcome to Americana! As always, I’m Roderick Remus alongside the lovely Dharma Gregg and -

Garcia:
- Adrian Garcia, but you all already know who I am. We’ve got two great wrestlers coming down to the ring, Remus, let’s talk about that.

Gregg:
Let’s!

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/MeanJeanCattley.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/vs.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/TheArchitect-1.jpg

vs.

Architect started the match with a show of respect, extending his hand toward Cattley, who accepted the gesture. Afterwards, the duo engaged in quite the exhilarating display of technical wrestling. The match remained even, showing just how far Architect has come in his short career that he could stand toe to toe with a Mid Atlantic legend like Cattley and hold his own. With numerous submission attempts broken throughout, the match quickly began to ratchet up the intensity. So much so that when Architect locked in the ankle lock, he refused to break the hold when Cattley reached the ropes, resulting in his disqualification.

Cattley wins by DQ, 58

After the match, Architect did not remain in the ring for long. The youngster quickly made his exit, rolling out and walking angrily to the back. He was stopped, however, when he realized that Cattley was arguing with the ref over the result. After a heated exchange, the referee relented and returned to the ring announcer, who once again took his mic and addressed the crowd. This time, however, he announced that the match had been declared a draw, as Cattley and Architect exchanged a knowing nod before making their way to the back.

The match is now a draw, 58

Gregg:
A surprising show of compassion from Cattley.

Garcia:
A show of weakness, more like it. A draw’s not going to do anything to help his standing in MAW.

Remus:
It’s not always about wins or losses. When you get to the point in your career that Cattley has, it can get to be a lot about just finding a challenge for yourself.

Gregg:
And it looks like he has. But enough about that, it’s time for my area of expertise!

vs.
for the Women’s Championship

Brooke Tyler may have recently showed off her skills in tag team action, but tonight was when she really proved her mettle to the MAW faithful. “The Franchise,” who seems to have inherited daddy’s mean streak, was absolutely cruel to the champion anytime she managed to get her capable hands around a limb or body part. So brutal was her dismantling of the champ that when York made her inevitable comeback, she was unable to lift the champ up on her shoulders for her trademark Energy Burst (Go to sleep), and Tyler regained control. The champ hasn’t come this far for nothing, though, and York was able to fight back with a York Shuffle (Two slaps, a spinning backhand) capped off with a beautifully placed running knee to the jaw that put Tyler down for the count.

York retains, 52

Garcia:
It looks like the Tylers have a mean streak running in their family.

Remus:
I’d say.

Gregg:
That still didn’t stop SMY from taking the win, though.

Garcia:
Brooke’s young, it’ll come with time.

Backstage, The dread pirate de Aske and first mate Joanna Silver were enjoying some plunder from the catering table when American Patriot walked up. Startled, Dread leapt back, simultaneously unsheathing his plastic sword as Patriot begged him down.

AP:
Slow your roll there, hot shot. I ain’t here for a brawl. I certainly looking to get poked with that thing.

Dread eyed him warily before sheathing the sword once more.

DdA:
What ya be wantin’ then? A piece o’ me plunder?

AP:
I don’t want anything from you. Alls I want is to ask a question.

JS:
Yarr?

AP:
…Why do you do it?

DdA:
What? Plunder?

AP:
No…yeah. Why do act you like this? What do you get out of it?

DdA:
This is who I be, Black Flag. I’m the dread pirate de Aske! I wouldn’t be happy were I not sailing about, pillagin’ and plunderin’. Some may not like it, but them, why, they always end up walkin’ the plank!

AP:
So you’re…happy?

JS:
Yarrr!

DdA:
Couldn’t have put it better myself, first mate Silver. That be it, Black Flag?

AP:
Yeah, that’s it.

DdA:
Good! First mate Silver, man the wagon!

De Aske then proceeded to jump on his little red wagon, and Joanna Silver pushed him away down the hall as Patriot looked thoughtfully after him.

Garcia:
That’s not the Patriot I know.

Gregg:
Black Flag, no. But The stars and stripes American Patriot of old?

Remus:
Maybe.

vs.

Citizen X still appeared to be weighing heavily on the mind of Ant-Man, who battered his manipulative foe every chance he could. X’s tag partner Lenny Brown faired little better, though he did get a few chances to show off his athleticism. In the end, though, the end came down to a vengeful Ant-Man forcefully putting X down for the count with a thunderous Ant-Slam. Brown tried to break the pin, but he found himself eating a Motion Sensor (Roundhouse kick) at the hands (feet?) of Teddy Powell.

