The Nexus Redux

Recommended Posts

This dynasty is set to begin in June 2010, using an editted MCD database for TEW10.

The dynasty will be unusual in the way that the game date and the dynasty wont match up exactly - ie, Week 1 June 2010 will actually be 7-13 June 2010 in the dynasty.. and, Week 1 July 2010 in game will be 5-11 July 2010; so the dates from the game will eventually go out of sync, but for the purpose of the dynasty I want to use a full calender..

Also, Im not going to post any ratings as they will have no effect on the storylines presented.. If a match gets a drastically better or worse rating than expected Ill probably note this (without explicity saying so) in the show results..

This first post will be used as a hub of sorts, as has been in my past dynasties.. Ill have links up to all the show results, and any articles I post.. and ill also have the roster up in this first post that I shall update here every now and then..

MONDAY NIGHT RAW: VIEWER’S CHOICE

June 7, 2010 – Miami, FL

<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="250" height="27" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4ZW_Xj3ACoA?rel=0" frameborder="0"></iframe>

The three-hour, Viewer’s Choice edition of Raw was overshadowed by a shocking ending that is set to shake the WWE right down to its foundations. The show itself was controlled by you, the WWE Universe, with the matches and stipulations being voted on all night on WWE.com. (FULL VOTING RESULTS)

WWE Champion John Cena fought CM Punk to a No Contest in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

Smackdown’s Straight Edge Savior was the Viewer’s Choice to face John Cena in the night’s main event. The masked leader of the Straight Edge Society was taking a beating at the hands of the WWE Champion when the match was thrown out after the NXT Season One Rookies made their presence felt. Wade Barrett led the eight-man group on an assault that took out announcers, staff, the Straight Edge Society and the WWE Champion. Barrett and his fellow rookies focused their attack on Cena, who was left out cold in the centre of a warzone as Raw went off the air.

Matt Hardy def. Drew McIntyre (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The “Chosen One” was surprised by his mystery opponent as the recently-suspended Matt Hardy was chosen by the WWE Universe to take on the former Intercontinental Champion. With his suspension only covering Smackdown, Hardy was free to take his frustrations out on the Scotsman and put him away for the pinfall with a Twist of Fate.

Randy Orton def. Edge by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)

In a rematch from their double count-out draw at Over the Limit, the wounded Viper faced a Rated-R Superstar who was forced to have one arm tied behind his back. The Ultimate Opportunist found himself disqualified after refusing to retie his arm and continuing a brutal assault on the injured arm of Randy Orton with a steel chair.

The Miz & Zack Ryder def. U.S. Champion R-Truth & John Morrison (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The Awesome One looked to end his losing streak of recent weeks as he teamed with the Long Island Loudmouth as he looked to take out the red-hot pairing of United States Champion R-Truth and his former tag team partner John Morrison. The former champion finally stepped up his game and ended the night early for his former “Dirt Sheet” co-host with a Skull Crushing Finale to score the pinfall victory.

Kane def. Sheamus via count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH)

With the Celtic Warrior clearly focussing on his WWE Championship opportunity at Fatal 4-Way on June 20, he was in no mood for the beating that the Big Red Machine was looking to put on him. Kane had his suspicions that Sheamus was somehow involved in the demise of his brother The Undertaker and looked to beat some answers out of the former WWE Champion. The Irish Superstar chose to fight another day and take the count-out defeat and save himself for the pay-per-view in 13 days.

Maryse won a 12-Diva Battle Royal (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The 12 divas were quick to pair off, with the duo of Maryse and Jillian teaming together to take on the field. With the elimination of Divas Champion Eve, Jillian was betrayed by the conceited Canadian as Maryse showed her true colours to take victory.

Vladimir Kozlov def. Santino Marella in a Dance-Off (PHOTOS | WATCH)

Raw viewers chose to pit Santino Marella against the Moscow Mauler in a dance-off, who believed he would have the advantage over his would-be tag team partner. Unfortunately for Santino, the Soviet Cyborg showed unbelievable fancy footwork to out-dance the Italian.

Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty def. The Great Khali & Hornswoggle in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The WWE Universe put their faith in the unlikely duo of the Punjabi Giant and the diminutive Hornswoggle. The pink-and-white clad Champions made quick work of the pairing, but were soon attacked by their Samoan rivals The Usos and Tamina. Kidd, Hart and Natalya had their foes scouted and managed to fend off their ferocious attackers.

