I'll put together a proper tutorial for how to do it some stage soon, but if you want to play around with it, what you need to do is use the <strong>iframe</strong> embed code from youtube, switch over to the HTML view of the FictionPlus text editor, and paste the code into that.<br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-size: 24px;">T</span>hat should give you something like the above. Of course, nothing being simple, you'll most likely discover that the video will disappear if you try to re-edit a text element with a video in it. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, depending how you look at it), it seems as though HTML code is only allowed in some of the forums. Mafia and this Dynasty section are the two I know of. If you want to be able to post FictionPlus stuff in unsupported forums you'd need to ask the forum moderators

Ah okay. I guess that does make sense then. There's most likely some setting to expand the amount of characters allowed in the text box editor, however I suspect that it wouldn't necessarily give you the result you're hoping for (and might even give you some strange looking mutations of your originally exported html).

 

Reason being that would be like taking a bunch of stuff which was carefully laid out across 10 meters, and then putting all of that inside of a 6 meter wide box -- things would probably get squashed together in unpredictable ways

 

It could actually create some interesting mirror reflecting a mirror kind of effect now I think about it... that's if the editor didn't strip most of the information out of it beforehand anyway

I want to thank crayon again for this awesome tool; I think it's really allowed me to find my stride as a dynasty writer here on the forums. I am, finally, about to post "Crossing A New Line" in my diary. . . and I don't think, across this or any of the other diaries, that I've ever been as proud of a show as this one.

That's pretty handy info there. Especially the video embedding. I would have thought that the editor would have done something funny with the code that way, but I'm glad to see myself proven wrong Should make embedding videos much easier
