CM Punk captures WWE Championship;

contract status still undetermined?

Tonight at WWE's annual Money in the Bank Pay Per View, CM Punk pulled off the shock upset when he defeated John Cena to become the NEW WWE Champion in front of his home town of Chicago. As has been reported, as well as played out on WWE television, CM Punk's contract comes to an end tonight. Although many people would believe that tonight's victory would confirm that Punk has resigned with World Wrestling Entertainment, there are rumblings within the company that Punk has YET TO SIGN a new contract with the company. We would be inclined to say that this is all part of an intriguing storyline, but we would hate to confirm or deny until solid proof has been given that Punk has indeed signed for Vince and company. Is it a work? Is it a shoot? Either way, this is a very intriguing time to be a wrestling fan.

WITNESS THE FALLOUT FROM MONEY IN THE BANK

LIVE ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW

Last night at Money in the Bank, the future of the WWE was left hanging in the balance when John Cena failed to retain the WWE Championship, leaving the new "champion" to walk out of the building, and out of the company, with the championship belt! With the WWE Championship now removed from the company, it will be Mr. McMahon's job to rectify the situation before it's too late. And this Monday night, McMahon will address the WWE Universe concerning the issue, and just what the future holds for the WWE. But the big question on every bodies lips; will McMahon make good on his promise and fire John Cena? And what will Money in the Bank Winner Alberto Del Rio have to say concerning the issue, considering his guaranteed title shot now seems to be null and void?

Also, Dolph Ziggler is said to be extremely upset that he was not a part of the Money in the Bank Pay Per View, and is issuing an Open Challenge to anyone willing to try and take his United States Championship from him. And with their leader now removed from the company, Nexus members Michael McGuillicutty and David Otunga will have to go it alone as they put their Tag Team Titles on the line against the new pairing of Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston.

You will not want to miss what is sure to be a history making edition of Monday Night Raw, on USA.

Confirmed Matches Thus Far:

Alberto Del Rio vs Vladimir Kozlov

WWE United States Championship:

Dolph Ziggler © vs. ???[

WWE Tag Team Championships:

David Otunga & Michael McGuillicutty vs. Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston

Alex Riley & Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger & The Miz

Quick Note: Some of the dates in this diary have been changed, for instance the Money in the Bank PPV was held in the first week of July, leaving a good 5-6 week build up for Summerslam. Feel free to predict, however i will not be starting any kind of prediction contest until AFTER Summerslam. Hope you all enjoy.

I assume this means that this diary is over?

For now, it is on the back burner. I had a tonne of ideas ready to go, but several family tragedies and other personal problems occurred, and by the time I was ready to continue with it, I just kind of came up blank as to where it was going. Hopefully in the future I will return to it, but for now I'm going to concentrate on this. I may drop a few little snippets into this diary so readers of my previous work can see just where things were headed within that diary.

Alberto Del Rio vs Vladimir Kozlov

-Easy point for everybody :D.

WWE United States Championship:

Dolph Ziggler © vs. ???

-Could go either way depending on who ??? is. I am guessing it will be someone like Ryder, and therefore a win for DZ.

WWE Tag Team Championships:

David Otunga & Michael McGuillicutty vs. Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston

-Most likely a cheap finish, setting up a fued. Too much of a fan of McGullicutty to have him drop the title just yet.

Alex Riley & Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger & The Miz

-Got to give the faces some love.

And completely off-topic, but nice to see someone else from Leicester on here.

((Opens topic; sees CM Punk & Daniel Bryan in the banner on the first post.))

((Does a dance. Well, not really, but you get the idea.))

Sorry to hear that things came up. Your 2006 diary is/was truly excellent, and I will continue to hold out hope that you'll eventually hit on the inspiration to pick it back up until you rule it out. Even if you don't, I'm sure this one will be great too.

