National Wrestling Alliance

The Resurgence

When you look back at the history of wrestling the name of the National Wrestling Alliance is synonymous with professional wrestling. The NWA was the home of the greats for year after year. Legends like Flair, Rhodes, Funk, Race and Sting carried the banner for the organization through some of the greatest moments in professional wrestling history. That all changed after the NWA broke ties with WCW. The NWA, and it's prestigious World Heavyweight Championship wandered throughout the world, not making an impact with the exception of a short stint with NWA:TNA Wrestling. It's time for things to change.

The predominant powerhouse of wrestling, the WWE has decided that wrestling isn't as important as it used to be. They've decided to cut ties with wrestling, because they deal in the sports entertainment business. This move angered many wrestling purist, who don't have many other places to turn for their wrestling action anymore. That may have changed today because news has come out of Los Angeles that there is going to be a resurgence in professional wrestling.

The National Wrestling Alliance has put out a press release saying that they are gathering in the World's Heavyweight Championship, the World's Tag Team Championships, and the Heritage Championship into one central promotion that will operate out of Los Angeles. This means that the National Wrestling Alliance will operate as an independent promotion from here on out. They aim to provide the old-school wrestling action that so many want to return. The NWA will feature many of the talents that have worked for it's promotions over the past few years like World's Champion The Shiek, Adam Pearce and Colt Cabana. New talent will also be infused into the promotion from around the world, and these talents will start making appearances on the NWA's flagship show, Championship Wrestling this week.

It is a time of excitement for real wrestling fans. Other places may have turned their back on you, but not the NWA. It's time for the kings of professional wrestling to take back their crown. This is the National Wrestling Alliance. This is professional wrestling.

NWA Championship Wrestling

Weekly TV Show Preview

A new era of the National Wrestling Alliance gets underway Friday night on KDOC-TV in Los Angeles. Championship Wrestling will be coming your way from the campus of UCLA in beautiful Los Angeles. The word going around is that Colt Cabana is very upset about losing his World's Championship to The Sheik last week, and with his rematch clause in his back pocket, when will he cash it in? Will he take the first opportunity, or will he wait until the big end of month event, the NWA Showcase? We caught up with Colt earlier today.

Colt Cabana

Sheik! You have entered a place that even you will be frightened by. Most people know Colt Cabana as a fun loving guy, and they would be right in assuming that. But you did something that has changed everything Sheiky-boy! You blatantly cheated me out of the championship, and now things are going to get ugly. Everybody knows that I have a rematch clause stating that if I lost the title then I would get a rematch. When am I going to cash that in you ask? You'll all just have to tune in and see. But you can all bet that I'm going to lock in the Billy Goat's Curse, and Sheik, you'll have no other option than to tap out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is uncertain if Cabana will cash in his rematch this week at the tapings, but you never know what Colt might do. If that match were to happen it would be a great bout, but as it stands the main event of the evening is scheduled to be the former World's Heavyweight Champion, "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce against Sean Waltman. These two have very different styles, so it should be a fun match as we see which style will come out on top.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other news the vacant NWA World Tag Team Championship belts will be vacant for only a short time longer. A 4 team tournament will begin at this week's Championship Wrestling taping with the team of Chris Harris and Trevor Murdock taking on Lance Hoyt and Joey Ryan. Harris and Murdock are two country boys who can really brawl with the best of them, while Hoyt and Ryan possess a unique mix of power and speed. This promises to be a great first round matchup, and the winners will move onto the finals, which will take place at the NWA Showcase at the end of the month.

Quick Picks

NWA Championship Wrestling

Friday, May Week 1, 2011

Taped at UCLA Men's Gym in Los Angeles, California

Attendance: 2,000

This new era of the National Wrestling Alliance kicks off with a shot of the crowd going crazy, ready for an hour packed full of great wrestling action. The cameras then go ringside where a couple of familiar faces are sitting at the table.

Tony Schiavone

Hello wrestling fans! I'm Tony Schiavone and you may know my partner as the Disco Inferno, but we know him as Glen Gilbertti. Welcome to NWA Championship Wrestling from sunny LA! Tonight we start a new era of NWA wrestling. This great organization has had a fall from grace in recent years, but those days are over. Tonight with the support of all the great wrestling fans we begin our climb back to the top of the industry. We know we've got a long way to go and plenty of other companies to pass along the way, but every person here believes that we will be the top name in professional wrestling again in the future.

Tonight is going to be exciting as we will kick things off with the first round of the tag team championship tournament as Trevor Murdock and Chris Harris will team to take on Lance Hoyt and Joey Ryan. Then our main event will feature international wrestling superstar Sean Waltman taking on the former Heavyweight Champion of the World, "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce. It is hard telling what other kind of things we will see here tonight....

Just as Schiavone wraps up that sentence he is cut off by the man who held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship until last week, Colt Cabana. The crowd goes crazy when they see Colt, but he looks uncharacteristically serious tonight. He marches right down to the ring and grabs a microphone from ringside.

Colt Cabana

I'm really sorry to have to interrupt you on such an important night Mr. Schiavone and Mr. Gilbertti. How cool is it that the Disco Inferno is our color man, right? Anyways, focus Colt, tonight is big. I'm sure you all saw how I was absolutely gypped out of the World Championship by The Sheik last week. There is no way that he could beat me cleanly in a one-on-one match. He had to reach into his bag of tricks and use every single one of them to take my championship away, and there's no way that I'm going to stand here and take that.

Sheik! The NWA Championship Committee has informed me that I can cash in my rematch clause any time and any place I choose. Well Sheik, I'm not a patient man, so get out here and let's have our little rematch. Nothing like kicking off a new age in the National Wrestling Alliance with a new World's Heavyweight Champion!

