Update: Allright guys. I'm finishing up the main event, but am going to have to head to bed before I can post the show. I've got a meeting at work tomorrow at 9 AM and I guess the assistant manager shouldn't over sleep should I? Anyway, after the meeting I have to run a few errands and hopefully I'll be back in town with enough time to format and post the show before work. Til then.

Here's the show. Again I'd like to get your comments so:

Moment of the Night:

Thoughts:

----------------------------------------

It was another quiet night before the show. The boys had been doing very well keeping the peace as of late and that made me happy. Jay hadn’t acted up for months and that was a nice change of events. The quiet time allowed myself and Clare to enjoy some alone time, or sort of alone time, together. Guys kept coming to my office to discuss things as Clare and I tried to enjoy a movie on my lap top. We were nearing the end of “Zombieland” when no knock came at the door, just a figure that pushed in and flipped on the light.

Jay: Come on Clare, we need to go over what’s going to happen tonight.

We were both rubbing our eyes, trying to shield them from the bright light as well when I recognized the voice as Jay Chord. Clare stretched and stood up, but not before leaning in and giving me a kiss. I said I’d see her later and got up myself as she exited the room. Jay continued to glare at me as I flashed a smile in his direction and irritated him more.

Aaron: Good luck tonight Jay.

He didn’t reply with anything directly at me, but I did hear something under his breath as he turned and walked out.

Jay: I’m not the one who needs it.

This had me worried. Really worried about what might happen later.

Jared Johnson vs. Jake Idol

These two men gave it their all in the time they had and put on a decent match. Jared worked over Jake’s arm and back en route to locking in the Carolina Crossface at the four and a half minute mark. After a few moments in the submission, Idol had no choice but to tap out, giving the victory to Johnson.

Main Show

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Hugh%20de%20Aske.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Citizen%20X.jpg

Hugh de Aske vs. Citizen X

The crowd was vocal for our opening contest and the guys involved gave them some decent action in return. Citizen X came out with the advantage, using his speed to keep the pirate off balance. It wasn’t long before Hugh was able to catch up and the two began to trade hip tosses and arm drags. At one point each man hit an arm drag and a hip toss. They each followed it up with hurrincanranas. Finally they both attempted dropkicks at the same time, connecting with nothing but air and nipping up into a stand off. The crowd applauded the display and began to clap their hands rhythmically to get the competitors going again. As they crossed the eleven minute mark, there was no clear advantage. However as X came off the top rope with a high risk move, Hugh side-stepped and planted a huge European uppercut to the chest of his opponent. This was all the Pirate needed to lift X up and drive him down with the Cut-Throat Driver to pick up the victory at the twelve minute mark.

Winner: Hugh de Aske

Kashmir Singh vs. Jefferson Stardust w/ Lisa Bowen

The crowd was a bit more quiet here, but the action was still decent. These two men have squiared off in tag team action before but a singles match is what they got this time around. Kashmir used his experience advantage to take control early. He used strikes to keep Jefferson reeling and followed most of them up with impact moves such as backbreakers and side slams to wear the rock star down. Jefferson’s superior technical ability came to use though as he slowly began to come back by snatching Singh up in rest holds. The pace of the match quickened and became more evenly matched as they crossed the sixth minute. Singh missed a clothesline which allowed Stardust to hit a neckbreaker variation and head up top. He came crashing down with the Stage Dive and picked up the pinfall in just over seven minutes.

Winner: Jefferson Stardust

Kirk Jameson vs. Ricky Douglas w/ Ernest Forthdyke-Hume

Again the crowd was quiet here, but the action was decent. It was all Kirk to open the match as he used his mat skills to keep Ricky Douglas on the ropes. Ricky was able to get in a few stiff strikes including the most unnecessary move in pro wrestling; the dragon kick to the back. This only worked to fire Jameson up more as he surprised everyone with a dragon kick of his own. The vicious kick took the breath from Douglas which he never got back. Jameson whipped Ricky into the ropes and caught him with his superkick named the Bullseye to pick up the victory in just under six minutes.

Winner: Kirk Jameson

The crowd sprang to its feet as Aaron Fujita’s music played and he pushed through the curtain. He was dressed to do battle with Jay Chord and seemed focused as he made his way down to the ring. Before entering he grabbed a microphone from ringside and got into the ring, asking for his music to be cut before speaking.

Aaron: You know I’ve been coming here to MAW for a few years now. I’ve traveled the country and wrestled in almost every state. I know I’m still young, but the one thing I’ve never been able to accomplish since I got into this business is win a championship. I’ve gotten numerous chances at the Mid Atlantic Title, one of the most prestigious titles in North America, but I always fall just a little bit short. I hear people say I have the skills to be a star and I know I have the desire and dedication to make it big, but it seems as though luck just isn’t on my side. Tonight begins my journey to become the Mid Atlantic Championship. I’m not doing it for me or my family, I’m going to do it for you fans. You guys are the greatest wrestling fans in America today!

The crowd answers back with a loud chorus of cheers and a lengthy “MAW” chant as Fujita hands the microphone off and prepares for his match.

Aaron Fujita vs. Jay Chord w/ Clare South

The crowd was amped up after Fujita’s promo and he and Jay gave them a good match for their response. Aaron took early control as the two men put on a chain wrestling clinic for the opening ten minutes. Each man would get their opponent into a submission hold, but wouldn’t stay there for long as they always had a way out. As they entered the twelfth minute, the pace began to change to stiff strikes. Each man held their own, but it was clear that Fujita had the advantage when it came to duking it out. Aaron fired a series of chops to back Jay into the corner and then went to a chop/punch combination. After five or six sets of this combination he took Chord over with a snap mare. Aaron fired a chop to the back and followed it up with a kick to the chest for a two count. Fujita didn’t let up and continued to take it to Jay for the next several minutes. As they approached the eighteen minute mark Aaron had begun wearing Jay down with impact move after impact move, primarily focusing on the neck. Aaron used numerous neckbreaker variations and attempted pinfalls to wear his opponent down. Fujita sent Chord into the ropes and leapt into the air. Jay ducked under him and hit the ropes again. At the same time Aaron hit the opposite ropes and when the two men met up again in the center of the ring they had the same idea. Both fired clotheslines that connected with each other, sending them both to the mat and motionless. Jay Fair immediately began administering the standing ten count. At six they both began to stir. By eight, they were both on their feet at the same time, giving no man a clear advantage. They met in the center of the ring and began trading right hands. Jay grabbed the edge by hitting three consecutive blows. He spun around looking for a discus lariat, but Aaron ducked. Jay’s momentum carried him around another 180 degrees allowing Fujita to snatch him up in an attempt at the QG Theory. Jay quickly wiggled free and turned, catching Aaron with a boot to the stomach. Jay tried to set Fujita up for the Cradle Piledriver, but was unable to control him. Jay tried to send Aaron into the corner with a whip, but it was reversed. Never giving his opponent a chance to think, Aaron charged forward and planted a Yakuza kick right into Jay’s face. Jay stumbled from the corner and landed backwards into the half tiger half dragon grasp of Aaron Fujita. Aaron lifted Jay up and over, dumping him on his head with the half and half suplex. The crowd erupted as Aaron scrambled over and hooked the leg as Jay Fair slid into position.

ONE! TWO! THRE-----OHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Jay just got the shoulder up at two and two thirds. Aaron lifted Chord back up and backed him into the corner with a few forearms. He lifted the young Chord to a sitting position on the top rope and climbed up after him, signaling for his turnbuckle brainbuster. Jay fought it off and leapt over top, dragging Fujita down with a sunset flip bomb. Chord didn’t go for the cover, but instead lifted his opponent up and looked to do more damage. They had entered the twenty second minute now but were both on their second winds. Jay tried to set Aaron up for the Cradle Piledriver again, but Fujita sent him over with a backdrop to block it. Jay popped right back up and turned to a boot from Fujita. Aaron set him up for a piledriver and hooked both arms and legs as he lifted. Without much hesitation he dropped, planting Chord with the Packaged Piledriver. He hooked the leg again as the crowd went nuts in the background.

ONE! TWO! THRE-------OHHHHHHHHHH!

