SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE SECOND EPISODE OF UPRISING DON'T READY ANY FURTHER!

Wow. None of you have faith in Josh Jones? NOBODY predicted he'd be getting into the RCI. I figured that would be an easy one! Keep the predictions coming guys, I love it!

Hey guys. Sorry about the long time between posts. It was my long weekend at work which meant a lot of work in 36 hours. So I'll get the next show up tomorrow after I get off from yet another shift at work. The next thing up will be EVOLVE and the card for Uprising as we continue to head into the 2016 RCI!

I was beginning to worry. Clare had missed two shows previously. Now she wasn’t on the road with me for EVOLVE. I asked her about it and she seemed to avoid the question. I finally got something out of her when she told me she had “appointments.” It was sad to not have her with me, but I went about my business and went to the locker room to hang out before the show. We decided to run at the larger venue Perry Hall. It was twice as big and held 2,000 people instead of 1,000. I was surprised to see El Generico and Cameron Jones looking through a fine art magazine discussing a trip they were planning to the Art Museum in Aberdeen. They were the only two that weren’t crowded around the 60 inch plasma TV I bring with us on the road. Xavi Ferrara decided to bring his Xbox 360 on the road and had organized a tournament in TCW: Total Mayhem. When I joined in the final match was occurring; a Cage Match pitting Xavi as Wolf Hawkins against KC Glenn as Tommy Cornell. The match had just started and went on for a good twenty minutes before Wolf hit the Full Moon Rising and scored the pin to give the tournament win to Xavi. All in all the locker room was a joyous place just an hour before bell time.

I was on edge before the show. Advanced ticket sales for the event were low because of the threat of a major winter storm bearing down on the area. At-the-door sales hadn’t made matters much better. I knew our attendance was going to be down, so I had to take action and tarp off the upper parts of the arena. Some of the fans that had purchased “nose-bleeds” were being upgraded and taken down lower to fill out the parts of the venue that would be seen on camera. It was a task that took us right up to ten minutes before bell time, but we got it done.

Frankie Perez & KC Glenn vs. Casey Valentine & Steven Parker

The opening bout had great action in it as all four men came to the ring with something to prove. Glenn and Valentine started the match out with some very entertaining chain wrestling that carried them into the fourth minute. Each man tagged out to their partners leading the Traditional Champion Frankie Perez and Steven Parker to take center stage. They had a more physical encounter that led to Steven throwing a thumb to the eye. Parker now had the advantage and began to isolate Frankie from his corner using frequent tags with Valentine. They kept Frankie isolated until they crossed the eleven minute mark. He was able to escape from Steven Parker’s grasp and make the tag to KC Glenn. Glenn came in and laid into Parker, but the numbers game soon came to fruition when Casey Valentine blasted him from behind. The favor was returned when a rejuvenated Frankie Perez clotheslined Valentine out of the ring. Parker fired a kick at KC Glenn’s head that was ducked. KC captured Parker’s leg and snapped him over with his Leg Capture Backdrop Driver to capture the victory for his team.

Winners: KC Glenn and Frankie Perez

Mid Atlantic All Action Title

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Antonio.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/vs.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Dominic%20Devito.jpg

Antonio vs. Dominic Devito©

Dominic Devito came out to defend his title once more against Antonio. The match started out with Devito getting in some flashy offense. Antonio blasted the champ with stiff forearms and elbows every time though. Antonio took control for the next three or four minutes until he got too arrogant. Devito saw his opportunity and sprang like a true champion. The tables turned and Devito was able to slam Antonio to the ground with a Crucifix Powerbomb to pick up the victory and successful defense number seven of the All Action Title.