World's Heavyweight Championship Match

The Sheik © vs. Colt Cabana

The Sheik's Backstory

The Sheik won the World's Heavyweight Championship last week from Colt Cabana using underhanded tactics, giving the NWA a black eye heading into their reunification. The Sheik is a very talented man, but he resorts to tactics that most rules committee's tend to frown upon. Now that he is the champion he becomes much more dangerous. With his low down dirty tactics, will he ever relinquish the championship?

Cabana's Backstory

Colt Cabana is someone a real wrestling fan can get behind. Not only is a one of the more entertaining men to ever step in a NWA ring, but he can back it up as he is a very good wrestler. Fans around the world know him as a goofy and fun loving guy, but he's down to business now that he was cheated out of the championship. Here in this rematch he could be very dangerous for The Sheik because he's got revenge on the mind.

The Finish

Cabana spent most of the match trying to ground Sheik and beat him into submission, but Sheik kept bending the rules to escape the former champion and get himself some time to recuperate. Fans thought it was over when Cabana hit the Colt .45, but The Sheik's foot was under the ropes as Colt tried to pin him. Cabana thought he'd won the championship back and went into full celebration mode. This allowed Sheik time to stir, and he reached for his trademark spike. He got behind Cabana and struck him in the back with it, driving all the air out of Colt. The Sheik was then able to lock in the Camel Clutch. The referee asked Colt if he would give up, but after a short struggle it was evident that Cabana was out cold, and the referee called for the bell.

Winner and Still World's Heavyweight Champion: The Sheik

Match Time: 16:22

Rating: D-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match the crowd showered down boos on top of the World Champion, and he looked very pleased with himself as he collected his championship and started to exit the arena. He saw Colt start to stir in the ring though, and decided that he wasn't done. He'd already taken the title from Colt, now it seemed like he was coming for his career. He grabbed a chair from ringside, then entered the ring and nailed Cabana square between the eyes with it. As Colt struggled to get to his feet it looked like The Sheik was getting ready to unleash one of his trademark fireballs right at his rival.

Just as things were looking bleak for Cabana a figure came sprinting into view, and it turned out to be the former All-American from Minnesota, Shelton Benjamin making his NWA debut! Benjamin went straight to The Sheik and took him down to the mat. He waited for The Sheik to get up and got ready to hit him with Paydirt, but The Sheik came to and hit the high road as he rolled out of the ring. He grabbed his championship and yelled words of warning to the two men in the ring as Benjamin helped Colt Cabana to his feet.

First Round of the NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament

Chris Harris and Trevor Murdock vs. Lance Hoyt and Joey Ryan

Harris and Murdock's Backstory

These two men are proud of their cowboy ways, and seem to have bonded over it when they met here in the NWA. They put their names in the tournament to crown a new World Tag Team Champion here in the new NWA. They both have a very strong tag team background as they each have been tag team champions in their previous promotions, and Chris Harris even held the NWA Tag Title while in NWA:TNA.

Hoyt and Ryan's Backstory

Both of these men have held the NWA Tag Team Championships, but they are a very odd duo. Lance Hoyt is strictly business in the ring, and he is very vicious. Joey Ryan isn't quite as vicious or serious. They could pose a problem for many teams though as they have a great mix of power and technical ability. Fans might not like how they get the job done, but it is likely that they will be a formidable duo.

The Finish

Hoyt and Ryan worked like a well oiled machine even though they have never tagged together. They used frequent tags and double team moves. All the great teamwork won't stop a devastating move from Chris Harris, the Catatonic. He locked Ryan in for it, and as he spun him Lance Hoyt made a very heads up move and tagged Joey Ryan in the bag as he was able to be slammed. Hoyt got into the ring and waited for Harris, then drilled him with a full speed big boot, finishing the match and giving his team a World Tag Team Championship match.

Winners: Lance Hoyt and Joey Ryan

Match Time: 9:46

Rating: D

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The camera goes backstage after the match, where new NWA wrestler Shane Helms is talking to his new colleagues. He is sharing some laughs with people when he is bumped out of nowhere by former World Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce. Pearce is heading to the ring for his main event match with Sean Waltman, and isn't in the best mood apparently, something that seems to be a common theme with Pearce.

Adam Pearce

If it isn't Shane Helms. What, no mask or cape? Seriously, you are a joke.

Shane Helms

Wow, you are a such a funny guy Adam. I've heard a lot about you. Mainly that you always seem like someone pooped in your Cheerios. You may have been World Champion, but that was before NWA decided it was time to go big once again. There are new guys in town Adam, and you aren't one of them. I have a feeling your days here are numbered, because you are way out of your league.

Adam Pearce

My days are numbered? I beg to differ. How about you watch my match with that moron Sean Waltman up next, then you'll see who's days are numbered. And once I dump that crack head like one of his 124 bad habits, I'm coming for you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SeanWaltman.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/VSlogo.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/AdamPearce.jpg

Sean Waltman vs. Adam Pearce

Waltman's Backstory

Sean Waltman has a very storied wrestling career. All of his career isn't positive, but he's had a memorable career nevertheless. Waltman believes that his best days are ahead of him, and he thinks he has a legitimate chance at becoming World's Heavyweight Champion. The fans have watched him grow up before their eyes, and they will likely be behind him as he tries to validate his career with one more big run.

Pearce's Backstory

Adam Pearce is a three-time former World's Heavyweight Champion, and his latest reign lasted almost a full year before he lost the title to Colt Cabana. With the reunification of the NWA Pearce is finding that he is going to have to prove himself all over again, and he is not happy about it at all. He is one of the most dangerous men in the world once he enters the ring, and the new big additions to the NWA better not take him lightly because he has the ability to claim the championship again.

The Finish

Sean Waltman was very excited to get this match in the books, but he might have worn himself out trying to get this big victory. He wasn't able to put Pearce away with several moves, and it looked like he was starting to get frustrated. Both men were starting to get gassed when Waltman hit his sitout facebuster. He was so tired though he took him several seconds to get over to cover Pearce, and that gave him the time he needed to kick out. Waltman was exhausted and tried to roll up Scrap Iron, but he was able to reverse and get Waltman up and drop him with his trademark piledriver for the three count and Pearce celebrated as the first show in the new era went off the air.

