Jay Chord

Being the son of the legend, Rip Chord, must bring a lot of pressure...just ask Jay Chord. A lot of people see him as a future star in this business. It seems like some of the hype has gone to his head. Jay Chord is good and he has no problem letting you know that he is. Although he is arrogant as the day is long, Chord does wrestle with the intensity that it takes to be great. Chord brings that intensity to Music City Wrestling come the end of February at Amplified. Chord will be wrestling "Super Ninja" Fumihiro Ota in a match that will be sure to excite the wrestling world. Will the technical veteran prevail or will Jay Chord and his attitude get the win?

MCW Amplified

Saturday, Week 4, February 2010

Live from Nashville Fairgrounds (South East)

Audience: 1,172

________________________________

We kick things off with the heavy metal sounds of Bloody Tampon and the crowd is ecstatic. The cheering is starting to shake the arena until the place falls into a sea of boos. The Music City Champion, "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith, makes his way to the ring with a mic...

Jack Griffith

Nashville...Nashville...Nashville...when will you ever learn? When will you ever learn some manners? Didn't your momma teach you it isn't polite to boo a guest? To boo your Music City Champion? Did you forget that last month I beat your precious RDJ and that Jap for this title? Of course you didn't! That is why you all are here. For me! Better yet, to see me whoop-up on Ricky Dale Johnson. Some people think Charlie Thatcher is the reason I have this belt...those people are wrong. I have this belt because I'm better than everyone in Music City Wrestling...

Just as he said that, Ricky Dale Johnson's music hits and the crowd is back to cheering again...

Ricky Dale Johnson

Everyone? You think you are better than everyone, huh, Jack? I beg to differ and I'm sure this Nashville crowd begs to differ! Now, about Ready to Rock, I don't know what to say. From the looks of it, one could think you and Charlie Thatcher are best buds nowadays. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked by Charlie's actions. Him and I were the best of friends, we were there for each other. Look what he did to me...look what you did to me, Charlie! If you have any guts you'd get your butt out here and tell me what is going through your head.

Jack Griffith

Lucky for you, Ricky, Thatcher isn't here tonight. All I can say is that from what he has told me, you deserve everything he has done to you. Now that is for you two to sort out, but you and I have business to tend to ourselves. Later tonight, we got a match and trust me, Ricky, it's not going to be pretty for you. You are going to witness firsthand that "Southern Justice" doesn't take nicely to your kind. So when we are in there, don't worry about Thatcher, worry about me!

Ricky Dale Johnson

Worry? The only thing I have to worry about is what color boots I'll be waring when I kick your butt! Griffith, trust me, I got your number! Tonight, I will not only beat you in the middle of that ring, but I'm going to make you wish you or Charlie Thatcher never had messed with Ricky Dale Johnson!

Thomas Morgan vs. Sgt. Bubba Lee West

  • "Trademark" Thomas Morgan's debut didn't go as well as he would have hoped. He was punished throughout the match by West.
  • Sgt. Bubba Lee West too it to Morgan all match, never letting-up. You could tell that the technical-sound, Morgan, couldn't even find a way out.
  • West had enough of toying with Morgan, and after an attempted comeback, West locked in the Recon Wrench for the win.

Sgt. Bubba Lee West def. Thomas Morgan via Submission at 11:23: 42

Brendan Idol vs. Hugh de Aske

  • Two of the finer, young talent in Music City Wrestling going head-to-head in this one. Hard to decide which one is finer in the ring.
  • Both of these men got in an equal amount of offense, but it may have been "Dread Pirate" Hugh de Aske who shined the brightest of the two.
  • de Aske had it all but won until Idol's girlfriend distracted Hugh until "The Teen Dream" rolled him up for the win.

Brendan Idol def. Hugh de Aske via Pin-fall at 14:57: 48

Stan Manna vs. Gregory Henn

  • "The Savant of Wrestling" has the task of facing Stan "The Man" Manna in his first match here in Music City Wrestling.
  • Stan Manna's girlfriend, Julie Forletta, made her presence known the whole match, but it wasn't enough for Stan to get an advantage.
  • Gregory Henn was able to out-think his opponent so much that Manna fell right into his own signature move, the Rockin' Roller.

