In the end, it was Orton using his cowbell on JYD's ribs and back while the referee was knocked out that ended the match. Orton made a quick cover at that point and the referee recovered in time to count: 1 -- 2 -- 3!] Winner: 'Cowboy' Bob Orton (Via Pinfall @ 8:17) Match Rating: B- http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg Match #6 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/rickysteamboat2.jpg Non Title Ole Anderson vs. Ricky Steamboat [Our main event and this is a great one as two top wrestlers battle. In the beginning of the bout, both men accused the other of making the attack on Ric Flair. That added a little extra heat into the match. The match was an open match that showed the brawling skills of Ole Anderson against the technical and flying work of Ricky Steamboat. For several minutes during the bout, Ole Anderson was in control. But the fans rallied Steamboat back into the match and it went back and forth until around the ten minute mark when the referee was taken out with a double clothesline by Steamboat and Anderson. As everyone lay on the mat, Ric Flair came running from the back! The crowd popped at the NWA World Heavyweight Champion coming out! Both Anderson and Steamboat slowly start to get to their feet as Ric Flair comes into the ring. Flair stands between the two of them and then smiles, turning to exit the ring. The frowns and scared expressions of Ric Flair and Ole Anderson turn to smiles! They slide in the ring and shake hands with the Road Warriors! Could it be? Hawk and Animal pick up the United States Heavyweight Champion and toss him out of the ring like yesterday's garbage. Ritchardo
Wow! I was totally wrong footed there! I saw the Flair turn coming a mile off although I thought it would be for Ole to snatch the US title at the PPV with a few hints that the turn might come the other way... The Road Warriors though caught me totally off guard - again even when they came down to the ring I thought you'd gone with a Horsemen v Road Warriors Main Event at Havoc... what a show! Road Warriors vs. Dynamic Dudes Comment: So the freshly turned Warriors are going to drop to Johnny Ace & Dean Douglas? No. No, they're not. 10 Man Battle Royal, Winner Faces Ric Flair At Halloween Havoc For The NWA World Heavyweight Title: Junkyard Dog, Sting, Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert, Mike Rotundo, Kevin Sullivan, Terry Funk, Lex Luger and Dick Murdoch Comment: Sting sticks out like a sore thumb in this match as a credible top line face... but surely it's too soon... urgh.... Funk. Cactus Jack vs. Flyin' Brian Comment: Bang Bang job done. Non Title: Dick Slater vs. Ricky Steamboat Comment: Steamboat to get a little heat back after his beatdown with a little help from Luger perhaps? Beejus
Road Warriors vs. Dynamic Dudes Comment: Alright I can't say I saw the Road Warriors turn coming at all... very good twist, ad! 10 Man Battle Royal, Winner Faces Ric Flair At Halloween Havoc For The NWA World Heavyweight Title: Junkyard Dog, Sting, Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert, Mike Rotundo, Kevin Sullivan, Terry Funk, Lex Luger and Dick Murdoch Comment: Like Ritchardo, I think Sting is in here just as a red herring. I think Funker is that as well, because someone is going to have to turn face here; and Luger would play that slightly better. Cactus Jack vs. Flyin' Brian Comment: Give it another month or two and I'd say Cactus will be taking Steamer's US title. Non Title: Dick Slater vs. Ricky Steamboat Comment: No amount of interference or Horsemen on the brain will give Slater the win here. Non Title: Ric Flair vs. Scott Steiner Comment: Scott's time will come, but not at the expense of Flair. Signs: The Horsemen need a better Anderson! We open with a focus on the announcers for this evening: Gordon Solie and Jim Ross. They begin by talking about the situation with the newly formed Four Horsemen. It was a shock to almost everyone when the Road Warriors turned on the fans to join the Horsemen. The two announcers are interrupted by the sounds of Thus Spoke Zarathustra and it is time for the arrival of four men who caused quite a stir last week.] http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ricflairc.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/animal3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/hawk3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/paulellering.jpg [The NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair leads Ole 'The Rock' Anderson, Animal, Hawk and Paul Ellering all down to the ring. All four men stand tall and raise four fingers where Flair injects a 'Whooooooo' that is still echoed by many fans. Flair gets on the microphone and says he wants to know what's causing all this! The fact of the matter is that the most elite group ever formed in professional wrestling is back in business. We've got the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, soon-to-be the NWA United States Heavyweight Champion in The Rock and the future NWA World Tag Team Champions in the Road Warriors. It is just so hard to be humble when you're this elite. Whoooooo. Anderson gets on the microphone and reminds everyone that he didn't really lose to Ricky Steamboat last week. It was just a fluke. It was what had to happen to get things back on track. Speaking of getting things back on track, that is exactly what is going to happen at Halloween Havoc when he takes the United States Heavyweight title away from the Dragon and puts it around his waist. Then came the Road Warriors and they talked about how