Coast 2 Coast - Monday of Week 1, January 2010

<table bgcolor="cecece" width="750" align="center"><tbody><tr><td>http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/TEW/CZCW/czcwheader.png

"...the Most Exciting Wrestling Experience From Coast to Coast!..."

CZCW Coast 2 Coast

Recorded Monday of Week 1, January 2010

Grissom Auditorium (South West)

1,656 in Attendance

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, Jonnie Perez defeated Air Attack Weasel in 8:17 by pinfall with a top rope suplex. Weasel goes to the air one two many times and Perez picks up the victory in our dark match. F+ (14)

Coast 2 Coast then goes on air. A quick video packages plays highlighting the action over the years. CZCW thanks you for the past 20 plus years and wishes you a happy new year and many more. Announcers Cliff Anderson and The Guru then introduce us to the show. They hype the night's main event, which will be Fox Mask putting his Coastal Zone Championship on the line against former champ Donne J! D (44)

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Going Coastal defeated Rich And Famous in 7:10 when Jeremiah Moose defeated Jackpot Jordan by pinfall with a High Velocity Headbutt. Rich and Famous were heavily favored and pulled some tricks out of their sleeve with Jakki outside the ring but Jeremiah Moose was on his game tonight. Moose looks like he improved his brawling and technical skills. E+ (33)

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Remmy Skye defeated Matt Sparrow in 16:38 by pinfall with a Skye Diver. Sparrow has a good following but Remmy Skye had the whole arena erupt for his entrance. Skye and Sparrow traded moves back in forth in what was the highlight of the night. D+ (50)

Cliff Anderson then announces that next week main event will feature tonight's winner Remmy Skye, the Insane Machine, and Frankie Perez in a three way for a shot at the Coastal Zone title at this month's pay-per-view Resolution. D (41)

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Fox Mask defeated Donnie J in 25:13 by pinfall with a Fox Hunter following botched interference by James Prudence. Fox Mask makes defence number 1 of his Coastal Zone Championship title. Prudence came ringside and even though Donnie J appeared to be ready to hit Death on Miami Beach, Prudence intervenes distracting the ref and forcing Donnie J to ask just what the hell he's doing. Fox Mask recovers and hits the Fox Hunter for the win. D+ (48)

The show goes off the air with a shot of James Prudence on the outside of the ring looking in on the unconcious Donnie J. He doesn't appeared upset or worried that he cost Donnie J the match, but rather has a smirk on his face. The Guru thinks Prudence just can't keep his jealousy in check and has just opened up old wounds. D (42)

Overall - D+ (47)

Five Questions with CZCW Owner, Cliff Anderson!

Recorded Monday of Week 1, January 2010

We recently had the opportunity to ask CZCW owner, Cliff Anderson five questions and here's the answers he gave us.

Q. What are these talks of a product change we're hearing?

A. It's not really a change to our product. We're just adding to what we already have. We've added some flashy high light videos for events, we'll be conducting more backstage interviews, we've spent some money this year and it's our attempt to really show off all of our talents here at CZCW. We've decided this year we'll make some small changes and see where it takes us. Our vision isn't necessarily to compete with the SWF or TCW, that would be nice, we just wanted to improve a few things and continue to deliver great and exciting matches for our loyal fans.

Q. We've heard you hired someone new backstage, who's the new guy?

A. He asked not to be in the public eye and I've got to respect his wishes. He's an old friend of mine, he knows the business well. His main role is as my personal advisor to CZCW's operations. He's the main reason we've signed some of the new talent coming in this year and we're very happy he's here with us.

Q. Who do you think will make the biggest impact in 2010?

A. There's really a long list of guys. Fox Mask is our champion, when in doubt go with the champion... but honestly we've got a lot of talent and even more talent lined up to come into the promotion. It could be anybodies year, really. The Fox is going to have a tough time hanging onto that Coastal Zone championship.

Q. Any special plans in store for 2010?

A. Actually we've got a lot of exciting things happening this year. We've added some crazy stipulation matches to some of our big events, from battle royals to huge last man standing matches. CZCW will have a lot of exciting action coming at you in 2010.

Q. Anything you really want to let our fans know?

A. We here at CZCW would just like to thank everyone for their support. This is our twentieth year in business and we couldn't have done it without you.

Gimmick: Comic Book Hero

Finisher: Fox Hunter (Stunning Face Crusher) or Fox Flip Off DDT (Top Rope DDT)

Mark "Fox Mask" Murdoch is best known to wrestling fans for being the figurehead and icon of Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling. A constant presence in the main event scene for years, "The King Of The Coastal Zone" is a six-time champion as of 2010.

A very good high flier who has criminally under-rated technical skills, Fox Mask is noted for the Japanese influence on his ring work. He has said on many occasions that he would love to compete in Japan for one of the major companies, but with the years ticking by it looks like he may never get that opportunity.

"Psyche Out" Remmy Skye is a high flier from Georgia, who has become something of a cult figure with Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling in recent years. Debuting in 2004 while just 20 years old, Skye quickly won over the fans with a combination of his oddly hypnotic charisma and his insane daredevil moves.