Jay had kicked out again. Aaron frantically hoisted Chord back up to his feet and sent him into the corner with a whip. Aaron charged forward as Jay came out of the corner and ducked the clothesline attempt. Aaron couldn’t stop his momentum and continued to the corner where Jay Fair was caught in the middle. The official collapsed to the mat, knocked out as Aaron turned back to Jay. Jay fired a clothesline that Aaron ducked. Chord never had a chance to turn around as Fujita grabbed his back and hauled him in, setting up for the QG Theory. He lifted Jay up and twisted him about, dropping him on his head as the crowd cheered. Aaron hooked the leg, but there was no referee to make the count. As Aaron went to stand up, Clare South entered the ring and grabbed his arm. Aaron spun around ready to swing, but stopped short. Clare reared back and brought a slap across Fujita’s face that echoed throughout the arena. Aaron smiled as he held his cheek and reached out to grab her by the hair. Before he could do anything she lifted her leg and kicked the fan favorite between the legs. He stooped over and slowly turned around into the waiting grasp of Jay Chord. The referee began to stir as Clare jumped back to ringside. Jay lifted Fujita up and planted him with the Cradle Piledriver. Chord hooked the leg as a still groggy Jay Fair came in and counted amidst a chorus of boos.

Jay has his hand raised after the match. He looks to the announce table and points to his father before climbing out of the ring and retrieving a microphone. He stands a few feet from his father and stares him in the eyes as he speaks.

Jay: Are you ready to admit you are a coward? For eighteen years all I ever heard was people asking me when I was going to follow in your footsteps and become a wrestler. So like everyone expected, I became a wrestler. Then everyone called me a spoiled brat because I received a job here as soon as I was ready. When I broke my jaw in my third match everyone said “Oh he’s got a lot to learn if he’s going to be as good as his father.” I’m sick and tired of living in your god-awful shadow. I am not Rip Chord. I am better. I am Jay Chord, ten times the competitor and fifty times the man. You take this microphone and admit to the world that I am better than you; that you were a failure as a father and this will all be over with.

Jay attempts to hand the microphone to Rip, but the legend refuses to take it. Jay shrugs his shoulders and snatches up a steel chair before returning to the ring. Jay Fair is recovering on the outside and Aaron Fujita is just getting to his feet. Jay drops the microphone and winds up with the steel, bringing it down onto the skull of Fujita. He drops the steel seat and grabs the microphone once more as he turns back to look at his father.

Jay: You are a coward. You are just going to sit there and watch me destroy any hopes this kid ever had of making it big.

Jay turns around and grabs Aaron by the hair, turning him to face Rip. Blood is pouring from Aaron’s brow, covering his face in the crimson liquid.

Jay: This was not my doing Rip. Aaron’s blood is on your hands.

Jay drops the microphone and lifts Aaron up to his feet. With no fight in him at all, Aaron is helpless as Jay grabs his head and drops him onto the chair with a Rip Chord DDT. The crowd boos loudly as Jay turns and stares at his father before exiting the ring and heading to the back.

KC Glenn vs. Barry Kingman ©

The crowd was not quite as into this match as the previous, but the action was still good. KC Glenn used his youth, speed and agility to run circles around Kingman at the opening of the match. He rolled the champion up a handful of times for near falls in the first three minutes. Eventually KC made the mistake of going to the top too many times and found himself crotched on the top turnbuckle. The Traditional Champion climbed up after him and brought him back to the ring with a huge superplex. Kingman covered but only got a two count before his challenger kicked out. KC had one more shot of energy in him as they crossed the eight minute mark, snapping Kingman over with a hurrincanrana. He went up to the top and waited for Barry to stand before leaping with a front flip. He landed on Kingman’s shoulders for the dragonrana attempt, but the champ caught him and ran forward, planting him with the Black Out to get the victory.

American Patriot vs. Frankie Perez

The crowd murmured with anticipation as the bell rang to open the contest. The two men shook hands and then came together with a tie-up. After a few moments of struggling neither man had control and they broke away. They came together in another collar and elbow tie up that Perez came out of with a wrist lock. He wrenched back on the hold for a moment before Patriot landed a sickening forearm to the side of the head. This is how the opening ten minutes played out with Perez trying to catch American Patriot in numerous holds, but the former Mid Atlantic Champion breaking free with strikes. Frankie finally nodded and told Patriot that was a dangerous place to go. The two men began to trade strikes; Patriot used upper body offense such as forearms and headbutts while Frankie turned to lower body offense with kick after kick. The crowd watched on the edge of their seats as Frankie slowly began to grab the advantage with numerous seated kicks. Frankie turned his attention to the head and neck, trying to soften Patriot up for the Perfect Parity. At the fifteen minute mark neither man had attempted many pinfalls at all but Frankie wanted to, looking to hit the small package driver. Patriot wiggled free and fired a headbutt that rocked Perez. With his opponent stunned, Patriot set Frankie up and drove his head to the mat with an Inverted Piledriver out of nowhere. He covered as Jay Fair slid in for the count.

ONE! TWO! THRE-----RAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Frankie had kicked out. Patriot didn’t waste any time to argue with the referee, but instead lifted Frankie to his feet and began pounding him with right hand after right hand. The crowd cheered trying to will Frankie to a comeback. It worked as they crossed the seventeen minute mark. Frankie blocked a few shots from Patriot and landed a few of his own, finishing with a step up enziguri. Both men were down on the mat, leaving Jay Fair to administer the standing ten count. Both men were up by the count of six and met in the center of the ring where Frankie hit another step-up enziguri that left Patriot reeling. Frankie grabbed a front face lock and leapt into the air, driving Patriot’s head and neck to the canvas with the Perfect Parity. The crowd cheered loudly as Frankie held on for the cover.

ONE! TWO! THR-----OHHHHHHH!

The fans were on their feet now as Frankie got right up and began to quickly work over his opponent’s back. Frankie tried to tie Patriot up into the P-Clutch, but Patriot countered with a roll-up that garnered him a two count. Frankie went right back to his submission move, locking it in. The crowd was going nuts, some chanting for Patriot to tap and some chanting his name to get him motivated. He began inching his way closer and closer to the ropes, but just a foot away, Frankie released the hold and dragged him back to the center of the ring where he applied the hold again. It looked like the end for American Patriot as Jay Fair was right in his face asking him if he wanted to give it up. Patriot’s hand was twitching more and more, but never got the chance to slap the mat as the bell rang to signal a twenty minute time limit draw.

Winner: Time Limit Draw

Frankie immediately released the hold and fell over to catch his breath. When he had helped Patriot to his feet. Patriot hugged him and hobbled over to ringside where he received a microphone.

Patriot: How about that Frankie Perez?

The crowd cheered as Perez thanked the former champion for his kindness and ducked out of the ring.

Patriot: Now, even though I didn’t win that match I think I’ve proven that I have not lost a step since losing my Mid Atlantic Title. Casey Valentine; I want you in this ring next month! You don’t even have to put that title on the line just yet. I want to prove to you and any naysayers out there that I deserve my return title shot!

The Mid Atlantic Champion’s music hits and the crowd begins to boo loudly. Casey Valentine pushes through the curtain and saunters to the ring. He grabs a microphone from ringside and climbs into the ring where he fake applauds the former champion.

Casey: Patriot, you want to challenge me after you couldn’t defeat Frankie Perez? It’s your lucky day man. I’m in a good mood tonight and feeling generous. So sure you can have me in a match next month. I’ve beaten you before I’ll beat you again. And then I’ll defeat you once more when you get your return title shot. Now get out of the ring so I can show you how a real wrestler wins matches.

Mid Atlantic Championship

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Greg%20Gauge.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Casey%20Valentine.jpg

Greg Gauge vs. Casey Valentine ©

These two young men handed off their title belts to Jay Fair and stared across the ring at one another. Gauge had a look on his face that shouted he wasn’t sure why he was there, but was sure as hell going to take the opportunity handed to him. The bell rang and Greg charged across the ring. He blindsided the champion with a running elbow strike and began to lay forearm after forearm into Valentine. The crowd cheered as Gauge never let up initially, rolling Casey up for a two count. The champion was right back to his feet where he blasted his charging opponent with a back elbow to halt his momentum. Greg held his jaw as he got to his feet and nodded. The two came together into a collar and elbow tie up that Greg came out of with a hammerlock. Casey twisted around into one of his own. Greg allowed Casey the leverage to apply pressure on the hold and then smiled, shaking his head. He knew the bait had worked, luring Valentine into a technical match that he held a clear advantage in. The two of them began to chain wrestle, using hold after hold and escape after escape for the opening ten minutes. Seeing that he was outmatched, Valentine turned to strikes. Using punches, forearms and European uppercuts, the Mid Atlantic Champion was able to get back to even and then take an advantage as they crossed over the fifteen minute mark. The match was even here as the challenger was looking for moves to weaken the back of the champion in preparation for the submission move made famous by his father. He tried three times to lock Valentine in the hold, but the champion was able to break free each time. Greg caught Valentine by surprise with a snap downward spiral and never let go, lifting the champion back up for a brainbuster that drove his head into the canvas. Greg covered and got a believable near fall at eighteen minutes. The Tag Team Champion never let up, still trying to get Valentine caught up in the Proton Lock. Finally he had gone to the well one too many times and Casey caught his with a superkick. The champion wasted no time lifting Gauge back to his feet and lifting him into a torture rack position on his shoulders. Valentine pushed Greg’s legs into the air and fell, driving his head into the canvas with his burning hammer finish called the Deep Impact. It was elemental here as Casey hooked both legs and picked up the victory to successfully defend his title.