Ziggler is the top champion on Raw with Punk out, and long shall that continue

WWE Tag Team Championships:

David Otunga & Michael McGuillicutty vs. Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston

Torn with this, you might want an opening impact for the tag division, but I'll go the safe option of champs retaining

Alex Riley & Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger & The Miz

Many thanks TFC. I do hope I hit on the inspiration to bring it back too. I truly enjoyed working on that Dynasty, I felt it was some of the best work I had done, and I had so many ideas on where I wanted it to go. Who knows, it may become my "Nevermore" diary, in which I'll come back to it from time to time. I may make it a regular thing again. Or I may never get to it again. At this stage I'm just going to concentrate on making this as good, if not better, than my 2006 diary. But thank you for checking this out. Hope I can keep you interested.

We have put 24 hours a day, 7 days a week into making this company THE Number One Company in this industry. I am a champion people can be proud of. I don’t walk out on the company and disgrace them like our so called champion. I don’t make my claim to fame by beating a bunch of nobodies like our tag champs Otunga and McGuillicutty. Morrison came extremely close to dethroning Ziggler when he nailed him with the Flying Chuck, but Dolph was saved when Vickie Guerrero put his foot on the rope at two. The end came when Morrison gained control and had Ziggler set up for the Starship Pain. But Ziggler was smart enough to get his knees up as Morrison came crashing down, bending him in half. The title came within inches of changing hands towards the end of the contest too, with Kingston hitting Otunga square in the jaw with the Trouble in Paradise. An interesting first show. You stuck to the actual storyline more than I'd expected you to (HHH replacing Vince), but there were some differences that should open things up for more divergence going forward. It looks to me like Vince will be openly antagonizing Trips in his new role, which could be interesting. Also, perhaps more importantly to me, you didn't go through with the tournament. There's already a WWE Champion and a World Heavyweight Champion; the last thing we need is a second WWE Champion. :D

Thank you for your feedback TFC, always appreciated. Yes, as you noticed things have played out quite similar to the actual events. But As the dynasty rolls along, you will be seeing my own take on things, and will gradually shape it into something that will, hopefully, be both different and interesting to follow.

MYSTERIO BEGINS 30 DAY SUSPENSION

Rey Mysterio's WWE future is in doubt as he has once again been suspended for 30 days following a failed drugs test. This is yet another blemish on Mysterio's record. And with injuries also mounting up and keeping him out of action, many are questioning how long it will be before WWE finally pull the plug.

ZIGGLER CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

Management have been extremely impressed with Dolp Zigglers work, despite the fact he hasn't been featured as prominently on WWE television recently. They were particurlary impressed with his work this past Monday on Raw, and many are hoping that his feud with Morrison will capture the imagination of the fans, and hopefully elevate theUnited States title after being a somewhat meaningless title.

LAST CHANCE FOR SWAGGER?

The word going around WWE HQ is that the apparent face turn this past Monday on Raw and upcoming feud with The Miz may be Jack Swagger's last chance to impress the WWE brass, who have been somewhat underwhelmed by him since his disastrous run as World Heavyweight Champion (although many others claim that there were other, more "political" reasons for his run being such a bust). Swagger is undoubtedly an excellent performer, but it remains to be seen if he can really connect with the audience in the way McMahon and company feel he should.

With all the recent happenings within the WWE, it shouldn't be forgotten that at Money in the Bank, we crowned a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion in Christian after Randy Orton got himself disqualified. And so this week, Christian's Peep Show makes it's return, with his special guest: HIMSELF. That's right, it's Christian Appreciation Night on Smackdown, and everyone's invited. Presumably that would also include "The Viper" too?

Also, after the recent, destructive actions of Mark Henry, many wonder just who will step up and stop "The World's Strongest Man". This week, Henry goes toe to toe with a man defending his fallen tag team partners honour: "The Big Red Monster" Kane. Plus, after his "project" Ted DiBiase failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship last week, it is up to Cody Rhodes to try to take the strap for himself when he goes head to head with Ezekiel Jackson. And Smackdown's Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan will also be in the building, where he will address the WWE Universe concerning his shocking victory this past Sunday night.

With all of this and much more, make sure you tune in to Friday Night Smackdown on SyFy.

