Although the company did manage to establish itself as a thorn in the SWF's side, it never really looked like taking over as the undisputed number one promotion. In late 2004 the ownership of the company passed to a group of investors led by legendary wrestler Tommy Cornell; realising that fighting SWF at their own game was doomed to failure, he began the process of rebuilding TCW as a more traditional wrestling promotion, putting more emphasis on quality wrestling and athletic ability, in essence creating an "anti-SWF" with which to fight them. - Pro Wrestling Hitz TCW, TCW.COM and Total Championship Wrestling are property of Total Championship Wrestling, Inc. a Los Angeles, California based company with satellite offices in London, England and Tokyo, Japan. Ramaeno
Hey guys thank you! Appreciate the compliment on my layout, 20L. Steesh - hey, thanks man! Oh, if you only knew how long it took to put together! I have tons and tons of them to put out here. Long story short, the greatest pro wrestling CONSOLE game of all time has to be, in my opinion anyway, the Fire Pro Wrestling series. 500 slots available for custom wrestlers. You can make custom logos, custom rings, custom referees. It's fairly incredible. When I do dynasties I always try to figure out unique things I can add or use and so I created dozens and dozens perhaps hundreds of Cornell verse characters in Fire Pro Wrestling with hopes to use images and perhaps even footage to add some flavor to my dynasty. Without giving too much away, I think the next piece of my story here is going to be an "issue" of TCW magazine and it's gonna feature a bunch of color photos from the Rocky/Cornell match. The color photos are how the pics are naturally, I just tweaked them to be black and white to go for the newspaper feel. So far what I've got up the referee I created there thats supposed to be Sam Sparrow. And the pics are shots from Rocky Golden/Tommy Cornell Hotter Than Hell match and Joshua Taylor Rick Law match with the outside interference from Koshiro Ino there hitting Rick with a steel chair! Thanks for reading and checking out my stuff! I appreciate it alot!
Ramaeno
Yes Jaysin you got it. Jaysin on a side note... I made a huge huge huge Fire Pro Wrestling mod. I used nothing but Fire Pro Wrestling pics for workers. I got up to something like 700 or 800. It was insane. If you google search Gino Gambino or Total Fire Pro Wrestling maybe you can get some info on it. I know that there is a post out there where I put out a huge list of the translations I used for the mod. That mod took almost a year to make but nobody really tried it out and the few who did said it was too hard. It was a long time ago. I think I made it for TEW2K7. There was a guy though, a GDS forum member who was really really into it and would write me about it even years later I think hes the only person who may still have the working mod and the 700+ pics of workers and logos. I'll see if I can find him cause all the data was on an old CPU when I lived in PA years ago so I don't have it anymore but it was real crazy because I did the mod when Fire Pro Returns was still an import the US version hadn't come out yet and I had no clue it was ever gonna come out and so I had to dig through the internet to find pics of workers. If Fire Pro Returns wouldve been out then maybe what took a year to make wouldve taken like 2 months. LOL, i can't believe in retrospect how many hours and months I spent making that mod. (+12 Full Color High Def. Action Photo Spread!!!) Cover Story by: Shaun MacArthur O`Keagan http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) And there they are. In what had to have been the most anticipated matchup of the year, reigning Champion and TCW kingpin Tommy Cornell faced for the first time ever in singles competition the up and coming Rocky Golden before a sold out crowd of 10,000 at the V. Thompson Center in Los Angeles. The Champion most would say is still in the prime of his career and entering the bout he was unquestionably in the best shape of his career having appeared at the pre-fight weigh in tipping the scale at a lean and muscular 235 pounds. On the other hand, the challenger, many would say is reaching desperately to grab ahold of his prime, still perhaps a year or two away from standing knee deep in what would certainly be the best years of his career mentally, physically and if the success and potential is to be where most predict, financially as well. For 15 minutes, however, Rocky Golden appeared to be in his prime, and that was what counted. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC7.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC5.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC2.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC10.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) The year had thus far been exceptional for both athletes. Tommy Cornell came into the fight having had month after month of commanding performance after commanding performance as champion. Much of the years gossip had followed him as well, but that was only natural for the five time champion. Many insiders favored Ricky Dale Johnson or BLZ Bubb to pose the biggest threat to the champion this year. Whispers included Rocky Golden in those conversations and truth be told, the young Golden certainly has held his own over the years but no one expected his popularity among the fans and the championship committee to skyrocket as it has in the past two months. Indeed there was much worry that Rockys handlers may've signed him into this fight far too quickly but Rocky seemed confidant at every turn leaving many to say, "why not?" Particularly impressive was his run as one half of the tag team champions alongside almost equally as promising Japanese import Koshiro Ino. Coming into the main event at Hotter Than Hell 2009 there was a general consensus that the champion may not have had as large an edge as many assumed earlier in the year when talks of a Golden/Rocky title bout were being muttered by the various promoters and reporters. Then the worst thing that could've happened save an injury, to Rocky Golden, did. And it happened less than a week before the title fight. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC1.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC6.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC3.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC4.