Winner: Casey Valentine

Well, I’ll take fault for this. I knew that the Jay and Rip storyline was our biggest thing going right now, but I’m old school at heart. A promotion’s top championship is meant to be fought for in the main event and I just couldn’t bring myself to change that. I should have put my match with Jay and the subsequent angles as the main, or the semi-main event, but dropped the ball. I tried promoting the show with a different match ratio, bumping it from 80% matches to 90% matches. It was enough to really hurt the angles. We'll drop it back down to 80% for next month. In the end we still should have increased our popularity and drew our biggest crowd ever.

It was odd though as he actually asked to meet in our conference room for the first time. On my way to the building I kept trying to figure out why he wanted to meet in the twelve person room when the two of us could do things just fine in his office. I walked through the halls of our office area and up to the door of the conference room. As I stepped in, I finally understood. Along with Rip Chord were his son, Jay, and our announcer Marv Earnest. I didn’t show any confusion just yet as I approached the tab le and sat down in an empty chair. I gathered the packets from my bag and slid one across the table to Rip.

Rip: Kid, I asked Marv to join us and sort of help out with story idea. I hope you don’t mind.

I didn’t.

Aaron: Not at all. Marv is one of the best bookers there is and I think his input will be great. So are we going to a committee?

Rip shook his head.

Rip: Not at all. You still have the final say in everything that goes on the shows. Marv is simply here to offer his help.

I nodded and looked to Marv.

Marv: Thanks for your compliment Aaron, but I think you’ve sold yourself short. You aren’t too damn bad yourself.

I thanked him and then looked in Jay’s direction.

Aaron: What about Jay? Is he coming on board too?

Rip shook his head again.

Rip: No he was just in town and I invited him to sit in on our meeting. Firsthand experience is invaluable.

I nodded. I could already tell this was going to be a cluster of a meeting. I reached back into my bag and snagged the extra copies of the packet I had and slid one to both Marv and Jay. We all opened the packet to page 1 and took a look at the financial statement.

Aaron: As you can see we did manage to lose about $700 for the month. I know what you want Rip. We’ll nix the second show. But I have a proposition for you. Promoting last month’s show a bit harder was beneficial; we drew over 800 fans. I say we keep doing that and increase show time by a half hour. It’ll give us time to showcase the guys lower on the card and the extra gate will cover the wages.

Rip stayed silent a minute before slowly nodding his head.

Rip: We’ll give it a shot kid. Same deal as last month though. If it costs us money, its done.

I nodded in agreement and flipped to the second page; state of the industry and economy. The other three followed suit and we continued.

Aaron: Both the economy and the industry have lost strength from last month. Experts in both areas are saying they’re still on the decline too.

Nothing more was said and we all turned to page three; creative ideas. There wasn’t much more to go over here, but the planned matches for Where It All Begins Again were listed. I thought we’d move on, but Jay piped up suddenly.

Jay: Why is the last match happening? Aren’t they partners?

I sighed and nodded. It began.

Aaron: Things change. Your father trusted me on this.

Jay couldn’t leave well enough alone.

Jay: But tag team wrestling is a classic part of the business. What’s the reason they’re fighting over?

I cleared my throat and looked across the table.

Aaron: One is jealous of the other’s success. It’s a classic formula.

Jay: Yes, but—

I had had enough already. I interrupted him.

Aaron: You know Jay, most of the time people who are invited to sit in on these things keep quiet.

Rip looked at me funny and Marv laughed. I guess they never thought of me as the kind of guy to snap. Jay held his hands up and shut the packet he held before sliding it back across the table.

Jay: Just trying to help. I’ll get out of your hair. This crap is boring anyway.

He stood and walked to the door. Rip or Marv didn’t say anything at all. I guess they could tell I was a little upset with him because of the chair shot from a few nights previous. Jay hadn’t given me near enough time to protect myself. I didn’t have to blade that night; I was busted open the hard way. I’m not a guy to hold grudges, but I had to think it was on purpose after the comment he had made to me in my office that night. We continued on through the packet and reached the section covering the industry notes. Here’s what I had included.

Industry Notes from March 2011

News

- MOSC was forced to close their doors, blaming mounting financial problems.

- A young man named Reggie Bishop entered the business. He is a throwback wrestler as some of his most exciting moves wouldn’t have even been new back in the 80s. He is safe and reliable, so he’ll probably never make it big, but won’t have trouble finding work.

- Just a month after turning us down and signing a contract with NOTBPW, Joey Poison suffered a torn Rotator Cuff in a losing effort to the Can-Am Blondes during the Ed Henson Memorial Cup. He’s looking at about 12 months out of action.

- NOTBPW signed a contract with Euro Your Demand to broadcast their PPVs across the pond.

Contracts

- Frankie Perez and KC Glenn accepted offers to tour with WLW.

- Handsome Stranger and Rhino Umaga singed PPA deals with NYCW.

- SWF called Cameron Vessey up to their main roster. I hope he does well.

- CZCW signed American Elemental to a PPA deal. It’ll be interesting to see how he does there.

- Whippy the Clown signed with 4C.

- Eddie Chandler signed a deal with NOTBPW.

- Ash Campbell signed with CGC.

- Our own Kirk Jameson signed on with RIPW on a PPA deal.

Title Changes

- Shane Nelson defeated Trent Shaffer to become the CGC Canadian Champion.

- Shawn Gonzalez defeated Puerto Rican Power to capture the FCW Puerto Rican Title.

- RK Hayes and Sean Deleey won the 2011 Ed Henson Memorial Cup in NOTBPW, defeating The Stone Siblings of Jeremy and Dan Jr.

Sorry for the prolonged wait guys. My self diagnosed ADD and **** Zombies kept making me put this off. Anyhoo, here it is. And as the standard anymore:

Thoughts/comments:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I knew I had been spoiled for too long. We hadn’t had any incidents in the locker room for a while and I should have been expecting this after the comments I made to Jay at the creative meeting earlier in the month. I was sitting in my office, Clare already gone for girl talk with Lisa Bowen, when Frankie Perez knocked on the door and said I needed to address something in the locker room. I stood and walked down the hall, getting the scoop from my best friend. As I walked into the locker room I saw just about everybody holding packets of paper and murmuring amongst themselves. Frankie handed me one and I immediately recognized it as the note packet that I handed out at our monthly meetings. There was something different though; the financial statement had been majorly changed to show us almost $100,000 in debt. Before I could talk, Casey Valentine piped up.

Casey: Aaron, what the hell? Why are we losing so much money?

The questions didn’t stop coming.

Patriot: Are we shutting down?

Gauge: Yeah man, if so I’ll make some calls.

Kirk Jameson: And why are you booking yourself to destroy all of us?

I flipped to the creative plans section. There was a two page report of how “I” planned to book myself to roll through every member of the roster with two minute squashes, including winning the Mid Atlantic Title at WIABA with the finger poke of doom. I scoffed and scanned the room, spotting Jay sitting in the corner texting on his phone.

Aaron: Everybody can come up here and throw these packets in the trash, because that’s what they are; garbage. We are not in debt by any means; in fact I’ve increased our bank account since I’ve gotten here. The creative plans are junk too. You guys know me better than that. When we’ve got guys as talented as you on the roster, I don’t need to be on top, especially in that matter. If that actually happened, nobody in this locker room would work for a promotion that could draw more than 15 fans ever again. Would I really harm thirty people’s careers like that?

Everyone murmured and slowly started to toss the packets aside. Frankie had already told me that he had gotten to the arena early and saw Jay setting the packets out on a card table in the center of the locker room.

Aaron: Jay, there’s no point in denying this. I’ve got somebody who saw you putting all this crap out here. What in the hell are you doing?

Jay barely even looked up from his phone as he answered.

Jay: Just trying to have a little fun is all.

I shook my head and ordered him to put his phone down.