Winner: Adam Pearce

Match Time: 15:41

NWA Championship Wrestling

Weekly TV Show Preview

Last week's edition of Championship Wrestling saw Colt Cabana cash in his rematch clause for a World's Heavyweight Championship match, and he was denied a comeback victory by The Sheik, who held onto his World Title by using his trademark spike to take out the former champion. Then after the match Sheik went after Cabana again, but before a fireball could come into play Shelton Benjamin made his NWA debut and made the save for Cabana. Now this week these two new found friends will tag to take on The Sheik, and his partner he chose this week who is represented by Jim Cornette, Mike Knox. We got responses from all four men earlier in the week.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/ColtCabana.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SheltonBenjamin.jpg

Colt Cabana

Sheik! I'll give it to you, it's not easy to pull the wool over the eyes of Colt Cabana twice in two weeks, but you managed to do it. Congratulations, you once again had to cheat to beat me. Well in this week's match don't expect to see me playing by the rules. You think you are tough attacking me with a chair and trying to burn me with a fireball after the match? I don't think so Sheik, you are nothing but a coward, and myself and Mr. Benjamin standing here are going to show you tough this week. This one isn't about the title, it's about me getting revenge! Tell 'em Shelton!

Shelton Benjamin

That's right Colt. Sheik, you stepped over the line when you went after Colt after the match. What you do inside that ring is your own business, but when you go after one of my friends after the match is over and he is defenseless, then it becomes my business. You can expect us to take care of business in this match, and after I plant you in the middle of the ring with Paydirt, then the most athletically gifted man in the history of the NWA is coming for your World Heavyweight Championship!

The video then cuts away, and the trio of The Sheik, Mike Knox, and his manager Jim Cornette are standing by with remarks of their own.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/TheSheik.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/JimCornette.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/MikeKnox.jpg

Jim Cornette

You two really think you have a chance of beating the duo behind me? Cabana, you know what Sheik did to you last week, I think you are incredibly dumb for coming back for more of the same from him. Plus, I think you were beaten by a better man for the World Heavyweight Championship a few weeks back, and we found that out last week when The Sheik once again dominated you. I'm very impressed by The Sheik, and I'm glad to have him on my team for this week's episode of Championship Wrestling.

But what I'm here to talk about today is the man standing on my right. Take a good look at him folks, I'm sure you all know who this man is. This is the man who is going to take the NWA by force, Mike Knox. Mike is a 6 foot 6, 300 pound wildman built out of the mold of the late, great Bruiser Brody. If you stand toe to toe with him in his ring, then you are going to get hurt, badly. Sheik, as I said before I really respect what you do, but that warning goes for you too. If you don't hold onto your title closely, Mike Knox will take it from you. Colt, Shelton! You two are in for a world of hurt Friday night, I hope you have good insurance!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last week Adam Pearce and Shane Helms had a little dust up backstage as Pearce showed that he has no respect for Helms. These two men will settle their differences in the middle of the ring Friday night, and we caught up with both of them earlier today.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/AdamPearce.jpg

Adam Pearce

Do I have any respect for Shane Helms? Well lets see, he is a very talented wrestler, no doubt. He's held multiple championships and has wrestled all around the world. But in a short answer, Hell No! For God's sake the guy ran around for years in a cape and a mask like a superhero. Helms, there is no room for superheros in my NWA. We deal in reality here in the National Wrestling Alliance, and the reality is that Adam Pearce is far superior to Shane Helms.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/ShaneHelms.jpg

Shane Helms

I hear that Adam Pearce has been running his mouth about how he has no respect for me or what I've done. I have to admit that I do have respect for Adam, regardless of how he feels about me. The man just had a year long World Heavyweight Championship reign, that's something I've never come close to. But Pearce, you were a big fish in a small pond. Where I came from the fish like you were eaten everyday by blood thirsty sharks. You wouldn't have lasted a month. I did what I had to do to stand out from the crowd, and it worked, I gained fans world wide. But this isn't about gaining fans Adam, this is about me beating some respect into you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week is marking a big return for the NWA as Rob Conway will return to face Austin Aries in a one-on-one match. We caught up with Conway to get his thoughts on his first match back.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/RobConway.jpg

Rob Conway

Rob Conway here! I wish I could say that it's good to be back here in the NWA, but that'd be a lie. This place is a dump that isn't worthy of Rob Conway. I'm a truthful man, and the truth is that the only reason I'm here is to use the NWA as a stepping stone to make it back to the big time. Trust me, the second I can get away from these rinky dink gyms and the 350 pound gym rats I'm outta here. But while I'm here I'm going to utterly embarrass everybody the championship committee throws at me, starting with......what the Hell is that guy's name again?

Voice Off Screen

It's Austin Aries sir.

Rob Conway

That's right! Austin Aries! Well Mr. Aries, prepare to be made famous by the most fabulous thing to ever grace the NWA, me, Rob Conway.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The remaining match on Friday's card will see Atsushi Sawada defend his Heritage Championship against a man who has become a regular he in California, Mark Jindrak. Jindrak is an very talented young man who has all the tools to go back to the top, and common knowledge would tell you that Sawada's title reign could be in trouble. Will Atsushi step up to the plate and make a name for himself here in the NWA, or will Mark Jindrak take the first step towards becoming a top talent here in the NWA? Find this out and much more Friday at Championship Wrestling!