Big Show def. Chris Jericho in a Body Slam Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The opening contest of Raw saw the former Unified Tag Team Champions “Jeri-Show” battle each other in the fans choice – a Body Slam Challenge. The World’s Largest Athlete was always the favourite and proved to be the winner as he Body Slammed his much smaller opponent. After the bout, the Big Show continued to please fans by first making Jericho submit in the Colossal Clutch and then throwing him over the top rope – satisfying all three potential choices.

Raw GM Bret “Hitman” Hart and Smackdown GM Theodore Long introduce Viewer’s Choice (PHOTOS)

Smackdown’s Commander-in-Chief joined his Raw counterpart to kick off the revolutionary first-ever Viewer’s Choice edition of Raw. As the duo of GM’s began to introduce the show, they were interrupted by an injured Viper. With his arm in sling after last week’s attack by Edge, Randy Orton had choice words for the Rated-R Superstar and demanded a match for later in the night. After much deliberation, Long and Hart agreed that Orton would get his match – but under the condition that Edge must wrestle with one arm tied behind his back.

THE GREATEST WRESTLING ANGLE IN RECENT MEMORY

-pwaddiction.com-

If someone would’ve said to me one week ago that I would be sat here talking about how the NXT Season One Rookies were the central part of the greatest wrestling angle in years, I would’ve thought you were high. But just hours ago, the WWE shocked everybody with a fantastic angle that is set to change the face of the WWE in 2010.

It seems that the former NXT Season One Rookies are here to stay. We all knew that Wade Barrett would be thrown into the limelight almost immediately as he received a huge rub from Chris Jericho throughout the whole process of NXT. What we didn’t expect was that he would walk in, side-by-side with the other seven ‘Rookies’ to destroy the WWE Champion and create chaos in the main event of the flagship show.

It’s impossible to guess how this angle is going to run, but if tonight’s fantastic beginning is anything to go by – it will be brilliant.

WWE NXT PREVIEW – 06/08/10

WWE NXT kicks off Season Two with a bang, as we introduce the next crop of NXT Rookies. The eight Rookies will all be looking to emulate last season’s winner Wade Barrett and leave an impression on the WWE Universe.

The first week of competition will see two matches take place, with the debut of four of the NXT Rookies. The first match will pit Rookie against Rookie as the former Arena football player Titus O’Neil goes one-on-one with the giant Eli Cottonwood.

The main event of this week’s show will see Rookie/Pro pairings go at it in tag team competition. Tag Team specialist Cody Rhodes will partner his Rookie Husky Harris, who is an impressive 290lb third-generation wrestler. That pairing will face the former U.S. Champion M.V.P. and his eccentric party-loving Rookie “Showtime” Percy Watson.

Which Rookie will leave his mark on the Season Two Premiere?

NXT: WELCOME TO SEASON TWO

June 8, 2010 – Tampa, FL

<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F2Vr6D1NL0E?rel=0" frameborder="0" height="27" width="250"></iframe>

Season Two of WWE NXT began as Season One had left off – with a bang. After the events of last night’s Raw, the new crop of NXT Rookies were shown, in no-uncertain terms, that a repeat performance would not be tolerated by their WWE Pros.

NXT Season One Invades Raw (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The WWE Universe was given a second chance to take in the carnage caused by NXT’s first graduating class. Their surprise attack on Raw was shown to both the new NXT Rookies and their WWE Pros, with NXT host Matt Striker offering both sides a chance to offer their thoughts on the brutal beatdown. Many of the Rookies believed the attack to be “cowardly” and “unbelievable” but the general consensus was that it was to make a statement. The WWE Pros in attendance obviously disagreed with their view-point and were quick to stamp out any ideas of a repeat by sending a very loud, clear and brutal message to their new protégés.

The first main event of the new season saw Pros and Rookies unite to battle each other in tag team action. “Showtime” Percy Watson gelled instantly with Mr. 305 but proved that he was not quite ready for the prime time as he suffered at the hands of the intense near-300lber Husky Harris, who despite victory failed to impress his WWE Pro Cody Rhodes.

Eli Cottonwood [1-0] def. Titus O’Neil [0-1] (PHOTOS | WATCH)

Two NXT Rookies were thrown in at the deep end as they opened the show in singles competition. The giant Cottonwood proved to be too much for the former Arena football player as his size proved too much for O’Neil. WWE Pros John Morrison and Zack Ryder got into a heated disagreement following the match and exchanged words before fellow WWE Pro The Miz told everybody involved that he was not impressed nor entertained by what he had just seen.

