Red Dragon Wrestling- A Welsh RTG game

Recommended Posts

Menace managed to secure himself an $800 per appearance 12 month contract. Mister Hall was not best pleased to hear that to put it mildly but Menace has been putting some decent matches together so hopefully it will pay off.

And in UK wrestling news, Pure Wrestling is now unpopular. This does not effect RDW which has no Pure wrestling in it's product but ROF is now suffering from a minor negative.

Siege of Caernarvon September 2011 report

Siege of Caernarvon September 2011 (Att:28)

Chris Everton defeats Vic Walker 12/F

A truly awful bout. It might as well have been called a rotten fruit match.

Angle: Emma wins Bikini contest 45/D

It may be cheap tat but Emma and Rachel are both learning from them, somehow.

Foreign legion defeats Cutters (Sharp & Bali) to retain the RDW Tag title 29/E

Another simple victory for the du Ponts, only Sharp & Heath seem at their level in the tag department.

Angle: Hall rants at workers 38/D-

Private Pain defeats Norman Gates in a coal miner’s glove match 23/E-

Norman Gates may be a brawler but he does not seem to actually like brawl based matches. Pain beats several kinds of snot out of psycho Gates with the glove.

Glen Ward defeats DJ Turtle to retain Dragon King title 42/D

Their first match between these two and the great chemistry between them shines through. Ward is too tough for the fun loving DJ but this looks like being the second great feud for the company.

Overall: 36/D-

Notes:

$400 loss to bring the kitty to $1400 but another 0.6 popularity boost means the company is now at 11.3 popularity (10.7 influence) and should gain promotion to small size after Rhondda Rebellion.

Glen Ward and DJ Turtle have GREAT chemistry as opponents. Yippee!

Rhondda Rebellion Prediction Card for October 2011

This will be the last event before gaining promotion, so a minimum of two faces and two heels will be hired. All suggestions gratefully received, especially from "Dunton" card holders.

There are four unemployed female wrestlers available: Eva Berlin, Geena the WP, Miss Information and Thea Davies. Should RDW gain a women's divison?

Summary (to be resolved Saturday 11pm BST):

Glen Ward vs DJ Turtle in a best of three match for Dragon King

Nigel Svensson vs Norman Gates

Razorblades (Sharp & Pain) vs Mercenaries (Walker and Jacques du Pont)

Pierre du Pont vs Bali Daljit

Tiebreak: What will the attendance of Rhondda Rebellion be? (Economy 97, Industry 41)

Glen Ward vs DJ Turtle in a best of three match for Dragon King

The angry man will be champ for a little while longer yet

Nigel Svensson vs Norman Gates

Svensson is one of your best and should beat Gates easily

Razorblades (Sharp & Pain) vs Mercenaries (Walker and Jacques du Pont)

Pain is doing well

Pierre du Pont vs Bali Daljit

Via cheating

Glen Ward vs DJ Turtle in a best of three match for Dragon King - I'll go for an upset to continue the feud and make the most of that great chemistry.

Nigel Svensson vs Norman Gates - Nigel's too good to lose to someone like Gates.

Razorblades (Sharp & Pain) vs Mercenaries (Walker and Jacques du Pont) - Pain's awesome and the team name is MUCH cooler.

Pierre du Pont vs Bali Daljit - Guess.

Rhondda Rebellion October 2011 report

Rhondda Rebellion October 2011 (Att: 33)

Pierre du Pont defeats Bali Daljit 30/E

Pierre is a good midcarder, Daljit is a jobber. Goodish rating though

Angle: Aurora wins bikini contest 42/D

Last bikini contest for a while, being overused.

Razorblades (Sharp & Pain) defeat Mercenaries (Walker & J. Du Pont) 26/E

Pain in particular is too strong for the third pair in the du Pont brothers/Walker trio.

Angle: Hall rants at workers 38/D-

Nigel Svensson defeats Norman Gates 39/D-

Surprisingly these two have never wrestled against each other as singles competitors and what an oversight! They have GREAT chemistry and although Svensson won expect this feud to develop.