Winner and STILL Champion: Dominic Devito

Angle Featuring: Dominic Devito and Cameron Vessey

Referee RM Stones hands Devito his title belt and leaves the ring. Dominic hops onto one of the turnbuckles and thrusts the title into the air as the crowd cheers. He looks out to the crowd with a certain amount of happiness in his eyes when they start to yell and boo. Cameron Vessey slides into the ring with a steel chair in hand. He rushes up behind Devito and smashes him in the back with the weapon. Vessey drops the chair to the mat and steps under Dominic’s legs, setting him up for a powerbomb. He lifts the champ up and walks forward before planting him on the steel chair. The champion doesn’t move much as Cameron Vessey stands over him staring. After a moment or two of silence Vessey asks for a microphone and has a few simple words to say.

Vessey: I want a match for the All Action Title.

Vessey then drops the microphone to the mat and leaves the ring with a battered Dominic Devito laying there as the show goes to commercial break.

2016 RCI Play-In #2 – Winner Receives Final Spot

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Quentin%20Queen.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/vs.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Sammy%20The%20Shark.jpg

Quentin Queen vs. Sammy Shark

Each man came out looking to cement their place in the field of sixteen for the 2016 RCI. Sammy Shark got the advantage early with some solid offense. Queen tried as hard as he could to fight back through the opening five or six minutes, but Sammy Shark had an answer for everything. As they headed in to the seventh minute, Sammy Shark went to the top rope for a splash, but Quentin rolled out of the way. Both men were down, bringing Scott Styles to make his standing ten count on both men. Queen was up a split second before Shark and used it to his advantage. He blasted Sammy as he turned back around. Quentin controlled the next few minutes until Sammy hit a low blow out of the officials view. Sammy rolled Quentin up and put his feet on the ropes. A credit to his ability, Scott Styles counted to two and saw Sammy’s feet, bringing the pinfall to a halt. Sammy got up and argued with Scott Styles long enough for Quentin to recover and get to his feet. When Sammy turned around he was caught and Queen hit the Q-Ball to pick up the pinfall victory and move into the Rip Chord Invitational.

Winner and Final Entry Into the RCI: Quentin Queen

Aaron Fujita vs. Lenny Brown vs. Kirk Jameson

These three men came out not knowing if they could be standing across the ring from their first round RCI opponent. Knowing the background of all three men, they would use the match as an opportunity to scout each other anyway. They started off circling one another. It took a few seconds but finally Aaron Fujita made the first move on Lenny Brown. The two locked up and Lenny came out with a rear waistlock. Kirk joined in with a rear waistlock of his own on Brown. Al three of them ran forward into the ropes and came backwards with Oklahoma Rolls. The end result was a double pin. Referee Shane Stones got two counts on both of them before they were kicked out of. The three men went through some pretty innovative three-way chain wrestling for the majority of the match. Each man got their opportunity to dive out onto the other two men during one spot. As they crossed the thirteen minute mark Aaron Fujita was recovering outside the ring after being pushed off the top rope by Lenny Brown. Inside the ring, Brown had the upper hand in a brawl with Jameson. Lenny fired a clothesline, but Kirk ducked and caught him with a kick to the gut. Lenny was planted with a Bullseye before he knew it. Kirk got to his feet, ready to head over to make the pin, but Aaron Fujita was right there waiting. He sprang and planted Kirk with a Packaged Piledriver before heading to the top rope. He readied himself and then came down with his Convective Inhibition, a reverse 450, on Lenny Brown to pick up the pinfall and victory.

Winner: Aaron Fujita

El Heroe Mexicano vs. Nelson Callum

Having been eliminated from the tournament picture last week on Uprising, Nelson Callum came out with nothing to lose. El Heroe Mexicano was the man that had everything to lose. His spot in the tournament was not in jeopardy, but his momentum as the big event drew closer was. Callum got the early advantage, simply trying to wear down the masked man. Heroe fought back eventually that led to him landing the Mexican Splash (Shooting Star Press) to pick up the pinfall.