The WWE Universe got their first look at all eight of the NXT Rookies, with the competitiveness of all eight competitors on show early as the tension in the ring rose. The Host of NXT Matt Striker announced that the second season would last for sixteen weeks, with the finale on September 21. WWE’s Next Breakout Star will be decided by both the WWE Pros and the WWE Universe – with the first Rookie set to be eliminated in Week 8 on July 27.

With his NXT Rookie Michael McGillicutty watching on at ringside, the Intercontinental Champion brought the boom and dropped his fellow WWE Pro Zack Ryder in this non-title main event. The presence of the intimidating Titus O’Neil at ringside couldn’t help the Long Island Loudmouth in his efforts to slow down the explosive Kingston on his way to victory.

Shad def. Goldust (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The bizarre Goldust was handed a tough battle as he faced the returning Shad, who had not been seen for nearly a month. The former CrymeTyme powerhouse showed that he hadn’t lost a step as he dominated the veteran and earned victory with the Shad Taking Over.

Alicia Fox def. Gail Kim (PHOTOS | WATCH)

After eliminating each other in the 12-Diva Battle Royal this past Monday on the Viewer’s Choice edition of Raw, Gail Kim and Alicia Fox had unfinished business to take care of during the opening bout on Superstars. Gail Kim’s experience edge wasn’t enough to get the job done as Fox continued her winning ways as she looks to earn herself a shot at the WWE Divas Championship.

WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN PREVIEW – 06/11/10

Friday Night Smackdown rolls into Tampa, Florida with two huge main events which will feature the four men who will compete for the World Heavyweight Championship at Fatal 4-Way on June 20. The current World Champion Jack Swagger will go one-on-one with former Champion Rey Mysterio, in what will be the first-ever meeting of the two Superstars.

The other two men who make up the Fatal 4-Way Championship match are Big Show and the leader of the Straight Edge Society CM Punk. This will also be the first-ever meeting of Big Show and CM Punk and will be a huge main event for Friday Night Smackdown.

Also in action this week, the Women’s Champion Layla will go one-on-one with former ECW General Manager Tiffany in a non-title match. The Official Consultant to Smackdown Vickie Guerrero will also be in attendance, as she is sure to be in the corner of Dolph Ziggler as he goes one-on-one with Christian in a highly anticipated contest here on Friday Night.

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN: SEEING RED

In the week since discovering his brother in a vegetative state, Kane has been on a path of vengeance. The Big Red Monster has trusted no man, and his path of destruction saw a number of Smackdown Superstars laid out by a series of Chokeslam’s throughout the evening. (WATCH)

Big Show def. Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury (PHOTOS | WATCH)

When Smackdown began, the World’s Largest Athlete was scheduled to go one-on-one with the Straight Edge Savior CM Punk. The Leader of the S.E.S. had other ideas and replaced himself with the two men he has personally saved Luke Gallows and the newly unmasked Joey Mercury. The addition of the former Tag Team Champion to the Straight Edge Society wasn’t enough to overcome the giant Big Show, who stood tall over all.

Drew McIntyre calls out Theodore Long (PHOTOS | WATCH)

After complaining about the Smackdown GM turning a blind eye to his misfortunes, McIntyre confronted Long and announced that the pair would fight in a match next week. The Sinister Scotsman told Long that by order of Vince McMahon, the General Manager would be fired if he failed to turn up for the match. McIntyre turned his attention to Matt Hardy, passing on another message from the Chairman – announcing that Hardy’s suspension had been extended to all WWE programming. This brought out the Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, who told McIntyre that he had heard enough and dropped him with the Trouble In Paradise.

Dolph Ziggler def. Christian (PHOTOS | WATCH)

With Smackdown’s Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero in his corner, Dolph Ziggler found himself victorious over Captain Charisma. But Ziggler didn’t earn the victory all on his own as Guerrero attempted to get involved in the match and caused a distraction for the referee. Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer used this distraction to hit the ring and assaulted Christian from behind to hand victory to Ziggler on a plate. After the match, Guerrero directed traffic as the three men continued their beatdown of the former ECW Champion.

Women’s Champion Layla def. Tiffany in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The “self-professed” co-Women’s Champions Lay-Cool were joined at ringside by their NXT Rookie Kaval, as Layla made light work of fellow Diva Tiffany. The Champion capitalized on a distraction by McCool to drop Tiffany with a neckbreaker for the victory. Lay-Cool looked to add insult to injury after the bell, but were quickly ran from the ring by Kelly Kelly.

