Really glad that you're enjoying this NWA diary. I agree that this is a great time for the NWA. As far as 'stepping on my toes' goes? You may create any type of diary you want. I might even be able to take the time to check it out. :)

NWA POWER HOUR!

Friday Week 4 September 1989

Location: Cameron Indoor Stadium (Mid Atlantic)

Attendance: 10,000

Overall Rating: B

TV Rating: 1.97

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/paule.jpg

[The NWA Power Hour opens with the arrival to the ring of manager Paul E. Dangerously. Dangerously has his large cell phone up to his ear as he walks down toward the ring and only hangs up on it when he enters the ring. He is given a microphone and begins talking about Fall Brawl coming up in only two days where his Samoan Swat Team is going to take on the Road Warriors. He says that everyone knows about the past and history of the Road Warriors. He even admits that they ruled tag team wrestling in the 1980's. However, he states that we are coming into the 1990's and that decade will be ruled by the Samoan Swat Team. He even goes as far to say that the SST has better management than the Road Warriors ever did.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/paulellering.jpg

[it is no surprise that these words bring out the manager of the Road Warriors: Paul Ellering. 'Precious' Paul enters the ring and Dangerously takes a few steps back, stating that he is not a wrestler and does not wish a physical confrontation with Ellering. Ellering laughs and says that he is too smart to go after Dangerously. But in two days at Fall Brawl he warns Dangerously that if he tries to interfere, that he will not be as nice as he is right now. Ellering turns to exit the ring and Dangerously comes running in behind him, swinging the cell phone -- ducked! Ellering was ready for it! Ellering kicks Dangerously in the gut -- DDT! Paul Ellering just laid out Paul E. Dangerously! What a way to kick things off here in Cameron Indoor Stadium!]

Doom vs. The Fantastics

[Our opening contest here on the Power Hour features the return of Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, The Fantastics. This team are former two time NWA United States Tag Team champions. But they are going up against the power of the masked team known as Doom along with Woman and this large man that showed up last week. This was an extremely short match that was mostly dominated by Doom. Doom I chokes Bobby Fulton on the ropes and then comes, splashing down on him, drawing the ire from the crowd. Woman looks on smiling as the two Doom members completely destroy The Fantastics. The end comes when Tommy Rogers is caught with a Flying Shoulderblock by Doom I. The cover is made: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winners: Doom (Via Pinfall @ 2:12)

Match Rating: C-

[We are taken to the backstage area and one of our famous hidden cameras. This time, we catch an argument between 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt. Gilbert accuses Missy of being the one that Lex Luger was talking to last week on World Championship Wrestling. Gilbert says that the hair was unmistakably hers. Missy denies the allegation, arguing that she was with The Steiners last week during that time. Gilbert tells her that he doesn't believe her and that he is already feeling betrayed by the woman he cares about. He ends up storming out, leaving a visibly distraught Missy Hyatt.]

Match #2

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/bambambigelow.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/rickysteamboat2.jpg

Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Ricky Steamboat

[Our second match of the night is another extremely short match as 'The Beast From The East' Bam Bam Bigelow comes in to face Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. Steamboat showcases his technical ability in bringing Bigelow down for several armdrags, a dropkick and an armbar that begins to wear down the larger opponent. Bigelow gets in a few shots during the match, including a headbutt that gains him a two count. However, Steamboat is the one that came back in control at the end. He brings Bigelow down with a stiff chop and then heads for the top turnbuckle -- Flying Body Press! Steamboat hooks the leg: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Ricky Steamboat (Via Pinfall @ 3:53)

Match Rating: B

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/gordonsolie.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/MichaelHayes7.jpg

[We are taken to a pre-recorded interview, next, with Gordon Solie interviewing Michael 'P.S.' Hayes. Hayes talks briefly about defending the NWA World Tag Team titles at Fall Brawl against The Steiners but spends the majority of the time focused on his non title match with Ric Flair tonight. He says that he has gone up and down the road with Flair many times. However, tonight, The Nature Boy is headed right into the Badstreet section of Atlanta, Georgia and he is going to suffer at the hands of a Freebird.]