Glen Ward defeats DJ Turtle to retain Dragon King title 32/E+

This match was extended to 16 minutes and unfortunately Ward’s lack of stamina was badly exposed. A big booking mistake by Private Pain but not one that costs.

Overall: 33/E+

Notes:

0.6 popularity gained to 11.9 in UK South and... congratulations RDW is now at small size.

Nigel Svensson and Norman Gates have GREAT chemistry

New Signings with expanded roster

New Signings in October 2011

Currently there are 14 wrestlers. However as seven of them are below 35 psychology (a goal of Dunton Hall until end of 2012) they are not going to be resigned in November/December.

So there will be no less than 13 new wrestlers signed to join the roster in the next few months (I want to have 10 faces and 10 heels on the roster), and as only unemployed wrestlers can be signed that presents quite a problem.

Anyway some of the new signings:

Draco Macbeth (formerly known as Genocide Agent, high level face)

Johnny Highspot (hopefully to become Main Event face)

Miss Information and Thea Davies to become first two members of women’s division

Randy Garcia as a colour commentator

Plus a new heel stable with strong welsh links: a personality plus two wrestlers

In world news, Lucha libre wrestling is now unpopular in the UK. Fortunately RDW has none in it's current product.

Look Back in Bangor report November 2011

Look Back in Bangor November 2011 (Att:57)

Dunton Hall comes out to address the record crowd 39/D-

“Welcome to the fastest growing wrestling company in the world, ladies and gentlemen! I have great plans for this company, not least with the unique way that this company will be structured. However tonight I wish to talk to you about the competition that will take up most of 2012”

“Tonight I want to reveal a totally new competition in the world of sports entertainment. The.....”

At this point the familiar sounds of Catatonia’s “Thank the lord I’m Welsh” blare out over the PA and three men appear at the entrance. Red Dragon is back in the house! But who are the two gentlemen with him?

Hall looks furious:

“I fired you Dragon! And what possessed you to bring that hasbeen Chuck Frisbee and two bit thug Ken Flanagan with you? What on earth have you got that I would be interested in?”

Flanagan reaches for the mike but Red Dragon fields the question instead.

“What have I got that you be interested in, Hall? How about my name?” he retorts.

Hall muses for a few seconds then comes to a decision.

“Flanagan, let’s talk. And you two will be competing tonight. Frisbee go and get ready, Dragon stay in the ring because you are fighting....”

Red Dragon defeats Draco Macbeth 34/E+

Both showed signs of ring rust but the Welshmen had that extra bit of class you would expect from a previous Dragon King. And as an added bonus the pair had good chemistry together. Once they have bedded down in the company this could be a handy little feud....

Medicine Ball defeats the Foreign legion to win the RDW Tag title 30/E+

Private Pain no longer! The newly renamed and promoted Corporal Punishment teamed up with perennial jobber Bali Daljit and overturned a much more experienced team. Punishment’s improving power was impressive as he battered the French twins into submission and pinned Jacques with some real authority. We have new champions!

[both Jacques and Pierre have less than 35 psychology so they will be leaving within the next month, so temporary adios to the du Pont boys]

Hall addresses the crowd once more 40/D-

“Ladies and Gentlemen, 2012 will see the inaugural Welsh Wrestling League. Four franchises will compete on a home and away basis at events throughout the year. At the end of the series the winning franchise will receive both a lucrative cash prize and enhanced opportunities for title belts.

“The losing franchise however.... well let’s not dwell on any unpleasantness.”

Chuck Frisby defeated Martin Heath 22/E

A good old fashioned stinker of a match. Heath and Frisby have poor chemistry together and a recent radio interview revealed that Frisby gets nervous when pushed high up the card. Perhaps a career as jobber to the stars beckons for Chuck?

Johnny Highspot defeats Liam Lutz 36/D-

Effectively a warm up match for the company’s great white hope. However a good match rating (certainly Lutz’s best ever) promises well for Highspot.