Ant-Man & Powell win, 58

Gregg:
Three years ago I picked Ant-Man to my sole client in MAW, and look at him now!

Garcia:
Yeah, beating on a couple of losers that can’t seem to find themselves in the win column to save their lives…

DH:
Oscar! Oscar! Mind stoppin’ for a minute and answerin’ some questions?

Oscar Golden looked down at the out of breath interviewer and smirked.

OG:
Sure, Duke. I’ll answer any questions you have.

DH:
First of all, what went through yer head when Hernandez popped up at ringside on Showcase?

OG:
Shock. And no, Duke, I was not scared. I was merely amazed that James was still alive. I figured he’d kill himself trying to windsurf off of a skyscraper or something like that by now. I’m just as confident heading into tonight’s match as if I had been taking on Jay Chord alone. They’re both losers, and I’m on the roll of my career right now.

DH:
Alright, alright. I also can’t help but wonder where Lisa Bowen’s at right now?

OG:
I’ve decided to leave her in the back tonight. Lisa’s a beautiful woman, and a fragile creature such as herself shouldn’t have to bear witness to the carnage that I’ll bring to the ring tonight. Most in the back consider themselves athletes. Not I. I’m an artist, first and foremost, and tonight, I paint my masterpiece with the blood of Jay Chord and James Hernandez.

Remus:
Golden’s brimming with confidence tonight.

Garcia:
With the run he’s been on lately, I would, too!

vs.
© w/ Lisa Bowen for the Tag Team Championship

If looks could kill, The Generals would have no problem pinning either Cannonball or Stardust after the lethal stare Lisa Bowen shot her former clients. As it turns out, they don’t. This meant that, as always, The Awesomeness were able to put on quite the performance against the current champs. Cannonball especially looked great, using his speed to keep the more technically minded Ring Generals guessing. Stardust, as always, fulfilled his part by throwing together moves seemingly at random. By design or not is anyone’s guess.

Don’t let the praise for The Awesomeness fool you, though. The champions had several prolonged periods of domination, showing off to the world just how great they’ve become at turning the wrestling ring into a triangle. They were able to isolate both members of The Awesomeness at several points, which lead to an exciting comeback by Stardust, as he nearly pinned Statler following a Stage Dive (Senton Bomb). Sadly, the pin was broken up by Waldorf, who followed up quickly with a Salad Toss (Release German Suplex). After a running forearm shot banished Cannonball to the arena floor, Waldorf then dragged Statler over Stardust to receive the 1, 2, 3!

The Ring Generals win, 60

Remus:
And Lisa Bowen seems almost happier than her clients are.

Gregg:
I’d say.

Garcia:
Let’s not forget that this ends any championship hopes The Awesomeness may have so long as The Ring Generals have the belts.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/MainstreamHernandez.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/DukeHazzard.jpg

DH:
Mainstream? Mainstream?

Duke Hazard poked his head into Mainstream’s locker room to find it empty. Meanwhile, Hernandez, snacking on a bag of Pirate’s Booty (courtesy of Dread de Aske), had strolled up behind him.

DH:
Guess he’s not here yet…

Hernandez, meanwhile, crunching loudly inquired after Duke.

MH:
Who’s not here?

The sudden realization that somebody was behind caused Hazard to jump erratically, nearly dropping his microphone. Breathing heavily, he looked at Hernandez, who continued munching away merrily.

MH:
Got some questions for me, I guess?

DH:
Yeah, yeah…

The two of the stood in an awkward silence for a moment more.

MH:
Yeah?

DH:
Oh! Oh… So, James, you surprised everyone when ya came back on Showcase. What made ya do it?

Hernandez popped a cheese flavored puffed rice and corn product into his mouth while mulling over the question.

MH:
Dude, I spoke up because I guess I got tired of hearing what I was hearing. Jay was serious, Ozzie was serious…where’s the fun? That’s what people want. That’s what MAINSTREAM wants.

Hernandez grinned goofily.