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sawada's Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Atsushi Sawada is a man that most American fans know nothing about. He quickly came into the NWA though and took the Heritage Championship for his own. His defended it since the end of July, turning back all comers and looking impressive in doing so. He uses an impressive strong style offense, and many think it's going to take someone who can take a beating for a sustained period to take his title.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jindrak's Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Mark Jindrak has wrestled all over the world. He starred in WCW and the WWF before moving onto Mexico, where he became a superstar. He recently returned to America and makes his NWA debut here tonight in a match for the Heritage Championship. Jindrak seems to have all the tools to make it big here in the NWA, but is he ready to come in and make an impact on his first night?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish </span></strong></p><p>

Mark Jindrak controlled much of this match, and he looked very arrogant as he hit move after move on Sawada, who was having a hard time fighting back from the barrage from Jindrak. The challenger went for Air Jindrak, but Sawada got out of the corner in time, then went to take down Jindrak with a buzzsaw kick, but Jindrak also was able to avoid this move, and he met Sawada with the Mark of Excellence. Jindrak covered the champion for the 3 count and claimed the Heritage Championship for his own.</p><p> </p><p>

A video plays on the screen, showing last week's run-in between Adam Pearce and Shane Helms backstage. Pearce told Helms that he would have to respect what he did, and he backed up his talk as he went out and beat Sean Waltman. It then shows the words exchanged on the NWA's website this week as the two men talk about respect, or lack thereof. Tonight we will find out which man deserves the respect they are looking for.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Shane Helms vs. Adam Pearce</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Helms' Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Shane Helms has had a very strong career in professional wrestling. He started over a decade ago in WCW, and has carried his strong resume through today, where he joins the NWA. Many people think of Helms as a comic book hero wannabe, but the truth is that Helms is a very talented technical wrestler and has the ability to be a headliner in the NWA and make a run at his first World Title reign.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pearce's Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Last week Adam Pearce showed why he is a three time World Heavyweight Champion. He took on Sean Waltman and looked very impressive as he forced Waltman to the mat for the three count. Now he is embroiled in a disagreement with Shane Helms over who is the better wrestler, and they both plan on finding out in this upcoming match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

This match was very heated all the way through with each man wanting to prove to the other that they are a superior wrestler. There wasn’t much in the way of brawling here, it was more of a technical showcase and never got out of control. There looked to be a mutual respect throughout the bout, but that all changed when Adam Pearce got something from ringside and put it in his hand. He then “accidentally” bumped into the referee, who took a second to compose himself. With his back turned Pearce approached Helms and unloaded a right hand that was full of a roll of nickels, as evidenced by the coins flying through the air. When the referee came to Pearce pinned Helms and got the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/AustinAries.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Austin Aries makes his entrance to the ring as the fans cheer him on. Aries is no stranger to this territory and the crowd knows exactly what he can do inside the squared circle and show him a great deal of respect. He acknowledges his fans around ringside, then grabs the microphone to respond to the message sent by Rob Conway earlier in the week.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Austin Aries</span></span></span></strong></p><p>

Earlier this week we heard from Rob Conway and it sounded like Conway wanted nothing to do with the NWA. He talked about how his was just using NWA as a stepping stone to make it back to the big time. Big time? Didn’t know Sunday Night Heat was the big time. Well Rob, you use the NWA for whatever you think you need to use it for. I know what I’m in the NWA for; I’m here to put on a great show night in and night out for these great fans. I’m here to help this company grow back to the heights that it was in my early childhood. I’m here to create a legacy for myself and win the most prestigious belt in the history of wrestling, the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Austin Aries vs. Rob Conway</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aries’ Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Austin Aries is one of the most exciting grapplers in the world. He’s won championships in multiple areas and electrifies fans with the combination of his high flying ability and great technical skill. He has spoken of wanting to claim a World Championship reign here in the NWA, and a big step in that process will be beating Rob Conway here, a man that doesn’t even seem to know who Aries is.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Conway’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Rob Conway exudes confidence. Many people believe that he has way too much confidence for the talent that he contains, but that doesn’t slow him down at all. He thinks the NWA is just a stepping stone to return to greener pastures, and has let it be known that the second he can jump ship from the NWA, he’ll never be seen by this crowd again. He has a tough first match back against Austin Aries, and it seems like he could be fatally unprepared against this talented wrestler.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

Austin Aries quickly shut Rob Conway up in this match. He kept him grounded for almost the entirety of the match, and Conway wasn’t heard running his mouth once during the butt kicking he was taking. Rob Conway didn’t get here by being a push over though, and with a quick low blow he was back in the driver’s seat. Aries never was able to really recover, he tried several high risk moves but came up empty on all of them, then got draped across the ropes and Conway hit the Ego Trip to get the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Shelton Benjamin and Colt Cabana vs. The Sheik and Mike Knox w/Jim Cornette</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Benjamin and Cabana’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Colt Cabana had a chance at reclaiming the World Championship last week against The Sheik, but he was unable to do so, and in the aftermath Shelton Benjamin came to the rescue of Cabana, taking the Sheik out in the process. Shelton Benjamin is making his in-ring debut here, and he is one of the most athletic wrestlers ever to step into the ring, and could make a huge impact quickly here. These two men have bonded quickly since Benjamin joined the NWA, and they look like they could be a very tough team for The Sheik and Mike Knox to deal with tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sheik and Knox’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

The Sheik successfully defended his World Championship for the first time last week against Colt Cabana, but he was very angry when Shelton Benjamin interrupted his post match activities. He comes into this week’s tag team match looking to prove that he is a credible World Champion and to put more fear into the hearts of the NWA. He is joined by manager extraordinaire Jim Cornette’s newest acquisition, the monster Mike Knox. Knox is a huge man who will stop at nothing to see a wake of bodies laid before him here in the NWA, and he will be unleashed in this match, and somebody could get hurt.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

The Sheik was taking it to Colt Cabana once again, and he had him face down in the middle of the ring when he locked in the Camel Clutch for the second time in two weeks. Before Cabana could tap though Shelton Benjamin entered the ring and broke the hold up. Cabana then was able to get back to the corner and tag in Benjamin. Sheik went to tag Mike Knox, but Knox refused to tag in and stepped into the ring. He then laid out Sheik with a big boot as everybody was stunned. He then charged across the ring and did the same to Shelton Benjamin, then followed up by dragging Cabana back into the ring and hitting the Knox Out. He and Cornette then headed straight to the back. This left all three men out in the ring, and Shelton Benjamin was the first to his feet, followed by The Sheik. The World Champion charged at Benjamin, who used his agility to get out of the way then hit Paydirt and got the three count. He helped Colt Cabana to his feet and they celebrated as Championship Wrestling went off the air.</p><p> </p><p>