Rey Mysterio def. World Champion Jack Swagger in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The opening contest of the evening saw Rey Mysterio take a key victory on his road back to the top of the Smackdown mountain as he utilized three 619s to put away the All-American American. After suffering defeat, Swagger took out his frustrations on the Masked Maestro before both men suffered a Chokeslam at the hands of the vengeful Kane.

Fatal 4-Way Confrontation (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The night began with the four competitors of the World Title Match at Fatal 4-Way confronting each other in the ring. WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW PREVIEW – 06/14/10

One week removed from the shocking arrival of the NXT Season One Rookies; Monday Night Raw is in turmoil. Raw General Manager Bret “Hitman” Hart has promised to begin the show with his ruling on the issue. There are also rumours aplenty that the de facto leader of the NXT Rookies – Wade Barrett will have a number of demands for both Hart and the WWE.

Elsewhere, as we are just six days away from the Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view we will be given a taster of what is in store this Sunday as the United States Championship will be on the line. Current Champion R-Truth will defend against the Miz, John Morrison and Zack Ryder in a match where the odds are firmly against the Champion. Chris Jericho is also in action this week on Raw, as he looks to turnaround his recent poor run of form as he takes on the high-flying Evan Bourne.

The Divas will be in action, as the Divas Champion will team up with Gail Kim to take on the other two Divas who will fight for the title at Fatal 4-Way – Maryse and Alicia Fox. The on-going rivalry between William Regal and Santino Marella will also come to a head, with the man in the middle Vladimir Kozlov acting as the Special Guest Referee for this contest.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW: A NEXUS IS FORMED

June 14, 2010 – Charlotte, N.C.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" src="

http://www.youtube.com/embed/4ZW_Xj3ACoA?rel=0" frameborder="0" height="27" width="250"></iframe>

Raw GM Bret “Hitman” Hart attempted to make peace between the WWE Universe and the NXT Season One Rookies, as he brokered a deal with de facto leader of the newly formed “Nexus” – Wade Barrett.

The Nexus def. WWE Champion John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge & Sheamus in an 8-on-4 handicap match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The four competitors in this Sunday’s Fatal 4-Way WWE Title match were forced to co-exist for the greater good of the WWE Universe. Things looked bleak for the newly formed group of former NXT Rookies, as the WWE resistance held strong for much of this handicap main event. It was a miscommunication between rivals Edge and Randy Orton that led to the downfall of the Raw team. The Viper and the Rated-R Superstar quickly threw hands, with Orton gaining the upper hand and chasing his foe all the way backstage. With the writing on the wall, Sheamus was quick to show his true colours as the Celtic Warrior left the WWE Champion all alone with the eight-man strong Nexus group. Smelling blood, Wade Barrett zeroed in the attack on the already tired John Cena – leading a brutal eight-on-one assault on the WWE Champion. A Wasteland from Barrett was quickly followed by a deadly 450 Splash from Justin Gabriel and the victory and WWE contracts were secured by the Nexus.

Santino Marella def. William Regal (PHOTOS | WATCH)

With the Moscow Mauler performing refereeing duties, the battle between two of Europe’s best was certainly an interesting encounter. Over the past weeks, Kozlov has found himself stuck in the middle of his former partner William Regal and a man who wishes to partner the big Russian brawler, Santino Marella. It was the Italian who picked up the surprise victory, but as Regal looked to continue the fight after the bell – Kozlov stepped in and saved Santino from a beatdown from the Brit.

Divas Champion Eve & Gail Kim def. Alicia Fox & Maryse (PHOTOS | WATCH)

With just six days between these four sexy, smart and powerful divas and the Fatal 4-Way match for the Divas Championship it was the incumbent champion Eve who prevailed, with a pinfall victory over Alicia Fox. While Eve and Gail Kim performed well as a team tonight, it will be every diva for herself this Sunday on pay-per-view.

Evan Bourne def. Chris Jericho by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)

After a frustrating loss last week for the obnoxious former World Champion it was the tough challenge of Evan “Air” Bourne which pushed Chris Jericho over the edge. Jericho became even more frustrated as the young high-flyer kicked out of the Codebreaker, and proceeded to brutally attack Bourne to the point of disqualification. Bourne will get his chance at revenge in six days, as it was announced that he would face Jericho in a rematch at Fatal 4-Way.