Winner: El Heroe Mexicano

Future opponents were teamed up again here. Andrews and Prudence started the match off with a bit of a feeling out process. That only lasted a minute or two before they shifted into a series of chain wrestling. The two would go through a series of moves with Andrews always coming out one step ahead of Prudence. James was furious, but kept trying to one-up the Mid Atlantic Champion. Each time Aaron would come out with the upper hand. James finally tagged out and DWN requested that Zimmy Bumfhole be tagged in as well. The champion obliged and Zimmy came into the match. The next ten minutes or so was filled with frequent tags and neither team gaining much of an advantage. They approached the sixteen minute mark with Newton and Andrews in the ring. Aaron tried to hook DWN for a dragon suplex, but Newton had blocked it and was attempting to bring Aaron down with a backslide. Zimmy came in and fired a kick towards DWN’s face, but the former Mid Atlantic Champion ducked. The kick connected to the back of Andrews’ skull and sent him to the mat. Prudence came in and took Bumfhole, who was in shock of what he had just done, and planted him with a huge implant DDT. Newton latched the STF onto Aaron Andrews who was still out from the kick to the back of the head. MAW Official Scott Styles had no choice but to call for the bell and award the match to Newton and Prudence by submission.

Winners: Davis Wayne Newton and James Prudence

Sorry about the inactivity as of late. My weekends are busy during the month of October. As I've mentioned before, I work in one of the most popular haunted houses in the state of Illinois. With work and the haunted house this past weekend, I've been way busy. The show will go up tomorrow before I head into work, Thanks for sticking with me.

Aaron Fujita & Greg Black vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Casey Valentine

The opening match of the night featured top notch action, as would be expected from what could arguably be the top seeds in the RCI. Fujita and Valentine started things off with some feeling out. After a minute they transitioned into some solid chain wrestling that took up the next two or three minutes. They ended up in a stalemate; neither man was able to get the upper hand. They both tagged out to their respective partners. Greg Black made only his second appearance for MAW here. He circled the ring with Newton for a second and then the two came together in a tie up. Black got the advantage out of that hold and things remained that way for the next several minutes. Newton was finally able to tag in Casey Valentine who came in looking to clean house. He wasn’t able to though. Black really took it to Casey. Valentine was able to block a few strikes and make a comeback. He had Greg Black rocked, bringing the tag to Aaron Fujita. As Fujita entered the ring, Newton darted around the ring and began to brawl with Greg Black outside the ring. Valentine attempted a quick Deep Impact on Fujita, but Aaron wiggled free and caught Casey with the QG-Theory piledriver to pick up the victory for his team.

Winners: Aaron Fujita and Greg Black

Josh Jones vs. Lassana Makutsi

Josh Jones had taken a big step forward last week by defeating Sammy Shark to grab the final spot in this year’s tournament. This week he had a young man in Lassana Makutsi that was looking for a big win to get him back into the thick of things. Makutsi came out of the gate with a certain fire under him, landing numerous blows in the opening few minutes that got him near falls. Jones fought back valiantly and was able to hit Lassana with the Canadian Backdrop to pick up a victory in eight and a half minutes.

Winner: Josh Jones

Darryl Devine vs. Lenny Brown vs. Quentin Queen

All three men were just one night away from a huge opportunity. They all wanted a victory tonight to catapult them into the tournament. The three men each took turns pairing of in the opening five minutes to do a little chain wrestling with the third man observing. After the first five minutes it looked like Lenny Brown had had enough and began using his slight size advantage to overpower the other two men. It was a constant struggle for control throughout and when they crossed the tenth minute, there was still no clear man in control. Darryl Devine caught Quentin Queen with the Devine Dream Drop and was looking for the pin when Lenny Brown broke up the count. He did so by hoisting Devine up and planting him with his fireman’s carry DDT he called the Star Treatment to pick up the pinfall victory.

Winner: Lenny Brown

Frankie Perez has said that he has a big announcement later tonight concerning the role that the Traditional Title will play throughout the tournament. Without further ado, here are the tournament brackets.