With everybody left down and out on the mat and Mike Knox taking a hike this allowed Shelton Benjamin to come to and then get the victory against the World Heavyweight Champion and securing himself a World Title match at Wrestling Showcase at the end of the month.</p><p> </p><p> This week another big tag team main event will take place involving the World's Champion and his challenger. Their partners will be switched around this week though to hopefully lead to a more lawful finish. In their corner's this week will be two men who have had their problems in recent weeks, Shane Helms and Adam Pearce. These two fought last week, and with an assist from a roll of nickels Adam Pearce was able to come out on top. NWA camera crews were able to catch up with Pearce and Helms earlier this week.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/AdamPearce.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/ShaneHelms.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">Adam Pearce</span></span></strong></span></p><p> <em>Man, it's good to be Adam Pearce! What did I tell you Helms? I told you that I am a far superior man to you. What happened? I beat you 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. I've been hearing people talking all week saying I cheated. I think it's the other way around. You had a roll of coins ready to strike me, and I hit you with such force that they went flying out of your hand. Hear that people? Shane Helms is a dirty cheater! He tried underhanded tactics to beat the premier wrestler here in the NWA, but he couldn't do it. That's why I, "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce is going to steamroll Helms again this week in the tag match, then I'm coming for the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship I never should have lost in the first place. </em></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Shane Helms</span></span></span></strong></p><p> <em>Adam Pearce is calling me a cheater? Are you kidding me? I watched the video back a few times this week and you can clearly see the roll of nickels he hit me with explode the second they connected with my head. Pearce, that's the only way you could have beaten me. I told you last week I had respect for what you've done, but now that I've seen how you operate up close and personal that respect is out the window. I'm coming for you, and I'm going to expose you for what you are, a no good hack that has no business being anywhere near the World's Title you cheated to win and keep for almost a year. Pearce, you are going to get what's coming to you, and it starts with the tag team main event on Championship Wrestling this week!</em></p><p> </p><p> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> In that same tag team main event from last week we saw Mike Knox destroy everybody in the ring, even his own teammate before walking out on the main event. We were able to catch up with "The Wildman" Mike Knox and his manager Jim Cornette earlier this week.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/JimCornette.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/MikeKnox.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">Jim Cornette</span></span></span></strong></p><p> <em>You can all consider yourself on warning. My client, "The Wildman" Mike Knox isn't going to sit back and wait for things to be handed to him anymore. He's going to go out there week in and week out and make things happen for himself. He showed you all what he can do last week when he took out a former World's Champion, the current World's Champion, and the number one contender to that prestigious championship without even breaking a sweat. Sheik, I told you I like you, but that doesn't mean that Mike Knox doesn't want what you have. Now consider yourself adequately warned, The Wildman has no friends. He has no allies, only enemies. If you dare step into the ring with Mike Knox then you ARE going to get hurt. This week he faces Blue Demon Jr., another former World Champion. Everybody, get a good look at one of your favorites, because he's going to be put on the shelf for a very long time!</em></p><p> </p><p> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> There will be two other matches on the card for this week's big television tapings. One will see two very talented wrestlers go at it one-on-one. In one corner will be Sean Waltman, who had a great match with Adam Pearce a few weeks back even though he came out on the losing end. In the other corner will be a man who is making his NWA debut, Paul Burchill. Burchill has been on the cusp of breaking out into a major star for years now, can he fulfill that promise here in the National Wrestling Alliance?</p><p> </p><p> The other match will see the other first round match in the NWA World Tag Team Championship tournament. Two weeks ago Lance Hoyt and Joey Ryan moved onto the finals, which will take place at the NWA Wrestling Showcase at the end of the month. They will take on the winners of this week's tournament match for the World Tag Team Championships. This match features the team of James Maritato and Shawn Spears taking on Colt Cabana and Bob Holly. This match could go either way as there is years of experience is the ring. Will Colt Cabana turn things around and replace the World Heavyweight Championship with the Tag Team Championship around his waist? Bob Holly and Colt Cabana vs. James Maritato and Shawn Spears</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Holly and Cabana’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Bob Holly has come to the NWA to try to make one last run at the top and show the young guns of the NWA how a real man takes care of business. His vicious style in the ring will beat the respect into young rookies. Colt Cabana was World’s Champion less than a month ago, and after an unsuccessful try at getting his crown back, he joins Holly in this tournament looking to put more gold around his waist.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Maritato and Spears’ Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Maritato and Spears have both wrestled under the big lights and they both possess very good technical ability. Maritato has decided to take Spears under his wing and show him how to make up for any size difference by being able to execute any hold at any time. With the impressive technical ability of these two Holly and Cabana could be in trouble in the first round, and this duo could be moving onto Wrestling Showcase to fight for the titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

Maritato and Spears backed up exactly what everybody thought about them, if they take the action to the mat there are few in the NWA that can beat them. For every hold Holly and Cabana tried, they had an escape. It’s kind of hard to escape a huge right hand you don’t see coming though, and as Holly took down Spears, the momentum shifted. Holly then hit the Alabama Slam on Spears and tagged in Cabana, who came in and locked in the Billy Goat’s Curse and forced Spears to tap, giving his team a World’s Title match at the end of the month.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Blue Demon Jr. vs. Mike Knox w/ Jim Cornette</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Blue Demon Jr.’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