recently they've tried to do everything for the fans but that's not really the Road Warriors' style is it? No, their style meshes so much better with these other two men by their sides and their manager Paul Ellering. Ellering says he was humbled to be asked to join the elite, the Four Horsemen. He brought it to Animal and Hawk and, well, now the Horsemen are the best unit in professional wrestling. Steiner Brothers, you are going to get yours. Flair got back on the microphone and said that he is going to be watching the battle royal very closely tonight. But whoever wins the match is just setting themselves up to lose at Halloween Havoc. The Four Horsemen are back and Ric Flair is where he will always be: right on top. Ace is sent outside the ring and Douglas is hit with various double team moves. Animal makes the signal as we come closer to the five minute mark and then lifts Douglas on his shoulders -- Doomsday Device! As with most battle royals, all competitors start inside the ring and it is a free-for-all. Both members of the Midnight Express are eliminated early on by a double clothesline by Lex Luger. Kevin Sullivan is also an early elimination by Sting. Dick Murdoch and JYD eliminate each other when 'Cowboy' Bob Orton comes down to ringside and yanks down the top rope as they are battling near the ropes. Al Perez also comes down to ringside and has a hand in eliminating Eddie Gilbert. Those two brawl their way to the back. The final four men left in the ring are Sting, Terry Funk, Lex Luger and Mike Rotundo. Sting works hard to battle against all three of the bad guys, throwing punches and showing the resiliency that he is known for. Terry Funk takes a Stinger Splash and Lex Luger swoops in, eliminating Funk! Cactus Jack comes down to the ringside area, watching the match. Sting and Luger go at it with punches until Cactus Jack climbs onto the apron. Cactus provides the distraction that Luger needs and he catches Sting with a running forearm, sending Sting over the top rope to the floor! Luger raises his arms in victory but he forgot about Mike Rotundo! Rotundo moves in and hits Luger with a high knee from behind, shoving the Total Package over the top rope. Luger hits the floor and Mike Rotundo has won the battle royal!] Winner: Mike Rotundo (Via Over The Top Elimination @ 19:51) Match Rating: B [To say that this is an upset would probably be putting it mildly! Mike Rotundo will now go to Halloween Havoc to take on Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight title! They surround the ring so that Rotundo cannot get out. Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Road Warrior Animal, Road Warrior Hawk and Paul Ellering all climb onto the apron of the ring with Rotundo looking around for an escape. Flair gives the signal and in come the Horsemen! Rotundo throws punches and tries to fight off the initial onslaught but the numbers game plays havoc with the former Syracuse standout. Anderson catches Rotundo with a gutbuster and then lays him out so that Flair can drop a knee. The attention turns to the knee of Rotundo with Flair banging it hard against the mat and then yanking on it. The argument is interrupted by the presence of their former manager James E. Cornette! Cornette tells them that they both made mistakes in that battle royal but they have a chance to get better as a team. He tells them that he signed them up for a match at Halloween Havoc against the Road Warriors! The winners of that contest will get a NWA World Tag Team title shot at Starrcade this year! Eaton and Lane seem to perk up at that and then agree as Cornette says he will be in their corner now.] http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg Match #3 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/cactusjack3.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/brianpillman.jpg Cactus Jack vs. Flyin' Brian [This match was an interesting one between two up-and-comers in our industry. Of course we saw Jack earlier on when he caused the distraction for Sting and this brings in a lot of boo-birds from the crowd. This match is fairly short but fast-paced and has the crowd on their feet as Brian scores several near falls, showing why he is one of the top young wrestlers in the business today. But Jack gets the action outside the ring where he takes down Brian with a body slam on the thin mats. Jack sends Brian back in the ring where he catches him with a Double Arm DDT and makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!] Winner: Cactus Jack (Via Pinfall @ 5:26) Match Rating: B [A big win for the madman from Truth Or Consequences New Mexico Cactus Jack Jack smiles the toothless smile as he gets his arm raised. Of course, Steamboat should be the number one contender but he'll have to go through Ole Anderson at Halloween Havoc. But focusing on the match itself, it is a fairly short match, lasting around five and a half minutes. Slater gets in a little momentum early on as Steamboat seems distracted but once Steamboat gets back into the heat of things and takes the advantage around the three minute mark he is all business. The Dragon takes Slater down with chops and then heads to the top turnbuckle -- Flying Body Press! Steamboat hooks the leg: 1 -- 2 -- 3!] Winner: Ricky Steamboat (Via Pinfall @ 5:30) Match Rating: B+ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/boborton.jpg [before we go to our main event, we are taken to an interview with 'Cowboy' Bob Orton. This is a technical stand-out between both men as Flair and Steiner trade blows. Steiner gets an early two count