<table border=0 width=710><tbody><tr><td>Eisaku Higashikuni founded the Osaka based Dragon Fighting Championships (DRAGON) in the spring of 1998. DRAGON features smaller fighters, and the rules are set up to encourage highly technical fights, as ground strikes are outlawed entirely making the promotion a haven for submission-based competitors.

DRAGON began holding small shows around the Kinki region, which included Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto. As the sport of MMA grew rapidly in Japan in the early 2000s behind the world's leading promotion ALPHA-1, DRAGON built on this momentum and by 2008 they were holding events throughout the country. With a PPV deal throughout Asia and a TV broadcast deal in Japan, DRAGON's popularity reached new heights and by the start of 2012 they were widely considered the #4 promotion in the world.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<tr> <td>Chan Kim Huat wins DRAGON Lightweight Title

<img src="http://i46.tinypic.com/vxisyr.gif" width=150 height=150 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Nagoya JAPAN -- Malaysian Freestyle Submissionist Chan Kim Huat (22-6) became the new DRAGON Lightweight Champion defeating Egyptian grappler Ahmed Mohammed Faraq (17-5) January 7th, 2012 at DRAGON.98 in Nagoya. Chan Kim Huat was relentless in his takedown attacks despite Faraq’s attempts to keep the fight standing. After a well placed outside leg trip, Huat took the back and applied a rear naked choke for the win at 8:48 of the opening round. The former ALPHA-1 Lightweight champ wins his third fight in a row and becomes the 16th DRAGON Lightweight Champion--derailing Ahmed Mohammed Faraq’s six fight winning streak handing him his first loss since 2009.

The 2010 J-1 Koshien kickboxing champion Misao Nijo (2-0) won his second career MMA match defeating former DRAGON Welterweight champion ‘Mr. Saikyo’ Kimihiro Ohayashi (22-13). The 21-year old's victory over veteran Ohayashi lends some legitimacy to Nijo’s recent decision to abandon a promising kickboxing career to pursue MMA.

<img src="http://i46.tinypic.com/6pvszl.png" width=150 height=150 align=left vpsace=5 hspace=5 border="0"> Top Team Japan’s Eikichi Shichirobei (8-5) climbed the DRAGON Lightweight ranks in the fight of the night against Irish leg-lock specialist Seth O’Breen (35-13). Kobo Sawamatsu’s (12-5) guillotine submission over Tokyo kickboxer Morihiro Kiski (12-11) bumped him up four positions to #4 in the promotions Lightweight rankings. Other action saw Kuma Ichigawa (10-8) upset American wrestler Quincy Cole (24-16) while the internationally ranked Swedish jiu-jitsu competitor Lorens Olsen (4-1) won knockout of the night against Englishman Dom Yorke (14-7). Duncan Thistlewood (18-11) and Scott Lewis (3-0) also picked up wins in the opening fights.

DRAGON Fighting Championships next event, Way of the Dragon will be a televised special airing on All Japan TV February 10th from the Fukuoka Athletics Stadium. The show will feature Brazilian Tarcisco Dantas (14-10) facing the 2008 Japanese Judo Olympian Tsubasa Sakuro (5-2). In the co-main event, former DRAGON Lightweight champion Fujimaro Hidaka (17-10) will meet amateur wrestling standout Nariakira Yoshikawa (11-6).

Ronald Wu (9-2) will defend the DRAGON Welterweight crown against an unnamed opponent at DRAGON.99 on March 17th and a big event is planned for DRAGON.100 that will take place on Sunday April 26th from the Tokyo Civil Colosseum.

<tr> <td>Former Japanese Olympic Judoka to Headline DRAGON TV Special

<img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/28auyv8.jpg" width=150 height=150 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Osaka JAPAN -- DRAGON Fighting Championships next event Way of the Dragon takes place on February 10th, 2012 from the Fukuoka Athletics Stadium in Kyushu Japan. The show will be broadcast on the All Japan TV network.