This masked luchador was World’s Heavyweight Champion not too long ago and since losing the title he has remained a fan favorite in the Southwest. He represents the strong lucha libre history in this section of the country and is a throwback to many great Mexican wrestlers of the past. He is looking to climb back up the ladder and get in World Title contention once more.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Knox’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Mike Knox is being managed by Jim Cornette, and the world famous manager is using Knox as his own personal tool of destruction. Both men don’t care about anyone else in the promotion, they just want to smash their way through everybody to get to the top and put the World’s Title around Knox’s waist. We saw his ruthlessness last week when he took everybody in the tag match out, including his own partner and in the process sent a very strong message to the World Heavyweight Champion and the entire NWA.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

Blue Demon Jr. had the entire crowd behind him in this one, nobody wanted to see Mike Knox come out of this match successful. That wasn’t to be though as Knox swatted away many of his opponent’s attempts at offense. The finish came when Blue Demon got a head of steam and went up top for a double axe handle, but Knox planted and drove a boot straight into his face, giving his the academic three count and the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

After the match Mike Knox stood over his fallen victim, but that wasn’t enough for Jim Cornette. Cornette patted Knox on the back, then pointed down at Blue Demon Jr. and told Knox to finish him. Knox then forced him back up to his feet, where he was met with Knox’s vicious reverse STO finisher he calls the Knox Out. Cornette yelled that Knox did a good job, and said this is what’s going to happen from now on as manager and client exited the arena to a chorus of boos.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SeanWaltman.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/VSlogo.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/PaulBurchill.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Sean Waltman vs. Paul Burchill</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Waltman’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

There is no doubt that Sean Waltman is a very talented wrestler, but it’s his focus that has been known to get him in trouble throughout his career. Waltman has come to the NWA with a renewed focus, and has made it known that he’s coming for the World’s Championship. Waltman had a great match with former World Champion Adam Pearce a few weeks back but was unable to pick up the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Burchill’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Paul Burchill is kind of a mystery in the wrestling community. Everyone who’s seen him says he has unmatched talent in the ring, but for whatever reason he hasn’t been able to turn that into success. He now comes to the NWA to turn his career around and become a major star here in America. He says he’s not going to do things for other people anymore, it’s all about getting himself to the top.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

Burchill was ruthless in this match. He would take Waltman down with his pure power, then keep him on the mat with great technique. He ran into an old problem though, he started to get over confident. He could have finished Waltman with two or three different moves, but chose to keep punishing him. He eventually got him up on the top for a superplex, but Waltman threw him off, then nailed a moonsault onto Burchill and got the 1-2-3.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SheltonBenjamin.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The tag team main event is up next, and the first man to make his entrance is the number one contender to the World’s Heavyweight Championship, Shelton Benjamin. Before Benjamin’s partner, Shane Helms can make his entrance though Benjamin asks for the microphone from ringside because he’s got some words for The Sheik.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Shelton Benjamin</span></span></strong></p><p>

<em>I’m not a man of many words, I let my in ring action do my talking for me. But this has to be addressed. Sheik, you are running around this place like you own it. No doubt we are all looking up at you because you are the World’s Champion. But next week at Wrestling Showcase I’m taking that title from you Sheik. Shelton Benjamin is 10 times the wrestler you could ever hope to be, and I’m the next Heavyweight Champion of the World!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Shelton Benjamin and Shane Helms vs. The Sheik and Adam Pearce</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Benjamin and Helms’ Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Shelton Benjamin was recently named the number one contender to the World’s Title, and he’s facing the man who holds it right now, The Sheik, in this tag team attraction. Last week the duo were also in a tag match, and after Mike Knox left the arena Benjamin was able to get the pin on the champion, earning him the title match. Shane Helms is also in a bitter feud, this one over respect with Adam Pearce. On last week’s show Pearce came out on top over Helms, but Helms is looking to turn that around this week.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sheik and Pearce’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

As mentioned earlier, The Sheik was stabbed in the back last week by Mike Knox, now the World’s Champion hopes he has a more stable partner in Pearce. The Sheik is looking to hurt Shelton Benjamin in this match, thus eliminating the biggest threat to his reign right now. Adam Pearce is also looking to send a message before Wrestling Showcase. Pearce will face off with Shane Helms once again at the big end of month event, and tonight he’s looking to make it 2 in a row over his rival.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

For much of the match The Sheik and Adam Pearce used every dirty trick to keep Shane Helms in the ring and Shelton Benjamin out. They showed good teamwork as they wore down Helms and isolated him. After this long battle Helms was able to turn a Pearce suplex around, then he made it to his corner to Shelton Benjamin and he came in and cleaned house. Benjamin threw Sheik out of the ring, then hit Paydirt on Pearce. As he went to pin him Helms begged to be tagged back in, wanting to finish off Pearce to even out their rivalry. Helms got in the ring and forced Adam up, then went for a Shining Wizard, but Pearce countered and tagged The Sheik back in, and he was able to hit a low blow as the referee was trying to get Pearce out of the ring. He then locked in the Camel Clutch, and before long the referee called for the end of the match as Helms was out cold.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winners: The Sheik and Adam Pearce</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Ultimate Warrior Passes Away at 53</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>LOS ANGELES, CA---</strong>Today is a very sad day for the professional wrestling industry. We at the NWA are saddened to inform our fans that earlier today wrestling legend The Ultimate Warrior passed away at age 53. There will undoubtedly be a further investigation into Warrior's death, but many around him are saying that his years of abuse of hard drugs and steroids in the past may have caught up with him.</p><p> </p><p>

The Warrior started his career wrestling in the south, teaming with future NWA Legend, Sting as the Blade Runners. He went out on his own and found success in WCCW before moving to the WWF, a move that would rocket him to super stardom. He had a meteoric rise in the WWF, culminating in one of the biggest matches in WWF history as he defeated Hulk Hogan in the Toronto SkyDome at Wrestlemania VI to win the WWF World Championship. Warrior's time with WWF would be on and off with the WWF after his title reign came to an end in 1992, and wherever he went controversy surrounded him.</p><p> </p><p>