Music City Tag Team Championship Match

The Island Boys vs. The Brave Ones vs. The Nation of Filth

  • The place erupted into cheers when it was announced that the mystery team was The Nation of Filth, but they soon turned to boos once they started acting obscene.
  • The match was filled with some intense action and a good amount of offense from both teams, especially The Nation of Filth.
  • It was obvious that the the experience that Stink and Grunt have with each other gave them the upper-hand in the match.
  • With that being said, The Brave Ones and The Island Boys both have youth and energy on their side. This made for a hard match for The Nation of Filth.
  • This match could have lasted all-day, but Grunt and Stink didn't let that happen. They got the title win after hitting the Dust Buster on both teams simultaneously.

Ford Gumble vs. The Big Problem

  • The small, experienced veteran takes on the young, powerful monster in this one. There is sure to be some action in this match.
  • Ford Gumble started the match playing to his strengths of speed and intelligence, but The Big Problem tilted it back to his strengths.
  • The Big Problem used his strength to bully the much older and smaller opponent. This didn't stop Ford Gumble to try and make a quick comeback.
  • Gumble started to go on the offensive, but it was for nothing because he was quickly laid back down with a big boot.
  • The Big Problem would proceed to lift up Gumble for his patented Chokeslam and then pin him for the quick win.

The Big Problem def. Ford Gumble via Pin-fall at 7:33: 43

Fumihiro Ota vs. Jay Chord

  • This MAW import knew what he was doing from the get-go. He had an answer for every maneuver that "Super Ninja" tried to pull.
  • Chord went on to dominate the match for the most part. He was able to get the match to go in his favor in almost every way possible.
  • Chord continued to make it known that he didn't come to play in this one. Then Chord's ugly trait showed up in this one.
  • Rip's son then started to get a little to big for his britches. Chord started to play to the crowd, and that is when Ota struck.
  • While Jay Chord was pandering to the audience, much to there dismay, Fumihiro Ota hit the Ninja Strike out-of-nowhere for the win.

Jack Griffith vs. Ricky Dale Johnson

  • You could tell from the very beginning that these two men wanted to rip each other apart in the middle of the ring, and they damn near did just that.
  • Ricky Dale Johnson started off the match on the offensive, or should I say, on the attack. He was just beating the Hell out of "Southern Justice".
  • Jack Griffith couldn't take much more so he got out of the ring for a breather. RDJ didn't care, and he brought the fight to him.
  • Both men were almost counted-out, but they made it in right before the 10-count.
  • Griffith could tell that victory was pretty far from his grasp so he resorted to cheating to get the advantage.
  • "Southern Justice" took the liberty of taking-off one of the turnbuckle covers, exposing steel. His intention was to throw RDJ into it.
  • This plan backfired, as RDJ took Griffith's head and continued to beat it into the exposed steel. That damage and a Southern Justice was enough for Rick Dale Johnson to get the win.

The Nation of Filth

The Nation of Filth has established themselves as one of the most dominant tag-teams of the past decade. With their age getting up there, Grunt and Stink faded-away for a while. Now, they are back and where else better to be than Music City Wrestling. The Nation of Filth made their debut at MCW Amplified and shocked the Nashville crowd. They were the surprise participant in the match for the Music City Tag Team Championship. Grunt and Stink went on to win that match over The Brave Ones and The Island Boys, becoming the first ever Music City Tag Team Champions. The Nation of Filth look to dominate Music City even more in the future. If there is one thing you can say about this team, it's that they don't mind getting their hands dirty.

