<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>In December I had no contracts to deal with, but we did say farewell to a couple of my favorite workers. First off was Steven Parker who was leaving to concentrate on his other contracts. We were just the low promotion on the totem pole and got the boot for lack of a better term. I’m not bitter about it, because I understand Steven’s decision. He’s welcome back here whenever he wants to come back. The second person we had to temporarily say goodbye to was KC Glenn. I had signed him to an exclusive pay per appearance contract, which worked out well in the states. I never even thought about Japan. WEXXV offered to take KC on their most recent tour, which was a huge opportunity. The only problem was that he had to break his agreement with us to go. I gave him my blessing and told him we’d get another deal back together when he was done with the tour. That’s all I had in December, but here are the notes I took from around the industry.

Recent News

- All Canada Pro Wrestling made the jump to small size.

- 4C and RIPW agreed to a working agreement with each other.

- Sadly, only a few months after opening, EXODUS 2010 succumbed to financial losses and closed their doors.

- Rob Reynolds, a quick hard-hitting lightweight, debuted this month. His history as a kick boxer shows through with his variety of kicks supplemented by head first drops and risky top rope moves. He should be able to enjoy some success if he is given the right guidance and opportunities.

- The Pilgrim also debuted this month. You have to dive into this kid’s background to find out what he’s really about. He looks like a chubby kid that was always picked last on sports teams, but he actually has impressive cardio and capable brawling skills.

- Black Hat Bailey announced his retirement at the age of 49. In his career he enjoyed numerous championship reigns. He held the TWL Tag Team Titles three times with Black Hat Richards in the early 1990s. In 2000 he won the SWF Tag Team Titles with Enforcer Roberts. He also enjoyed three reigns as SWF North American Champion in the late 1990s. He held the DAVE Extreme Title in 1993 and most recently held the NYCW Empire Title as he retired.

- JD Morgan officially retired at the age of 42. He has been suffering from knee problems for years and finally gave in to the pain. The English born wrestler is most known in the states for his time with DAVE where he enjoyed three reigns as Extreme Champion. He also won the DAVE Tag Team Titles with Chris Caulfield and held the DAVE Brass Knuckles Title. In the UK, he held the MOSC UK Championship four times. In the most recent years he enjoyed a reign as PSW Champion in 2008 and PSW Tag Team Champion with Nelson Callum right up to his retirement.

- Former two-time NOTBPW Women’s Champion April Appleseed retired from wrestling at the age of 38.

- John “Nemesis” Campbell returned to the business after a hiatus. He hasn’t signed anywhere as of yet, but his participation as a road agent, manager or personality is eagerly anticipated.

- April Appleseed remains involved in wrestling as she opened her own dojo.

- The DeColt Power House lost its head trainer when Jack DeColt parted ways with CGC.

Recent Contract News

- Steel was called up from RIPW to the SWF main roster. I’m waiting to see how much Richard pushes this body builder type.

- American Elemental signed with PSW on a PPA deal.

- Just a week after his father returned to the business, Ash Campbell was called up to the SWF main roster.

- Steve Frehley left SWF and signed a PPA deal with CGC.

- Antonio “Champaign Lover” Marquez signed with RIPW along with Dazzling Dave Diamond.

- Davis Wayne Newton was released from his SWF Contract and promptly signed a contract with NYCW. I’m waiting on my phone call to be returned.

- Topher Smith won the ACPW Canadian Regional Title from Mario da Silva.

- Jayson Van Pelt captured the ACPW Junior Heavyweight Title from El Diablo.

- Steve Flash began his second reign as NYCW Empire Champion when he defeated the retiring Black Hat Bailey.

- Ryan Powell and R.K. Hayes teamed together to win the NOTBPW Tag Team Titles from Omar Brown and Harlem Haynes.

- Teddy Powell won the PSW Championship from Frankie Future.

- The PSW Tag Team Titles were left vacant upon JD Morgan’s retirement.

- In a most questionable move, RIPW retired their main championship belt and introduced the International Title which remains vacant.

<center><table width=55%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>January wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for MCW, but it was a huge month for me. The first five students to enter into my pro wrestling class were ready to be out in the wrestling world. Jay gave me the okay to sign them all to pay per appearance contracts on a probationary period. When we met for our monthly creative meeting, I knew the first thing Jay and Marv were going to want to see was profiles of all five men. So along with the normal monthly business packet I put together, I attached five bios with pictures. Before I get into the details of the business meeting, let’s take a look at each man, shall we?