While he wasn't the most talented wrestler inside the squared circle Ultimate Warrior will be remembered as the man who captured every audience that he ever performed for. Countless children idolized the Warrior throughout his wrestling career, and it's unlikely anybody will ever bring as much intensity as he did to each and every match. Even though he hasn't had much to do with pro wrestling in recent years, Warrior will be sorely missed by all who watched his amazing rise to stardom.</p>

On last week's episode of Championship Wrestling we saw another tag team main event involving the World Heavyweight Champion The Sheik and the number one contender to his title, Shelton Benjamin. This time bitter rivals Adam Pearce and Shane Helms would be in their corners. It was grueling match that saw some great teamwork, but in the end it was the World Heavyweight Champion who got the decision as he put Helms out with his deadly Camel Clutch.</p><p> </p><p> This week's main event will see the number one contender Shelton Benjamin get a warm up match for his World's Title match this Saturday at Wrestling Showcase. He didn't draw an easy match though as he will face the man who holds the other singles title in the NWA, the Heritage Champion Mark Jindrak. Jindrak won his debut match in the NWA, which just happened to be a Heritage Title match. It is important that Shelton Benjamin win this match because he needs all the momentum he can get to take down The Sheik, and coming in with a losing streak would put a damper on things. Jindrak isn't expected to just lay down for Benjamin though, and we caught up with him earlier this week.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/MarkJindrak.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">Mark Jindrak</span></span></strong></span></p><p> <em>Mark Jindrak here, your Heritage Champion! I've only been here in the NWA for a couple of weeks, and I've surveyed my surroundings. There is some very good talent here in the new National Wrestling Alliance, but I firmly believe that I am the cream of the crop when it comes to singles competitors here. You are going to get no argument from me that Shelton deserves a title shot at Wrestling Showcase, but you better believe it when I say that I'm not settling with just holding the Heritage Title. Whoever comes out of the World Title match with the strap around their waist, I'm coming for you!</em></p><p> </p><p> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> Another big match this week features a man who is running over everybody who gets in his way so far, "The Wildman" Mike Knox. Knox is managed by Jim Cornette, and the duo has been ruthless since joining the NWA. This week they go up against a wily veteran, Sean Waltman. Waltman got a big victory last week against Paul Burchill, and is looking to carry forward some momentum to hopefully make a run at the World's Heavyweight Championship. We caught up with Waltman earlier this week.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SeanWaltman.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Sean Waltman</span></span></span></strong></p><p> <em>I am feeling good! I think I've turned things around here. I took a loss to Adam Pearce in my first match back, but I've got my footing again as you saw last week in my victory over the very impressive Paul Burchill. This week I've got my toughest task since returning to the NWA, I've got to cut down the redwood known as Mike Knox and outsmart that snake Jim Cornette. Everybody knows that I'm no stranger to taking down bigger men, and I plan on using my experience on Championship Wrestling to come out victorious!</em></p><p> </p><p> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> Championship Wrestling will be jammed packed with in-ring action this week as there are still three more matches on the card. There will be two three matches as Shane Helms has a warmup match before his rematch with Adam Pearce at Wrestling Showcase, and this week at the tapings he takes on the technically sound James Maritato. The other singles match sees the debut of El Mesias with Shelly Martinez in his corner as he takes on Trevor Murdock. Both of these men have found success around the world, and it will be a tossup as to who gets the three count this week.</p><p> </p><p> The match that has the biggest implications for this Saturday's big event is Colt Cabana facing off with Joey Ryan. Both of these men are one half of the duos that will do battle at Wrestling Showcase for the World's Tag Team Championship. Bob Holly will be in Colt Cabana's corner and Lance Hoyt will be there supporting Joey Ryan. Things could get out of control as we head towards the World's Title match with all four men trying to get an early advantage towards putting gold around their waists. Tune into Championship Wrestling to see this in-ring action that can't be equaled anywhere!</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Feel Free to Predict!</strong></span></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="31127" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Quick Picks<p> </p><p> Shelton Benjamin vs. Mark Jindrak</p><p> </p><p> Sean Waltman vs. Mike Knox w/ Jim Cornette</p><p> </p><p> Shane Helms vs. James Maritato</p><p> </p><p> Trevor Murdock vs. El Mesias w/ Shelly Martinez</p><p> </p><p> Colt Cabana w/ Bob Holly vs. Joey Ryan w/ Lance Hoyt</p></div></blockquote>

<p>Nice start, I´m not particularly good at real world stuff but lets see if I can get one or two predictions right:p.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shelton Benjamin</strong> vs. Mark Jindrak</p><p>

<em>Benjamin is number 1 contenter so he should win here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Sean Waltman vs. <strong>Mike Knox w/ Jim Cornette</strong></p><p>

<em>Knox has so far booked as unstobable monster I doubt he would drop a match here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shane Helms</strong> vs. James Maritato</p><p>

<em>Helms has storyline going so he´s more important right now.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Trevor Murdock</strong> vs. El Mesias w/ Shelly Martinez</p><p>

<em>To be honest I have zero idea who El Mesias is so I go with Murdock.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Colt Cabana w/ Bob Holly </strong>vs. Joey Ryan w/ Lance Hoyt </p><p>

<em>Cabana is former champ so I assume that he will go over a tag team guy.</em></p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Colt Cabana w/ Bob Holly vs. Joey Ryan w/ Lance Hoyt</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cabana’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Colt Cabana is joined by his tag team partner Bob Holly in this big matchup before the World Tag Team Title match this weekend against Ryan and Hoyt. Both men are going to be working extra hard in this match to build some momentum, something Cabana sorely needs after losing the World’s Heavyweight Title last month. Cabana is a legit singles performer, so this should be right up his alley, but we’ll have to wait and see how he does in tag action on Saturday night.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ryan’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Joey Ryan has become a big name in the Southwest and he also is looking to build momentum along side Lance Hoyt. Ryan hasn’t been as successful as Cabana in singles competition, but with big Lance Hoyt in his corner the duo could do very big things rebooting the NWA’s tag team division. Ryan will try to use his unique mix of speed and technical ability to take down Cabana in this one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