In the main event, 2008 Japanese Judo Olympian Tsubasa Sakuro (5-2) will meet Brazilian Tarcisco Dantas (14-10) in a Welterweight battle. Tsubasa Sakuro finished 7th place in the Men's 73kg (Lightweight) Judo weight class in Beijing before making the move the MMA. He signed on to the Tokyo based OLYMPUS FS promotion in 2009 and won his first three fights before the year ended. In January 2010 he challenged OLYMPUS FS Lightweight champion Yoshino Ooka in a bout that ended with Ooako finishing the former Olympian with a Kimura in a very close match. In 2011, Tsubasa Sakuro moved to the DRAGON promotion where he lost his debut against Misao Nijo before bouncing back and defeating former DRAGON Welterweight champ Fumiaki Hiraoka in August. Tarcisco Dantas is a ground and pound specialist who fights out of the Combat Team Curitiba from Brazil. Dantas started out his career in Japan, fighting for years in ALPHA-1 and also appeared twice in DRAGON picking up victories in late 2003 and early 2004. After defeating the highly touted Lightweight Kafu Bunya in 2007, Dantas is experiencing the worst losing streak in his long career as he’s currently stuck in a five fight slide.

<img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/alhfyv.gif" width=160 height=232 align=left vspace=5 hspace=5> Former DRAGON Welterweight champion Fujimaro Hidaka (17-10) is set to meet Nariakira Yoshikawa (11-6) in the co-main event. Fujimaro Hidaka is a very good kick boxer who likes to stand and trade punches but he’s been steadily improving his ground game over the last couple years. He had a great 2011 in DRAGON picking up back-to-back wins over Tessai Satou and Kobo Sawamatsu. Nariakira Yoshikawa started his career out stateside fighting in GAMMA for 2-years earning a respectable 5-3 record. Since joining DRAGON in 2009, Yoshikawa has been near perfect losing only once in six fights.

The card will also feature Featherweight wrestler Ryota Sugimoto (14-6) taking on judoka Ashihei Bando (16-6) and in a Lightweight bout, Brazilian Lazaro Campos (15-5-1) will face off against former RATP Lightweight champ Sammy Newton (15-7). The main card will be rounded out with a Featherweight match between Swiss national jiu-jitsu champion Franz Zinsli (4-0) and the highly touted up-and-comer Hiroharu Fukuzawa (7-1).

<tr> <td>Former Olympian Tsubasa Sakuro shines in DRAGON MMA

<img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/b6oobp.jpg" width=200 height=285 style="float: left;" border="0" vspace=8 hspace=8> Fukouka JAPAN -- It took just four minutes for the former Olympic Judoka Tsubasa Sakuro (6-2) to takedown Brazilian Tarcisco Dantas (14-11) and lock in a rear naked choke to win the main event of DRAGON’s Way of the Dragon TV special. At just over the one minute mark, Sakuro picked up Dantas and slammed him hard into the ground ending up in the guard. The former Olympian took little time in then passing the guard and forcing Dantas to give up his back. Despite the Brazilian’s valiant attempts at fighting off the rear naked choke, Sakuro was too well positioned and Dantas had no choice but to tap. It was the sixth win in eight career fights for Tsubasa Sakuro who looks to have transitioned well into the sport of MMA from Judo.

In the co-main event, former DRAGON Lightweight champion Fujimaro Hidaka (17-10) won his third straight fight dropping Nariakira Yoshikawa (11-7). After splitting the first two rounds, the bout looked as though it was going to go to the judges. But with less than one minute left, Hidaka burst from the pocket and caught Yoshikawa with a barrage of big punches trapping him against the ropes. Yoshikawa collapsed to the ground as the referee pulled away Hidaka stopping the fight. It’s been a long road for Hidaka who lost the DRAGON Lightweight title in December 2006 but has since gone 5-2. With this win he’s back in the top contender picture with a potential title shot later this summer.