Announce Team: Michael Cole, Booker T & Josh Matthews

- In the Dark Matches of the evening, Jinder Mahal easily defeated Trent Barreta and Chavo Guerrero managed to pull out the victory over Yoshi Tatsu.

~~~~~
The opening video package played and the pyro exploded as 8,993 fans were on their feet, ready for another exciting edition of Friday Night Smackdown.
Cole: After the shocking turn of events this past Monday on Raw, we are sure to be in for an interesting night here in Hampton, Virginia. And tonight, our NEW World Heavyweight Champion will celebrate in style as The Peep Show returns to welcome the new face of Smackdown, Christian.
Booker: Don’t forget either that Cody Rhodes is set to try and do what his partner Ted DiBiase couldn’t do last week, and that’s to win the Intercontinental Championship from Big Zeke here tonight.
Matthews: But right now we kick things off with a HUGE Street Fight. And I think we are in a very dangerous position for this one guys. This could get extremely ugly.
Kane vs. Mark Henry
To say this was a war would be an understatement, as both men left the ringside area looking like a tornado had crashed through the building. The two took it to each other from the get go, with Kane looking to avenge his fallen partner The Big Show. The two giants even spilled out into the crowd at one stage, using anything and everything at their disposal. But the end came inside the ring when Mark Henry blocked a Chokeslam attempt and delivered a Worlds Strongest Slam onto a steel chair, sending the monster spine first into the metal. Henry could quite easily have made the cover, but he was intent on inflicting damage, drilling him with a second Worlds Strongest Slam, then a third, and then a FORTH. It was at this point that the official used his authority and stopped the match before any more damage could be done.
Winner via Referee Stoppage: Mark Henry
Cole: Mark Henry is absolutely uncontrollable. The official had no choice but to end the match in my opinion.
Booker: Kane is out cold, Cole. I don’t think I’ve ever seen The Big Red Monster so helpless.
Cole: And I don’t think Henry has finished.
The destruction wasn’t over yet, as Henry took the steel chair and placed it on the ankle of The Big Red Monster. But luckily, as Henry climbed the ropes, several officials and EMT’s rushed the ring to stop him from causing any more damage. After a very uncomfortable few seconds, Henry gave a smirk before leaving the ring, allowing the EMT’s to treat Kane in the ring. The carnage may have stopped, but the damage had clearly been done.
Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time, Cody Rhodes. Cody, tonight you get an opportunity to do what your partner Ted DiBiase failed to do last week, and that is capture the Intercontinental Championship. What will...
Rhodes: First of all Todd, let me correct you. Ted DiBiase is not my partner. Ted DiBiase is my project. He is a man who could be a star in this business, but somewhere along the way, he got blinded by the fame, the women, the money. And as my career rocketed into the stratosphere, Ted’s career became stagnant. He will realise his potential, even if I have to beat that knowledge into him. But as for tonight, well, I go into that ring and I become the new Intercontinental Champion. And when I do that, I bring a touch of dignity back to that title, something it has been lacking for far too long. Tonight will be a night for the ages. Because tonight, the Cody Rhodes Era TRULY begins.
~~~~~

The crowd were surprisingly vocal in support of Smackdown Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan as he made his way to the ring for his upcoming match. A loud “Daniel Bryan” chant broke out in the arena as he grabbed a microphone and stepped through the ropes.

Bryan: 11 years ago, I decided to live out a dream. I never wanted to be a doctor, I never wanted to play baseball, I never wanted to be a movie star. My obsession was Professional Wrestling. And 11 years ago I began that journey. A journey that I hoped would lead me to the WWE. I travelled the globe; I honed my craft, to the point where fans across the globe nicknamed me “The Best in the World”. Now I will be the first to refute those claims, the fact is I had gained the respect of the fans, and those fans helped me land a job here in the WWE. And from day one, I was seen as an underdog, a misfit, someone who just “wasn’t big enough” to be a World Champion”. Michael Cole has sat there each and every week and called me every name he could think of. He’s put me down and ridiculed me. A lot of it is his own doing, but I know for a fact that a lot of it is being fed to him by the powers that be in the back who just don’t think I have what it takes. Well this past Sunday at Money in the Bank, I proved each and every one of those doubters wrong when I beat 7 other men, climbed the ladder and EARNED my shot at a World Title. I earned it, and now I can shove it down the throat of anybody and everybody who ever doubted Daniel Bryan. And so I intend to prove to the world why I deserve this briefcase, because each and every week I am going to come out here and compete, and I am going to show everyone why I deserve to be the next World Heavyweight Champion. Whether it be Randy Orton, Christian or anybody else for that matter, I WILL kick your head in. And when I do, the only thing you will hear is the ring announcer proclaim that we have a NEW World Heavyweight Champion. And his name....is Daniel Bryan.

