PRESS RELEASE -- Coming soon from Infinity Comics, the exciting new series THE STREETS OF RAVENHOLME starring recent DUPIN DETECTIVE COMICS star RACHEL NOIR! This new saga will follow the continuity of the succesful WE HATE WHAT WE FEAR story from the Dupin Detective series.

After putting away several lowrent villains during her time as one of the clean cops on the Ravenholme police force, the local crime syndicate was beginning to take note of Rachel. As her story played out in the background of the Dupin Detective series, it didn't seem unusual when an unknown crime boss dispatched the assasin VICKI HATE to deal with Rachel. But, rather than killing her, Hate somehow knew the story of how Rachel's parent were mysteriously found dead when she and her brother, BRIAN, were younger. Rachel was almost eighteen, her brother mearly ten, and so she was left to raise Brian on her own.

Hate decided it would be better to punish Rachel by instead killing her brother, leaving Noir to wonder for the rest of her life why her family had all been killed and, worse, from who had the order come? Hate didn't count on the rage that would burst forth from Rachel, causing her to quit the police force and take to the streets as a vigilante hellbent on exacting revenge from Vicki Hate and discovering just who had taken her family away.

Keep an eye out for the exciting first issue, "The Streets of Ravenholme," releasing this month! In issue #1, Noir hits the streets looking for drug kingpin NARCO; if anyone can tell her where to find Hate, it will be the leader of her gang THE NIGHTMARES! Can Noir track down the nefarious Narco? Will Narco tell her where to find her nemisis?

These are the streets of Ravenholme, streets that I intend to clean-up, even if I have to do it all by myself . . .
AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

A woman's scream echoes off the damp buildings and steel dumpsters, clanging down the alley and towards the street. Shrouded by thr darkness at the dead end of the alley, a large figure stands over a fallen, trembling woman. . .

H-HEEELLPPP M-MMMEEAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

She shakes her head, clawing at the side of the building to get up as the imposing figure flashes a nasty looking blade at her. His breath smells like hot death as he licks his lips and sneers at her. . .

KA-BANG!!

From the dim lights by the street, the sound of a gunshot fills the alley, a burt of fire from the firing illuminating the face of our hero, RACHEL NOIR . .

"I suggest you run now. . . unless you want to get blood on your nice dress," Noir tells the frightened lady, aiming both of her pistols towards the big brute standing over her. . .

"'eeey, I knows you," Big Kev growls at Noir as he turns around, twirling his blade eagerly in his hand. "C'mere, I'mma' cut you up like dat pretty boy brother a' yours!"

As he starts to lumber down the alley, the woman scrambles to her feet and takes off, her heels falling off as she scurries past Rachel while yelling TAXI!!!


Rachel smiles at Big Kev, moving on of her pistols and firing a round into each of the big thugs knees with her dual handguns!! OOOOWWWWW!!! the huge thug bellows as he collapses to his knees, then forward to his face. Noir takes several steps forward, pressing her boot down on Big Kev's neck and aiming one pistol at his head. The sound of police sirens begins to blare nearby, and Rachel steps harder as Kev squirms.

"Where is she?" Noir snarls, but Kev only lets out a pained chuckle in return. Noir steps down harder on his neck, and Kev begins to spit up blood as he squirms even harder. The sirens get louder, the blue and red lights flashing faintly on one of the damp, brick buildings across the street. "Tell me, or it was self-defense when I got here," she says, pressing the pistol against his head.

"N-NARCO!!" Kev finally grunts. "H-he can tells you!"

"Of course!" Rachel snaps, angry at herself for not thinking of it on her own. . . but, still, this had been easy enough. She puts her guns away behind her trenchcoat, and grabs Kev by the neck to haul him out of the alley an into the streets. She tosses him down in the street, causing a police cruiser to SQUUAALLL to a stop just inches away from his torpid, muscular body.

"What the HELL, Rachel?!" Dupin snaps as he hops out of the police cruiser, several officers swarming Kev to take him into custody. "Someone saw a lady running down the street barefoot in the area. . . I just happened to be on patrol nearby."

Rachel gives Dupin half a smile as she watches Kev being put into a cruiser; even though she no longer worked with the police force, she still felt a swelling of pride when she saw a perp being shoved into the back of a cruiser to be taken away so that justice can be delivered. "You know what I'm doing, Danny. . . and you know what I'm going to have to do to get it done," she answers coldly.

"It doesn't have to be done like thi-- " Dupin begins, but Rachel cuts him off.

"When that bitch was on your radar for TWO YEARS, and she was still free to kill Brian. . . yeah, Danny, I do. I used to think that being a clean cop somehow made me better than a lot of other people on the force, and maybe it did. But being any part of system run by unclean people is never going to do any good. But I understand your dedication to the force, and I respect you, Danny. . . so, repectfully-- " Rachel begins to walk off. . .

"STAY OUT OF MY WAY. . ."

Dupin can only shake his head as Rachel reaches the end of the block, turns down another street and takes off at a dead sprint. He returns to his cruiser, telling Kev It's time to go downtown as the musclebound thug begins to clear his head.
NEXT TIME IN THE STREETS OF RAVENHOLME-- RACHEL COMES FACE-TO-FACE WITH NARCO! WILL SHE BE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE LOCATION OF HER NEMESIS, VICKI HATE? OR WILL THE NEFARIOUS NARCO PROVE TOO MUCH FOR OUR VENGEFUL HEROINE?