At Amplified, Ricky Dale Johnson was able to defeat Jack Griffith in the main-event. Also, The Nation of Filth was a huge surprise and made their presence known by winning the Music City Tag Team Titles. With all that excitement leading into this month's show, Pushing the Tempo, there should be even more of the same. Something else all Music City fans should be keeping an eye on is Charlie Thatcher and his involvement with Ricky Dale Johnson and "Southern Justice"'s feud for the Music City Championship. It is still unknown why Thatcher has this animosity towards RDJ, but it is known that in someway Thatcher is alongside Jack Griffith. Maybe this month at Pushing the Tempo more light will be shined on this. One thing is for certain, Pushing the Tempo is sure to be as good as the shows before it, because there has already been some great match-ups announced.

With Ricky Dale Johnson defeating Jack Griffith at Amplified, it is evident that Johnson should be the number one contender for Griffith's title, but that isn't how Griffith sees it. He has made an ultimatum to Ricky Dale that if he can come-out of Pushing the Tempo not only victorious, but in one piece, that he will get his shot. Griffith was able to slither his way into making that match for Ricky Dale Johnson for the show. That is why it will be Ricky Dale Johnson going up against an opponent of Griffith's choosing. With that being said, Ricky was able to use his power in the company to make a match for "Southern Justice". In another match, it will be "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith taking on an opponent of Johnson's choosing. No one knows who either of these mystery opponents are, but they are guaranteed to be someone who will do damage to each man's rival.

Just a month after their victory at Amplified, The Nation of Filth will be putting their Music City Tag Team Titles on the line. It will be the champions, The Nation of Filth facing The Island Boys. Out of the two teams The Nation of Filth defeated last month, The Island Boys have been considered the best competition for the champs. Also, at Amplified, we saw The Big Problem destroy Ford Gumble. Gumble has begged for a rematch against the monster and he will get it. At Pushing the Tempo it will be The Big Problem versus Ford Gumble in a rematch. That match might be make-or-break for the older Ford Gumble. That match might also be the catapult that The Big Problem needs to push him to the next level in Music City Wrestling. These two matches should be intense and will really be a place to prove themselves for a few of these wrestlers.

Another match that should be exciting for the Nashville crowd is Fumihiro Ota against Gregory Henn. Both of these men are coming off victories at Amplified. "Super Ninja" was able to defeat the Mid Atlantic import, Jay Chord, after an intense fight. "The Savant of Wrestling" Gregory Henn battled it out with Music City's resident rocker, Stan "The Man" Manna in a great bout. These two men are poised to have a match that might prove if Ota is out of his prime or if Henn doesn't have what it takes just yet. Either way, whoever comes out on top will surely be seen as someone that can and will make an impact in Music City Wrestling. With these two men going at it, the back-and-forth action in this one could be the most intense this company has seen yet.

The rest of the card brings some other matches that will get Nashville on the edge of their seats or even out of them. In both of these guy's debut, Mark Smart and Johnny Heizenger will be going against Sgt. Bubba Lee West and Hugh de Aske in tag-action. The two youngsters are going to have their hands full against two guys that have made an immediate, and unexpected impact in Music City Wrestling. "The Teen Dream" Brendan Idol will be in action against Stan "The Man" Manna. This match might be one that will prove who deserves a better spot in Nashville. All of these matches should be great. So come on down to the Nashville Fairgrounds the last Saturday of the month for Pushing the Tempo. Music City Wrestling will bring the wrestling and music, you just bring yourself and it will be a great time!

UPDATE: After a week of losing the feel for this...maybe due to a little too much liquid medicating, I have got the feeling back. I didn't want to lose another dynasty before it really even got started so I should be doing some work on this soon. Also, the prediction are extremely appreciated. Lets me know who the people see as the better worker and it lets me know you guys care. Plus, I am keeping track of the prediction results for a possible prize involving this dynasty.

MCW Pushing the Tempo

Saturday, Week 4, March 2010

Live from Nashville Fairgrounds (South East)

Audience: 1,024

Hugh de Aske & Sgt. Bubba Lee West vs. Mark Smart & Johnny Heizenger

  • The two youngsters, Smart and Heizenger, make their Music City debut against two guys who are trying to break-out. This should be an intense match.
  • All was expected as both teams left it all out there. Smart and Heizenger proved that even with limited experience they can hang with the big boys.
  • Hang with them is all they did. They weren't able to pull the upset on them. de Aske drilled Smart with a devastating Cut-Throat Driver for the tag team win.