The crowd were behind Bryan as he raised his briefcase high in the air. Bryan was soon joined by his opponent William Regal, the bell sounded, and the match was on.

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/BryanDanielson2.jpghttp://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/versus.pnghttp://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/WilliamRegal.jpg

Daniel Bryan vs. William Regal

Few were aware of the history between these two men, as Regal had a hand in training Bryan early in his career, and it showed as the two were able to read each other like a book, holds and counter holds being exchanged. The two put on an excellent display, the crowd clearly enjoying two artists ply their craft. Things soon got dirty when Regal decided to go for a more aggressive, brawling style, but once again Bryan proved he was well versed in that area too, giving as good as he got to the Blackpool native. Finally, around the 11 minute mark, the match came to a halt when a mistimed Clothesline by Regal was avoided and Bryan was able to take him to the mat and apply the LeBell Lock. Regal held on for as long as he could before the pain became too much, and he was given no choice but to tap.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Matthews: An impressive victory by Daniel Bryan here tonight, and more proof if it was needed, that he is the real deal.

Booker: That right there is why D-Bryan is in my fave five, dog. Ain’t no stopping this kid.

Cole: Are you guys really buying into his crap? Anyway ladies and gentlemen, coming up next our NEW World Heavyweight Champion, “Captain Charisma” Christian will be here with the return of The Peep Show. Don’t go anywhere.

~~~~~
We return from commercial, where the set for The Peep Show is set up, as well as banners and balloons hanging up, ready for the arrival of our new World Heavyweight Champion. The cameras cut backstage, where a limousine is seen pulling into the arena. It comes to a stop and the driver steps out and opens the door to reveal Christian, who was jeered the second he stepped from the vehicle, followed closely by four beautiful young ladies who clearly had never heard of long skirts. The four ladies escorted Christian through the building until finally his music hit and out stepped “Captain Charisma” himself, his title held high above his head. The crowd were hurling abuse at him, but the smile couldn’t be erased as streamers fell from the ceiling. Finally Christian grabbed a microphone and stepped on set, ready to sing his own praises. Even the deafening “You Suck” chants couldn’t keep him from smiling.
Christian: Thank you, ladies. Now hit the bricks. Ladies and gentlemen, let me be the first to welcome you to The Peep Show. And I am your host, the BRAND NEW World Heavyweight Champion, “Captain Charisma” himself; Christian. This past Sunday night, I did what nobody thought was possible. I looked The Viper dead in his eyes, and I put that animal down. I defeated Randy Orton, I beat him fair, I beat him clean and I walked out with this championship title belt. Sure, Randy being the sore loser he has and will always be, decided to jump me after the match, but it was a small price to pay. Because it doesn’t change the fact that I won and he lost. I have everything, and he has NOTHING. So tonight, it only seems right that we celebrate in style. So please rise as the Toronto Choir sings The Canadian National Anthem. Thank you.
The crowd were hot, jeering at the top of their lungs, “USA” chants booming out as the anthem was sung. The boos were as loud as ever when the song was complete, but Christian would not be deterred.
Christian: I didn’t really expect anything more than utter disrespect from a bunch of hillbillies from the good old US of A, but i digress. I won’t let you ruin MY night. And this is my night after all. And so I had the boys in the truck put together a little video in honour of yours truly that will hopefully open your eyes to the greatness that is in front of you. Roll it.
The lights in the arena dimmed as a video began to play. Set to the song “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias, the video showcased Christian’s rise to the top, from his introduction as a member of The Brood, to his extraordinary tag team run with Edge, all the way to his victory at Money in the Bank. The jeers were booming as the video ended, tears in the eyes of the World Heavyweight Champion. However the jeers quickly turned to cheers when Randy Orton sprinted to the ring and took Christian down, laying into him with heavy rights and lefts before the champ was finally able to escape to the outside. The crowd were going nuts for “The Viper” who had a microphone in hand.