Match #3

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/DoryFunkJr3.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/brianpillman.jpg

Dory Funk, Jr. vs. Flyin' Brian

[A match that had solid in-ring action but not a lot of heat features Flyin' Brian going one on one with Dory Funk, Jr. in the semi main event. Dory worked to keep this match at a slower pace than Flyin' Brian wanted it. Pillman, though, shows he can work a technical style as well, surprising the veteran Funk. Brian takes down Funk with a dropkick and then points to a sign that reads: 'Brian's Flyin'!' Brian heads up to the top turnbuckle and leaps but Funk moves out of the way of a cross body block. Funk takes control and he goes for the Cloverleaf but Pillman kicks him into the turnbuckle. Flyin' Brian grabs the trunks of Funk and rolls him up: 1 -- 2 -- 3! Flyin' Brian gets the win in what could be termed a minor upset!]

Winner: Flyin' Brian (Via Pinfall @ 7:17)

Match Rating: D+

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/theadorerlong.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/mikeshaw2.jpg

[Flyin' Brian rises to celebrate but when he moves to climb the turnbuckles he is yanked down by Norman The Lunatic, who rumbled down to the ring along with Teddy Long. Norman picks up Brian and body slams him down. He drops a big elbow and the crowd boos. Norman raises his arms up and then he is handed the large key that was around the neck of Teddy Long. Norman brings the key down to the forehead of Flyin' Brian, who cries out in pain! He drives that key into the flesh of Pillman, busting him open just a small amount. He releases and gives the key back to Teddy Long as Long leads him from the ring to more boos from the crowd.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/terryfunk2.jpg

[A music video is shown at this point hyping up the #1 contender to the NWA World title: Terry Funk. The music video features the song 'Man With a Harmonica' by Ennico Morricone. It shows his past, including the time that he drove Flair into the table with a piledriver. It also shows him defeating Jack Brisco for the NWA World title. It shows multiple Piledrivers on various wrestlers and then ends with the Funk Spinning Toe Hold.]

Match #4

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/MichaelHayes7.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/ricflairc.jpg

Non Title

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Ric Flair

[Our main event contest this evening features the leader of the Fabulous Freebirds taking on the NWA World Heavyweight champion. The match is considered a superb bout with great wrestling and a sizzling crowd. The contest begins with Ric in control, lighting up the chest of Hayes with those knife edge chops and then working on the knee of the Freebird. Flair makes the first mistake when he goes for the Figure 4 far too early and he gets kicked off by Hayes and into the turnbuckle chest-first. Hayes gets in control, not being above cheating as shown by him choking Flair on the ropes and then running The Nature Boy's eyes across the top rope to blind Flair. Hayes sends Flair outside the ring and joins him out there. He sends Flair to the ring post, sliding back in and nearly scoring a countout victory. But Flair makes it in just a second before the countout.]

[The momentum remains in the corner of Hayes as he brings Flair down with a vertical suplex and then sends Flair to the corner. Flair flips up and over the corner, running along the apron and climbing the turnbuckles. Hayes catches him on the turnbuckle and sends him flying with a big slam. Hayes scores a two count following the slam and then calls for the DDT! Hayes grabs Flair by the hair and yanks him in -- Freebird DDT -- NO! Flair grabs the ropes and Hayes falls to the mat on his own. He suddenly grabs his knee, having tweaked it on the way down. Flair takes advantage, bringing Hayes to the center of the ring. He bounces off the ropes -- running knee drop! Flair does a strut and releases a 'Whoooooooo!' Minutes later, he grabs Hayes by the legs -- Figure 4 Leglock! Hayes struggles in the center of the ring, reaching for the ropes. He shakes his head. He doesn't want to quit. Flair pushes up on his hands to add more pressure to the hold. Hayes fights -- and then submits! He has no choice!]