Brendan Idol vs. Stan Manna

  • Here are two guys with a lot in common. They both have bright futures in Music City Wrestling and they both have witches of girlfriends.
  • There could not have been an even more evenly matched bout between two guys on the roster. Their styles clashed as nicely as they could, which made for a back-and-forth contest.
  • The match went haywire when the women got involved. Manna got a little too distracted by the cat fight that it left Brendan Idol open to hit the Idolizer.

Music City Tag Team Championship Match

The Nation of Filth © vs. The Island Boys

  • The first title defense The Nation of Filth has is just month off of their title victory at Amplified. The young team of Apollo and Ekuma look intent and focused on getting those belts.
  • The Island Boys looked to do what they did last month and that is to use their physical condition to their advantage and try to outlast The Nation of Filth.
  • This strategy seemed to work until The Nation of Filth's experience took over. The Nation of Filth did just what they did last month, use their experience as a team to their advantage.
  • Grunt and Stink started to use years-and-years of camaraderie, which was too much for the younger team. The Nation of Filth toyed the crowd for a bit until they decided it was over.
  • The Nation of Filth successfully defended their Music City Tag Team Titles when they hit the Dust Buster on a defenseless Apollo.

The Nation of Filth def. The Brave Ones via Pin-fall at 10:38 to retain the Music City Tag Team Championship: 34

The Big Problem vs. Ford Gumble

  • The gritty, determined veteran wanted a rematch from last month and he got it. Gumble came into the match looking to prove that he is still on the top of his game.
  • The Big Problem did all that he could to prove that Gumble isn't. A lot of this match he did just that. He was able to dominate every facet of the fight.
  • Gumble started to look pathetic. It seemed like The Big Problem might be the man to not only demolish Ford Gumble, but maybe put him out of the business.
  • Then things got interesting. The Big Problem started to get a little too arrogant. He started to toy with Ford, not something you want to do with a veteran.
  • The Big Problem looked to put the match away with a Chokeslam, but Gumble countered with a Savate Kick for a surprising victory.

Fumihiro Ota vs. Gregory Henn

  • A technical match that would make you think the Stone's drew this one up.
  • Fumihiro brought his best, but with anything coming at Henn, he knows what it is. That is why he is called "The Savant of Wrestling".
  • Even though "Super Ninja" is the more refined technician, Gregory Henn made the mat his own in this one.
  • Henn not only had an answer for Ota's maneuvers, but also brought out a bag of tricks himself.
  • Although Henn shined in this one, Ota still got the best of him. Fumihiro was able to sneak away with a roll-up win that would make any Ninja proud.

"Southern Justice" Jack Griffith comes down to the ring ready for his match against his mystery opponent. He grabs a microphone and starts to vent...

Jack Griffith

Ricky Dale Johnson, I know why you're fascinated with me. I'm everything that you aren't, I have everything you don't. See, you may have beat me last month at Amplified, but it makes no difference to me. I'm not one that is quick to forget, but I am one that is quick to defend. That is why tonight I prove to you that I can beat the best you have to offer, and if you want any shot at my title, you got to be able to beat the best I have to offer. I already know that I can beat whoever you have conjured up, but the real question is can you beat the knife in your back? That's right, Ricky. That's right, Nashville. Tonight, your beloved Ricky Dale Johnson will be taking on the meanest son'bitch in the wrestling business. The guy who turned his back on that rotten potato of a man. Tonight it is RDJ against Charlie Thatcher!

One would know that the name of Charlie Thatcher coming out of "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith's mouth would bring out Ricky Dale Johnson.