Fumihiro Ota vs. El Heroe Mexicano vs. KC Glenn

In another RCI Preview Match these three men came out looking to gain momentum. They approached the match with the same strategy; isolate one of their opponents. Each man took their turn in control. Fumihiro looked very impressive, using numerous buzzsaw like kicks to his advantage. Heroe dominated Ota with his agility and ability through the air. Glenn used his striking ability and power moves to dominate Heroe. Glenn hit the Leg Capture Backdrop Driver and was immediately met with a stiff kick to the back of the head from Ota. Fumihiro made the cover and picked up the victory in just over eleven minutes.

Winner: Fumihiro Ota

Kirk Jameson vs. Frederique Antonio Garcia vs. Frankie Perez ©

The Traditional Title was on the line as these three men came out for another RCI preview match. The match started with Garcia taking complete control as he fended off both Kirk and Frankie for the opening few minutes. Garcia held control until Kirk and Frankie began to work together against him. They double teamed him all the way to the ten minute mark when he was able to make a slight comeback. Garcia took Jameson out of the equation with a huge big boot that sent him to the outside. Perez was then able to lock Garcia in the P-Clutch to gain the submission victory and another successful defense of his title.

Winner and STILL Champion: Frankie Perez

Angle Featuring: Mid Atlantic Traditional Champion Frankie Perez

After Frankie is handed his title belt back and declared the winner of the match, he gets to his feet and asks for a microphone. He receives it and takes a moment to catch his breath before bringing the microphone up to his mouth to speak.

Perez: You know with the tournament tomorrow night, everyone has been talking about whom is going to make their way through the tournament and capture that shot at the Mid Atlantic Title. I’m one of the men that will be trying to wrestle my way to the finals and I’ll do so with this Traditional Title hanging from my shoulder. So what becomes of my title? I’ve thought long and hard about this. I even had a meeting today with Haley Buck. I am going to defend my title throughout the tournament against anyone who wants a shot. Haley Buck has thrown in a catch though. If one of my opponents decides to challenge for the Traditional Title, they will forfeit their opportunity to be the number one contender to the Mid Atlantic Title should they win the tournament. So I challenge any man that I face to step up and challenge me for my title. I’ll see you all tomorrow night!

The crowd buzzes a bit as Frankie sets the microphone down and exits the ring, heading towards the back.

Aaron Andrews & Zimmy Bumfhole vs. Steven Parker & James Prudence

One more time before their title match Zimmy and Aaron teamed up in the main event of Uprising. Andrews and Prudence started the match out with five solid minutes of solid chain wrestling that contained arm drags, hip tosses, holds and reversals. The fans were quite entertained by the opening portion of the bout. Aaron and James tagged out to their respective partners leaving Bumfhole and Parker to do battle. Their encounter was much less technical and broke down to a striking contest. Parker was able to gain the advantage and his team began to isolate Bumfhole from his corner. Bumfhole was worn down and there was nothing Aaron Andrews could do until Zimmy broke free and made the hot tag at the sixteen minute mark. Andrews came in a house of fire and cleared both Parker and Prudence out of the ring. Prudence got planted with an Ace Crusher but the count was broken up at two when Parker came back into the ring. Andrews turned to Parker and the two began brawling wildly as Prudence recovered. Zimmy Bumfhole took Prudence back out of the ring with a clothesline. That allowed Andrews to plant Parker with the Ace Driver and pick up the pinfall for the victory in eighteen minutes.

Angle Featuring: Aaron Andrews, Zimmy Bumfhole, Steven Parker and James Prudence

Aaron Andrews and Zimmy Bumfhole are both on the turnbuckles celebrating their victory when Steven Parker and James Prudence attacked. They pulled the winning team from the turnbuckles and began to lay a beating to them. The four wrestlers brawled for a few moments until Andrews and Bumfhole began to get the upper-hand. Aaron and Zimmy fought their battles with their backs to one another and finally were able to vanquish Parker and Prudence from the ring with clotheslines. The crowd cheered as Andrews and Bumfhole were on edge. They backed up until they bumped into one another and turned around, fists ready to fly. They realized that it was a friend and not a foe and eased up their tension. Bumfhole laughed a bit and turned to play to the crowd. When he turned back around, he was met with a huge superkick from the Mid Atlantic Champion. Uprising went off the air with Aaron Andrews peering down at the motionless body of Zimmy Bumfhole.