Winner: Ric Flair (Via Submission @ 8:46)

Match Rating: A

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/gordonsolie.jpg

[The crowd cheers this huge victory by Ric Flair! Flair is given his NWA World title belt and as he exits the ring he is met by announcer Gordon Solie. Solie congratulates Flair on his victory and he just smiles, giving a little strut. He talks about a party going down in Durham tonight right here at Duke University! Then the focus of the interview turns to two days at Fall Brawl when Flair defends the NWA World title belt against Terry Funk in an 'I Quit' match. Flair says that they are going to put on a great match but he is not going to quit. He says that Funk will have to kill him first.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/garyhart.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/terryfunk2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/greatmuta.jpg

[Gary Hart leads Terry Funk and The Great Muta down to the ring. Flair backs up and slides inside the ring, daring Funk and Muta to join him inside. As Funk and Muta begin to climb onto the apron, Flair is joined by Sting! Funk and Muta look at each other for a moment and then to instructions from Gary Hart. Gary waves them off as the odds are even this time. Flair gives a strut and releases a 'Whooooooo.' Sting releases an 'OWWWWWW!' to the little Stingers in the audience. Ric Flair and Sting stand tall in the ring to close the show.]

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!

Saturday Week 4 September 1989

Location: Charleston Civic Center (Mid Atlantic)

Attendance: 10,000

Overall Rating: B+

TV Rating: 1.42

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/ricflairc.jpg

[For the second week in a row, World Championship Wrestling opens up with the theme to 2001: A Space Odyssey and the arrival of the NWA World champion Ric Flair. Ric walks down to the ring, wearing more of a scowl than he usually has when he enters the ring. He steps inside and immediately asks for and is given a microphone.]

Ric Flair

"Since you refuse to answer my phone calls, Ole, I have to come out here in front of the entire wrestling world and call you out. I know that you're an Anderson so you're not a coward. So, Ole, come on down and walk that aisle."

[Ric leans back against the corner and waits patiently. The theme for the Horsemen begins to play.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/oleanderson.jpg

[Out comes Ole Anderson. He is in the same bad mood as Ric Flair is as he walks down the aisle. He steps into the ring and is given a microphone.]

Ole Anderson

"Ric, we don't have to do this in public. You and I need to go to the back and we can talk."

Ric Flair

"No, Ole, it's obvious we do need to do this in public. It was in public last night when you left me high and dry in the ring. I had to rely on the Stinger to watch my back. Ole, you're a Horseman. But I had to rely on a non Horseman to watch my back."

Ole Anderson

"I had already left the building that night, Ric. I was getting the party set up."

Ric Flair

"That doesn't answer why you didn't return my phone calls or why I didn't see you last night."

Ole Anderson

"I don't need to be accused of something I didn't do."

[Ole turns to leave the ring but Ric grabs him by the arm. Ole shrugs off the grab and looks Ric in the eyes. The two men have a stare down in the ring for several long tense moments. Then Ole turns and exits the ring with Ric Flair looking after him. After Ole disappears to the back, Ric finally exits the ring and heads to the back, looking visibly disturbed.]

Grudge Match

Doom vs. The Steiners

[Our opening contest is one that definitely has the fans on their feet as Doom approaches the ring. The two masked men remain unidentified by Jim Ross and Gordon Solie. However, Gordon says that he has the name of the large man that is with them. He is known as Nitron. The Steiners have the crowd absolutely going crazy. The match itself features great action and a good crowd in back and forth fashion. Scott shows some good moves with a tilt-a-whirl suplex and then an overhead belly to belly suplex on both members of Doom. Doom comes back with hard hitting clotheslines on both members of The Steiners. A catfight breaks out outside the ring between Woman and Missy Hyatt. This brings forth a distraction that nearly costs The Steiners the match. A fan raises a sign up reading: 'TEAM OF DOOM!' But Scott was able to make a hot tag to Rick, who brought down both members of Doom with Steinerlines. Rick looks strong in the ring, setting up Doom 1 for a top rope bulldog. Before he can leap, though, Nitron reaches up and shoves him down to the mat, causing the disqualification.]

Winners: The Steiners (Via Disqualification @ 8:16)

Match Rating: B+

[The bell sounds but that doesn't mean that the fight is over. Nitron enters the ring and catches both members of The Steiners with big boots. The two members of Doom look to clean up after their ally and they are soon joined inside the ring by the NWA World Tag Team champions The Fabulous Freebirds! Rick Steiner catches a Freebird DDT from Michael Hayes. Jimmy Garvin gives Scott Steiner a Brainbuster! The crowd boos as The Freebirds have control and even Missy Hyatt is left laying after Woman slams her to the mat. We are less than 24 hours until Fall Brawl. Can The Steiners recover by then?]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/luger.jpg

[After the ring is cleared, the crowd raises in boos when the NWA United States Heavyweight champion 'The Total Package' Lex Luger walks out to the ring. He ignores the slaps from the fans, shaking them off before he climbs the stairs and enters the ring. Lex is handed a microphone and he tries to ignore the 'You suck' chants from the crowd.]