Skye is often referred to as the "King Of The Ladder Match", which is down to the fact that he has been involved in some incredible ladder matches over the years, especially with Fox Mask and ex-Zoner Plague. He became CZCW champion for the first time in 2008, unseating James Prudence, and is now firmly established as a major headliner and one of the top faces for the promotion.

This is a pretty good layout, I'm enjoying it. You clearly spent time working on this before you committed to posting, which, in my experience, will cause your readers to have a bit of faith in the diary. No one wants to commit to reading something that look amateurish, and this certainly doesn't! I'll be sticking around, I like what I see.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies already, I'm going to be profiling all the wrestlers like the ones above and I could use some help picking finishers for everyone. So if you got a certain wrestler that you envision doing a certain move post it and if I like it I'll put it to use.

As for the diary I edited CZCW to be 80% match/angle for both PPV and TV so that my segments don't bomb more than they already do. Match lengths were shortened to 25 15 10 for TV and 30 20 10 for PPV. I also edited the product slightly.

I'm not much for loads of writing, I'll be doing weekly results like above and I'll write a short live show for our ppvs. Predictions for the ppvs, leader after every six shows can pick a guy to push or hire.

Coast 2 Coast is on Los Deporte Hoy with a 1 hr show taped mondays. Our big events were moved to the 4th Sunday of every month. Thats all I can really think of. Help me out with some finishers!

I'd say try to download one of the Wrestling Spirit demos for the "canonical" finishing moves for some of your guys. Gives you a starting point, at least. But being CZCW, everyone better have some sort of top rope splash/dive/thing. But no 720 splash. That's Emerald Angel only. :D

Also, I'll jump on the badass-as-hell formatting. That's...I'm freaking envious, man, of what you've got started there. It's going to be beautiful looking.

Edit: Yeah, how about I SUBSCRIBE WHY THE HELL DID I NOT SUBSCRIBE EARLIER! Kinda hard to find something scanning the first page if it's on the second. Gah I'm stupid today.

And...hell, since I took the effort to find this again, I'll take the effort to bust out WS2 here. One sec...

Acid: Aside from a Fisherman's Buster, (what???) the Acid Rain Bomb is a Swanton.

Frankie Perez: The P-Clutch is a Camel Clutch w/ knee in back. The Perfect Parity, if you want to use it (which is a badass-sounding move), is canonically an "Ultimate Fisherman's Buster." I imagine it more like...well, it's gotta be something balanced, if the name means anything. But cool-as-hell. OOH! That spinning...thing...move that Claudio Castagnoli does where he gets them in an Argentine position (I think) and goes into an airplane spin, then adjusts his tights or whatever and still spins! Yeah, that's the PP.

Masked Cougar: News to me, but his finisher, the "Cougar Pounce," is apparently a frog splash. Or, y'know, THE POUNCE!!!!!111~~~ Depends where you want to go with the guy I guess.

Mainstream Hernandez: Apparently his trademark finisher is the "Apparition #14." Dunno what the hell that means, but it's a Shooting Star Press.

I still feel like a jerk for some reason. I'm going to sleep.

Yea, the formatting is fantastic. And I love CZCW so you've got me as a reader. I've never had a problem with people not doing match or angle write-ups, but my advice would be to supplement it with backstage stuff so we get a sense of the characters. Otherwise, it's just reading match recaps.

Other than that, great start, and I'll be reading.

CZCW Coast 2 Coast

Recorded Monday of Week 2, January 2010

Grissom Auditorium (South West)

1,507 in Attendance

In an extremely poor match, Air Attack Weasel defeated K-Squared in 8:14 by pinfall with an Air Attack Ace. Weasel is again in our dark match this week, this time he picks up the victory against the debuting K-Squared. E+ (31)

The show then kicks off, Cliff Anderson and The Guru hype tonight's main event. Anderson informs us it was originally Insane Machine in the three way against Remmy Skye and Frankie Perez but because of injury he won't be available tonight. Replacing him is non other than Donnie J who came close to beating Fox Mask last week if it wasn't for James Prudence's interference. The winner will face Fox Mask at CZCW Resolutions. D (45)

We cut backstage where Donnie J has arrived and is entering the arena. He passes by James Prudence and the confrontation everyone wanted to see happened. Donnie J is not happy with Prudence and he lets him know, calling him a very jealous person who can't handle his former partner and former friend's success. Donnie tells him he was the better tag partner and goes to leave but Prudence explodes, clipping his knee and then doing further damage to it with a chair before wishing DOnnie J good luck tonight. D (43)

In an extremely poor match, Rich And Famous drew with The Rock City Stars in 8:17 following a double disqualification. Ryan Turner and Stan Manna make their debut and the high rollers and the rock stars end up battling it out to a double DQ as the two teams brawl all the way to the back. E (28)

Mainstream Hernandez then debuts and cuts a backstage promo. He informs us he's had his eye on CZCW for a while now and can't wait to show the fans what he can do. The fans can't seem to wait either, this guy has superstar written all over him. D (46)

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Masked Cougar defeated The American Flash in 12:18 when The American Flash was put through a table with a Cougar Pounce. Masked Cougar makes defence number 1 of his Coastal Zone Xtreme title. Masked Cougar looked great and was never really in trouble in this one. D- (40)