Bradley Blackburn

Bradley is a 20 year old, Middleweight wrestler who stands six foot three inches and weighs in at 235 pounds. Bradley has impressive charisma and a solid base of skills right out of training. He chose to play the “Man on a Mission” gimmick, wanting to give off a feeling of intensity and keep viewers watching his methodical destruction of opponents. He’ll get that chance once we know we can get behind him and push him up the card.

JT Daft

Jonathan Thompson is six feet one inch tall and weighs in at 215 pounds. He came into his training wanting to wear a mask and found his gimmick in that of a crazy man. His style is that of a cruiserweight and he employs a lot of high flying to go along with some inventive strikes. Watching him work on his gimmick the last few weeks has been entertaining to say the least.

Mikey Romano

Mikey stands six feet three inches and weighs in at 225 pounds. He has come into the business playing a Guido/Jersey Shore type character and can do it well despite having grown up in Chicago. At 23, he’s one of the older members of the class, but still has plenty of time to season into a good worker.

Niko Baric

Niko, 23, is six feet five inches tall and tips the scales at 260 pounds. He’s the brute to come out of the class. He “plays” a European man utilizing his true Yugoslavian heritage as a basis. He gives off the mob hitman feel and could be the dominate force in any company once given time to season.

Ryan Walker

At only 19 years old, Ryan has the most time to capitalize on his career. I’ve dubbed him “Inevitable” and he is using the nickname coming into the business. He stands at six feet three inches and weighs in at 240 pounds. He is right on the cusp of having the often fantasized triple threat of skills. If he gets the right breaks, Ryan will be a big star in the business.

When the three of us met at my apartment for the monthly meeting, they did just as I had predicted. We spent nearly an hour going over the bios I had made up. Jay and Marv both picked my brain about each man and I gave them my honest opinions about each one. All five guys would continue to come to training on the normal schedule for at least another three months. I finally got their focus off of the students and we got down to business. In December, we just didn’t bring in as much money from the miscellaneous areas and that reduced our profit for the month to about $2000. It was still more money, though. Next we turned our attention to the economy and industry. The economy was still trending downward, rated at 48% strength compared to 51% the month before. The industry was still declining as well, rated at 63% strength compared to 66% last month. It was evident we were entering a recession and I knew that would take a toll on wrestling. We didn’t talk too much about it. Instead we moved on to creative plans. I had to break the news that one of our top stars was going to be leaving the company at the end of the month. I wasn’t happy about it because he gave me no real reason other than his contract was expiring. I hoped in the future we’d be able to work out another deal. I decided to give him one last hurrah to send him off though. Talks then turned to our future programs. We needed some good stuff for the future and we had to start thinking about the Road to Glory. We talked for nearly three hours and finally settled on a card for our January event and our future plans. After they left I went to work on the poster for Dawnings.

<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>I wish I could say that the hours leading up to Dawnings were uneventful and relaxing. If I did, I’d be a liar. None of it was bad, but I still had a major issue to deal with. As I walked into the locker room, I overheard Kirk James and Ultimate Phoenix of all people discussing Harley Davidsons. I had pegged Kirk as a motorcycle rider, but not Phoenix. The next big thing I noticed was the returning Davis Wayne Newton, fresh of his contract from SWF, sitting with Steve Flash. I butted in and found out that Davis was worried he wasn’t good enough to make it in the business because of his short stint with SWF. Steve was being very supportive and explaining the ways of Richard Eisen. By the time I walked away, Steve had offered to take Davis under his wing. A guy like Steve Flash mentoring Davis was nothing short of superstar in waiting. Finally, the big issue I had to deal with was Matthew Keith and his near truckload of alcohol. Kegs, fifths, handles and cases were aplenty in our locker room. I had to be the bad guy to put my foot down and tell the guys that they couldn’t open any of it until their participation for the night was done. Even then I limited each man to three drinks until the show was over. Then it was open bar. They seemed to respect my wishes. Soon enough it was seven o’clock and our first show of 2011 was at hand.</font></td></tr></table>

Five of those were with my students and the sixth was bringing Davis Wayne Newton back following his stint with SWF. - Blockbuster debuted this month. He is a six feet five inch musclehead. He is very limited in the ring; so much in fact that CGC didn’t sign him to a contract when he graduated the DeColt Power House.

