Bryan Clark refused to submit in the ankle lock so Mikey Whipwreck called for the bell and ended the match even though Clark had not submitted. The match had good crowd heat and some decent action. </p><p> </p><p>

Having did this it meant he was leaving Whipwreck in there with Clark, when he realised Whipwreck was still in there he went to try to get back in but the cage door had been locked by Clark and he had the key. Shamrock tried to rip the door of it’s hinges but couldn’t as Bryan Clark beat up on the weakened Whipwreck. Clark laughed as he powerbombed Whipwreck 3 times.</em></span></p><p> </p><p>

NWA PRESS STATEMENT:

 

Right now as things stand we don't have a number 1 contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. And there has been many a backstage argument between talent and management about just who that should be. I, Richard Wright, am putting an end to these arguments and taking action.

 

The problem stems from there being no pecking order within the NWA. Too many new talents coming in creating this situation we have. So we are going to rectify that problem. Starting at NWA SummerSin Alpha and ending at SummerSin Omega there will be a tournament to determine the number 1 contender who will receive an NWA World Heavyweight Title shot at the NWA SummerSin: Aftermath

 

Dan Severn will defend the NWA World title at each of the NWA SummerSin events and his opponent will be determined by Dan Severn in a Champions Choice of title matches.

 

We can confirm that these talents will be involved in the tournament: Diamond Dallas Page, Ken Shamrock, Paul Orndorff, Kevin Sullivan & Jacques Rougeau.

 

The tournament will consist of this: a 5 man group and every wrestler will take on every other wrestler once in a round robin tournament which will create the NWA Heavyweight Title rankings. At the end of the round robin stage the top two wrestlers will compete in a ladder match. The point of which will be to take down a contract that will guarantee them a NWA World Title shot and Number 1 Contender status.