Aaron: As your boss, I’m telling you to forget about the phone and look at me. Haven’t you realized that the stuff you find “fun” just gets everyone else worked up? This is completely unacceptable! We had a good thing going backstage and it looks like its ruined just like that. You had better straighten up your act Jay.

Jay: Fine. It was just a stupid little prank though. I’m not sure why everyone is so upset.

I just scoffed and looked away from him to address the rest of the locker room.

Aaron: We are in no danger of shutting down at all guys. We’re gaining fans and money every month. It’s all because of the hard work you do in the ring. You have my word that if things ever get desperate, you’ll hear it straight from me. Now let’s try and forget about this fiasco and do what we do best; put on a hell of a show for the MAW fans.

I turned and walked back to my office, hoping my short pep talk would raise spirits. We had a show to do and the doors opened in a little under an hour.

Aaron Fujita vs. Jefferson Stardust w/ Lisa Bowen

The crowd was up for our first match and the action didn’t let them down. Fujita took early control using his technical prowess to control his opponent. Aaron transitioned from hold to hold very smoothly and kept this mindset for the first five minutes, trying to wear Stardust down. Lisa Bowen shouted encouragement from ringside. As they entered the seventh minute, Jefferson rebounded off the ropes and landed back elbow to halt Fujita’s momentum. Stardust, still in a daze from the punishment he had received tried to take advantage of the opportunity, but his suplex attempt was blocked. Aaron took Stardust over with a snap suplex of his own and got a two count before Jefferson kicked out. Aaron tried to set Stardust up for a powerbomb, but the rockstar wiggled free and went on the offensive. A landed a quick flurry of offense including a couple of forearms followed up with a running hurrincanrana off the ropes. The rana was enough to get a near fall, but Fujita kicked out before three. Stardust climbed to the top as Fujita got to his feet, leaping onto his shoulders for another hurrincanrana. Fujita caught him though and rushed forward, tossing him into the corner with a turnbuckle powerbomb. Jefferson staggered out of the corner right back into the clutches of Aaron Fujita. Fujita grabbed a front chancery and hoisted Stardust into the air before planting him with a brainbuster before collapsing to the mat. With both men down Jay Fair started his standing ten count. Both men got to their feet at seven. Stardust fired a clothesline that Fujita ducked. As Stardust turned around he was caught by a step-up enziguri from his opponent, spinning him around. Aaron snatched Jefferson up and lifted him into the air for the QG-Theory, but Stardust slid down Fujita’s back and rolled him up, placing all his body weight on the cover. Jay Fair slid into position and made his three count giving the surprise victory to Jefferson Stardust in just under twelve minutes.

KC Glenn vs. Ricky Douglas w/ Ernest Forthdyke-Hume

Ricky Douglas knew his best chance against his talented counterpart was to come out of the gate with a flurry of offense. That’s exactly what he did. As the bell rang he charged Glenn and went off with a flurry of forearms and elbows. The surprise attack was good enough to net him a two count just a minute into the match and give him control for the moment. Douglas continued his attack with as many strikes as he could, but eventually the higher skill of KC Glenn took over. Glenn took control of the match and planted Douglas with a release suplex into a powerbomb. Glenn went to the top rope and came down with a 450 splash that was enough to pick up the victory in six minutes.

Winner: KC Glenn

The crowd gave an average reaction and didn’t get much in return for their efforts. Huey Cannonball took early control with a flurry of hurrincanranas and head scissors takeovers. Soon enough though Nelson Callum’s technical skill shown through and he took control He eventually locked Cannonball into an STF with a cravat that he calls the Honey Trap to force a submission at just under seven minutes.

Nothing spectacular here as these two men fought it out in an even match up. Rob Reynolds relied heavily on kicks, but that led to his demise. He attempted a kick and got caught, being tied up into a pinning predicament that gave Riley McManus the victory in four and a half minutes.

In a scene taped earlier in the day, Greg Gauge and Kirk Jameson are walking down a hall of the MAW Arena. Kirk is in a good mood, greeting everyone they come up to while Greg is hanging his head and looking at the floor. Finally Kirk speaks up.

Kirk: What’s up with you today man? You’re normally hyped up when it’s the day of a show.

Greg: We’ve beaten every team MAW has to offer. We are the Tag Team Champions.

Kirk: Of course. You know that.

Greg: It was only a matter of time before we had to start exploring our singles careers again. I guess I’m a little bit jealous of what you’re getting to do.

Kirk: What do you mean, man? You’ve done pretty well for yourself. You had a Mid Atlantic Title shot last month!

Greg nods and shrugs his shoulders. Greg: But tonight you get the winner of the 2011 Rip Chord Invitational and I get the pirate. I’m not sure what I’m trying to say. Forget about it. Good luck tonight.

Kirk: Same to you man. Same to you.

The two men part ways with Kirk Jameson left pondering his partner’s mindset.

Ace Youngblood vs. Barry Kingman ©

The crowd was still quiet for the most part, but the match had decent action. The Traditional Champion took control in the opening minutes of the match, using his well rounded abilities and proving why he is the Traditional Champion. Barry turned to mat wrestling and was surprised to find Ace Youngblood hanging with him. Barry was not happy with this and began to pick up the pace and increase the intensity, turning to strikes. Ace wasn’t nearly as capable here and it led to his demise. Barry set him up and ran across the ring, planting him with the running sit-out powerbomb he called the Black Out to pick up the victory in just under six minutes.

Greg Gauge vs. Hugh de Aske

The crowd was hot for this bout as the son of a legend and a pirate squared off. Greg predictably took the match to the ground, using his superior technical skills to keep the pirate grounded. Hugh wasn’t completely out-classed though as he was able to reverse some holds and apply some innovated submissions of his own. This exchange of mat wrestling took up the opening five minutes before Hugh had finally had enough and attempted to take the match to the air where he had a clear advantage. He used his above average brawling abilities to rock the young Gauge with forearms and lariats and followed them up with numerous moves from the top rope. It spelled trouble for Hugh here as he attempted a frog splash but caught Greg’s knees as they crossed the nine minute mark. Greg went back on the offensive, using his own striking ability to wear Hugh down even more. He worked over Hugh’s back with clubbing blows and forearms and European Uppercuts to the back to weaken the pirate for the Proton Lock. Gauge attempted to lock the submission hold in but Hugh wiggled free. Greg backed Hugh into the corner with a few chops and landed a running forearm before grabbing his wrist and sending him across the ring. Hugh reversed the whip attempt, sending Greg into the corner where He lifted himself up into the air. Hugh had charged in and stopped short, catching Greg on his shoulders in a torture rack position. Hugh wrapped Gauge’s own arm around his throat and then pushed him off, driving his head to the mat with the Cut-Throat Driver that got him the pinfall victory in just under twelve minutes.

Citizen X vs. Jay Chord w/ Clare South

Jay Chord came to the ring with his eyes locked on his father. Jay took control of the match at the beginning and really never looked back. He worked on clinically dismantling Citizen X as the bout wore on. X showed signs of life every few minutes, trying to fight off the inevitable, but as they crossed the thirteen minute mark Jay landed the Cradle Piledriver and picked up the victory.

After the match reached its conclusion, Jay Fair raised Jay Chords hand as Clare South grabbed a microphone from ringside and handed it to Chord. Jay soaked in the boos before lifting the microphone to his lips and speaking.

Jay: Another one bites the dust. Did you see how I dominated him tonight? It’s because I’m the best MAW has to offer. So I look to you, Rip Chord. Get in this ring and tell the world that I am better than you in every way.

Jay looks to Rip’s position at the announce table. Rip sighs and slowly stands from his chair. He makes his way to the ring steps and into the ring. He has a microphone if his own in his hands as he approaches his son and speaks. Rip: Jay this is getting ridiculous. Would you please vacate the ring? We’ve still got two big matches.

Jay smiles before looking back to Citizen X who is about to crawl out of the ring. Jay drops the microphone and walks over to his former opponent, lifting him to his feet. Jay grabs a front chancery and points to his father before driving Citizen X’s head into the mat with a Rip Chord DDT. Jay stands and smiles at his father once more before leaving the ring and heading to the back. Rip is left in the ring, thinking about what is going on his son’s head.