In other action, Featherweight Ashihei Bando (17-6) edged out a split decision win over Ryota Sugimoto (14-7) and former ‘Rumble at the Palms’ Lightweight champ Sammy Newton (16-7) defeated Lazaro Campos (15-6-1) by unanimous decision. 20-year old Swiss national jiu-jitsu champ Franz Zinsli (5-0) remained unbeaten after scoring an armbar submission on Hiroharu Fukuzawa (7-2) and American wrestler Eli Harris (11-10) broke a two fight losing streak beating Keitaro Makino (9-17). Ennosuke Nozaki (2-2) and veteran Gilberto Sabbatini (24-18) also picked up victories in the opening bouts.

The promotion returns with DRAGON.99 taking place on Saturday March 17th, 2012 from the Sapporo Sports Park in Hokkaido. Welterweight champion Ronald Wu (9-2) will make his first title defense since defeating Brent Crane for the belt last October. He’ll face off against former champ Chad Zoff (19-9) who dropped the title to Crane in July of last year.

<tr> <td>Welterweight Champ Ronald Wu To Defend Title Against Chad Zoff at DRAGON.99

<img src="http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/WMMA2%20renders%20for%20Mr%20Ryland/WMMA3Render22.gif" width=200 height=285 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Osaka JAPAN -- DRAGON officially announced the March 17th, 2012 lineup which would be headlined by Welterweight champ Ronald Wu (9-2) making his first title defense against former champion Chad Zoff (19-9). Ronald Wu was highly ranked in the Indonesian indigenous martial art of Pencak Silat before training for several years alongside the Indonesian National Boxing Team. He joined the DRAGON promotion in 2008 and by April 2010 had won his first Welterweight title. Wu re-captured the crown last October when he defeated Brent Crane in a close split decision. Canadian Chad Zoff is a versatile jack-of-all-trades MMA fighter who joined DRAGON in 2010 after an extensive career in ALPHA-1. At DRAGON.91 in May of last year, he beat reigning Welterweight champion Kazuya Endo with a guillotine just 1:45 into the first round. However, just two months later Zoff would make his first title defense in an unsuccessful bid losing to Brent Crane.

In the the co-main event, two of the promotions best Featherweights meet when Kanji Togo (29-9) faces Hisamitsu Sasaki (13-4). Despite being one the top ranked Featherweights in the world, 40-year old Kanji Togo announced earlier this year that this would most likely be the final fight of his career. He first won the DRAGON Featherweight title back in July of 2008 and then again in July 2010. He went on to successfully defended the title three times before being defeated by current champion Yoshiro Makamiro last August. Hisamitsu Sasaki is a submission specialist who made his return to DRAGON last May after spending the past five years in the China based Warriors of War promotion. Sasaki has only lost twice in his past twelve fights and is on the verge of securing a title fight.

<img src="http://i47.tinypic.com/28i2k54.jpg" width=191 height=165 align=left vpsace=5 hspace=5 border="0"> In other action, Welterweight Marihito Katsumata (11-9) will meet Shigekazu Shiroyama (5-1). The “IQ Sandtrap” Katsunori Nakahara (16-5) will be looking to rebound from a recent loss to Featherweight champ Yoshiro Makamiro when he takes on former pro-boxer Baiko Asuhara (15-6). American wrestler and former XCC Lightweight champion Jamie Hewitt (15-12) will do battle with two-time DRAGON Lightweight champ “The Berserker” Oda Shinashi (19-4) and wrestler Kyle Sagal (10-9) will face off against Braydon Miller (21-6). The opening bouts will see Salvador Santos (12-8) take on Van Jolson (12-11) and Featherweight Namboku Ki (2-0) meet Clarence Savage (2-2).

The event will take place from the Sapporo Sports Park in Hokkaido and will be broadcast live in Japan on J-Remote1 PPV.