Emma Evans wins bikini contest 52/D+ (record)

Oh go on, one more time. It may demean the participants, but boy do the RDW fans like a swimsuit show! Evans and Dearheart are learning from these as well.

Thea Davis defeats Miss Information to become She Dragon 50/D+

Our fans also like to see some lingerie showing on our amazons. The statuesque teenager Davis beats wily veteran Miss Information with the bodice ripper “wrestling” move to win the evening gown match (RDW has low Risque but Heavy Cult so I reckon it is an acceptable match for the fanbase).

Nigel Svensson defeats Glen Ward in a submission match to regain the Dragon King title 47/D

Ward to his credit competed clean but Svensson looked a different beast when he hadn’t been tenderised by Menace. Plenty of ebb and flow to the match but the dreaded hyperextension arm lock of Svensson did for Ward yet again.Long live King Nigel!

Overall Rating: 46/D (record)

Bonus points:

Red Dragon was a likely choice but did anybody pick Chuck Frisby to join the new stable of Flanagan’s Thugs? And speaking of which, is Hall insane to let the locker room poison that is Ken Flanagan through the door?

Thanks to the sponsorship boost of being small, an $11,000 profit this month. There are three chemistry notes:

Red Dragon has good chemistry with Draco Macbeth

Martin Heath has poor chemistry with Chuck Frisby

And in a blow, Manny Morhan and Randy Garcia make an awful commentary team

Prediction Contest Winner November 2011

Occasional Z was the only entry but he scored an impressive 5/6 and 2/3 on the bonuses. And to be fair the only reason the foreign legion lost is that both were leaving the company.

Wrestlers due to leave by the end of the year

Both du Ponts

Norman Gates

Vic Walker

Chris Everton

John Michael Sharp

Welsh Wrestling League

Welsh Wrestling League

The first of Dunton Hall’s ideas to revolutionise the world of professional wrestling. The Welsh Wrestling League has seen applications from four minor league promotion owners and each has been granted a franchise to manage over the course of the 2012 season.

The league will comprise two face franchises and two heel franchises. The four franchises will each compete in four fixtures and the best face franchise will meet the best heel franchise in the grand final.

Every fit wrestler must compete in the fixture, handicap matches are permitted in the event of a number imbalance. The first named franchise is the “home” franchise and gets two advantages in the fixture:

1) To decide whether to include a tag match in the fixture

2) To pick a stipulation for a match of their choice.

Most matches will be ten minute time limit matches (although Mr Hall reserves the right to vary match lengths if the matchup warrants it)

Each owner picks their lineup blind. While the matchups will not then be altered, Mr Hall reserves the right to change the order of matches to produce the best possible event, and to pick other matches to fill the card.

The road agent WILL NOT order the result of the match (Exception: Mr Hall might in the event of a stipulation match clearly favouring one wrestler. In that case good old fashioned dice will be rolled :) ). A team scores one point for a win, nothing for a loss or a draw.

The Franchises

[These franchises are available to be managed and/or named by readers if they desire (priority to Dunton Card holders), the player draft will be held in next few days]

Each franchise consists of a personality, a manager, five male wrestlers and one female wrestler

The four franchises are:

Eagles (face franchise, owned by Philip Bescott)

Tigers (face franchise, owned by Robert Etchinson)

Sharks (heel franchise, owned by Randy Garcia)

Devils (heel franchise, owned by Ken Flanagan)

Schedule

January: Tigers vs Devils

Feb: Eagles vs Sharks

April: Sharks vs Tigers

May: Devils vs Eagles

July: Devils vs Tigers

August: Sharks vs Eagles

September: Tigers vs Sharks

October: Eagles vs Devils

November: WWL Grand Final (between best Face and best Heel franchise)

The Growing Pains of RDW

Corporal Punishment should have been a happy young man.

About to turn 21 and head booker of the improving Red Dragon Wrestling company and with the moral and financial backing of the smartest men on the planet he had just earned a promotion to Corporal Punishment. His wrestling skills were coming along nicely and he even was dating the smoking hot Bethany Hurst, so why the worried frown?

