Thanks/Rep

<p>I know what your talking about. Don't know if this forum has that capability or what it takes to get it, but I do like them. If I could, I would put a Thanks reply to you.</p><p> </p><p>

For those that don't know exactly what it is, it is a way to thank a poster without posting it. It just leaves a message with names of people that said thanks. I like that a whole lot better then the grading stars or whatever.</p>

I often wish I could 'like' posts without actually commenting. Its all facebook's fault <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I have to say I don't like the idea. Why can't you just post thank you if someone has made a cool mod or helped in some way? I don't like any form of grading on posts because it usually doesn't reflect the post (ie people giving 1 star just to give it 1 star despite 50 others giving it 5) which is why I tend to stay away from it. If something in a post is useful or that I can use I'll take the time to say thank you, or comment to the poster. That's just my opinion.

Just a time saver is all. Nothing to add, but to say thanks for the post.

I don't like the idea of people being able to one star others, and that has been done as friendly jokes, or just because two people don't get along.

With the "thanks/rep" thing, that's all there is. People like the post, and the post get's a lot of praise, while other posts won't. There is no "one star", you just don't thank them if you don't like it. No way to be "mean" anonymously that way. Quite often it is used by people that were going to say something similar, or were trying to say something similar and couldn't think of how to say it correctly. It's also a plus in that it saves a whole lot of posting (and pages... Looking at WWE/TNA/MMA threads) when all your saying is "I agree".