Ricky Dale Johnson

Thank you! Truly, thank you, Jack! Do you know how bad I've been wanting to get my hands on Thatcher? Two months ago he screwed me out of that title you hold. Well tonight...tonight, Thatcher gets what's comin' to him. He might not have given me the answer why he did what he did yet...maybe in the middle of that ring tonight I can beat the words out of him. Not only do I get to make an example out of him, but I also get to cement myself as the contender of the Music City Championship. After tonight, Jack, you better be ready for the fight of your life because that title is mine whether you like it or not. Until then, you got yourself a fight for your life. Without further-a-do...

The crowd eagerly anticipates the mystery opponent for Jack Griffith. After a few seconds out comes...Tribal Warrior!

Jack Griffith vs. Tribal Warrior

  • For awhile, Jack Griffith just stood there yelling at Ricky Dale Johnson while RDJ laughed at Griffith. "Southern Justice" then swallowed his medicine and got to work.
  • The beginning of the match saw the two men get into a test of strength contest, which was pretty comical. Tribal Warrior damn near ripped Jack's arms off.
  • Jack Griffith then tried to avoid Tribal Warrior as much as possible. Getting Dewey Libertine to back-off Warrior so he could adjust his equipment.
  • Griffith wasn't able to avoid an devastating body splash. Tribal Warrior then went on to dominate "Southern Justice" for quite a while.
  • Then the match started to even out as both of the men started to get quite a bit of offense in each. Griffith would then try to go to his evil tactics.
  • Jack Griffith purposely threw Dewey in-front of an incoming attack then grabbed a chair. Déjà vu set when Warrior grabbed the chair from Griffith and smashed him with it.
  • The referee awoke immediately after and was able to count to three for Tribal Warrior's debut victory. The crowd then went wild.

Charlie Thatcher vs. Ricky Dale Johnson

  • Ricky Dale Johnson didn't wait until Thatcher got to the ring. That build up anger forced RDJ to attack Thatcher outside before the bell had even rang.
  • Dewey Libertine then had to pull Ricky Dale Johnson off of Charlie Thatcher, which was a tall task for the old referee. He sent RDJ into the ring until Charlie could fight.
  • Charlie Thatcher then took his time on the outside of the ring trying to piece himself together or just trying to dodge the intensity of Ricky Dale Johnson.
  • Thatcher finally stepped in the ring and was met with a spear and an impressive beat-down. Ricky Dale Johnson seemed like a man possessed.
  • Eventually, Ricky Dale Johnson let Thatcher get back to his feet. Thatcher then proceeded to try and get away from any physical confrontation.
  • Action started between the two on the outside. The two brawled until RDJ threw Thatcher back into the ring. Then RDJ proceeded to knock the giant down a few feet.
  • For a big man, Thatcher had to go to a poke of the eye. He then exited the ring with no intent on coming back. He was then showered by the Nashville crowd with garbage and boos.

Roster Addition

Tribal Warrior

Tribal Warrior made his surprise debut at Pushing the Tempo, defeating Music City Champion "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith. Warrior is known around the world for being one of, if not the most, powerful wrestlers. He is most known for his work with Java in Savage Fury. It seems for the time being that Tribal Warrior will be on his own, and that might be for the best. If he hasn't already proven it, Tribal Warrior has all the means to become a very successful singles competitor here in Music City Wrestling. His strength, his size, all seems to a lot for anyone to handle including Jack Griffith. The powerful veteran looks to make a mark here in Nashville, a mark that might be a little too big for this town.

The Beat Goes On is sure to be one of the best shows in Music City Wrestling's short history. Off the heels of quite possibly the best show yet, Pushing the Tempo, Nashville's hometown wrestling promotion has a lot in store for the month of May. Last month, we saw Ricky Dale Johnson prove his bid as the top contender for the Music City Championship with a win over his former best-friend, Charlie Thatcher. Also, we saw the Music City Champion himself, "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith get a surprise from Ricky Dale in the form of the savage that is Tribal Warrior. Tribal Warrior destroyed Jack Griffith in his debut match. The Beat Goes On's card should bring as much excitement, if not more.