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Remmy Skye defeated Frankie Perez and Donnie J in 22:47 when Remmy Skye defeated Donnie J by pinfall with a Skye Diver. This match was dominated by Perez and Skye as Donnie J was still suffering from the savage knee attack he suffered earlier in the night at the hands of James Prudence. Remmy Skye will now meet Fox Mask at CZCW Resolution for the Coastal Zone title. D+ (51)

A quick run down of next week's action is shown, hyping a tag team title defense between Shoot Club and Going Coastal. E+ (35)

Overall - D (44)

Size: Lightweight

Style: Cruiserweight

Gimmick: Fan Favorite

Finisher: Death on Miami Beach (Senton Bomb)

Donnie J is a good all-round wrestler, mixing high flying cruiserweight action with under-rated technical wrestling. He is probably still best known to most fans for his years with TCW, where he was part of the cruiserweight division and tag team partner of Jimmy P in The Fly Boys.

When Donnie was released in 2005 he made his way to CZCW with his partner, and soon had established himself as a big name and captured the CZCW championship. That led to Jimmy turning on him, and their heated rivalry became a major part of the company's ongoing storylines. As of 2010, Donnie is a former two-time champion of the promotion.

Masked Cougar is a hooded high flier who is one of the brightest prospects in North American wrestling. A huge fan of Mexican lucha libre wrestling, Cougar bases his look, character, and some of his ring work on that culture. However, it was in Japan that he got his first break, as he spent a few years touring with World Level Wrestling, and was quite successful.

When his time with WLW was over in 2006, he returned to the States, now a much improved worker. He took his smooth, fluid, fast-paced style of wrestling to Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling, and has fast become one of the promotion's most beloved stars and a vital part of their roster.

CZCW Coast 2 Coast

Recorded Monday of Week 3, January 2010

Grissom Auditorium (South West)

1,609 in Attendance

In an extremely poor match, Brendan Idol defeated K-Squared in 7:44 by pinfall with an Idolizer. Brendan Idol makes his debut here and makes quick work of K-Squared in our first dark match of the night. E (28)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Matt Sparrow defeated Tempest Appleby in 8:30 by pinfall with a Bird Brain Buster. Matt Sparrow picks up some much needed momentum after easily handling Tempest Appleby. E+ (32)

Coast 2 Coast then kicks off with a short recap of last weeks show. It highlights the brutal assault from James Prudence on Donnie J. Mainstream Hernandez's debut and Remmy Skye winning the main event to earn the right to face Fox Mask at CZCW's Resolution. They run down tonight's show which will feature the debut of Canadian star Davis Wayne Newton and the tag titles are up for grabs as Shoot Club defends against Going Coastal. D+ (47)

James Prudence then hits the ring and he has that same smug smirk on his face as he tells us he did what he had to do last week and that Donnie J is truly crazy if he believes he was the better tag partner. He says infact he'll prove it, tonight! Donnie J then comes out still selling last week's knee injury. Donnie gets a nice pop and Prudence challenges Donnie J to pick a partner and face him in a tag match later tonight. Donnie naturally accepts and our main event of the evening is set. D+ (47)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Happy Elwood in 8:14 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex. Newton didn't get much of a pop but he's got supreme talent and looked great in dismantling Happy Elwood. E+ (34)

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Shoot Club defeated Going Coastal in 13:27 when Marc Speed defeated Jeremiah Moose by submission with a Cross Armbreaker. Shoot Club make defence number 1 of their Coastal Zone Tag Team titles. California Love Machine looked really off his game and Marc Speed made Going Coastal pay as he and Al Coleman pick up the victory to keep their titles. D (44)

In a match that had some good action and average heat, James Prudence and Mainstream Hernandez defeated Donnie J and Steve Flash in 22:43 when James Prudence defeated Donnie J by submission with a Prudential Pain Plan after blatantly cheating. Steve Flash looked to have the match won but Rockin' Ryan Turner and Stan Manna run in and attack Flash which allowed Prudence and Hernandez to double team Donnie J and eventually force him to pass out from pain with the Prudential Pain Plan. D (44)

Afterwards all four men are in the ring, Prudence gets a microphone and stands over Donnie. He tells him he doesn't have to be a better tag team partner when he has his own alliance. He tells the crowd they're now looking at Quadruple Platinum and the rest of CZCW better take notice. D- (39)

Overall - D (43)

Flash, Hernandez, and Newton lead new additions in CZCW!

Tuesday of Week 3, January 2010

The arrival of Steve Flash last night in CZCW shocked many as the star partnered up wth Donnie J to take on James Prudence and his partner of choice, Mainsteam Hernandez. At one point in the tag match, the two new stars went head to head and traded move for move. The crowd loved it with chants of CZCW! On a night that also saw Davis Wayne Newton make his debut, CZCW is looking very strong going forward. The influx of new workers shows that owner, Cliff Anderson is serious about his claim of really stirring things up in CZCW in 2010.

Other notable signings include Brendan Idol, Hell Monkey, and Fumihiro Ota!