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Frankie%20Perez.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Kirk%20Jameson.jpg

Frankie Perez vs. Kirk Jameson

The crowd was into this match as Kirk Jameson got the biggest match of his short MAW career against the 2011 Rip Chord Invitational winner. The two men locked up in the center of the ring and it was Frankie Perez spinning around into the hammerlock with the advantage. Kirk was quick spin under and around, reversing the hold on Perez. Frankie slapped his shoulder and then quickly spun around to reverse the hold, but let go and grabbed a side headlock instead. Frankie applies pressure for a moment before Kirk shoves him into the ropes and shoots him off. Frankie comes back and attempt a shoulder tackle, but the bigger size of Kirk allows him to remain on his feet. Frankie hits the ropes again, but once more Jameson doesn’t budge. Frankie hits the ropes again, but this time he leaps into the air and snaps Kirk over with a hurrincanrana. From that point forward both men battled it out for the rest of the opening ten minutes. The action was back and forth with Frankie Perez holding the slightest of advantages. It was here that Frankie went for kick to the back of the head, but Jameson ducked. Frankie’s face connected with the mat, dazing him and allowing Jameson to lift him up and grab a front chancery. Kirk lifted Frankie into the air and dropped him down onto the knees with a suplex into a gutbuster that netted him a two count. Kirk got right back up and sent Perez into the corner with a whip. Frankie stumbled out of the corner, allowing a charging Kirk Jameson to grab his head and use the ropes to spin Frankie into a tornado DDT. Kirk covered and got a believable near fall before Frankie got the shoulder up. Kirk controlled the majority of the next three minutes. Kirk went for a powerbomb, but Frankie slipped out and landed in front of his opponent. With lightning speed he stepped up and brought an enziguri across the back of Kirk’s head. Kirk went to a knee, but not all the way down allowing Frankie to hit the ropes and come back with a dropkick to the face. He covered and got a believable near fall before Kirk rolled the shoulder. Frankie got back to his feet and waited for Kirk to do the same. Once there, Kirk turned around into a boot to the gut from his opponent. Perez grabbed a front face lock and cradled one of Jameson’s legs, looking for a brainbuster, but Kirk fought out of it and landed a forearm. Frankie answered back with one of his own only to be met with another from Kirk. The two traded blows until Kirk hit three in succession and then spun around looking for a roaring lariat. Frankie ducked and met Jameson with another boot to the stomach. Frankie quickly grabbed another front face lock and dropped Kirk on his head with the Perfect Parity, holding on for the cover. As Jay Fair’s hand came down for the third time, Kirk rolled his shoulder, kicking out of the pin for a believable near fall. Frankie wasted no time turning Kirk to his stomach and ducking under the arm. He wrapped a cravat over the head of his opponent and wrenched back. With the P-Clutch locked in, Kirk had no choice but to tap out, giving Frankie the submission victory in sixteen and a half minutes.

After the match was completed Frankie helped Kirk Jameson to his feet and extended his hand. Kirk accepted it and the two hugged. Kirk raised Frankie’s hand and then made a quick and quiet exit. Frankie wasn’t done though. He asked for a microphone from ringside and received it. He held his head and spoke through labored breathing.

Perez: I’m going to make this very short and simple because I need to sit down after how hard Kirk just took it to me. Casey Valentine, I want you in this ring next month. Just like Patriot tonight, you don’t even have to put your title on the line. I just want to prove to you and everyone here that I deserved to win the 2011 RCI and that I deserve my shot at the Mid Atlantic Championship.

The Mid Atlantic Champion’s music plays and the crowd breaks into a chorus of boos. Casey Valentine pushes through the curtain with the title draped over his shoulder and a microphone in hand. He saunters to the ring and climbs in, soaking in the hate from the crowd. He stands across the ring from Perez as his music fades out.

Casey: What is it with you people? Last month Patriot challenges me to a non-title match and now you too? You know what sets me apart from the two of you? Greed. I’m as greedy as they come and driven to boot. You guys aren’t anywhere near greedy enough to make it in this business. If you want to take a step back from your RCI win and lose to me next month, causing all of these fans to lose faith in you when the title shot rolls around then be my guest. You want me next month, you got me.

Frankie nods and pushes past the Mid Atlantic Champion as he jumps from the ring and retreats to the back.

American Patriot vs. Casey Valentine

The crowd was still hot as the main event rolled around. Picking up right where they left off in January, Casey and Patriot didn’t waste any time allowing the match to go to strikes. Valentine relied heavily on chops and kicks while Patriot went to forearms and right hands. The two men traded blows for the opening five minutes before Casey decided to take Patriot to the mat. It was here that the champion really started to shine and show a true edge on American Patriot. Valentine tried to tie the masked man up in as many different holds as possible in an attempt to wear him down. Staying on the mat as the match progressed from five to ten minutes deep, the Mid Atlantic Champion remained in control. Once over the ten minute mark though, Patriot knew he had to get things going and began to blast Valentine with forearm shots once again. It was here he saw his opening and sent the champ into the ropes. As Valentine returned, Patriot wrapped his arms around the neck and swung Casey around, planting him with a huge swinging slam that garnered a near fall. Gaining the opportunity he was seeking, Patriot slowly began to get his second wind and take control of the match. Patriot lifted Valentine to his feet and hooked him up, dumping over with an exploder suplex. Patriot went back to the lateral press, seemingly using the cover as another way to wear his opponent down. Casey kicked at two, but Patriot wasn’t done. He got to his feet and measured the champion up before coming forward and dropping a huge knee to the top of the head. Patriot lifted Valentine to his feet and sent him into the ropes. When he rebounded, Patriot spun him around looking for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, but the champion spun out of it and latched onto Patriot’s arm with a crowbar. Patriot winced in pain for a few minutes, struggling to get to the ropes. Finally he rolled through, relieving the pressure on the arm, but Casey was prepared. Valentine repositioned himself and locked in a cross arm breaker right in the center of the ring. Patriot desperately tried to lock his hands together to keep Casey from getting the full effect on the hold. As hard as he struggled, Casey wrenched back and got the arm fully extended. Patriot was showing agonizing pain on his face for nearly thirty seconds, but held on long enough to inch to the ropes and grab a hold, causing a break. Valentine let go immediately, but went right back on the offensive as they crossed the eighteen minute mark. He lifted Patriot to his feet and hooked both of his arms, dropping him on his head with a butterfly piledriver. The champion scrambled over to cover as Jay Fair got into position.

ONE! TWO! THR-----RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Patriot lifted his shoulder at the last second. Valentine was livid as he got to his feet and hoisted Patriot up as well. He spun the masked man around and grabbed a full nelson before lifting with all of his strength and dumping him on his head with a sickening suplex. Patriot rolled right to his feet and charged forward as Casey got up, nearly decapitating him with a lariat. Both men went down as the fans began chanting Patriot’s name and Jay Fair started his standing ten count. At five both men remained on the canvas. As Jay raised his arms for the seventh time Casey began to stir. At nine Casey was up and Patriot clenched the ropes to hold himself in a vertical stance. They both staggered to the center of the ring and began trading forearms. Patriot got the advantage with two consecutive shots before hitting the ropes in search of a huge lariat. He fired the attempt, but Valentine ducked it and hooked the arm, lifting him to a torture rack position on his shoulders. Just as Casey positioned himself in the ring, something stopped him.

DING DING DING

The bell rang at the twenty minute mark, indicating the time limit draw. Casey looked peeved and pushed Patriot’s legs into the air, driving his head into the mat with his Deep Impact finisher. Casey got to his feet as the crowd booed loudly. He received his belt and stood over the fallen American Patriot as the show came to a close.

I was happy to hear Jay wouldn’t be attending our creative meeting this month. I walked through the front doors of our building and made my way down to separate corridors that led to our conference room. Rip and Marv we’re already there as I had expected. These guys were early birds and I wasn’t. Despite being the last one there, I was still ten minutes early for the scheduled meeting time of noon. They both greeted me as I walked in the door and caught the sweet smell of pizza. Rip had sprung for lunch and had two large pizzas sitting at the center of the table. I snatched up a few slices and then took my seat before rummaging through my bag and retrieving this month’s note packet.

Aaron: I think you’re going to be quite happy with that first page Rip.

I took a big bite from my first slice of pizza as we all flipped past the title page and viewed the financial statement. Even increasing our run time by a half an hour and using more talent, we managed to bring in a $6,000 profit for the month. I knew Rip would be pleased; hell even I was a bit excited and it wasn’t even my money.

Rip: You’re right kid. I love seeing black numbers on that page.

We all laughed and flipped to page number 2; state of the economy and wrestling business. Unfortunately they had both lost strength again over the course of April and still seemed to be declining. Marv was the first to comment.

Marv: With the economy at 68% strength we should still be able to get some bigger names on reasonable deals. The only problem is the industry is at 17% strength. Interest is plummeting.

