Ring Style: Entertainer Skills: High charisma and mic skills, decent psychology (think journeyman veteran), really good respect Finisher: You're better at that than me Bio: Born in Vancoover, Tom Yates grew up watching [insert promotion here] shows on TV and by the age of 16 Tom had quit school, run away from home and convinced a wrestler by the name of Gerald Hedon to take him on as a protege and train him in the art of wrestling. Gerald (who worked as Lord Gerald, a fake English aristocrat) used Tom as a valet, with Tom portraying his bulter/bodyguard. Yate's day finally came when he turned on his master on a show for [insert regional 90s promotion] and master and student put on what was concidered by many to be a Match of the Year candidate. Tom got a load of bookings independant of Lord Gerald but, although he had charisma enough, he just couldn't find a gimmick to suit his over-the-top babyface style. Until Gerald suggested he just go with it. If he acted like a superhero, BE a superhero. That night the idea for Captain Canada was born and the rest is wrestling history. During the 80s he generally worked as "The Tower" Tavares Madson, appearing sporadically in major promotions in North America but nothing that stuck as a long term gig. Although he had all the tools he never made it big, one of the possible reasons for this was his refusal to use a manager, even though his mic skills were average at best throughout the majority of his career. Gerald was the first kid in his High School ever to be both Captain of the Wrestling Team and Head of the Drama Club. When the time came for further study he had tonnes of offers from various colleges, some wanting him for his acting skills, most for his sporting prowess. However one evening an American turn up at Gerald's parent's house and asked to talk. The man was [insert early 80s big name American promoter here], he had seen Gerald both win the Junior Div Wrestling State Chamionship and direct & play the lead role in his High School's groundbreaking production of MacBeth. [Promoter] offered Gerald a regular wage, training on the job & assurances that with his background in wrestling & acting and the proper attitude he could become something big in the business. Gerald's father had always been an avid pro wrestling fan so was keen to sign, Gerald's mother agreed begrudgingly, but only because Gerald himself was so excited he could have exploded. To make things even better Gerald's accidental birthplace meant that he held duel American/Canadian nationality, meaning no need for awkward work visas. Sure enough, Gerald was a success. Using his talent at accents he played the snobby British arristocrat to perfection and, in his time, won the [that dude's promotion's midcard belt] 7 times over 10 years with the company but, although given shots at the [main strap], was never truely pushed hard enough to become a true main eventer. Due to his ability to put on a solid match with anyone he became seen as the 'gatekeeper' to the main event, if Lord Gerald put you over you were ready for the big time! After 10 years Gerald asked for his release and went freelance, mainly working in Canada to be closer to his family after so many years in the US. Touring Canada he was approached by a teen by the name of Tom Yates, who begged Gerald to train him. Gerald made the kid carry bags, clean his car, all kinds of stuff, but the kid hung around so he decided to train him. He debuted the heavyweight, muscled Tom as 'Yates', the Lord's butler come bodyguard and the pairing worked well both with Yates in the Lord's corner and as a master & sidekick tag team. The time came, the student was ready to go out on his own, and Yates turned on his abbusive master. The two put on what was concidered by many to be a Match of the Year candidate before going their seperate ways, with Yates going on to become the popular superhero wrestler Captain Canada. Lord Gerald continued to wrestle regularly for a few more years, but then entered semi-retirement and started accepting regular contracts. Although he is more than willing to step between the ropes most promoters tend to use him as a mouthpiece for their heels or as a road agent backstage but when he does get back in the ring he's still got it and his opponent will still always come off looking amazing! Tryant stands at 7'2" and weighs over 400 lbs and he looks like one of the most dangerous people in the world, but the opposite can be said. Timothy Pierce is one of the nicest guy outside his character you could meet. Ring Style: Regular wrestler, not flashy, solid core skills. Finisher: Slingshot DDT Bio: Born in Toronto, Damon Hayes has been wrestling since he was 16, but he grew frustrated with the Canadian indy scene and decided to try his luck elsewhere. He spent his career traveling between Australia, Puerto Rico, and Europe, and drew good money feuding with [Australian wrestling star] and [European wrestling star]. Joey continued to team with [top face] for a few show and gained the on-screen nickname of Joey Average from his short lived partner. Whilst having a few flashy moves he largely tries to hide his flaws with hardcore weapon-fests where possible, and still plays up his 'regular guy roots'.