MH:
I was just planning on watching the show all cool like, but I had to speak up. No one wanted to hear those two argue. It’s not entertaining. I’m entertaining. I had to save that segment, bro, so I did. That’s pretty much it. I really just wanted to make some funny jokes, but I was winging it so somehow I guess I wound up getting myself in this match. I’m not complaining, though. I could win the freaking World Championship! That’s huge, man! We have one of those in USPW, too, but Steve Frehley and Enygma got that one on lock, and I don’t like to mess with my bros, so, you know, I don’t go for it. Don’t get me wrong, the wild stallion that is Mainstream Hernandez isn’t looking to take that big gold belt back to USPW. If I win tonight, I’ll vacate it, but not after getting some photo ops with that baby. Yeah!

DH:
Well, that about answers everything I had…

MH:
Cool beans bro.

Garcia:
Who is the Mainstream character and why is he such an idiot?

Remus:
This idiot just happens to be a former Mid Atlantic Champion and three time Rip Chord Invitational winner.

Garcia:
Big whoop. Even I could luck my way to a couple of RCI wins.

Gregg:
I somehow doubt that.

Garcia:
Whatever. The fact remains that this guy's a chump, and that's that.

vs.

Mitico looked strong in the early going, but that was soon put to an by Atlas, who used his massive frame to overwhelm Mitico. With a strong, if not basic, power game, Atlas battered the young Mitico from post to post, giving him little room to breathe in what looked to be a big win for the monster. Mitico wouldn’t go quietly into the night, though, and the young luchadore rallied late in the match with a series of moves attacking the arm. Finally after hitting a picture perfect single arm DDT, Mitico latched on and attempted to lock in the cross armbar, but Atlas proved to be too strong and locked his hands, preventing the move from being fully locked in. Mitico, showing resolve, proceeded to level a few hammer fists to the face of Atlas, causing the giant to break his grip and allowing Mitico to force the submission with the armbar!

Mitico wins, 68

Remus:
Strong victory for Mitico!

Gregg:
He’s certainly looked really great over the past year.

vs.
vs.
for the Traditional Championship

The action was fairly one sided at the beginning as A Tale of Two Eddies took turns taking it to the champ, who’s wronged both of them in recent weeks. That alliance didn’t last long, however, as once the dumped Ota to the outside, they quickly turned on one another, brawling all around the ring. Ota would soon get involved once again, and with a vengeance. The Darkness Warrior brings a completely different style of wrestling than either Eddie, and it proved to be his edge, as they struggled to handle one another with Ota in the mix. Finally, with both Eddies jockeying for position on the apron, Ota came sprinting in and leveled both with dropkick that sent them to the floor. Ota tried to follow them to the floor, but the ref kept him in the ring.

Meanwhile, on the outside, Cornell was grasping for something, and came up holding something distinctly gold tightly to his chest. As Howard also made his way to his feet, Cornell blasted him with the title belt behind the referee’s back! Cornell dropped the belt and slid into the ring, and somehow managed to dodge an incoming Ota’s Ninja Strike (Shining wizard). As he did so, he rubbed at his throat, turned around, and spewed forth a nasty looking black mist! With Ota clutching at his painted face and eyes, Cornell quickly spun him aroud and nailed him with a London Bridge (Bridging German Suplex) for the win!

Cornell wins the belt, 72

Remus:
Cornell cheated to win the belt!?

Gregg:
And he doesn’t even seem to have any remorse over it!

Garcia:
He’s the champion, what’s there to feel bad about?

Remus:
This is MAW, Adrian. We’re not exactly big fans of cheaters around here.

Garcia:
Like I said, he’s champion now. I doubt he cares if you’re his fan or not.

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/JayChord.jpghttp://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/coco_beans08/Johnny%20Heizenger/DukeHazzard.jpg

Duke Hazard caught up with Jay Chord next, who quickly finished off drinking from a can, crushing it, and tossing it over his shoulder.

JC:
What’s up, Duke?

DH:
Well, Jay, I spoke with both yer opponents tonight, and they seem purty dang confident they’re walkin’ away with a new title belt tonight. What’s yer thoughts?

Jay laughed.

JC:
Duke, do you know who you’re talking to? Do you recognize me?

Jay did a little spin, letting Duke take him all in.

JC:
I’m Jay CHORD. Winning runs in my blood. It’s all I do! Now, Mainstream and Oscar may think they’re big shots, and I’m content to let em’ keep on thinking that…until they step in the ring with me, that is. When they do, I’m gonna send em right back down to earth and remind them who the greatest wrestler in the world is. I’ll give you a hint: his last name is Chord. Got any guesses, Duke?