I nodded as I took a bite and chewed.

Aaron: Which is why I can’t figure out how he got our first sell out at Americana. Oh well, I’m not complaining. But it’s funny that you mention getting bigger names at reasonable prices. Guess who I had a conversation with two weeks ago.

Marv and Rip both tossed around names such as Donnie J and Sam Pratt. I shook my head and smiled.

Aaron: Aaron Andrews. His deal with TCW came up and he actually returned my phone call.

Marv started raving about what we could do with the kid but he didn’t have to. I knew what I could do with him.

Rip: I can’t even imagine it was worth your time. He was coming off of an exclusive contract with TCW; he was expecting big money wasn’t he?

I shook my head once more.

Aaron: I had him talked down to a 16 month deal worth $1500 an appearance. We hashed out a $1000 downside, but that didn’t really matter since he’d be on all of our shows. He wanted a cut of merchandise which was no big deal and a midcard title run.

Marv: So what stopped you?

Aaron: TCW was offering him another deal and he just liked the idea of guaranteed pay with a written contract. I mean can you blame the guy? He’d have only made fifteen grand working here for a year and his new deal is worth something in the six figures.

Even Rip seemed a bit disappointed when he heard Andrews had re-signed. We continued the meeting by flipping to our creative plans which was headlined by the discussion for Fan Festival coming up in a couple of months.

Marv: Are we going to let the fans vote again? I think it worked out well last year.

I nodded.

Aaron: I’m taking it a step further. When I get home this afternoon I’m going to jump on the message boards and announce a contest. The winner at the end of the month will get to book the main event of the show.

Rip was a little taken back by my idea.

Rip: Kid, you really think that’s a good idea?

Aaron: Have you read some of the stuff on the message boards? They’re all smarks. I promise you the winner is going to use his head when he chooses the main event.

Rip put his trust in me once more. I must have been really growing on the old man. We ran through the rest of the packet, but before I took off to allow them to look over the industry notes, I decided it was time to make my announcement.

Aaron: I’ve got another thing too. I did it last night. I popped the question to Clare.

Marv laughed a bit and congratulated me. Rip was a bit more excited. He got up and immediately pulled me up into a hug. After a moment he pulled back and looked at me.

Rip: She said yes, didn’t she?

Marv and I laughed loudly.

Aaron: Yes she did Rip. She even did the whole “he went to Jared” thing too.

The three of us laughed a bit more and they congratulated me again before I gathered my things and went to meet up with Clare so we could make the drive down to Alabama and tell her parents. Rip and Marv were left to go over the industry notes. Here’s what I presented to them.

Industry Notes for April 2011

News

- UEW in Europe rose to Regional size. Good to see the UK product still strengthening.

- Robbie Wright graduated from the Mid Atlantic Boot Camp. I decided to take a pass on him, despite his natural charisma. He wasn’t a bad worker, just bland. I hope he does well and there will be some contract news on him later.

- Captain USA decided to hang his boots up at the age of 52. The patriotic worker was able to attain some modest success along the way by capturing the many tiles. Most notably the SWF North American, TWL Championship twice and the USPW World Title twice.

- Leper Messiah must have a wish to commit career suicide as he made some very harsh remarks against FCW Head Booker Shawn Gonzalez during an online interview.

- NOTBPW expanded their Pay Per View coverage again by inking a deal with U-Demand.

- While not shocking to most of the wrestling business, Big Smack Scott was recently caught with steroids. The report is that he was stopped for speeding on his way back to the hotel from a Supreme TV and after the car was searched found to be in possession of the illegal substance. Word is SWF probably won’t punish him at all, but their image has been damaged.

Contracts

- The biggest news for MAW this month was the departure of El Heroe Mexicano as he signed a developmental deal with SWF. The kid has got natural ability up the wazoo and I hope he is allowed to develop properly in RIPW and utilized to his potential if he ever gets to the main roster.

- Mario da Silva signed up with CGC on a PPA deal.

- Zeus MaxMillion signed a PPA deal with 4C.

- Trent Shaffer signed an exclusive contract extension with CGC, forcing him to depart CZCW and NYCW.

Title Changes

- Whippy the Clown captured the vacant NYCW Tri-State Regional Title by defeating Dazzling Dave Diamond.

- Valiant began his second reign as SWF North American Champion by defeating Joe Sexy.

- Belle Bryden captured the USPW Women’s Title from Raven Robinson. This marks her third reign with the belt.

Ha ha. I find myself constantly on the fence with Stardust. His gimmick of a rockstar is over like Grover (the fuzzy guy not Ashley.) His skills have developed in the year and a half game time so I've got faith in him. I just find myself going either way with him.

Show will be up either late tonight or tomorrow sometime. I spent the evening attending my niece's 5th grade chorus and band Christmas Concert. I'm getting things situated as I write. It's just a matter of whether or not I get tired before the show is written to my liking. So, LAST CALL FOR PREDICTIONS!

Okay first off an apology. I am like 18 hours past what I promised for the show. I got really busy serving my community with the fire department. We ran a few calls yesterday which cut down on my free time before work. Today I spent most of watching a winter storm imposing on my area. I'm a meteorologist and was deeply invested in watching the storm progress. That combined with season 5 of Bones on netlfix made me lose focus. But without further ado here is MAW's latest show; Old School Rules.

show a couple more times before Clare came in for what she described as the “fun part of the night.” We began to go through catalogs to pick out just about everything that is related to a wedding. We hadn’t even set a date yet but she was furiously jumping from topic to topic. One second we were discussing colors and the next we had gone to what type of dance floor we’d have at the reception. My head was in a daze by the time Rip ducked his head in to say hello. He laughed at the looks I gave him and asked if we had told everyone yet. We hadn’t but were planning on doing so before tonight’s show started. I checked my watch and saw it was just before 6 and time to head into the locker room. I made a joke to Clare about the amount of fun I was having and told her it was time. We walked down the hall, hand in hand, until we got to the dressing room. We both sighed and pushed the doors open. The room was loud with what seemed like twenty different conversations. I cleared my throat but got no response. Suddenly Clare brought her fingers to her mouth and let out a loud “call to attention” whistle that got the room quiet. I looked to her and laughed as she smiled at me.

Aaron: Guys—

Lisa Bowen cleared her throat from a few feet away and smiled.

Aaron: Sorry. Ladies and gentlemen; and Casey Valentine. Clare and I have an announcement to make. I know that having the guy in control of the show dating one of the talents can be an awkward situation. So I wanted to be up front with you guys and let you know that as of earlier this month we are engaged.

I waited for their reaction and was overwhelmed by what I got. Frankie Perez was the first to come up and shake my hand and hug Clare. Soon enough most of the locker room had made their rounds, except for Jay Chord. He remained in his seat reading one of the dirt sheets that circulates around the internet. It didn’t surprise me at all.

American Patriot vs. Jefferson Stardust w/ Lisa Bowen

These two guys put on a good match for a crowd that was lively to open the show. Patriot took early control with his strikes. He controlled the first five minutes, trying to wear Stardust down. As they progressed, Jefferson used encouragement from Lisa Bowen at ringside to make a comeback, landing a hurrincanrana out of nowhere for a two count. Jefferson began to use his superior speed and flying ability to run circles around American Patriot. His advantage lasted for nearly five minutes before he leapt into the air for another hurrincanrana and American Patriot caught him before slamming him to the mat with a powerbomb. Both men were down, initiating Jay Fair’s ten count. Both men got to their feet at the count of seven and came together in the center of the ring. After exchanging strikes, Jefferson fired a clothesline, but Patriot ducked and raised a boot to the mid-section. With Jefferson hunched over, Patriot set him up and drove his head to the mat with the Inverted Piledriver to get the victory in just over twelve minutes.

Winner: American Patriot

KC Glenn vs. Nelson Callum

The crowd wasn’t sure how to react here, but the match was good. These two young guys put on a mat wrestling clinic from start to end. There was never a clear advantage for either man as they went hold for hold. As they crossed into the sixth minute the two were on their feet. Glenn hooked Callum and planted him with a release belly to belly suplex and headed up top. Glenn came down with a 450 Splash and picked up the victory in a little over six and a half minutes.

Winner: KC Glenn

Rip Chord enters the ring with a microphone in hand. The crowd cheers his presence and he allows them to quiet down before speaking.

