dudeamis Posted July 1, 2011 Share Posted July 1, 2011 Okay after getting a few short games under my belt, I think I've finally got a handle on 2010. So here is the official restart of my World Class game. As you all know the mid to late 80s was a time of massive change for the world of professional wrestling, especially in America. The WWF was buying up all the top talent, had become a worldwide force instead of a regional member of the NWA and the NWA itself was falling apart. One of its biggest partners World Class Championship Wrestling left in 1986. But this was perhaps just one of many big mistakes Fritz Von Erich, the owner of WCCW would make that would edge his company ever closer to the end. Realizing that the wrestling world had changed, and was leaving him behind, Fritz made a sudden and unexpected move, he sold his company to Dylan Griffith (name changed to protect my innocence), a millionaire who had both an interest to get into the business and a love for it as well. Dylan reassured Fritz that while the renamed World Class Wrestling Association would see some heavy changes, his sons, the biggest stars of the company had nothing to fear, and would continue to be the focus of the organization. Dylan choose World Class for a few reasons, first, it had a huge and loyal fan base in the mid south states. Second it had very popular local stars and one of the most exciting men of the era, the eldest Von Erich brothers and Bruiser Brody. However after those two the talent drops off, sure there are future breakout stars in Jim Hellwig and Mark Calaway, and old time greats like Abdullah, but after that there is nobody of note. So Dylan decided to make some cuts The World Class Wrestling Association has ended the contracts of several wrestlers, including: Al Perez Bobby Fulton Lanny Kean Eli the Eliminator Frankie Lancaster Jack Victory Jeep Swenson John Tatum Fabulous Lance Matt Borne Mike Bond Mike Davis Scott Casey Shaun Simpson Spike Huber Steve Dane Steve Simpson Bob Bradley Tommy Lane WCWA making a major change to it's schedule! World Class Wrestling Association has announced that it will share wrestlers with: Central States Wrestling, Continental Wrestling Association, Jim Crockett Promotions, All Japan Pro Wrestling and Stampede Wrestling Calgary. I also declared war with UWF to get some of those potential superstars like Sting and Sid and more importantly current greats like Ted Dibiase and Terry Gordy. That Bruiser Brody is the dominate force in World Class Rasslin, that I can beat anybody in this business, and Kevin that means you too. I want a title match tomorrow night and if you've got a problem with that, then maybe I've got a problem with you! Kevin - Bruiser Brody you want a shot, you've got a shot, because a Von Erich doesn't stand down from nobody, not even you. (88) Overall Rating: 79 Overall This was a rather successful show, Bruiser was the MVP being in both the highest rated match and angle. He's the kind of guy that can carry a promotion. I've been all around the world too fighting and bleeding and tonight I'm going to fight and Kevin Von Erich is going to bleed! Kevin seemingly unaware of Nord's interfernece took advantage and retained his title. Overall Rating: 81 Another great show, With Bruiser again taking home the MVP. Funny seeing all those AWA guys involved (and turning in better matches for you than they do for the actual AWA). With Bockwinkle there sort of defending the AWA title (which you could always add to the title base), is there a chance we'll see a title vs title match -- and maybe a different outcome than the bloody Super Clash match. Missy Hyatt, jumped on the ring apron, getting the attention of both the ref and Brody, who layed a big kiss on her, resulting in her slapping the madman and allowing Dibiase to roll him up for the win. Match Notes: Steve Williams was the aggressor for most of the match and Eaton became visibly frustrated when he couldn't get an advantage over Williams, eventually he just took his title and left, leaving Williams very angry in the ring. However Kevin slipped out of a belly to back suplex and hit one of his own before climbing the top rope and getting the win. During the match, Dibiase came down to ringside and took a spot at the announcer's table where he had some pretty strong chemistry with Lance Russel.