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) Wrestling season is year round. That is one of the main things that sets it apart from the rest of sports. This can often lead to scheduling issues and such was the case less than a week before Hotter Than Hell 2009. Tommy Cornell made his optional title defense two months before at June's Excessive Force PPV event. With the window of time closing on Tommy and having used his optional title defense he had to meet top contender as recognized by the TCW Championship Committee. This man was Rocky Golden whom earned the position atop the rankings for his string of dominant victories both in singles and tag team competition. The ink HAD to dry for a Golden/Cornell showdown on the date of Sunday, Week 4, September 2010. It had to. Unfortunately for Rocky, whom signed the title fight contract while still possessing one half of the tag team championship, Rocky had his own title scheduling issues and thus he and partner Koshiro Ino were forced into an immediate title defense be it optional or mandatory. Rocky and Ino, certainly fighting tag team champions elected for the mandatory and thus at TCW Total Wrestling several days before the Pay Per View, TCW Tag Team Champions Rocky Golden and Koshiro Ino faced number 1 contenders The New Wave, Scout and Guide. The rushed bout ended horribly for Golden whom watched helplessly as his partner, Koshiro Ino was pinned to the mat. At the time, Golden was unaware that as he was tied up with both the referee and The New Wave in the New Wave's corner, ex-Ino partner Rick Law had come to ringside, battering Koshiro Ino with his nightstick. The New Wave won the titles and Rocky Golden went into Hotter Than Hell no longer one half of the tag team champions and certainly mentally hampered by the title loss. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC8.jpghttp://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC9.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) Tipping the scale at the pre-fight weigh in at a career high 280 pounds, some suggested Rocky Golden may have put on too much muscle for the fight against Cornell and perhaps the combination of youth and slowness would enable Cornell to quickly take apart the challenger. As we've seen in the past, you've got to have that rare perfect blend of timing, speed and strength to stand a chance against Cornell whom in effect is the total package of strength and speed but is also quite an adept counter-wrestler. Cornell offered little at the weigh in other than a few confident predictions of victory. Rocky was equally as quiet. At the sound of the bell, the anticipation was high. The level of popularity that Rocky has achieved in months has put him up there with the likes of Ricky Dale Johnson. Dare I say, perhaps even more. Chants of Rocky were in abundance and it looked as though Cornell had aged fifty years in those first few minutes. Cornell seemingly gave Rocky control of the beginning of the bout. Foolishly getting creamed by a Rocky Golden shoulder block as if he could've taken the larger and more muscular Rocky off his feet in that shoulder to shoulder clash. At every turn Rocky met Cornell whom never seemed a slow starter so Rockys fast success with surprising lariats, clotheslines, quick slams certainly had many wondering and even the wildest of skeptics had to be thinking an under-5 minute knock out victory may have been in store. But Tommy Cornell isn't argued as the greatest TCW champion of all time for no reason. While the sport is known for it's surprises and certainly shocking victories make up a huge corridor in the building of wrestling lore, Tommy Cornell would not succumb to the early onslaught from Rocky Golden and slowly began picking off the younger Rocky's mistakes. He turned clotheslines into arm drags, armbars and wristlocks. He turned grapples into firemans carries and at one point had exhausted Rocky Golden to the point of putting him atop the turnbuckle and coming off the top rope with an incredible top rope ace-crusher. This was almost the climax of the match as Rocky Golden barely popped up his shoulder before the three count. Following this Tommy Cornell slapped on a dragon sleeper variation that had Rocky howling in pain. The hold must've been on for well over five minutes and shockingly Rocky would not submit. Suplexes and piledrivers that would probably end the career of a rookie wrestler were softening Rocky up for the end, and then, as has become one of Tommy Cornells more reliable set up moves, Cornell ascended the top rope looking for that sweet top rope roaring elbow drop. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC12.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) Lifelessly Rocky Golden lay across the canvas. The crowd held its breath and Tommy Cornell took flight. Rocky Golden, with great presence of mind spun out of the way as though he'd been playing possum the entire time! Springing to his feet and pointing at his fans who erupted in applause, Rocky began making motions for his fearsome Rack. Cornell was clutching his elbow in pain. A mix of pain and confusion covered the English World Champions face. Rocky Golden sized up Cornell whom began to make it to his feet. An uncharacteristic wild, desperation swing from Cornell put him in the perfect position to be seized into Rocky Golden's Rack. That would be it. As I sat and watched history be made, I made a note to myself. I made a note, as Rocky Golden held Tommy Cornell in that excruciating Rack. The note was: tell TCW Magazine readers that the crowd was louder than any live crowd I'd ever heard before. And it is true. The crowd was so loud you could barely hear the bell ring to signal the end. At Fifteen minutes and nine seconds, Rocky Golden won the TCW World Heavyweight Championship. Surviving extreme pressure in the ring, Rocky Golden needed to be cooler than Hell to survive Hotter Than Hell 2009. Rocky Golden not only survived, he thrived. And made history. TCW Hotter Than Hell will go down in history as the night that Rocky had the Eye of the Tiger. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWHTH09RVC11.jpg (Liam McAllistar/TCW Magazine) ____________________________________________

Rathen4
This board has always cried out for a diary supplemented by Smackdown vs Raw (I believe Marcel tried it once) or another game, and this is just perfect. Surprised to see the main event just run for 19 minutes though! Got me on board for this, superb presentation.