He couldn't put his finger on it but instinctively he could feel the change for the worse in the locker room atmosphere and he figured out that at the heart of the trouble was Ken Flanagan and his "card school". He had tried to get close to the poker players in order to find out more but Flanagan was not letting "the boss's snitch" anywhere near the card table.

From the little he had gathered it looked several people were winning and losing pretty big sums at the table, but rarely was "Cuddly Ken" among the losers. Flanagan may know very little about wrestling but he clearly knows his way round a poker table. Red Dragon on the other hand was winning but also losing big. The Corporal did not know exactly who and how much, but what was emerging was that Flanagan held markers on several of the roster.

Punishment went to Dunton Hall but the guru of grappling was clearly distracted by the forthcoming Welsh Wrestling League. "The locker room is YOUR responsibility", he growled," you want the responsibility, it time for you to show the roster your management skills. Unless of course you would prefer to just be a wrestler.....?"

The Corporal took the hint and moved swiftly out of the office. He thought his best hope was to speak directly to Red Dragon man to man. The Welsh Warrior was more than happy to speak to the head booker but he had only thing on his mind:

"I want a title shot!" he demanded "That title is mine, the company was mine and it will be again!"

Punishment stood his ground. "There is no way you are getting a title shot anytime soon. There are at least four wrestlers ahead of you in the pecking order. Come back when you have put a winning streak together."

Dragon looked deflated. Punishment looked at him again and realised here was a man who knew that all those tough bouts were catching up with him. Dragon made to leave, then turned round:

"What if I put up the rights to my name? To transfer over all rights to the name "Red Dragon" to the company? I will stake my professional name against a title shot for the Dragon King at Night of Champions"

This seemed an awfully big decision for the young head booker. Part of him hated exploiting Dragon's obvious gambling addiction, but the manager in him realised that here was a chance to remove a thorn in Mister Hall's side at a stroke.

He stretched his hand out to Red Dragon. "Deal. You lose and you will sign over all rights to the Red Dragon name before you leave the arena"

Night of Champions II Card

Night of Champions II Dec 2011 card (to be resolved Monday 6pm)

Nigel Svensson v Red Dragon for Dragon King title

Red Dragon has jumped the queue to get another shot at the title, but at what cost? Lose and he has to give up his wrestling name. Can the stakes get any higher

Draco Macbeth vs Menace in a first blood match

Menace has a nice new contract ($800 a show) but that makes him very expensive. As the company's top earner he really ought to be in line for a title shot. Macbeth is no slouch and should provide a stiff test for the rainbow kid.

Cannonball Logan vs Glen Ward

This is the kind of match Ward should be winning if he wants to stay in the title hunt.

Dartmoor (Punishment & Heath) vs Smooth Criminals (Stefan Raynor and Axl Grease)

Two new tag teams: partly a run out and partly trawling for chemistry

DJ Turtle vs Trance for the Young Dragon title

Trance has got the experience to take this belt but has he the will?

William Macbeth (Suicide Agent) vs Rave

Two new signings. Who is going to make a good first impression?

Prediction Contest Summary

Nigel Svensson v Red Dragon for Dragon King title

Draco Macbeth vs Menace in a first blood match

Cannonball Logan vs Glen Ward

Dartmoor (Punishment & Heath) vs Smooth Criminals (Stefan Raynor and Axl Grease)

DJ Turtle vs Trance for the Young Dragon title

William Macbeth (Suicide Agent) vs Rave

Agree with you about the du Ponts (and Walker who appears to be the third member of their gang) but I am not going to cross Mister Hall and his requirements for wrestlers to have 35 psychology.