So there are a LOT of prediction points at stake here. 17 to be exact. Be sure to predict the tournament carefully. If you predict the right person out of round one, but choose the person they beat to win round two, you won't get the point. Good luck! And because I've been lazy as hell about prediction standings, here are the current standings before the RCI.

I'm assuming this is a heel turn by Andrews. That means turning the champ, which is something I can't help but love. I foresee a long, long title reign for him, to be finally ended by the man he turned on (and initially beats), Zimmy!

This chain of events would prove to be the standard in the match. Jameson would find his opportunity and get in a few shots, but Garcia would use his experience and size advantage to muscle his way back into control. In the end, Garcia’s brute strength was too much for Jameson. The stakes were a little bit higher in this meeting and both of them knew it. The crowd was solidly behind MAW’s resident ultra good guy. Parker was admonished early and often when he consistently turned to underhanded tactics trying to gain the advantage. Parker stretched the rules as far as he could, making sure that he got all he could. Fujita was reeling and in a very bad way as the match approached the nine minute mark, but he wasn’t done yet. Parker went for the Future Shock, but couldn’t quite get Fujita positioned correctly. He dropped Aaron to the mat and took a second to yell to a few front row fans. When he moved back to his opponent, Fujita reached up and grabbed a small package that got a believable near fall. The two got up and Fujita had new life. Parker tried for the Future Shock one more time, but Fujita avoided it and hit the Packaged Piledriver that was enough to garner victory.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

Heroe tried to use his speed and agility to take control while Lenny Brown tried to keep the match on the ground. Each was successful throughout the match as both styles got intertwined. Brown controlled the majority of the match, catching the masked Mexican in several holds for several moments at a time. Mexicano got his opening and twisted out of an arm bar, snapping Brown over with a Lucha throw. The tables had changed from here on out and Heroe kept Brown moving to wear him down. Heroe hit the ropes and came back. Brown sidestepped him and shoved him to the ropes again. When the masked man came back, Brown shoved him up into the air. Heroe landed on Brown’s shoulders and quickly snapped him over with a hurrincanrana. Giving Lenny no time to recover, Heroe hooked both legs and held on for the pinfall.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