Ramaeno
(SPOILER ALERT! The following article may contain spoilers for the storyline. future storyline and match results may easily be determined if you read this article. I'd say the overall level of importance of the match/storyline that may get spoiled in the grand scheme of things is like level 2 out of 10, nevertheless if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read this article.) Monday Week 2 September 2009 http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/SquaredCircle1.gif http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/SquaredCircle2.gif http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCWRIP.jpg TCW, R.I.P? Cover Story By: William Cunning Total Championship Wrestling appears to be in financial peril. The company may very well be out of business by the end of the year. That means if you go onto Eastbay.com and see "AUTHENTIC TCW WRESTLING RING FOR SALE" the odds are, it really will be an authentic TCW ring for sale. The Company, apparently may even be having trouble affording its arena rental fees. Things are so bad that one employee speaking on condition of anonymity said, "it's the first time in my professional life that I've begun to wonder if my paychecks are going to bounce?" Things are bad, folks. The wrestling business is in trouble. Certainly those at Eisen-Tower in New England are happy but they shouldn't be. Competition is good for business. If TCW goes down, that'll make it the second major professional wrestling company in the world to go under in this decade. Lest we forget the fate of DAVE. But the fate of TCW is not quite the same as DAVE. Some would say DAVE never had a chance. TCW DID. and it got close, on many occassions. Say what you will about the JK Stallings era, the bottom line is that man was twice the business man Tommy Cornell could ever be. Too bad Tommy Cornell had twice the cajones Stallings never had and never will. The truth is, that wasn't mere wrestling storyline playing out at last weeks TCW Total Wrestling. Jennifer Cornell came to the ring to announce Cornell's hiatus because Cornell IS taking a hiatus and from what I understand, it may last a long time. Hope that it does because if it does that means he's getting things done. YOU DO NOT want to see him back anytime soon because odds are it'll be to headline a final TCW card if he's back anytime in the next month or two. From what I understand the reason the bleeding has gone unnoticed for so long has been a direct result of bad booking, poor business decisions and simply a matter of nobody in the financial departments at TCW headquarters letting Cornell know the truth. An insider told me, "Tommy did his due diligence as an owner. He' call financial every week and every week they'd say the checks are in the mail, everybodies getting paid. everything is okay and Tommy would hang up. As soon as financial hung up with Tommy they'd go back to freaking out." Apparently the reason Cornell found out things were so bad is when he decided, to the shock of all the legal and financial honchos that were hiding things from him, to personally undertake the renegotiation of BLZ Bubb's contract. Tommy Cornell apparently called up and told financial and legal that he was taking the negotiations on himself. Well, financial and legal couldn't have that because they knew the minute he started to look at the books he'd know they were lying to him for a long time. They tried hard to get him not to, but every time they'd try to tell him not to get into the negotiations, he grew suspicious. Several key people in those departments resigned, knowing it was too late for them. Cornell would call BLZ Bubb's representation, specifically his agent, gave him numbers, the agent liked the numbers but would call Tommy back and say, "but you guys can't do it?" after four different occassions of that specific back and forth, Tommy finally went to the offices and said, "why can't we do it?" and that is when he found out the truth. Cornell went heavy hearted to BLZ Bubb personally, told him he'd do anything to keep him with the company but that he couldn't look Bubb in the eye, wrestler to wrestler and ask him to stay knowing he could make much much more money elsewhere. As I have been told, Bubb has since inked a letter of intent to join another major wrestling company though I have not been able to confirm which one. I know it's a major, so take your pick. SWF, USPW, BHOTWG or PHGW. I'd says Bubb is going to the Orient but that's just a guess. Usually when a wrestler leaves a company, he goes out quietly, goes out putting over a youngster or you just don't hear anything about him or from him until you see him on a competitions show. Apparently Cornell feels so embarassed about what happened during the negotiations, he's insisting on giving BLZ Bubb top notch treatment on the way out and thus the reason Bubb is going to headline against Rocky Golden in Golden's first title defense. This isn't good, kiddies, not at all. Cornell could be gone a long time. My sources tell me his first stop on the TCW money collection tour is TCW's office in Japan. I've been told the company may shut down it's Tokyo headquarters. It's not a guaranteed thing at this point though. Next will be a stop with some major money people in Cornells native England. Wish him luck. I sure do.