And as for Stefan Raynor, the beauty of the Welsh Wrestling League will be that the road agent will not be determining the winner (well, not often). So it may well give some workers a chance to break out from the job squad,

Thinking Red Dragon keeps his name here

On more money, plus Macbeth is a tag guy

The Angry Man wins again

Dartmoor (Punishment & Heath) vs Smooth Criminals (Stefan Raynor and Axl Grease)

Should be an easy win

DJ Turtle vs Trance for the Young Dragon title

Turtle is better, again Trance is a tag guy

Prefer Macbeth

Night of Champions II (Att:67)

William Macbeth defeats Rave 32/E+

Two debutants both showing ring rust but a decent rating even so. Macbeth always had the edge in class here.

Angle: Hall and Turtle lead an eight man face-off 41/D-

DJ Turtle defeated Trance to retain the young dragon title 27/E

Disappointing effort, especially from Trance. It is early days but he has not impressed so far in RDW.

Angle: Hall rants at workers 37/D-

Dartmoor defeated Smooth Criminals 30/E+

Oh happy day! Two rookie tag teams head out there, primarily to give the four of them a bout, and Heath and Punishment gel from the opening bell. They have GREAT chemistry. An interesting dilemma now for the RDW booking team, should Heath and Punishment be treated as tag specialists for next few years?

Glen Ward defeats Cannonball Logan 30/E

A straight forward tap-out win for Ward against the jobber Logan. He screams "I should be facing Svensson!" to the record crowd and while they boo and hiss themselves silly, the angry man may just have a point.

Angle: Hall rants at workers 38/D-

Menace defeated Draco Macbeth in a first blood match 32/E+

A distinctly unimpressive match from both of them, especially Menace. A brawler who does not like a brawl based match? Menace really needs to work on his technical skills to justify his big salary. He wins with ultimate rejection finisher but this will not have pushed him higher up the pecking order.

Main Event: Red Dragon versus Nigel Svensson in a name vs title challenge 43/D

A repeat of the first Night of Champions main event. Corporal Punishment clearly suspects interference is likely as the head booker takes up guard position at the base of the entrance ramp. The match starts and it is as good as last year, but RDW have been raising the bar throughout 2011 so perhaps we have a right to expect more.

Red Dragon looks much sharper than last month but after an initial flourish from him, Nigel starts to gain the initiative. The Welsh warrior goes for a missile drop kick and misses, and Svensson pounces on the Dragon’s arm. The armlock gets cinched in but somehow Red Dragon manages to get close enough to stretch a foot out and touch the ropes. Punishment looks surprised: surely the bigger Svensson should have been able to keep the lightweight in the middle of the ring?

Quelle Surprise! Frisby comes rolling down the entrance ramp but the Corporal does not wait for an explanation and lays into one of Flanagan’s thugs. Unfortunately it was a decoy: Ken Flanagan appears from out of the record crowd and uses what looks suspiciously like a knuckle duster on Svensson. Down goes Svensson and the Welsh Warrior goes for the frog splash and hits it. 1-2-3 and we have a new champion!

Svensson looks dazed, Red Dragon is going crazy with delight in the ring and Punishment looks bemused. The psychologically astute head booker starts to wonder: Why did Referee Baker not signal the DQ, and even allowing for the brass knuckles the legendarily tough Svensson has a better chin than that?

All that speculation is immaterial: the result is in the books and Red Dragon is once again the Dragon King, and Flanagan’s thugs have their first bit of gold.

Overall: 38/D

Notes:

$2000 profit this month plus new tag team chemistry found. However I would not like to be Corporal Punishment reporting tonight’s events to Mister Hall....

Critical Goal achieved: not in debt at end of 2011

Prediction Contest Results

Night of Champions II Results- Dec 2011

Occasional Z 6/6

Boltinho5/6

Jaded 5/6

Excellent work from all of you, but Occasional correctly predicted the main event and he wins another "You are Dunton Hall" Card. For the tiebreak, Johnny Highspot has an impressive momentum of 64.

I will be taking a break for a day or two to give card holders input on the draft of the inaugural Welsh Wrestling League.

I have rolled my RTG end of year event and as it would immediately cause me to fail a critical goal I have been taking the liberty of assuming that Mr Hall will allowed me to delay it a month or two.