The match was highlighted by the two men meeting in the center of the ring and going kick for kick, forearm for forearm and headbutt for headbutt. The crowd groaned with every blow as the exchange lasted a good two minutes. In the match’s closing minutes, Ota was wearing the champion down with kicks to the kidneys. Devito held complete control of the match for the first four minutes until Vessey landed a low blow out of the view of Scott Styles. Vessey took control and began to wear down Dominic with power moves to weaken his head and neck in preparation for the Vessey Driver. That’s exactly where it led. Vessey planted Devito with the Vessey Driver and covered, but only got a two count, sending the fans into a frenzy. Vessey went nuts himself and cornered the official questioning the speed of his count. Scott Styles pleaded his impartialness and then suggested that Vessey pay attention to his opponent. When Vessey went back to work, Devito rolled him up for a believable near fall. Both men got to their feet, leading to Devito’s attempt to hit the Crucifix Powerbomb. Vessey slipped off his back and met the champion with boot to the stomach. The stiffness from Perez’s opening round match carried over here and was met with Fujita’s equally as hard strikes. They traded strikes for a majority of the opening five minutes. Forearms, European Uppercuts, headbutts and chops were flying constantly. Neither man had an advantage during the exchange. As they crossed into the fifth minute, things started to get a bit more intense as they each transitioned into high impact moves to set up for their finishers. At the ninth minute, Perez dropped Fujita high on his head and neck with a backdrop driver. Fujita rolled right to his feet and charged up behind Perez, snapping him over with a backdrop driver of his own. Perez landed high on his neck too and rolled to his feet. The two had the fighting spirit inside them as they took the punishment of the high impact moves and traded head-droppy moves for at least thirty seconds. Finally both men were down after Perez dropped Fujita on his head with a German Suplex and Fujita got back up and nearly decapitated his opponent with a lariat. Scott Styles administered his standing ten count and watched both men get to their feet at the count of 8. They were in opposite corners when Fujita came across the ring and hit a sickening Yakuza kick to Perez’s face. He lifted Frankie to a seated position on the top rope and followed him up where he grabbed a front facelock. He lifted the Traditional Champion into the air and brought him down headfirst on the turnbuckle with his brainbuster he called the Downdraft. Newton slowly made his comeback, taking his shots here and there until he had worked over Heroe’s knee enough to slow him down. Newton had all the time he needed now to dismantle Mexicano. He thought he had the match won when he hit the Fisherman’s Suplex but Heroe surprised everyone when he kicked out. Mexicano made a surge when he snapped Newton over with a reverse hurrincanrana followed by a step-up enziguri and a sickening tornado DDT. Newton kicked out after two and Heroe was dumbfounded. In the opening three minutes the crowd saw a chain wrestling exchange that ended in a standoff followed by a dive from each man to the floor. Fujita capped things off with a diving tornado DDT outside. It was a sight that needed to be seen to believe. Black stood on one side of the ring post, dazed. Fujita was around the corner on the other side with the post in between them. Aaron got a running star, dove between the bottom and middle ropes and latched onto Black’s head to finish of the DDT. The pace and action didn’t let up the entire match. At the eleven minute mark, Black went up top for a high risk move, but was stopped by Fujita. Aaron climbed onto the apron and landed a big kick to the head that sent Black crashing to the mat below. Glenn wanted Newton to put his ego aside for once and offered a handshake. Newton ignored the request and told Glenn he’d have to earn it. The two went through a very nice opening sequence that took up the first five minutes of the match. The two would go through a bit of chain wrestling with Glenn coming out on top. He’d offer his hand to Newton and ask if he’d earned it. After the fourth time this sequence took place, Newton looked like he was finally ready, but when he grasped Glenn’s hand for the shake, he attacked. Newton took control of the match there and began to physically wear down KC. When they crossed the ten minute mark, Glenn had started to make a comeback. He had been able to get in a few shots here and there to keep himself in the match. Newton went for the Fisherman’s Suplex, but Glenn blocked it and dropped Newton on his head with a brainbuster. Both men were down now and RM Stones was forced to administer the standing ten count. Both men got to their feet at seven and came together in the center of the ring. KC Glenn looked as if he had new life. As they approached the eleventh minute, Newton came sprinting across the ring at Glenn who was in the opposite corner. Glenn came out at the same time and hit a sickening superkick that sent Davis down. Glenn climbed the turnbuckle and hit a beautiful 450 splash that was enough to secure the pinfall and move on to the finals.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

</span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">Both workers were surprised when Haley Buck made an appearance after they had both made their entrances and declared this match a twenty minute iron man match. The fans seemed pleased and the bell rang to start the match. After weeks of being partners, Aaron and Zimmy circled each other. They came together in a standard collar and elbow tie-up. As was the standard for the evening the match was opened by a lengthy feeling out process. It was apparent that neither man wanted to rush into a plan without testing the waters first. The first six minutes or so was filled with a lot of simple holds and reversals. No matter what hold one man placed his opponent, there would be a reversal or counter to get out of it. The crowd seemed to enjoy the slower pace too. The tension that had been created the last two weeks was visible. The pace began to quicken when Andrews shot Bumfhole into the ropes and threw a clothesline. Bumfhole ducked and hit the ropes again. He leapt into the air on his return and snapped the champion over with a hurrincanrana. Andrews slid out of the ring to collect his thoughts, but never got the chance. Zimmy hit the ropes and came charging, diving through the ropes and hitting a huge tope that put both men down. The match was largely dominated by back and forth offense for the next while. Neither man had scored a fall as they crossed into the seventeenth minute. Zimmy had control for the moment with a headlock on the champ. Andrews began to fight his way back to his feet and broke free with an elbow to the stomach. Andrews hit the ropes and came back with a huge big boot to Bumfhole’s head. Aaron covered and got a believable near fall that Zimmy kicked out of. Andrews stood up with a look on his face that expressed his fatigue. He waited for Bumfhole to get up and pounced. A boot to the gut set him up and a second later Aaron had Zimmy on his shoulders for the Ace Driver. Bumfhole was able to land a knee to the back of the head and drop to the canvas before Andrews hit the move. Zimmy latched onto Aaron’s arms and took him down with a backslide that got another believable near fall. The crowd now broke out into a huge dueling chant of “Let’s go Zimmy!” and “Let’s go Aaron!”</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

