North of the Border Pro Wrestling: Dan Stone and the Stone Family

Recommended Posts

Some more tips:

Keep your 1-2 angles at 6 minutes. Base them on overness when using any ME beside Decolt. You can use Hayes in Menace based ones as well.

Match times either all need to be changed to 5 minutes for promotion settings or you need to run longer matches. that's what is killing your match ratings. Plan on 20+ minute Main Events for TV and longer for PPVs.

I've found DSJ, Jeremy, McFly, and Angel in singles matches can use the "Call in Ring" note. Anyone else should use script. I've tried Bloodstone vs DeColt with Call in Ring and gotten negative notes every time.

Clean finishes are a must.

DSJ/Jeremy have 100 tag experience and Can-Am Blondes are high as well. You can use this to have higher score tag matches with these two teams, even if they are facing less experienced teams.

I love NOTBPW and have been working on a dynasty for them. Keep up the good work. Once you get the hang of it, you can put out 80+ rated shows without burning up all of your potential ME matches.

Also see if you can sign some refs with 75+ in reffing. This will help match grades as well.

Thanks, I may have picked the wrong promotion to do what I want to do with this. I think the angles are what makes this appealing and NOTBPW fans seem to want all wrestling which I think makes it hard for me to be creative. Still new to this. I need to decide if I want to look at another promotion or keep going with NOTBPW.

Again, thanks for the input.

Unfortunately, NOTBPW is not a good promotion if you want to use angles. If you do a lot of changing of the promotion style, it can become more angle friendly, but by default you can do 10-15 minutes of angles.

If you're looking for a more angle based promotion, SWF is the big boy with USPW being #2 I think.

You could always change the match ratio from 90 to 80, I do this as NOTBPW wanting to evolve a but as Dan Sr. near handing over the reigns? TCW is okay for angles but I think you would be also best pushing them down from 90% to 80% (IIRC) but of course USPW is always a favourite. Have you thought about CGC?

I didn't start as an owner. I am not sure how to change the ratio not being the owner. I have learned so much now since I started. I definitely want to run angles whether it is NOTBPW or elsewhere.

They allowed me to do it by going into product under in the control room under "business" -> "Product" Then put it down. Dan Stone didn't block me from doing it, has he blocked you from doing it?

Hmmm. Still low match times and the DQ finish probably didn't help. Here is the first NOTBPW card I ran in a new game:

Brown/Haynes over Frost/Watson -9:14 - 59

Fighting Irish over Canadian Dragon and Erik Strong - 6:45 - 49

Can-Am Blondes over Mighty Cavanaugh/Lord James King - 10:52 -72

Mcfly over Hash - 14:14 - 78

DeColt over Westybrook - 15:51 - 68 (Bad Chemistry)

Angle (7 mins) - DeColt and Hayes have a faceoff (84)

Hayes over Maverick - 14:36 - 71

DSJ/Jeremy over Bloodstone/Angel - 26:46 - 93

Final show score:86

Not the greatest card in the world, but it had fairly lengthy matches and a killer Main Event. Agents notes I typically use are:Victor, Decisive Win, Call in Ring/Script (depending on the match), Slow Build (if over 20 mins long), Work the Crowd(usually for the opening match)

Hope that helps. I don't claim to have the perfect template, but that should give you something to work off of.

Then again, if you're enjoying your dynasty then ignore all of it. :)

Actually, I write my shows a little in advance. I have one more show and the PPV already written before I made the changes. Have not run a new show since I made the change so this episode, the next one and the PPV were not reflective of that.

Thanks again for your help and input on this. I have some storylines running around in my head that I hope can take off by the time we get to the third PPV in April.

Gives people time to catch up and so there is not so much to read at one time. No since in posting a bunch of shows if people have not had a chance to read previous shows. It is somewhat about views because if no one is viewing, then I am wasting my time posting. I don't get where you are coming from. Follow if you like and don't follow if that bothers you.

Hopefully, others understand my reason for waiting for views to post new episodes and are not as easily offended. I enjoy doing this and look forward to improving as I go.

If your writing a dynasty do it for yourself don't try to please your readers because if you just do it for the sake of praise then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

I agree with Rathen though (Although I like this dynasty because there aren't to many NOTBPW dynasties on the boards) but waiting until you get a specific number of views before posting something isn't a smart idea. Lets say you have a big show and you wait to post it until you get an x ammount of views and then you never get the views you want and your dynasty ends because the show is never posted.

To me this takes control away from you, you are basically saying if you view this x ammount of times then I will post the next thing which doesn't work because then you are letting your readers dictate how you do things in your dynasty. The bottom line the dynasty is yours and you should do what you want but this is the one thing that I don't think is a good idea.

You guys are blowing this way out of proportion. Let's move on. If you guys have constructive criticism, tips or ideas for making the content of the dynasty better, I welcome the input. This stuff about the views is ridiculous to me. Please don't clutter this up for people viewing with something so meaningless. It is boring and if that is all someone has to add, then I don't care to hear from you. I appreciate those of you who follow and offer tips, ideas and constructive criticism about content.

-Dan Stone Sr has told his workers that the first two months and the first couple of PPV’s will not be what everyone will come to expect in the future. He has stated that they are running the tapings and the PPV’s anyway because there is some demand and it would help NOTBPW financially. He expects things to be much further along by the time the April PPV , Super Slam arrives. He also wants to add more baby face wrestlers to the roster.

-SWF is rumored to be turning top heel, Brandon James, to a face very soon

-A rivalry in TCW between Brian Vessey and American Buffalo has sprung up recently. The two aren’t even speaking to each other. Insiders say money is at the root of the conflict.

-NOTBPW Championship Wrestling, Episode 4, did a 1.24 rating, slowly climbing from a 1.14 the previous week

-Southern Comfort are the new Tag Team Champions in RIPW

I was enjoying this, but nevermind it now. My "clutter" ends here!

WOW! GOOD! GET OVER YOURSELF! I have already wasted 3 or 4 minutes of my life responding to imbecilic statements by you. You obviously have nothing better to do than to get offended over the silly view issue. Actually, you are a hypocrite because you say in your own thread that your diary would likely not be alive if not for the followers or "views", so I guess it is not all about me or you, but about the people following after all?

You made multiple comments about doing this because of your followers. I am not trying to rack up views or posts, which I assume is what you are implying? I simply want to know that their is enough activity for this to validate my time, plus it gets me pumped knowing that someone might be waiting for the next episode. It is that simple.

I said I want to hear about content, not that you have a problem with something so silly as the post about views. That is so inconsequential. If that is all you had to add or criticize, quit reading this thread or just don't post in it. You said it turned you off, yet you keep checking back. Just stay away if you are that bothered because I might do it again very soon and I don't want to overwhelm you with such offensive actions. I will some how try to go on without your great wisdom and input you have added so far.

Maybe someone else on these boards care what YOU have to say but I do not. "Taker" added his thoughts but he did it respectfully and did not come off obnoxious or offended. I am not as "turned off" by your opinion as I was in your overly dramatic expression of it. So don't follow, I will be alright. Just keep to your word and stop following. That being said, you probably will not read this.

Episode 5 should be up today or tomorrow. I have already started writing it. I was curious......was thinking of running a special show, a one time event, where the young talent is teamed up with a veteran mentor in an evening of tag matches. It would be a special episode or PPV.

Do you think this pairing a group of young up and comers with some proven vets for a night will help the youngsters momentum?

I think I will likely have to stop worrying about the show grade for a couple months in order to try and show case some of the youngsters to get them some momentum. Any thoughts?