- Jon Jetson retired at the age of 46. He is best known for his stint with CGC where he held the Tag Team Titles three separate times in the early 90s; twice with Ed Monton and once with our own Steve Flash.

- Atlas appeared on a local TV show and let it slip that he and John Greed cannot stand each other.

<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3> Jay, Marv and myself met at Jay’s place for our February business meeting. The traffic was horrible due to a snow storm the night before into the morning. Winter driving was the only thing I hated about our area. At least I wasn’t living so close to Lake Michigan anymore; no more lake effect snow! We spent a little time chatting about life and sports along with other subjects but we decided to get on with the meeting. Our first order of business was our financial report. January was a rough month for us. We still turned a profit, but despite an increase in ticket prices it was only $600 in profit. I really needed to talk to Jay about the money goal he had set in front of me. I had until the end of the year to do it, but it just wasn’t feasible. I’d have to work something out with him. Next we moved onto the state of the economy and industry. The economy’s slide had slowed a bit this month. It was rated at 46% strength compared to 48% last month. It was still trending downward though. The industry had slowed its trend as well, sitting at 61% strength compared to 63% last month. I hoped they would level out soon. Next up we went to work putting solid creative plans into effect. I knew where I wanted to go with four programs and laid them out to Jay and Marv. They were received well and we were set to put them in place. That meant it was time to come up with a card for Whatever It Takes. Before we knew it, we had plans for every man we had under contract and I knew it would be an expensive night. Alas Jay seemed okay with it and we agreed on the card. When I got back to my apartment I fired up Photoshop and went to work on the posters.

Or will Steve’s new demeanor carry him to another successful defense?

Ultimate Phoenix vs. Jack Griffith vs. Frankie Perez vs. Fumihiro Ota

This is nothing more than a match for bragging rights. Four of MCW’s top names battle it out to see who the better man is. Will Jack Griffith or Fumihiro Ota get out of their respective funks? Or will the momentum built up by Frankie Perez or Ultimate Phoenix carry through the match and give them the victory?

Last month at Dawnings Cameron Vessey made some comments to Aaron Fujita. It just so happened that this month the two of them were paired with tag team partners and put against one another. Will their short verbal exchange from last show carry tension into this match? One has to imagine that the return of C-V-2 will give them the advantage.

Hugh de Aske vs. Jared Johnson

Nothing to lose and everything to gain is the name of the game here. Both of these young wrestlers are looking to get their careers pointed in the right direction and a victory here wouldn’t hurt their cause. Will Hugh’s flying ability trump Jared’s technical skill?

Last month Brandon Smith desecrated the Mexican flag carried to the ring by Angel de Mexico. <center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>We didn’t have any incidents backstage at the show. That was the good news. The bad news was that The Canadian Women’s Wrestling Federation had opened up at the beginning of the month. Jason Rogers took the promotion over and scheduled their first event the same night as us. It didn’t seem like a big deal to me until a week ago. Jason started a search for a head booker and we had the perfect candidate; Marv Earnest. Marv was hired by CWWF and is not at the show tonight. I panicked for a while wondering what I would do, but Doc Messing came up and reassured me that Davis could handle things on his own. He was a decent announcer in his own right. I had to agree. In the hour or so leading up to bell time I decided to give the fans a special treat and head out to the ticket line to mingle with them. Davis Wayne Newton, Mainstream Hernandez and Frankie Perez tagged along and it really got the fans going.</font></td></tr></table>

<center><table width=45%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3> In the closing days of February I had a big decision to make. Our lead announcer and valued member of the booking team Marv Earnest had taken a job booking for the CWWF. Their first show was held the same day as ours and Marv was absent. He gave me plenty of notice that he wouldn’t be at the show, so there aren’t any hard feelings. I just had to decide if I was going to gamble on CWWF scheduling their shows differently to keep Marv around. I deliberated with Jay for the remainder of the week about this and we finally came to a decision. On the last day of February we parted ways with Marv so he could concentrate on his new project. Marv had the reputation of being a trouble maker backstage and despite the fact he never caused problems in MCW, I figured it was only a matter of time. We’ll miss him on the microphone and on the creative team. On that very same day I signed Nelson Callum to a pay per appearance deal as well. I caught wind that PSW was not going to renew his contract, so I figured I’d gamble on him. I hope he does well here. Earlier in the month I also inked Casey Valentine to an extension that would keep him with us for another year. Here are my notes from around the industry for February.</td></tr></table></center>

Recent News

- Simon Ice entered the business. He likes to combine the UK style of technical wrestling with the daredevil high flying of the modern wrestling scene in America. It makes him a unique talent and I almost tried to bring him over from Britain, but his lack of consistency in the ring made the gamble silly.