Orton: Christian, I want you to enjoy this moment. I want you to enjoy your time as champion. Because it comes to an end TONIGHT. I’m cashing in my rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, and I’m cashing it in right here, right now. So get your ass in here.
Christian: Hold on a second there, Randy. You know, I wanna like you, I really do. But time and time again you prove just how idiotic you really are. You see, if you had read the contract for our match, not only did it state that you lose your title if you get disqualified, but it also states that you give up your guaranteed rematch for the title. So that means your ass goes to the back of the queue. So long as I hold this title, you will never EVER get a shot. It’s over, Randy. You lost. Deal with it.
It was at that moment that the music of Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long hit, and he stepped out onto the entrance way.
Long: Now hold up there, playa. Now Christian, you are correct; because of Randy Orton’s actions at Money in the Bank, he does not have a rematch clause in his contract. However, that doesn’t me that he isn’t eligible for a title shot. And that is why right here in tonight’s Main Event, we will see a brand new Number One Contender crowned. Because we will see “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus go one on one....with “THE VIPER” RANDY ORTON. Holla!
The crowd were going nuts at the huge announcement made by Teddy Long, and Christian was losing it, berating the General Managers decision.
Booker: You gotta be kidding me! Randy Orton and Sheamus are gonna get it on here tonight to crown anew Number One Contender.
Cole: How is this fair? Randy Orton lost his shot at the title when he got himself disqualified. He should be at the back of the queue.
Ezekiel Jackson © vs. Cody Rhodes
The contrast in styles here was clearly evident, and Rhodes did a good job of trying to keep Big Zeke off his feet. But it was only a matter of time before Jacksons pure, brute strength came into play, and he began to dominate Rhodes. It was around this point that Ted DiBiase made his way to ringside. Things were not looking good for Cody, until Jackson mistimed a Big Boot, and Rhodes held the top rope down, sending him sailing to the floor. This gave DiBiase the opportunity to lay Jackson out with a steel chair, behind both the officials AND Cody Rhodes back. The referee finally made the count, and when Jackson didn’t answer the count, he had no choice but to call for the bell awarding the match, but not the title, to Rhodes.
Winner via Count Out: Cody Rhodes
Realising that he had failed in his attempt to capture the gold, Rhodes blew a gasket in the ring, kicking the ropes in frustration. And after seeing the replay displayed on the Titantron, he turned his attention to Ted DiBiase. Ted tried to plead his case, but Rhodes wasn’t interested, shoving him to the mat before storming out. DiBiase was desperate for Rhodes’ forgiveness, and was totally oblivious to Ezekiel Jackson entering the ring, lifting him up and locking in the Torture Rack. Rhodes watched on, emotionless, before walking away, unconcerned with his projects well being.
Striker: Please welcome my guest at this time, Wade Barrett. Wade, you asked for this time, the stage is yours.
Barrett: You’re right, I asked for this time, because I believe it’s about time the world knew the truth. You see, ever since I came to the WWE as part of the original line up for NXT, I’ve had an ulterior motive. I’ve had something lined up, something I have wanted to do for so many years. I found somebody who felt the exact same way as I do and he agreed to stand by my side. All we needed was to wait for the perfect moment to put our plan into action. And right now, I think it’s time. Wade Barrett is going to do something he should have done a long time ago. My quest to become World Heavyweight Champion begins here and now.
Matthews: What on earth is Barrett talking about?
Booker: The only thing for sure about Wade Barrett is nothing is for sure.
A video is played hyping the exciting young team of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel.
Sin Cara vs. Tyson Kidd
Despite the fact that Kidd hadn’t appeared on Smackdown in quite some time, he didn’t seem to have missed a beat, and he managed to give Sin Cara quite possibly his best match to date in the WWE. Their styles seemed to mesh extremely well, which made for a very fast paced, high octane encounter. But despite his best efforts, Kidd would still fall prey to a Top Rope C-4 from Sin Cara, earning “The Mexican Sensation” yet another victory.
Winner: Sin Cara
Matthews: Another impressive victory for Sin Cara, but it wasn’t easy.
Booker: I think we may be seeing a lot more of Kidd here on Smackdown after that performance.
The crowd were on their feet as Sin Cara celebrated in the ring as Tyson Kidd rolled from the ring dejected. Up on the entrance way, David Hart Smith was looking on intently...
~~~~~