following an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. A Steinerline sends Flair out of the ring where he slams the mat angrily. Then he tries to flirt with Missy Hyatt before he gets pulled back in the ring by Steiner. He sends Flair to the ropes and catches him with a tilt-a-whirl suplex for a two count. He shows off some power when he tosses Flair into the corner and Flair flips up and over the turnbuckles and then runs along the apron to the top rope. Steiner grabs Flair, who shakes his head, and tosses him off the top turnbuckle. The momentum changes when Flair begs off in a corner and then pokes Steiner in the eye. Flair takes over and focuses on the right knee of Scott Steiner. He yanks on it and even slams it against the ring post, making a sound that can be heard on camera. Flair slides back in and brings Steiner to the corner, lacing his chest with hard knife-edge chops and releasing a 'Whooooo.' Flair picks up Steiner -- shin breaker! Steiner falls to the mat, grabbing and holding his leg. Flair gives a strut, waiting for Steiner to get up and brings him down with a chop block from behind. Flair reaches down and grabs the legs -- Figure Four! The Figure Four Leglock is applied! Steiner shakes his head as the referee asks him about submission. Flair grabs the ropes for added leverage but lets go before the referee can see him. Eventually this added leverage causes Steiner to give up.] Winner: Ric Flair (Via Submission @ 12:19) Match Rating: A [The bell sounds but Ric Flair does NOT let go of the submission hold! He grabs the ropes again and Scott Steiner cries out in pain! Missy Hyatt enters the ring and tries to plead with Flair to break the hold but he shakes his head. Flair makes a motion toward the back.] http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/animal3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/hawk3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/paulellering.jpg [it's the Four Horsemen! Ole Anderson comes out first, leading The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering! The crowd boos as these four men enter the ring and begin putting the boots to Steiner! Flair finally releases the hold as Paul Ellering sets Missy Hyatt on the top turnbuckle. Flair bounces off the ropes -- knee drop! The Road Warriors smile at the damage done to Scott Steiner. They both pick him up and toss him out of the ring. Ellering allows Missy Hyatt to leave the ring and once again the Four Horsemen end the show standing tall in the center of the ring to an arena filled with boos.]

angeldelayette
Comment: I also expect Horsemen shennanigans here... let's cut to the chase... When's War Games?!!! I'm glad that I could catch some people off-guard with the turns. I am sure that many saw the Ric Flair turn coming. And the reason I put the Skyscrapers/Road Warriors match on that card is because of the turn. As far as War Games goes? Well, we'll see. Road Warriors vs. Dynamic Dudes Comment: Alright I can't say I saw the Road Warriors turn coming at all... very good twist, ad! Signs: The Horsemen need a better Anderson! Definitely glad that everyone enjoyed the Road Warriors turn. Paul Ellering was already a heel so turning Road Warriors seemed easy enough. Sorry I forgot to put the signs in the last card. They will definitely be put on the next card. YES! finally got a win Signs: Cactus made my kid cry That was two in a row now! And again sorry about the signs. They will be going on the next show. Road Warriors vs. Dynamic Dudes 10 Man Battle Royal, Winner Faces Ric Flair At Halloween Havoc For The NWA World Heavyweight Title: Junkyard Dog, Sting, Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert, Mike Rotundo, Kevin Sullivan, Terry Funk, Lex Luger and Dick Murdoch Cactus Jack vs. Flyin' Brian Non Title: Dick Slater vs. Ricky Steamboat Non Title: Ric Flair vs. Scott Steiner Thanks for the predictions! They are definitely appreciated. Nice show and I already like this version of the Horsemen, keep up the good stuff. Glad you like this version of the Horsemen. They will definitely be showing the classic Horsemen traits.

Beejus
I dunno man, some of the old Horseman traits just ain't gonna fly with this crew... can anyone REALLY picture the Warriors in suits and limos? World Championship Wrestling Saturday Week 3 October 1989 Prediction Key: Ole Anderson vs. Rick Steiner Comment: The Steiners are going to need some wins to look good against the juggernaut of the Horsemen, and Ole is a good one to gain that against. The Samoan Swat Team vs. Midnight Express Comment: I'm hoping that the MX having a segment on the last show, albeit a quick one, is a glimpse into them getting a small push. Non Title: Ric Flair vs. 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert Comment: Sorry, you may be Hotstuff, but you just don't limousine ride, jet fly, kiss steal, or wheel and deal quite as well as the Naitcha Boy. Doom vs. Dynamic Dudes Comment: Hey if you would happen to get tired of some of your tag division, Shane Douglas could make a decent heel for you... hint hint Terry Funk vs. Mike Rotundo Comment: Really can't see that Rotundo is going to stand too much of a chance at Havoc, but I do like seeing him get the opportunity. It's a big gamble, and lets see how it pays off. I'm guessing he's going to rack up a few helping hands soon. Lex Luger vs. Sting Comment: With Flair seemingly on top of the heel heap, he is soon to need a strong collective of faces to go against. You have one just waiting in the wings right here. Signs: Don't Kick Samoans in the Head, Stan!