Lex Luger

"First of all, you people need to shut up when I am out here. I am sick and tired of you fans yelling every time I come out to the ring. As a matter of fact, I have made the decision to get some counsel. Introducing to you the brand new counsel for the United States Heavyweight champion."

[The anticipation builds as they wait and see who it is. Will it be the blonde from last week?]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/JJDillon.jpg

[The crowd is in absolute shock and boo loudly when James J. Dillon walks from the back dressed to the nines in a grey suit. He enters the ring and shakes hands with Lex Luger before adjusting his tie as he is handed the microphone from the Total Package.]

James J. Dillon

"Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Luger. I will make sure that you don't regret it as you are going to get the best of everything. I understand that the two of us did not get off to a great ending the last time we were together. However, bygones are bygones and I am glad to return as a manager here in the NWA and the manager of the United States Heavyweight champion. Tommy Rich, I know that you have a United States title shot at Fall Brawl tomorrow. We are legally obligated to keep that title shot. However, this will be your one and only title shot. We need the best to face this top talent. However, at the moment, it is time to go."

[JJ Dillon nods to Lex Luger and then motions toward the ropes. He grabs the ropes and holds them open for the United States Heavyweight champion. Lex exits the ring and JJ Dillon stands by the side of The Total Package. The two men walk to the back, ignoring the boos and catcalls from the fans.]

Match #2

Scott Hall vs. Norman Smiley

[Our second match of the evening features the man with the open challenge for Fall Brawl: 'Magnum' Scott Hall. Norman Smiley tries to do a little dance at the beginning of the match but all he gets is a toothpick in his face for his trouble. The match is dominated by 'Magnum,' and is an extremely short match. Hall brings Smiley over with a fallaway slam in the center of the ring. Norman grabs his back and then becomes another victim of the Hall Buster bulldog. Hall makes the cover and gains a three count.]

Winner: Scott Hall (Via Pinfall @ 2:31)

Match Rating: C

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/tomzenk.jpg

[but Scott Hall decides he isn't done and wants to a second a message to anyone who may accept his open challenge at Fall Brawl. He picks up Norman Smiley and slaps him across the face, drawing boos from the crowd. The arrogant Scott Hall hits Norman with another Hall Buster bulldog before Z-Man comes running in from the back! Z-Man sets up for a Superkick but Hall quickly exits the ring instead. He does a little wiggle of his fingers, showing he's 'so scared' of the Z-Man. And it looks like we know who is going to be facing Scott Hall at Fall Brawl! It will be the debut of the Z-Man!]

[We move from the ring to a pre-recorded interview where Teddy Long is standing by with Norman The Lunatic. Norman runs his fingers through his hair as Teddy holds the key up. Norman grunts and backs away slightly, scared of the key that Teddy holds up.]

Teddy Long

"Norman, tomorrow you face off with Flyin' Brian. You have to win the contest or it's back to the asylum for you. Do you understand? Brian, you've got an insane man coming to face you tomorrow night. I can guarantee a victory for Norman The Lunatic."

[Norman growls, almost as though he is unhappy at being called a Lunatic. He grabs Teddy Long but then sees the key and backs off, whimpering slightly. Teddy adjusts his shirt and we head back to the ring.]

Match #3

The Samoan Swat Team vs. Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas

[Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas are announced as former World Tag Team champions in the WWF back in 1983 but now they've decided to come where the big boys play in the NWA. And they have some tough boys to play with as their opponents are none other than the SST, The Samoan Swat Team. This is another extremely short match that sees Paul E. Dangerously provide a perfect distraction outside the ring to help his SST dismantle Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas. Samu takes Rocky Johnson outside the ring and hits a vertical suplex on the pads outside. Inside the ring, Fatu catches Tony Atlas with a headbutt that lays him out inside the ring. Fatu heads to the top turnbuckle as Samu enters the ring. Samu launches Fatu off the top turnbuckle and he lands on 'Mr. USA' with a Big Splash off the top turnbuckle. Fatu gets the three count easily.]