Rip: Ladies and gentlemen I hope you are having a good time here tonight! Now, as many of you know we held a contest on our forums this past month. We put fans through rigorous trivia rounds with the opportunity to choose the main event of Fan Festival on the line. I’d like to announce the winner and his choice that will be taking place next month. He posts on the forum under the name Emark and answered a whopping 52 questions correctly. Next month, as chosen by him, you will see Aaron Fujita, Frankie Perez, American Patriot and Casey Valentine square off in a cage match!

Mid Atlantic Traditional Championship

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/American%20Elemental_alt.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Barry%20Kingman.jpg

American Elemental vs. Barry Kingman ©

The crowd reacted okay for this match as the wrestlers put on a good match. The debuting American Elemental came out of the gate using his speed advantage to get the early edge. The crowd was solidly behind him as he literally ran circles around the Traditional Champion. AE spent the majority of the firsr three minutes taking Barry Kingman over with hip tosses, arm drags and hurrincanranas. He topped it all off by landing in an electric chair position on Kingman’s shoulders and snapping him over with a reverse rana that dumped him on his head. American Elemental got a believable near fall before going back to work on the champion. He went for another arm drag, but Kingman stopped short and the luchadore fell to the mat. This opened the door for Kingman to begin to overpower AE. Barry began working over his opponent’s back as they crossed into the fifth minute. Kingman remained focused, centering his gameplan around weakening the back of American Elemental. AE struggled to find the success he had in the opening minutes of the match but soon found himself locked into a modified Texas Cloverleaf in the center of the ring. He struggled to get to the ropes and finally did after nearly thirty seconds caught in the hold. Kingman released the submission but immediately lifted Elemental to his feet and set him up in a powerbomb position. Kingman had AE up, ran across the ring and planted him with the running sit-out powerbomb he called the Black Out for the pinfall in just over seven and a half minutes.

Winner: Barry Kingman

Rating: C (61)

After the match, American Elemental asks for a microphone and receives it. He stands in the center of the ring and speaks.

Elemental: Tonight Barry Kingman was the better man. Though I am only here temporarily, I will seek retribution and the chance to prove that I am better than he. In time I will show the fans of MAW that I deserve to represent MAW across the country by capturing the Traditional Championship.

Kirk Jameson vs. Jackpot Jordan

The crowd had a warm reaction for Kirk Jameson, but weren’t really up for this match which turned out to be decent. The match opened up with a solid display of chain wrestling. Three separate times the two men went move for move and came up at a stalemate. The match went to the mat and it looked as though Kirk was surprised by JJ’s ability to go hold for hold. Using a smart game plan, Kirk brought the match off of the mat to protect himself in case he got caught in a submission hold that would force him to tap out. Just as they crossed the seven minute mark Jackpot Jordan sent Kirk into the corner with a whip and backed to the opposite corner to gain some momentum. Just as Jackpot reached mid-ring, Kirk exploded from the corner and caught him with the superkick he named The Bullseye, jarring the head and neck. JJ went to the mat and Kirk covered, getting the victory.

Winner: Kirk Jameson

Special Challenge – MAW vs. CZCW

http://www.clabobby.com/maw/Jack%20Avatar.jpghttp://www.clabobby.com/maw/Snap%20Dragon.jpg

Aaron Fujita vs. Snap Dragon

The crowd rose to the occasion here as these two men put on a decent match. They started off with a collar and elbow tie up that Fujita came out of with the advantage. The feeling out process lasted almost a full ten minutes. Each man would attempt to step out in front, but their opponents were able to fight back. Snap Dragon became especially annoyed when Fujita was able to have an answer for every bit of offense that the masked CZCW wrestler dished out. Snap Dragon had finally had enough and went beyond the rules with a rake of the eyes. Jay Fair laid a warning on him, but the damage had been done. Snap Dragon took control of the match and began dismantling Fujita as he went. Aaron made a few miniscule surges in offense, but was never able to get the match back to even. They crossed into the eighteenth minute and Drag landed a series of suplexes on Fujita that got him a very believable nearfall. After Aaron kicked out, the CZCW star lifted him to his feet and tried to send him into the corner with a whip, but Aaron reversed at the last second. Snap Dragon crashed chest first inot the turnbuckle and stumbled out of the corner into Aaron’s grasps. Fujita planted his head to the canvas with his QG-Theoery piledriver and picked up the victory just before the twenty minute mark.

The crowd erupts in boos as Jay Chord’s music plays over the system. After a few moments he pushes through the curtain and throws his arms in the air. He smiles at the hatred pointed in his direction and jaw-jacks with a few fans as he and Clare South make their way to the ring. Clare retrieves a microphone and climbs into the ring to meet Jay, where she passes the speaking device off.

Jay: I love it! Can you feel the love tonight? Screw each and every one of you fans. I am here for one reason; Rip Chord. I’m going to give you the option tonight father. Get in this ring and proclaim to the world that I am a better man than you and I will retreat to the back a happy man. You do that and Greg Gauge will not have to endure the pain and torture that I intend on bestowing upon him.

Jay looks to his dad and invites him into the ring, but Rip doesn’t move.

Greg Gauge vs. Jay Chord w/ Clare South

The crowd was still up for this one as Greg and Jay put on a helluva show. Greg used his submissions to ground Jay in the opening minutes. This succeeded in angering Jay and set everything in motion for his meanstreak. As they crossed into the tenth minute the technical wrestling was slowly toned down and the strikes began to elevate. As the match became more and more physical it became a more even contest. Jay was able to gain a small advantage with a running lariat that garnered a two count from Jay Fair. Jay immediately lifted Greg back up and continued his assault. Jay held control as they crossed into the twentieth minute. Jay fired a clothesline, but Greg ducked and hit the ropes. He came back and ducked another, hooking Jay’s arms. He took Jay over with a backslide and got a two count before both men got back to their feet. Jay fired a right hand but Greg blocked it and lifted a boot into Jay’s gut. Gauge grabbed a front facelock and lifted Jay into the air, dropping him on his head with a brainbuster. Greg scrambled over and covered, getting a believable near fall. Greg wasted no time, lifting Jay up and planting a stiff forearm to the jaw. Jay staggered a bit and when he came back forward Greg lifted him and turned him upside down in a tombstone piledriver position. Jay began to wiggle his legs, causing Greg to bend backwards. Jay’s feet hit the ground and he lifted Greg up into the same position. He quickly lifted both of his own arms up and cradled one of Greg’s legs, dropping to his knees and drilling Gauge with a Cradle Tombstone. Jay Fair slid in and counted the three, giving the victory to Jay Chord.

Jay Fair raised Jay Chord’s hand and presented him as the winner. As the MAW Official hopped out of the ring to grab a drink of water between matches, Jay Chord began to stalk his opponent. The crowd booed loudly and even yelled to warn Greg Gauge of the impending attack. Jay moved lightly behind Gauge as he pulled himself to a standing position. Just as Jay lunged a hand appeared on his shoulder to stop him. The crowd cheered loudly as Jay turned to lock eyes with his father, Rip Chord. Greg turned around and spotted the two locked in a stare and took the time to spill to the outside and retreat up the ramp. Rip held a microphone in his hand and raised it to his mouth.

Rip: This has gone far enough. As long as you are in MY ring you will not continue to conduct yourself like this. You’ve come out here month after month and demanded I tell the world that you are a better man than me; that you are a better wrestler than I was. By doing these things you are proving just the opposite. YOU are the coward, Jay. You attack people from behind and cheat to win. Sure I lived those days. Do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistakes I did; don’t live the same life. Stop while you can and save face.

Jay lowers his head and shoulders and takes a step back. Suddenly he lunges forward, firing a right hand. Rip, though old, shows he hasn’t lost much by blocking the blow and firing one of his own. Rip catches Jay right on the chin, sending Jay to the mat. The crowd’s cheers are deafening as Rip lifts the microphone back up.

Rip: Get out of my ring.

The cheers continued as Rip simply straightened his tie and exited the ring, returning to the announce table.