U.S. Champion R-Truth def. The Miz, John Morrison and Zack Ryder in a Fatal 4-Way United States Championship match (PHOTOS | WATCH)

In a precursor to the Fatal 4-Way event this Sunday on pay-per-view, the WWE Universe was treated to a four-way free-for-all for the United States Championship. Regular tag team partners R-Truth and Morrison looked to have a smart game plan heading into the match, but their competitive sides came out and the partners gave each other all they had. The Miz and Zack Ryder were certainly not to be overlooked as both men looked to weasel their way to the championship – but it was the current champion who overcame the odds and pinned Ryder to retain his gold.

Raw General Manager Bret Hart brokers a deal with Wade Barrett (WATCH)

In the wake of their brutal destruction of John Cena on last week’s Raw, the group of NXT Season One Rookies began Raw with a number of demands. The group’s leader Wade Barrett explained that the group of Rookies had made a bond during their time on NXT and had agreed to collectively make an impact no matter who won the competition. Barrett christened the group “Nexus” and continued to demand contracts for every member of the group, not just himself. Raw GM Bret Hart decided to make a deal with the devil, and agreed to give the Nexus a chance to earn themselves a WWE contract. The opportunity would come at a price, as Barrett would not only lose his promised title match but also his contract should the group lose as they faced the four men who would battle for the WWE Title in six days.

WWE NXT PREVIEW – 06/15/10

Week Two of Season Two will see six of the new crop of Rookies in action as we will see an all-Rookie tag team battle and two of the strongest contenders will go head-to-head. We will also see an NXT edition of the VIP Lounge – as M.V.P. provides reaction to the events of last week and the tough love dealt out by the WWE Pros.

“The Perfect Creation” Michael McGillicutty will face the heavily favoured “Varsity Villain” Alex Riley in the Week Two main event; as both men believe they are the next winner of NXT, who will take the early momentum?

Our all-Rookie tag team match gives Week One losers Titus O’Neil and “Showtime” Percy Watson a second chance to make a first impression, as O’Neil teams with Lucky Cannon and Watson pairs up with the “World Warrior” Kaval.

NXT: VARSITY BLUES

June 15, 2010 – Raleigh, N.C.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F2Vr6D1NL0E?rel=0" frameborder="0" height="27" width="250"></iframe>

The NXT Rookies must make strong impression on both the WWE Pros and the WWE Universe as the first Pro’s Poll and Universe Poll will be revealed in just two weeks. The initial rankings will provide an insight into how the first elimination will go down four weeks later as we begin the hunt to find the WWE’s Next Breakout Star!

Michael McGillicutty [1-0] def. Alex Riley [0-1] (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The Perfect Creation got off to the perfect start for NXT Season Two as he overcame the impressive Varsity Villain in a main event worthy of any programming in the WWE Universe. The third-generation Rookie has big boots to fill as the grandson of Larry “The Axe” Hennig and son of Mr. Perfect and he certainly made a great impression during his first outing. His opponent cannot go without mention, as Alex Riley pushed McGillicutty for the whole match but was unfortunate to fall victim to a spinning neckbreaker dubbed the McGillicutter.

Kaval [1-0] & Percy Watson [1-1] def. Lucky Cannon [0-1] & Titus O’Neil [0-2] (PHOTOS | WATCH)

The first match of week two would see four rookies forced to team together in an all-Rookies tag team contest. Gelling faster than their opponents, the World Warrior Kaval and the eccentric “Showtime” Percy Watson scored victory over Lucky Cannon and Titus O’Neil. After a far from impressive outing last week, O’Neil once again tasted defeat at the hands, and feet, of the World Warrior.

Following the contest, it was O’Neil’s temporary partner that bore the brunt of the criticism – as WWE Pro Cody Rhodes singled out Lucky Cannon as the weak link of the match. Mark Henry quickly stepped in to defend his Rookie, blaming the poor performance on first night nerves – but Lucky himself took the criticism in his stride and challenged Rhodes to a one-on-one contest next week.

The NXT VIP Lounge (PHOTOS | WATCH)

M.V.P. hosted a special edition of the VIP Lounge, where he invited all eight of the season two Rookies into the ring to discuss their tough initiation last week. M.V.P. explained that the tough love was the new Rookies paying for the transgressions of their predecessors who have overstepped their boundaries with their actions on Raw. (WATCH) The Ballin’ Superstar continued by saying that the season two NXT Rookies must work hard, pay their dues and respect the opportunity they have been given by the WWE Pros. The NXT Rookies accepted the reasoning from the WWE Pros and it seemed that peace had been reached before the serious competition of week two began.