Jay smirked as Duke thought it over.

DH:
Rip Chord?

Jay’s face darkened.

JC:
No, you moron. It’s me. Jay Chord.

Puffing out his chest, Jay spun on his heel and walked toward the ring, ready for his match.

Gregg:
I don’t know who sounds more confident: Jay Chord or Oscar Golden.

Garcia:
Hush now, darling. The champion’s making his entrance.

vs.
vs.
for the World Championship

This triple threat didn’t start out with a double team like the last one. Instead, all three men had targeted another, and it simply descended in a bout of wild action. Chord and Golden were doing the match planted firmly on the ground, but the unpredictable Hernandez saw fit to fly high more often than not. His attempts saw him holding a double edged sword, and he payed for it often enough. One particular instance saw Golden and Chord brawling on the outside, and Mainstream took a running leap of faith over the top rope which saw Golden and Chord dive out of the way at the last second.

After nearly half an hour of action, all three men were at the brink of exhaustion, and it showed as they had become sluggish, almost sloppy. By the end, Golden had gained the upper hand over both his opponents. After dropping Jay Chord in the corner, he had hit him with a brutal looking face wash. With Jay down, he turned his attention to Hernandez and attempted the same. But, as he took his running start, he was blindsided by an exhausted Chord, knocking him from the ring. Chord, dead tired as he was, was still able to smell the blood in the water and quickly turned his attention to Hernandez. Grabbing him by his shaggy hair, Jay dragged him to the center of the ring, powered him up and drilled him with a Cradle Piledriver for the win!

Jay Chord retains, 75

Remus:
Jay Chord retains in a hard fought bout!

Gregg:
Oscar Golden doesn’t look all that happy for him out here in front of the announce table.

Garcia:
Would you be? He the match won, only to have it snatched away from him at the last moment.

Gregg:
That may be so, but to me it just sounds like another way of saying that Golden once again lost to Jay Chord. It seems to me Jay’s got his number.

It's in its infancy, not infantile. And it's find enough. I like quote boxes.

Also, Gregg, womens matches are not your area of expertise. That'd be the pole.

Which you need to work, please.

Along with Joanna Silver.

He's on talent trade. Ohhhhh. COPOUT COPOUT IS COPOUT!

Well I'm still in early 2011, just after the RCI, but I'm loving Johnny's gradual ascension to superstardom. I kinda get a Smackdown vs Raw 'Road to Wrestlemania' vibe from the story, but this is far less contrived. I can't believe I've overlooked this one for so long. I guess I'm not much of a MAW enthusiast (definitely not M-A-W), but I'm down with the direction you've taken the promotion and developed the personalities of those involved, away from the ring. I do think there was mileage in a mistakenly gay Jay Chord a while back though. ;)

Really enjoyable read. Sooner or later I might catch up enough to weigh in with some useful predictions.

Thanks, sebs! Super excited to have you on board. I was surprised as hell when people took the Jay situation like that. I tried to make it clear he buying drugs, but looking back putting him in a bathroom stall with another dude and having him come out all suspicious and whatnot probably wasn't the best to get that point across.

It’s a trap!

That’s was the first thing I could think of when Jean walked into the locker room before the show. The next thing?

Don’t hurt him!

Drenched with some high quality H2O from a bucket of water that had fallen on his head, Jean Cattley had his fist ****ed a mile back as Jay Chord cowered on the ground. Luckily, instead of pounding the living crap out of Jay, he just kinda lorded over him and pointed. Pretty angrily, at that.

“If you ever do anything like that to me again, I’ll beat the hell out of you , you little bastard. I don’t care who your daddy is,” he said.

Jay responded by blubbering a little bit, but he didn’t say anything. Jean left him there on the ground. After a moment, I walked over and helped him up.

“You know that was stupid, right?” I asked as he dusted himself off.

“It’s not my fault he can’t take a joke…” Jay mumbled.

“He’s like thirty-eight or something. That ****’s not really funny to him anymore. Probably never was.”

Jay’s face twisted up a little bit into what might have been a frown. It’s hard to tell since it always looked like that. “Just, get out my face, man!” He didn’t punch me or shoulder me on his way out like he used to, but he still stormed away from me, probably to complain to daddy. He was still good at that.