The first ever defense in the history of the Music City Championship happens this month at The Beat Goes On. The whole town of Nashville is buzzing about this one as it will surely be a knockdown, drag-out brawl between the champion, Jack Griffith and the challenger, Ricky Dale Johnson. These two men have been going at it since the beginning of Music City Wrestling a few months ago. There has been a lot of tension between the two not only because of the title, but from the involvement of Charlie Thatcher in this feud. RDJ has done everything to earn a shot at Jack Griffith, including a victory over the champion. With that being said, "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith always has some tricks up his dirty sleeve and it is always possible that Charlie Thatcher will be involved. Any way you look at it, this match could be the best this company has seen thus far.

The Nation of Filth has taken this company by storm, making it obvious that they are the dominating force in tag action here in Music City Wrestling. They won the titles a couple months ago at Amplified and were able to successfully defends those titles last month against The Island Boys. This month it will be The Nation of Filth taking on The Brave Ones for the Music City Tag Team Titles. Will The Nation of Filth prove dominant once again? Another developing feud in Music City is between the young monster, The Big Problem and Ford Gumble. They have split a couple of matches over the past two months and at The Beat Goes on there will be a rubber-match between the two to decide who is the better man.

Gregory Henn has made an impact on the Nashville crowd with his persona of being "The Savant of Wrestling". "Mean" Jean Cattley has made an impact in MAW as being one of the toughest men to beat. At The Beat Goes On, it will be Gregory Henn going one-on-one with Jean Cattley. These men have battled in an Mid Atlantic ring with "Mean" Jean coming out on top. We will see at the end of the month if it will be any different inside a Music City ring. Last month, Tribal Warrior made an impressive debut with a victory over the Music City Champion, Jack Griffith. This month he has a formidable opponent once again. It will be Tribal Warrior up against "Super Ninja" Fumihiro Ota. Will Tribal Warrior continue to impress or will Ota continue his dominance of the Music City roster?

Other action includes "Dread Pirate" Hugh de Aske facing-off against "Trademark" Thomas Morgan. Hugh de Aske continues to impress the Nashville crowd with not-only his zany character but also his skills. This match will be one of de Aske's bigger tests. Also, "The Slick Pimp Daddy" Ernie Turner makes his long-dreaded return to the MCW ring against "The Teen Dream" Brendan Idol. Idol has a couple wins under his belt thanks to the help of his girlfriend, Kali Fornia. Regardless, Idol looks to impress the Nashville crowd once again. The Beat Goes On will prove to be a great show, something that has become the normal now for Music City Wrestling. So, come out the last Saturday in May for some intense wrestling action!

Hugh de Aske vs. Thomas Morgan

  • Right when these two men locked up, the crowd knew this match was going to be of the technical variety.
  • de Aske and "Trademark" went hold-for-hold in a back-and-forth fight that lasted more than half of the match. They really showcased their mat and submission talents.
  • "Dread Pirate" Hugh de Aske was able to prove once again that the pirate isn't someone to mess with. He got the advantage and didn't let up, hitting the Cut-Throat Drive for the win.

Ernie Turner vs. Brendan Idol

  • "The Slick Pimp Daddy" brought his swagger to the ring, but "The Teen Dream" brought his ability. Guess who came-out the winner of this one.
  • Ernie Turner played with the crowd all he could, but the amount of offense he got in didn't really let him do much. Idol owned this match for the most part.
  • Surprisingly, Kali Fornia didn't get involved in this match, granted she didn't need to. Idol knocked down Turner with The Idolizer for a quick victory.

Music City Tag Team Championship Match

The Nation of Filth © vs. The Brave Ones

  • Once again, The Nation of Filth's Music City Tag Team Titles were on the line, and this match wasn't as easy as the one at Pushing the Tempo.
  • Much to the delight of the Nashville crowd, The Brave Ones started out the match with a lot of intensity, able to get the upper-hand.
  • Things got intense as these two warriors wouldn't let up on either Grunt or Stink. They had people thinking that The Brave Ones have been a team for years.
  • Being the staple of the tag team champs, The Nation of Filth started to use their punk ways to get the advantage back in their favor for the match.
  • The Brave Ones were disoriented by constant cheating and the bullying behavior of the champs. The Nation of Filth cheated their way to a win, pinning Soaring Hawk.