This match was very high paced and hard hitting with each man getting in some of their signature moves in the short match. They were both looking to get a pinfall victory to get momentum on their side for the title match Saturday. Joey Ryan went to hit the Moustache Ride but couldn’t and it was quickly reversed into the Colt .45 and Cabana picked up the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Colt Cabana</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Trevor Murdock vs. El Mesias w/ Shelly Martinez</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Murdock’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

This is Murdock’s first singles match in the NWA, and he is looking to impress. He was unable to get out of the first round of the tag team tournament, but he says that he’s going to show everybody that he doesn’t need a partner, he can shine on his own.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">El Mesias’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

El Mesias comes to us from Mexico. He’s appeared in the United States before as part of Wrestling Society X and under the name Judas Mesias in TNA. He has come to the NWA alongside his manager Shelly Martinez, and they claim they are going to be the most ruthless duo to ever step foot in the NWA ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Finish</span></strong></p><p>

Trevor Murdock put a beating on El Mesias, the big problem for Murdock was that it didn’t seem to hurt Mesias at all. He just stood their and stared into the face of Trevor as he hammered away on him, barely flinching at all as Shelly laughed at ringside. Then something snapped in Mesias and he went off on an offensive explosion. He capped it off with his finishing move, a leaping reverse STO he calls Straight to Hell.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Shane Helms vs. James Maritato</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Helms’ Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Shane Helms is currently embroiled in a bitter feud with Adam Pearce over a matter of respect. The two have gone back and forth since Helms debuted in the NWA, and they have a big rematch at Wrestling Showcase where Helms will try to avenge an earlier loss to Pearce. Tonight he gets a tough warmup match against James Maritato.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Maritato’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

James Maritato partnered with Shawn Spears in the tag title tournament, but they lost in the first round, now Maritato is trying to win some singles matches in the NWA. Tonight he faces an old foe, Shane Helms. The two have wrestled each other across America when Cruiserweight wrestling was big, but now they both wrestle in the NWA and promise to put on a good match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

These two men wrestled a great back and forth match, showing why they are two respected veterans in the wrestling industry. They had a great series of near falls with loads of two counts, but Helms struck with a Shining Wizard out of a rollup to put Maritato out for the three count.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Shane Helms</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Mike Knox and Jim Cornette made their way out for Knox’s match against Sean Waltman, which is up next. Of course Cornette had something to say before the bell rang.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jim Cornette</span></span></strong></p><p>

<em>You all have been witness the past several weeks to the destruction of several wrestlers here in the NWA, all at the hands of “The Wildman” Mike Knox. Mike is the biggest, baddest wrestler by a long shot here in the NWA, there is no man that can stand up to him. That rings true tonight as Mike will swat Sean Waltman away like the annoying fly that he is. I hope you all enjoy seeing the man you grew up watching get destroyed before your very eyes!</em></p><p> </p><p>

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/SeanWaltman.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/VSlogo.jpg</span><span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/MikeKnox.jpg</span> w/ <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/NWA/JimCornette.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Sean Waltman vs. Mike Knox w/ Jim Cornette</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Waltman’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Sean Waltman got a big victory last week against Paul Burchill, but he may have drawn the short straw tonight as he goes up against Jim Cornette’s monster Mike Knox. Waltman has great speed that will come to his advantage, but does he have the power to even do any damage to the seemingly unbeatable Mike Knox?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Knox’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Mike Knox has been on a roll since joining the NWA. His manager Jim Cornette has done all the talking, meaning all Knox has to do is hurt people. Cornette has unleashed Knox and made it known that he wants the World Heavyweight Championship. Tonight he has to go through Sean Waltman to take the next step towards that title though.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

This match was your typical cat and mouse type matchup. Most of the time Knox stalked Waltman around the ring, and he danced out of the way of danger and hit many stinging type moves hoping to wear down the big man. Knox got his hands on Waltman a few times and dealt out big damage, but nothing to finish the match. The end saw Waltman groggy and Knox charged for the Big Boot, but Waltman ducked under and rolled up a staggered Knox from behind and go the flash pinfall for the huge upset victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Sean Waltman</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

After the match Waltman celebrated in the ring as the crowd went crazy, excited to see him beat Mike Knox. It was very reminiscent of when he broke into the big time by beating Razor Ramon as the 1-2-3 Kid. This version didn’t have as happy of an ending though. As Waltman turned around he was met by the big boot that Knox tried hitting in the match. Knox looked furious as he forced Waltman to his feet and connected with not one, but two Knox Outs, leaving Waltman down and out as he and Cornette fumed as they walked towards the back.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Shelton Benjamin vs. Mark Jindrak</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Benjamin’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Shelton Benjamin is the number one contender to The Sheik’s World Heavyweight Championship. He gets his title shot this Saturday night, but first he has to go through another of NWA’s singles champions, the Heritage Champion Mark Jindrak. Benjamin has looked the strongest he ever has since he joined the NWA, and a win here would prime him for a shot at the World Title.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jindrak’s Backstory</span></strong></p><p>

Mark Jindrak won the Heritage Title a few weeks ago, but has made it known that it is not the title he wants, he wants the World Heavyweight Championship. If he were able to use his considerable skills and defeat the number one contender to The Sheik’s championship that would put him right in the mix to get a World Title shot against whoever walks out of Wrestling Showcase with the title around his waist.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finish</span></strong></p><p>

This was the best match that the NWA has put on in quite some time and gave hope to the fans that things are really turning around. The action was fast paced and back and forth, and it wasn’t hurt by the fact that two of the most athletic wrestlers in the world today were in it. Jindrak went to hit a move off the top rope onto Benjamin, but Shelton was playing possum and lept up to the top rope with Jindrak, then T-Boned him off the top and got the three count for the exhilarating victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Shelton Benjamin</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">