A short video package was played hyping Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s appearance on the red carpet for a recent Hollywood Blockbuster. Whilst there, he hyped up the WWE, as well as his hugely anticipated match with John Cena at Wrestlemania.

~~~~~
The cameras cut backstage, where Mark Henry is arrogantly striding down the hall way, intimidating anyone and everyone who crosses his path. Whilst in the hallway, Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long approached “The World’s Strongest Man”, attempting to condemn his actions earlier in the night. But Henry wasn’t interested, and reared back as if he was going to drill his fist into the face of the GM. Long immediately curled into a ball on the floor in fear, which only caused Henry to laugh uncontrollably before simply walking away, leaving Long feeling humiliated.
Cole: THAT’S our General Manager? What a joke.
Matthews: Mark Henry has NO fear, it’s that simple. He doesn’t care if you’re a figure of authority or a camera man, everybody gets the same treatment from “The World’s Strongest Man”.
Number One Contenders Match for WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/RandyOrton5.jpghttp://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/versus.pnghttp://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/jwforever316a/WWE%2011/SheamusOShaunessy.jpg
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
These two men had a colourful history to say the least, and the two of them pulled out all the stops, looking to earn the right at a title shot against Christian at Summerslam. Sheamus, clearly being the stronger of the two, used his power to his advantage, keeping “The Viper” grounded whenever possible. That’s not to say Orton din’t get any offence in. On the contrary< Orton was able to take the fight to Sheamus, and almost had the victory early on when he hit an RKO very early in the contest. Unfortunately, Sheamus was able to get his foot on the ropes. The crowd were actually split, as Sheamus had been getting a good amount of fan support in the past few weeks. The match was a back and forth, very physical encounter between two men hungry for gold. But the end came in the strangest of fashions, as Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick to Orton, which should have surely sealed his fate and given Sheamus his title shot. However, the crowed were surprised to see none other than DREW MCINTYRE jump onto the ring apron after coming through the crowd. Drew distracted the official, and Sheamus for that matter. The distraction was such that “The Celtic Warrior” was completely oblivious to the shocking presence of WADE BARRETT in the ring, who hit a low blow on Sheamus before delivering The Wasteland. Orton was now on his feet, but he too was hit with a Wasteland. However, Barrett dragged Orton on top of Sheamus. McIntyre jumped from the apron, allowing the official to make the three count and award the match, as well as the Number One Contendership, to “The Viper”.
Winner, and Number One Contender: Randy Orton
Booker: What the hell? What just happened?
Cole: Wade Barrett just made good on his comments from earlier tonight, that’s what just happened.
Following the match, Barrett and McIntyre entered the ring and began to put the boots to Sheamus, beating him down like an animal. Barrett held “The Celtic Warrior” up, allowing McIntyre to deliver a lethal Big Boot, knocking Sheamus down. But help was at hand when Randy Orton got to his feet, cleaning the clocks of both men before sending them packing. Barrett and McIntyre backed up the ramp, Orton looking on with anger in his eyes. But the distraction cost him, as he was hit with a Killswitch from absolutely nowhere by Christian, who had somehow entered the ring. The crowds jeers were deafening as “Captain Charisma” stood over his Summerslam opponent. The show faded to black with Christian standing tall over “The Viper”, holding his championship title high in the air for the world to see.
There are rumblings going around WWE HQ that McMahon and company are finally ready to pull the trigger on a major push for Daniel Bryan following his win at Money in the Bank.