Gregory Henn vs. Jean Cattley

  • Mid Atlantic's ring-general tried to take it to Music City's know-it-all as early as possible. He used everything he knows to put Henn in a bad position.
  • For the majority of the match, Henn had to fight his way back to even have a shot at beating "Mean' Jean. This was something he was able to do.
  • Someone must be sending Henn Mid Atlantic Wrestling tapes, because "The Savant of Wrestling" was able to reverse everything Cattley came at him with.
  • Gregory Henn would go-on to own the match in every way possible. He outworked Cattley and made everyone realize what a talent he is.
  • Henn was able to get the surprisingly impressive victory over Cattley, using Jean's Mood Swing to finish him off.

The Big Problem vs. Ford Gumble

  • Everyone in the place knew this wasn't going to be a wrestling match, but a fight. These guys only want to do one thing, and that is kick the crap out of the other man.
  • It sure didn't look pretty, but this brawl was sure getting people excited. There were more punches thrown than wrestling moves done.
  • You'd think that The Big Problem's strength and size would give him a nice boost in this predicament, not the case. Gumble looked like he has been in a few bar-brawls in his day.
  • They took the fight to the outside and used their surroundings to inflict pain on each-other. Eventually they got into the crowd and all Hell broke loose.
  • Dewey Libertine was forced to count both men out, leaving this match a draw. Both men didn't care as they brawled all the way around the building until they were broke up.

The Big Problem drew with Ford Gumble: 40

Tribal Warrior vs. Fumihiro Ota

  • "Super Ninja" meets savage and it was a good one. Not only did we get to see some technique from Ota, we got to see some power from Tribal Warrior.
  • You'd think the bigger and slower Tribal Warrior wouldn't be able to keep up with Ota, but Warrior did and he did well. He didn't let anything sneak by him the whole match.
  • The pure intensity and strength of Tribal Warrior seemed to be a little too much for Fumihiro at times, but he found an answer to it pretty quickly.
  • If there was one thing that you could pinpoint as the downfall for Tribal Warrior in this one, it'd have to be his lack of pacing himself throughout the match.
  • "Super Ninja" took full-advantage of a fatigued Tribal Warrior and made him pay. He wrestled him to sleep then pounced with the Ninja Strike for the win.

Music City Championship Match

Jack Griffith © vs. Ricky Dale Johnson

  • The crowd was loud and the wrestlers were excited to get at this one, maybe Ricky Dale Johnson a little more than "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith.
  • Ricky Dale Johnson used all his anger to get a quick hold on the tempo of the match. He took the fight straight to Jack Griffith and never let up.
  • This wasn't just a battle but a war. Both men knew that this match is the biggest of the young promotion's history. They showed why they are the main-event.
  • Things got really ugly when both champion and challenger got the crimson mask. Blood can put a man on a rampage and that's exactly what it did to both of them.
  • They didn't hold anything back and the crowd was loving it. High-impact move after high-impact move started to happen. These men were putting it all on the line.
  • Griffith and Johnson's blood and sweat covered the ring after an intense fight. Johnson got himself together and started to go to work. Then everyone's fear became reality...
  • Charlie Thatcher came out of the crowd as he did at Ready to Rock and nailed Ricky Dale Johnson with a boot to the skull. Dewey Libertine then had to ring the bell.

Ricky Dale Johnson def. Jack Griffith via Disqualification at 21:27: 63

Charlie Thatcher rolled out of the ring immediately and hightailed it out of the place, fearing a fight with a surely angered Ricky Dale Johnson. Jack Griffith, not knowing what happened, stumbled to the back. Ricky Dale Johnson came to and called for a microphone.