<tr> <td>Legendary Li-Kong Ho Signs With DRAGON

<img src="http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/Li-KongHo.gif" width=200 height=200 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Osaka JAPAN -- Legendary Indonesian submission master Li-Kong Ho (27-0) will step back into the ring after a two year absence to face DRAGON Featherweight champion Yoshiro Makamori (26-5) in the main event of DRAGON.100 Sunday April 26th, 2012. The announcement came as DRAGON officials confirmed Li-Kong Ho has signed a multi fight non-exclusive contract with promotion.

Li-Kong Ho’s last outing was in March 2010 when he retained the Warriors of War (WOW) Featherweight title defeating Hisamitsu Sasaki (13-4). Since winning the WOW Featherweight crown in September 2002, Ho appeared only sporadically throughout the years and has defended the title only five times over the past decade. However Li-Kong Ho has an extremely busy schedule outside of the fight game; making movies and television appearances as he's a cult hero across Asia. Despite his lack of fights over the past ten years, Ho is still widely thought to have one of the best ground games in all of MMA and arguably he's the greatest Featherweight of all-time. Most agree if he was to strictly focus on MMA he would no doubt rank as the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

DRAGON Founder and President Eisaku Higashikuni told the press, "We are extremely pleased to be able to come to terms with such an amazing

athlete. Li-Kong Ho is a true legend and we hope the marquee match at DRAGON 100 between him and Makamori-san will delight and excite our fans".

<tr> <td>Zoff Becomes 2-Time Welterweight Champ; Kanji Togo Retirement Fight

<img src="http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u8/Actarus96/WMMA%202%20Grey%20Dog%20Dynasty/ChadZoff.gif" width=200 height=285 style="float: left;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Hokkaido -- Canadian Chad Zoff (20-9) won his second DRAGON Welterweight championship after defeating Ronald Wu (9-3) using an armbar submission at 4:28 of the second round. Ronald Wu started well, scoring a huge flying kick stunning Zoff early on. In the second round, Zoff used under-hooks to setup a trip and then take control on the ground. Although Wu was able to escape a arm triangle attempt, he couldn’t fend off Zoff’s armbar forcing the champ to submit.

In the co-main event, popular Featherweight Kanji Togo (29-10) lost his retirement match to the “Japanese Punk” Hisamitsu Sasaki (14-4). Togo controlled the action early on, almost ending the fight with an arm triangle in which somehow Sasaki was miraculously able to escape from. Midway through the second with Sasaki being controlled against the ropes, the “Japanese Punk” managed to find some space and apply a standing guillotine. Togo was caught off guard and his the hold fully applied had to tap out. After the bout, Kanji Togo gave a speech in which he thanked his family, fans and gym for their support over the years. Hisamitsu Sasaki now makes a strong case for a title shot against the winner of next month’s DRAGON.100 main event between Yoshiro Makamori and Li-Kong Ho.

In other action, the young Shigekazu Shiroyama (6-1) picked up “KO of the Night” honors scoring a vicious second round knee on Marihito Katsumata (11-10). Featherweight Katsunori Nakahara (17-5) bounced back after a recent loss to champ Yoshiro Makamori and defeated Baiko Asuhara (15-7) while former Lightweight champ Oda Shinashi (20-4) downed Jamie Hewitt (15-13) by unanimous decision. Lightweight veteran Braydon Miller (22-6) had little trouble beating Kyle Sagal (10-10) and Van Jolson (13-11) and Clarence Savage (3-2) both won the opening bouts.

The next scheduled event will be the promotions biggest to date, DRAGON.100 which takes place from Toyota Stadium in Tokyo. The main event will see Featherweight Champion Yoshiro Makamori (26-5) defend the title against the legendary Li-Kong Ho (27-0).