Frankie Perez vs. Casey Valentine

The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the opening bell for the main event rang. They quickly became loud and the match didn’t disappoint them. They came together in a collar and elbow tie up after circling each other. Casey came out of the tie-up with a wristlock, applying pressure for a few seconds before Frankie spun under the hold and reversed the hold on Valentine. Frankie cranked over on the wrist of the champion for a few moments, but Casey was able to place his boot in the back of Frankie’s knee. Valentine applied force and pushed Perez to a kneeling position, relieving pressure on the hold and allowing him to grab a hammerlock. The two men continued this chain wrestling clinic for the opening ten minutes. As they entered into that tenth minute, Casey held Frankie in a wristlock. He applied pressure, twisting the wrist to angles it should never be. Frankie somersaulted forward, got back to his feet, cartwheeled back the other way and spund under the hold to reverse the hold. Now holding the wristlock on Valentine he quickly slapped the hold away and leapt into the air with a beautiful dropkick. Both men got right to their feet quickly and the Mid Atlantic Champion charged. Frankie reached out and snapped him over with an arm drag. Both men were up quickly again and Casey charged once more. Frankie reached out again and took him over with another arm drag. Casey got up and charged again, firing a clothesline. Perez ducked and shoved Valentine into the ropes. Casey came back and was taken down with a hip toss. Frankie tried to drop an elbow, but Casey rolled out of the way and got to his feet. Frankie charged forward and was taken over with an arm drag from Casey Valentine. Both men got up and came together once more where Casey fired a clothesline. Frankei ducked and hooked both of the champion’s arms before spinning him around. Perez drug him into a backslide but only got a two count before Valentine kicked out. Frankie charged Casey once they were back up, but Casey swung around and grabbed Perez around the leg. In a split second Casey had rolled Frankie up and got a two count from Jay Fair. Both men got up and leapt into the air with dropkicks, connecting with nothing but air. They each kipped up and stood across the ring from one another in a stalemate. The crowd applauded their efforts and began a session of rhythmic clapping to get the match going again. Perez and Valentine went through numerous chain wrestling sequences for the next ten minutes with the result always the same; a stalemate. As they entered the twentieth minute Frankie blocked a clothesline attempt from Valentine and landed a forearm to the jaw that rocked the champion. Frankie grabbed hold of his head and quickly stepped on the middle and top ropes, swinging him around into a tornado DDT. Perez hooked the leg and Jay Fair slid in.

ONE! TWO! THR------OHHHHHHHH!

Frankie took a moment to catch his breath after Valentine kicked out. He didn’t rest long, though, getting to his feet and hoisting his opponent up as well. Perez backed Casey into the corner with a few chops and rocked him with another forearm before retreating to the opposite corner and charging forward. Perez leapt into the air as he reached the corner, but Casey darted out of the way, causing Frankie to catch nothing but turnbuckle. As Frankie stumbled out of the corner Valentine hit the ropes and ran across the ring, gaining serious speed. He approached his opponent and fired a sickening lariat that connected with the back of the skull. Casey scurried over and hooked the leg as Jay Fair got into position.

ONE! TWO! THR------RAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Valentine sighed as he accepted Perez had kicked out. Valentine got to his feet and hit the ropes, coming back with a back senton that jarred the body of his opponent. Casey hooked the leg again, but still only received a two count for his efforts. He spent a second or two arguing with Jay Fair, but was quickly reassured that Perez had kicked out at two. Casey turned his attention back to Frankie as they crossed the twenty-fifth minute. As Casey brought Perez to a standing position, Frankie fired a right hand to the mid-section and hit the ropes. As he came back though Casey lifted a boot and caught him in the jaw. Perez went back down allowing Valentine to cover for another two count. Valentine began to get irritated at his opponent, trying to figure out how to keep him down. Casey sent Perez into the ropes and fired a clothesline as he came back. Frankie ducked it and hit the ropes again, coming back with a leaping hurrincanrana out of nowhere. The crowd exploded as Frankie held on for the cover.

ONE! TWO! THRE-----OHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Casey got his shoulder up just before Jay Fair’s hand slapped the mat for the third time. The crowd was hyped up after the believable nearfall and began chanting Frankie’s name. Both men slowly got to their feet and met in the center of the ring. Frankie caught Casey with a spinning back fist that spun him around 180 degrees. Frankie hooked both of his arms in a full nelson before tossing him over and dumping him on his head with a suplex. Casey rolled right to his feet and got the wrestling spirit, rushing forward and nearly decapitating Perez with a lariat. Both men hit the ground and became motionless. Jay Fair began his standing ten count as neither man moved. By seven each man was on his knees and crawling toward one another. They met in the middle of the ring, both still on their knees. Frankie fired a stiff right hand that connected. Casey reeled back but came forward with a forearm. Frankie gathered his thoughts and fired a forearm of his own. The two continued trading blows with each strike getting stronger and stronger. They each progressed back up to a standing position where the strikes continued. Frankie got a small edge by blocking one of Casey’s right hands and landing three consecutive forearms. He hit the ropes and charged back, right into the waiting arms of Casey Valentine. Casey lifted him onto his shoulders and quickly shoved his legs into the air, driving his head into the mat with the Deep Impact. Both men collapsed to the mat and remained there momentarily. Casey was the first to stir, crawling over to his opponent and draping an arm over Perez’s chest. Jay Fair leapt into position for the count.

ONE! TWO! THRE-----RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I rushed in through the front door and around a few corners until I got to the conference room where Marv and Rip sat. They were conversing amongst themselves as I walked in and began to search for my paperwork.

Aaron: Sorry I’m a few minutes late. Clare was already bombarding me with things about the wedding.

Both Marv and Rip laughed.

Rip: Don’t worry about it kid.

I finally found the note packets in my bag and handed them out as I took a seat. It was too bad Rip’s gesture of buying lunch didn’t carry over from last month. I really wanted some pizza. We all flipped to the financial report on page 1 and Rip’s eyes lit up.

Rip: Another six grand? Damn fine job, kid.

Marv and I glanced at each other and chuckled. Rip threw his arms up and questioned us, but we remained silent as we flipped to the next page and inspected the economy and wrestling industry. Both had fallen yet again from their strength the month prior. The economy was average at best, but the wrestling industry was only at 14% strength.

Marv: I have a feeling the industry is going to hit rock bottom before it rebounds. I don’t see it affecting us right now, we drew another sell-out crowd. Hopefully it stays that way.

Rip and I nodded before flipping the page to the creative plans. We were coming up on our most interesting show of the year; Fan Festival. Polls would go up on our website and the fans would vote on various things to determine the card. I had some ideas listed for the polls and asked Rip and Marv to discuss them.

Marv: With all due respect Aaron, I think this third one should be switched up. They’ll be facing off in October, so why give it out now? Let them each go their separate ways. If things happen correctly we could even use this show as the catalyst in their feud.

I nodded.

Aaron: Excellent idea Marv.

I took a pen and scribbled some notes onto the page and assured them I would make adjustments before the polls went up. We then flipped through the rest of the report and came to the news and notes section. That was my cue to exit.

Aaron: If you guys have any questions on that let me know. Clare wants to grab lunch so we can meet formally with a Caterer. God help me.

Marv and Rip both laughed before bidding me farewell. Here’s what was listed in the notes.

Industry News and Notes from May 2011

News

- Three companies expanded their product this month. GCG went National, VWA went Regional and Hinote Dojo went Regional as well. The only one that concerns me is GCG. They have been keen on employing out workers lately. Hopefully not of them are interested in working Japan full time.

- Bradley Blaze, a brawling Texan, debuted. He plays the cowboy image to perfection having grown up on a ranch. He relies heavily on brawling to get by, but hides the fact that he is a solid worker.

- George Wolfe, son of Edward Wolfe or better known as Ed Monton, debuted. He spends a lot of time in the gym and that translates into a power move heavy offense.

- Killer shark graduated from TCW’s wrestling school and was immediately signed to a contract. The man is a pure powerhouse and uses it to steam-roll through opponents.

- Big Smack Scott suffered some sort of bicep injury and will be out of action for about a month.

- NOTBPW continues their product expansion by signing a deal with PPV Japan to broadcast their shows.

Contracts

- Sammy the Shark signed a PPA deal with CZCW.

- Roger Cage and Dewey Libertine signed PPA deals with USPW.

- Darryl Devine signed an exclusive contract extension with USPW.

Title Changes

- Nate Johnson and Grimm Quibble ended the fifteen month reign of Bobby Thomas and Whippy the Clown as CGC World Tag Team Champions.

- Sean McFly started his fifth reign as NOTBPW Canadian Champion, ending Steve DeColt’s nineteen month reign.

I'm not going to lie. I don't read this so often, (and I don't even remember who's the main champion [EDIT: It was Valentine wasn't it!]) but I want to participate.

Aaron Fujita vs. American Patriot vs. Frankie Perez vs. Casey Valentine

- One of your top guys for sure, I'd imagine he takes this match.

Texas Death

Kirk Jameson vs. Jay Chord

- I love the Texas Death stipulation, and its unused. Chord grabs the victory.

Hugh de Aske vs. Greg Gauge

KC Glenn vs. Barry Kingman ©

- I like Glenn. Alot.