</span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">Aaron got up to his feet but Zimmy was there already. Bumfhole took him over with another backslide, but this time Aaron rolled through, landing on his feet. When they both stood up, he caught Zimmy with another boot to the gut and hoisted him onto his shoulders. This time there was no hesitation. He dumped Bumfhole onto his head with the Ace Driver and slumped over his body for the pinfall. The crowd exploded when Zimmy kicked out at the last millisecond. Andrews got to his feet with a look that asked “What do I have to do?” He took a deep breath and lifted Zimmy back up before stepping back. He fired a superkick, but Bumfhole had just enough energy to swat the leg away. Aaron turned back to face Bumfhole and Zimmy planted a foot on his thigh before stepping up and hitting a huge enziguri to the back of the head. Andrews went down and was left vulnerable for Bumfhole. There was only a minute and a half remaining in the match. Zimmy hit the ropes and came down across Aaron’s chest with a senton. The high flyer got right back up and did the same thing twice more before scaling the turnbuckles. The clock ticked down to thirty seconds now and Zimmy knew he had to hurry. He steadied himself and came down looking for his Bumfhole in One frog splash, but Aaron got his knees up. Zimmy landed hard and rolled to his back clutching his ribs. Aaron pulled himself up with the ropes and then moved in. He lifted Zimmy onto his shoulders and planted him with another Ace Driver as the clock hit ten seconds. He covered and Scott Styles counted the pinfall just as time expired to give the victory to Aaron Andrews.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

</span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">It was finally time for the finals of the tournament. Two men had outlasted fourteen others and endured what will most likely be the most grueling night of their year to be there. Aaron Fujita and KC Glenn stood across the ring from one another with tired but determined looks on their faces. Scott Styles called for the bell and the two competitors began circling the ring. They came together in a collar and elbow tie-up with Glenn taking a leg from Fujita and going on the offensive. Glenn latched onto the knee and began working over anything that was close. Fujita was able to crawl to within reach of the ropes and cause a break quickly. The two men both got to their feet again and tied up once more. This time Fujita was able to take a leg and apply a similar hold that he had just been in. Zimmy was able to get to the ropes quickly as well and break the hold. Again they tied up, but this time Aaron grabbed a side headlock and applied pressure. Glenn pushed Aaron into the ropes and took him down with a shoulder tackle when he returned. This began a chain wrestling sequence that lasted nearly two full minutes. There were arm drags, hip tosses, head scissors and much more. When the two fired simultaneous dropkicks that missed, they both flipped to their feet and were at a standoff. The crowd applauded the exchange and cheered them both on. The next several minutes of the match saw each man hold control temporarily before the other would catch a break and take over.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