<tr> <td>DRAGON 100th Special, Li-Kong Ho versus Makamori

<img src="http://i46.tinypic.com/fazn5x.jpg" width=200 height=285 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Osaka -- It was 14 years ago when on Sunday April 5th, 1998 DRAGON Fighting Championships held their first event from the 300 seat Nagahama Hall in Osaka. Since then the promotion has grown into one the top Mixed Martial Arts organizations in the world. And on Sunday April 26th, 2012 from the 20,000 seat Toyota Stadium in Tokyo, the promotion will celebrate their 100th major event!

As previously announced, the main event will feature DRAGON Featherweight Champion Yoshiro Makamori (26-5) making his second title defense against the legendary Indonesian submission master Li-Kong Ho (27-0). Yoshiro Makamori is currently ranked as the #3 Featherweight and #14 pound-for-pound fighter in the world today. The Yokohama native has won four straight fights and has lost only once in his past seven bouts. He defeated Katsunori Nakahara (16-5) in his last outing this past November to retain the title. Makamori is an excellent submission artist who have also developed great standup striking skills and has become known as the bad boy of Japanese Featherweight MMA scene. Li-Kong Ho’s last outing was in March 2010 when he retained the Warriors of War (WOW) Featherweight title beating Hisamitsu Sasaki (13-4). Li-Kong won the KDMFC Featherweight championship in 1998 and has been the WOW Featherweight champ for ten years dating back to 2002. He’s a cult hero across Asia and arguably the greatest Featherweight of all time.

<img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c98/chris_kotw/BCF/JakeKeane.gif" width=150 height=150 style="float: left;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5>In the co-main event, Thailand's undefeated Lightweight Jonathan Wu (9-0) faces off against England's Jack Keane (42-9). Jonathan Wu is the former Warriors of War Lightweight champion winning the title in 2007 and successfully defending the belt three times until he left the promotion in 2010. Wu is a highly regarded BJJ practitioner and was nationally ranked. He’s also considered the #1 Lightweight in the world and ranked as a top 5 pound-for-pound fighter. Veteran Jack Keane is a former BCF and DRAGON Lightweight champion. He started his career in his native England with BCF winning the Lightweight crown in 1996. He successfully defended the title five times before losing the belt in 2002. In 2005 he signed with the U.S. promotion GAMMA and stayed for four years earning a respectable 9-3 record. Keane joined DRAGON in 2009 and won the Lightweight title after beating Oda Shinashi in September 2010. His last fight was in March of last year when he dropped the title to Lorens Olsen. Jack Keane is a tough veteran who is well rounded and is dangerous on both the ground and his feet.

Two of the promotions top Welterweights collide when Nathan Chambers (29-8) takes on Kazuya Endo (10-3). Nathan Chambers is one of the biggest heels in MMA, his cocky persona and big mouth have made him one of the most well known fighters in the world. Chambers is a former GAMMA, KBIL and FLB champion and joined DRAGON in 2010. He’s got great wrestling skills and huge punching power, a combination few Welterweights have been able to withstand. Kazuya Endo has spent his entire career in DRAGON. He’s a three time Welterweight champion winning the title in 2008, 2009 and most recently in 2011. Endo was a national Judo champion in high school and has a ground game that has evolved over the past couple years.

In other bouts, Russian Oral Jankowski (14-2) will be looking for his seventh straight win when he debuts against a former popular Japanese freestyle wrestler in Moronobu Ito (5-5). Dom Yorke (14-7) will meet former pro-boxer Kobo Sawamatsu (12-5) while a couple highly touted Featherweight prospects step into the ring as Naosuke Kagabu (5-0) faces off against Vasya Petfovic (4-0). More highly regarded prospects are set to meet in the opening bouts when undefeated Italian Fidelio Giordano (10-0) takes on Melih Bayram (4-0) and Jeffery Wang (5-0) meets Masahide Tono (6-0).

The event will take place from Toyota Stadium in Tokyo and will be broadcast live in Japan on J-Remote1 PPV.

