angeldelayette
The Nomination phase is over and now we come to the Voting phase. The Voting Phase goes like this: 1. Each person gets 3 votes to be placed in my pm box. Only those sent to my pm box will be counted. 2. Only those listed on the Contenders list at the bottom of this post are eligible. 3. These 3 votes are to be placed in order: 1, 2, 3. 4. Vote listed at 1 gets 3 points, vote listed at 2 gets 2 points, vote listed at 3 gets 1 point. 5. Self-Votes are NOT allowed. 6. Those who are already in the Hall of Fame get one extra point per vote. So their 1 vote gets 4 points, their 2 vote gets 3 points, their 3 vote gets 2 points. 7. Feel free to post publicly in this thread who your votes have gone to and why people should vote for them. 8. Hall of Famers already are as follows: Monkeypox, Scapino1974, Tristram, Adam Ryland, Nevermore, Tigerkinney, KeefMoon, J Silver, James Casey, BigPapa42, Marcel Fromage, Reaper, Dragonmack, Eisen-verse, Self and Phantom Stranger 9. Any further questions, feel free to ask on this thread or in my pm box. 10. I will not be updating this thread with the numbers as I want it to be a surprise for the most part who gets in. 11. 3 people will be voted in at the deadline 12. This will run for one month, until April 8 at 12 Noon EST. Contenders 1. angeldelayette 2. NoNeck 3. Wildfire1324 4. infinitywpi 5. The Final Countdown 6. Oldschool 7. jhd1 8. Brifidelity 9. BHK1978
I went with NoNeck, TFC, and Oldschool. I may have never commented in any of NoNeck's diaries but I have still followed his work. Just a great writer. As for TFC and Oldschool, well they are in my opinion two of the best Real World Diary writers on the board. Real World diaries tend to not get much love on these boards and I will freely admit that I was not into real world diaries when I first started reading diaries on here. However, once I started reading Oldschool's WWWF diary I was hooked. I mean what a concept the WWWF without Hulk Hogan. Shortly after that I got hooked on TFC's ROH diary. TFC is one of the best match writers on the board. I will freely admit that I often skip match write-ups but I always take the time to read his. The Final Countdown
Shortly after that I got hooked on TFC's ROH diary. TFC is one of the best match writers on the board. I will freely admit that I often skip match write-ups but I always take the time to read his. Thanks Garrus...err...BHK. I sometimes wonder if some of my more lengthy match write-ups are worth the time and effort, so it's nice to hear you think they're worth the read. angeldelayette
Just a bump for this post. We are pretty close right now with the top vote-getters. Make your vote count!
Eisen-verse
I hemmed and hawed over who I was going to vote for; however, in the end, I found myself in favor of: Angeldelayette, NoNeck, and The Final Countdown. While everyone could obviously get their way in, I feel as though these 3 have created a very strong body of work (lasting over a few years or so). Best of luck to everyone in the voting process. Also, make sure your 'voice is heard' as to who you want in the Hall. In the end, it's stuff like THIS that ultimately creates a cohesive community of writers. Without unity, or attempting to create a culture of our own (Hall and all), the TEW GDS board would just be a place to post random words. Cheers! Stennick
Just a bump for this and also to state I voted. I voted 1. NoNeck, the guy is flat out one of the most underrated (how can he be underrated if he's 2 in the HOF voting? because he should be already in). The guy is just a fantastic, creative writer if he starts a dynasty I read it from word one. 2. Infinitywpi this is where it gets tough this guy has been around since I started coming here, he's a got a great, natural sense of humor to his writing, he makes his dynasty presentation his own. He has a unique way of presenting his world and the amount of dynasties mostly with CZCW that had me spend an hour catching up on is in itself worthy of the two spot. 3. The Final Countdown, this is where it got incredibly tough Old School, Codey, and Wildfire were all very deserving and I would have voted for any of them. I voted for TFC because he might have the longest running, regularly updated dynasty on the board. The guy writes out some of the best matches, he has kept his dynasty going longer than most others and he produces quality. If you're in the running for REal World DOTM and you see that TFC is your competition you almost have to know that its going to be a fight to the end. Just a great writer, again he took something like ROH that doesn't translate into text that well and really made it his own.
The Informant
I voted for No Neck number one and Infinity number two. I voted last night so I gotta see who I voted for in last place it was one of the real world guys either Wildfire or TFC. So I'm not saying anything and I don't want this to be taken the wrong way but why exactly do we have one of the guys thats being voted on actually running the voting. Shouldn't there atleast be one other person involved in the voting. Like maybe send your votes to both of these people that way nobody is overlooked or anything like that. I know it'll get taken the wrong way and I'm sure the guy running it is a stand up guy however I've never seen a guy being voted on also be in charge of the vote tallying seems like the definition of conflict of interest but I'll go back to being invisible now that I made my peace

I decided to run the hall of fame voting because we didn't have one last year and I wanted to have one this year. I have kept every single pm that I was sent giving the tallies. I have also kept a wordpad list of every single person's vote in both the nomination and voting phase. That way, if anyone questioned my sincerity, I could present them with either or both. Stennick
Bumping this back to the top page again. By my count we got four days left so get your votes in guys. Question how long before we see how the lucky guys are? Is there a huge write up? Or are the results told and then a write up following that? At any rate get your votes in guys. I suggest everybody go back and check out NoNeck and Infinity's work. Two very different styles but both equally awesome and both deserve to get in /cheap plug

I am going to do a writeup for this, to be sure. Though probably not a huge one.
Stennick
Really though my question was how soon will we know the results? Will it not be until th writeup or will we know the results right away and the writeup comes at a later date?
angeldelayette
The voting is now closed for the Hall of Fame class of 2012. In what may come as a surprise to many, we will actually be having 4 entries into the hall of fame instead of 3. The reason for this is that the #3 entry resulted in a tie between two of the competitors. Expect a short writeup to come, well, shortly.