Ricky Dale Johnson

You've pissed me off one too many times, Charlie Thatcher! I don't know what I've done to you that would make you do the things you have done to me, but I have had enough! That title around Jack Griffith's waist should be mine, it should have been mine months ago, but because of you it isn't! Word's going around that next month there will be a tournament to crown the new contender for the Music City Championship. Something called the FTC Cup Challenge. I'm not sure what the "FTC" stands for...

The Crowd

F*CK TOMMY CORNELL! F*CK TOMMY CORNELL! F*CK TOMMY CORNELL!

Ricky Dale Johnson

I'm not too sure about that...but if you ask me, under that logic, it should be renamed to the FCT Cup Challenge, the "CT" standing for Charlie Thatcher. It "really" stands for "For the Championship", which is why I will win it. If I'm lucky I will get to face you Charlie Thatcher. If you're lucky you will walk away from that match alive! You better hope that I don't get my hands on you next month, Charlie, because not only will I beat you, I will make you pay tenfold! See you at the FTC Cup Challenge, you son of a bitch!

Things are really starting to heat up here in Music City Wrestling. Last month at The Beat Goes On, we saw more of the feud between Ricky Dale Johnson and Charlie Thatcher. That broken friendship has now turned into a heated rivalry, which might come to a conclusion at the FTC Cup Challenge. At The Beat Goes On, Ricky Dale Johnson was screwed out of the Music City Championship when Thatcher interfered, giving RDJ the DQ victory. The title didn't change hands, unfortunately. Ricky Dale made mention of a tournament to decide a new contender for the Music City Championship. The rumors have came to fruition and the tournament will happen.

There's been a little bit of controversy of why the name of the trophy on the line is called the "FTC Cup". Many believe it is named after obvious animosity between some people in the company and someone from a prestigious, West-Coast company. Those accusations are false... The "FTC" does stand for "For the Championship" as the winner will be granted a shot at the Music City Championship. It has been confirmed that the title shot earned can be used anyplace, anytime within a year. With that stipulation, the champion should be on their toes at all-times. The inaugural FTC Cup Challenge is planned to be great, making sure it is a spit in the face of someone out there...wait! I mean...it will make a mark as one of the more notable events in Music City Wrestling.

The participants that have been selected for the tournament are eight of the best and brightest stars that Music City can offer the Nashville crowd. There are some enticing matches that are planned and others that could possibly happen. Matches that some have been waiting for, performers and fans alike. First of all, we have two of the more experienced guys in the company facing each-other. It'll be Fumihiro Ota going against Ford Gumble, who has been at The Big Problem's throat for a while now. It's not sure if his head will be totally focused on Ota. In what should be an exciting match, Sgt. Bubba Lee West will go up-against Ricky Dale Johnson. RDJ made a bold prediction at the end of The Beat Goes On that he will win the tournament. It is always hard to bet against Ricky Dale Johnson, but on the other side we have some great competitors as well.

Speaking of Ricky Dale Johnson, other than that prediction he made, he said he hoped he could get his hands on Charlie Thatcher in the tournament. It looks like that is a possibility as it's Charlie Thatcher against "The Savant of Wrestling" Gregory Henn in first-round action. The Big Problem will be in the tournament against Tribal Warrior. That match should be intense with the two most powerful men in Nashville go head-to-head. The tournament should be great with some matches that could mean a change of landscape here in Music City Wrestling.

The tournament isn't the only action we are going to see as it will be a couple of Mid Atlantic imports challenging for the Music City Tag Team Titles. The Atlantic Connection, consisting of Riley McManus and Curtis Jenkins, will see if they have what it takes to beat The Nation of Filth. Is it possible that the Music City Wrestling Tag Team Titles could be heading to MAW? That question and others like "Will Ricky Dale Johnson versus Charlie Thatcher happen again, but this time for real?" and "Will we see Ford Gumble and The Big Problem tear each-other apart once more?" One thing is certain, the FTC Cup Challenge is going to be an intense showcase so you better get tickets as soon as possible!