<tr> <td>DRAGON 100 Results, Li-Kong Wins Featherweight Crown

<img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/209o86e.jpg" width=200 height=285 style="float: left;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Tokyo -- Over 12,000 fans packed into Toyota Stadium on Sunday April 26th, 2012 to witness the 100th numbered show of DRAGON Fighting Championships. Many celebrates where on hand at ringside including the likes of Pro-Wrestling legend Tadiyuki Kikkawa and MMA Hall of Famer Hassan Fezzik.

The event was capped off by the DRAGON Featherweight champion Yoshiro Makamori (26-6) facing Indonesian submission master Li-Kong Ho (28-0). Early in the first 10-minute round, both fighters tried to get a feel for each other, eventually Li-Kong Ho caught a body kick and was able to takedown Makamori. As the round came to close, Ho was able to lock in an arm triangle but Makamori managed to break free. In round two, both fighters stayed on their feet with Makamori unsuccessfully trying to score strikes. Ho scored a late take-down as the clock ran down with Makamori is being smothered against the ground by Ho. In the third round, Makamori really started to show his exhaustion and did little in the way of offense and Ho continued to hunt for take-downs. Early in round number four, Ho muscled Makamori against the ropes wearing him down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. Ho then scored a quick take-down as Makamori pulled guard. Looking to create space for a leg-lock, Ho tried to break the guard apart. As he isolated a leg, Ho locked in a toe hold that forced Makamori to tap out! Li-Kong Ho wins his 28th straight fight staying undefeated and in the process becomes the new DRAGON Featherweight Champion.

<img src="http://i45.tinypic.com/8zl5dd.jpg" width=191 height=165 style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5>In the co-main event, it took Jonathan Wu (10-0) under three minutes to finish off Jack Keane (42-10). Right off the opening bell, Wu dove in trying to grab a leg knocking Keane off guard and forcing him to pull guard. Wu took little time to pass the guard to take side control before attempting to take the back. With both hooks in and great control of the body, Wu locked in the rear naked choke for the win. After the bout Jack Keane announced that after 52 professional fights he was retiring. Jonathan Wu, who is now considered one of the top Lightweights in the world will look to late summer for a shot at the title.

In other action, Kazuya Endo (11-3) was able to secure an armbar with less then a minute left in the match to defeat 'Black Superman' Nathan Chambers (29-9). At the post-event press conference Chambers said that this could very well have been the final fight of his career and that he is seriously considering retirement. Welterweight Kobo Sawamatsu (13-5) picked up his third straight win beating Dom Yorke (14-8) with a rear naked choke midway through the final round. In the trio of opening Featherweight bouts, Naosuke Kagabu (6-0) edged out a split decision over Vasya Petfovic (4-1), Fidelio Giordano (11-0) stayed unbeaten dropping Melih Bayram (4-1) and Jeffery Wang (6-0) defeated Masahide Tono (6-1) in the opening bout.

The next event, DRAGON.101 will take place on Saturday May 19, 2012 from the Matsue Sports Park in Chugoku. Although no details were given on the upcoming show, DRAGON President Eisaku Higashikuni said an announcement would be made shortly in regards to the card.

<tr> <td>INSPIRE Reborn?

<img src="http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080623230620/tew/images/8/8d/INSPIREcurrent.jpg " style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> Tokyo -- Tadiyuki Kikkawa, former owner of the MMA-influenced Wrestling promotion INSPIRE (Inspire Diversity Group International) and President of DRAGON Fighting Championships Eisaku Higashikuni held a joint press-conference today in Tokyo. Tadiyuki Kikkawa announced he was reviving his old promotion and re-branding it INSPIRE MMA. Kikkawa said the new organization would be MMA only, no Pro-Wrestling, and would consist of a single Openweight division. DRAGON President Higashikuni said his company has agreed to partner with Kikkawa to help focus on the logistics and production of staging events and because DRAGON only employs smaller weight classes, he doesn't see INSPIRE MMA as a competitor to DRAGON.

Little details on the rules and format of the new promotion were revealed however Kikkawa said the aim was to hold the first show in late August or September.