- Pat Deacon retired and left the business at the ripe old age of 65. Pat is best remembered for his time with TWL where he won their top title six times from 1973 to 1987. Most recently he was working for SWF as a road agent.

- CWWF filled their roster with a slew of signings highlighted by Nemesis, Grace Harper, Emma Bitch, Jamie Quinn, Farrah Hesketh, Nadia Snow and Principessa.

<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>Jay came over to my apartment on the first Friday of March for our business meeting. Even though he had only been a member of our creative team for a few months, Marv being absent was sort of odd. I quickly got over that feeling as my boss and I chatted about nothing in particular. Finally we decided to get down to business and started our official business meeting as we always did; looking at the financial report. Our profits were up in February, but still way less than we had been pulling in. We made $1300 for the month and the reduced profits could easily be attributed to the higher wages we had been paying at each show. I needed to cut back on worker usage in a big way, as I had been booking our entire roster for the last few shows. Marv reminded me about this and I promised I wouldn’t overspend this month. Next we moved on to the state of the wrestling industry and economy. The economy was rated at 42% strength compared to 46% the month prior. This was a huge 4% slide indicating that it showed no signs of recovery yet. The industry was rated at 57% strength compared to 61% at the beginning of February. I was startled by these numbers. I hadn’t been convinced before but the thought of both areas hitting rock bottom before they recovered was starting to embed itself in my mind. We spent a while talking about the possible consequences again. The fans were going to be less and less likely to spend their money on wrestling was our final theory. This combination could prove disastrous to wrestling promotions all across the country, but most of all to those of our size. I was becoming physically ill thinking about the effects it could have and finally suggested we move on.

That meant it was time to talk creative plans. This month we needed to solidify our plans for the Road to Glory tournament that was looming only three shows ahead. I pitched an idea to Jay that, despite our recent talks about cutting back, would increase the field of competitors from eight to twelve this year. It took a little convincing, a bit of creativity and a lot more convincing to get Jay to go along with the idea. It had the potential to tell some really great stories throughout the tournament and I’m glad he got on board. I used that to tell Jay I had exercised our talent trade options with a few companies to bring some bigger talent in for the next three shows. All of them would be eventually in the tournament come May, but I knew we needed them involved before hand to build some hype. So then I offered up my version of the Center Stage card for this month. Jay approved it right off the bat which was a relief. With the meeting done, we sat around chatting over a couple beers before Jay took off for home. That left me, my computer and my iPod to get to work designing the poster and filling in the details of our March show.

Main Event - MCW Heavyweight Title

Steve Flash has taken a turn that nobody ever thought he would; he’s turned his back on the fans. He’s recruited the help of Katie Cameron as his manager and the two have already shown their true colors, cheating to defeat Mainstream Hernandez last month. March brings another challenger in TCW All Action Champion Mikey James. Can Mikey capture another piece of gold? Or will Steve and Katie come out on top again?

Best of Five Series - Match 1

Frankie Perez vs. Ultimate Phoenix

These two men agreed to embark on a best of five match series to test their abilities. They put on a good show in the closing minutes of a four corner survival last month. This month all their energy will be focused on one another. Which man will jump out to the early advantage by winning match one?

Hugh de Aske & Kirk Jameson vs. Jack Griffith and Fumihiro Ota

One of the deadliest combinations for a young superstar-to-be to cross paths with may be born here. Jack Griffith has made his hatred of the young guns well known, but does Fumihiro Ota share his point of view? We get the chance to see this month as the two pair up against Hugh de Aske and Kirk Jameson.