</span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">At the fourteen minute mark, Fujita backed Glenn into the corner and threw a series of stiff chops that reddened KC’s chest. Glenn, who isn’t exactly known for his strikes, surprised everyone when he turned Fujita around and landed some sick chops of his own. Aaron exploded from the corner with a European uppercut that rocked the young southerner. Glenn caught his breath and came back with one of his own. The two exchanged uppercuts, ten at least, before Aaron had finally had enough and grabbed a handful of Glenn’s hair. He brought his head down into contact with his opponent’s. The crowd let out a collective groan and then did so again when Glenn returned the favor with a headbutt of his own. The sickening thunk of human skulls colliding reverberated off the walls of the Mid Atlantic Center as each man hit five. Fujita got the final word in with four consecutive headbutts, the final one so hard in looked to knock both men unconscious. Fujita collapsed to the mat with Glenn right behind him. Glenn had fallen on top of Aaron and Scott Styles was forced to count the pinfall. Fujita lifted his shoulder just in the nick of time and the crowd applauded the spot.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

</span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">Both men were still down on the mat leaving the official no choice but to begin counting. At six neither was moving. At eight each man had a death grip on the top rope trying to pull themselves up. At nine, Scott Styles said both men had reached their feet. The two came back together in the center of the ring and Fujita rocked Glenn with a forearm. KC answered with one of his own. The shots were much weaker due to the fatigue wearing both men down. They each seemed to get a second wind though as the strikes progressively got harder and harder. Glenn blocked a forearm from Fujita and hit one of his own before spinning three hundred and sixty degrees and hitting another. Fujita spun around, dazed from the shot. Glenn latched onto both of Fujita’s arms in a half tiger half dragon fashion and dumped him on his head with a suplex. Fujita rolled right to his feet, still out of it. Glenn came forward and turned Fujita around once more, this time latching onto his leg. Glenn lifted Fujita up and over, dumping him on his head with the Leg Capture Backdrop Driver. The crowd cheered wildly as Glenn covered, sure he had the victory. The crowd exploded when Fujita placed his leg on the bottom rope just before Scott Style’s hand hit the mat for a third time. Glenn got to his feet and went to the opposite corner to catch his breath and wait for Fujita to stand. When he did, KC came out of the corner with a superkick, but Aaron ducked and slammed on the brakes. He turned and nearly decapitated Glenn with a lariat. He covered his lifeless opponent, but Glenn got his shoulder up at the last second. When both men got to their feet, it was out of pure instinct. Glenn charged forward and fired a clothesline that was ducked. Fujita spun around to cut Glenn off, but was met with a boot to the stomach. Glenn spun him around and sent Fujita up and over with his backdrop driver once more. This time, however, Fujita got his arms up to protect his head and rolled right to his feet unhurt. Glenn got up and turned right into a step-up enziguri. Glenn didn’t go down and Fujita saw his chance. He lifted KC up and planted him with the QG-Theory piledriver. The crowd was going crazy when Aaron covered and Scott Styles counted the pinfall to award the match to Aaron Fujita.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

That left some people without much time to plan their matches. Now, here’s the full scoop on that. When I completed the deal that would bring Greg Black into MAW for three shows, I made it very clear to him that he was going to be heading to the finals of the tournament. He sounded ecstatic. I e-mailed the complete booking sheet to every member of our roster three weeks prior to the show. When he showed up to the building he told me that he’d been thinking and decided he wouldn’t wrestle more than three matches in one night. That is what forced the re-write. In hindsight, I’m glad that it wasn’t me and him in the finals, because let’s face it; we didn’t exactly steal the show. Needless to say, as great of a worker he is, I don’t think we’ll have Greg Black back for a while.</strong></em></span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

Whoa, some of the match grades weren't the best but all-in-all a really nice show. Complete surprise on the Fujita turn. I was expecting something when I saw two faces in the final but would have leaned Glenn going heel and maybe teaming with Steven Parker (great tag chemistry in my MAW game). Looking forward to some great matches with Mitico.

I agree, really enjoyed the surprise Fujita heel turn. Finally get what you've been questing for for years, and then to just snap once you get it...I like.

Don't feel too bad about the match grades. That's just the reality of running someone in that many matches in one night. The write ups were still good, which is all that matters.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't going to be good when the opener got an 84. I'm not worried. It still got me the highest PPV buyrate I've ever had. I'm glad you guys liked the show and thanks for your comments. I know the last two matches were very long winded, I apologize :-)