MCW Alternative Title

Thomas Morgan vs. “Bulldozer” Brandon Smith©

Since his debut a few months ago, Brandon Smith has been making easy work of all the challengers to his Alternative Title. This month he faces long time veteran Thomas Morgan. Morgan hasn’t exactly made waves in his career, but it’s never too late to start. Can Thomas do that here by upsetting the champion? Or will Smith carry on and look for another challenger?

Elimination Match

Nelson Callum vs. Casey Valentine vs. Jared Johnson

The debuting Nelson Callum gets two opponents in his first MCW match. This match will be held under elimination rules where the winner will be the last man standing. Can Nelson impress in his debut? Or will one of the other two men, both familiar with the MCW style, come out as the victor?

Hey guys,

Sorry about the mini-disappearance. I've been running around for the better part of two weeks and just needed to take some time to recharge my batteries. I'm about as re-energized as I'm going to get and am ready to get back on this story. I've been trying to figure out a good stopping point around the time TEW 2013 comes out, but I'm not sure exactly how much I'll be able to do by then. I'm thinking of getting all the way through 2012 and halting the diary, but I may in fact just write up to the day of the release. Thanks for sticking with me!

<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3> The hours leading up to our March show were thankfully quiet. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t really have that many problems backstage, but it’s always nice when the boys trickle in throughout the day without major problem. It allows me to relax and go over my duties for the evening more thoroughly. I gave my students the day off as well as I figured a day of “rest” couldn’t hurt. At about five o’clock I stepped outside the building and saw a lot of fans lined up purchasing tickets. It was a good thing to see for sure. That’s when I went ahead and entered the locker room to mingle with the guys. Before we knew it seven o’clock was here and it was time to do what we do.</font></td></tr></table>

<center><table width=40%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3> After the last week of February saw the release of Marv Earnest and the signing of Nelson Callum, it was a quite month of March for me. I resigned Jared Johnson that would keep him with us into next year. Besides working out all the logistics for talent trades to fill the upcoming Road to Glory Tournament, I had nothing. So here are my notes from the month of March.

Recent News

- It was a sad day in the United Kingdom as MOSC went out of business, citing financial troubles as their reason.

- EWA rose to Regional size.

- UEW is on the search for a new head booker after Joey Beauchamp left for EWA.

- Reggie Bishop debuted this month. He is a high flier relying upon moves that wouldn’t have wowed crowds in the 80s. Despite that he is reliable and safe which means he’ll get work for the entirety of his career.

Recent Contract News

- ACPW signed Masked Cougar to a PPA deal.

- Frankie Perez left CZCW when his contract expired.

Recent Notable Title Changes (US and Canada Only)

- Lassana Makutsi and Philippe LaGrenier captured the RIPW Tag Team Titles.

- Jack Giedroyc won the SWF North American Title from Randy Bumfhole.

- Benny Benson beat Eddie Peak for the TCW International Title.

- Troy Tornado won the TCW Heavyweight Title from Rocky Golden.

- Freddie Datsun beat Peter Valentine to win the USPW National Title.</font></td></tr></table></center>

<center><table width=50%><tr><td><font face=Calibri size=3>I headed over to Jay’s apartment on the first Friday of April for our monthly meeting. The relatively early Midwest thaw was refreshing as the roads weren’t covered with snow and ice. When I got there Jay and I chatted about life and business informally for a while before getting down to business. As was usual we talked about our financial performance first. We ended the month about $200 in the hole. I never wanted to lose money for a month but losing only two hundred bucks was the way to do it. I was really worried about the money goal Jay had given me. I was 9 months from the deadline and knew there was no way I could make the financial gain he had wanted me to. I didn’t bring it up though and let the worry eat away at me. We moved on to the state of the industry and economy next. The economy was rated at 40% strength and still showed signs of decline. It was down from 42% last month. The industry was still on the decline too, rated at 55% strength down from 57% strength the month before.

We didn’t take time to worry about the possible repercussions of the industry and economy crashing and moved right in to our creative plans. We whipped up the card for our April show fairly easily and spent most of the next three hours planning out the 2011 Road to Glory. I had to convince Jay of my primary idea, but once he was on board it was smooth sailing planning the show. I hoped to give quality matches throughout the tournament, never making a match an easy pick. At about ten o’clock we wrapped it up and called it a night. I headed home to sit down with a beer and my photoshop skills to design the event flier.