Winners: The Samoan Swat Team (Via Pinfall @ 5:20)

Match Rating: C+

[Paul E. Dangerously enters the ring to celebrate with the Samoan Swat Team but if they thought they were done tonight they are definitely wrong. Out from the back comes Paul Ellering leading the Road Warriors! Animal and Hawk hit the ring and the fight is on between the Samoan Swat Team and the Road Warriors! Punches, kicks and headbutts are the rule of the day, as even Paul Ellering and Paul E. Dangerously get in on things! It takes a fleet of security team members led by Doug Dillinger to get things back in order. But these four men will meet tomorrow at Fall Brawl!]

[We go to one of our hidden camera videos this evening on WCW. This one is in the locker room of James E. Cornette and The Midnight Express. Cornette is standing in the middle of Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane. The two men look across at each other and Cornette addresses both of them.]

James E. Cornette

"Tonight, the Midnight Express gets things back on the right track with a victory. Bobby, Stan, I don't care what problems the two of you have had before. Tonight is a new day. We are forgetting about the fact that lately we've been going down the porcelain throne. We are the guys who break all the rules and win all the titles. The two of you are the best tag team in the history of professional wrestling. It's time to get your attitudes on right. Now, let's get to the ring."

[bobby and Stan look across from each other. Stan offers a handshake and Bobby accepts. James Cornette smiles from where he's standing. He motions the two men and they move to exit the locker room with Cornette bringing up the rear.]

Rip Rogers and Dean Malenko vs. The Midnight Express

[Our fourth match of the evening features another strong tag team contest as 'The Hustler' Rip Rogers teams with Dean Malenko against the newly focused Midnight Express. The world can thank James E. Cornette for helping with the focus of Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane. Once again, they look like a well-oiled machine as a tag team, though this is an extremely short match. Rogers and Malenko don't get a whole lot of offense as this is about the Midnight Express. Stan Lane catches Rogers with a double underhook suplex. Then he tags out to Bobby Eaton and the two land the Veg-O-Matic! Eaton makes the cover and gets the big victory on the road back possibly toward the NWA World Tag Team titles.]

Winners: The Midnight Express (Via Pinfall @ 5:08)

[We are taken to another hidden camera in the backstage catering area of the Charleston Civic Center. Tommy Rich comes on the screen first, moving to the catering section to get some food when he is assaulted from behind by Buzz Sawyer! Buzz rams Tommy's head against the catering table and then headbutts him from behind. Tommy throws a couple of back elbows, thinking it's Lex Luger, surely. He turns and looks shocked at who it is but the shock quickly turns to anger. The brawl continues between the two until Doug Dillinger and the security team arrive on the scene, breaking things up.]

The Skyscrapers vs. The Rock 'N' Roll Express

[Our fifth match of the evening is also extremely short but sees a lot more offense by both teams, rather than just by one. The Rock 'N' Roll Express prove that they have something left in the tank to give as they send both members of the Skyscrapers out of the ring at one point and get the crowd celebrating their momentum. That momentum was cut short, though, when Sid Vicious no-sold a dropkick by Robert Gibson inside the ring. The Skyscrapers, having withstood the initial speedburst of the Express, prove dominant once again. Inside the ring, Sid Vicious floors Robert Gibson with a Power Bomb. Outside the ring, Dan Spivey sends Ricky Morton against the ring post. Sid makes the cover and gets the three count victory.]

Winners: The Skyscrapers (Via Pinfall @ 5:07)

NWA Television Title Match

Sting defends vs. Mike Rotundo

[Our semi main event and this is a great one as the NWA Television title is defended by Sting against the man from Syracuse Mike Rotundo. The bout features great action and a good crowd and is a true back and forth contest as Rotundo scores several near-falls early on. Rotundo is actually in control for the majority of the match, using his technical skills to keep the high flying champion in check. It also doesn't hurt that he has Kevin Sullivan outside the ring, who interferes liberally in the match. Rotundo scores a near fall following a clothesline from the top rope. The fans, though, begin to chant 'Sting' over and over again, trying to get their favorite back in. The roar of the crowd seems to energize the champion and he comes back from a rear chinlock attempt with several elbow shots and a clothesline on Rotundo. Sting maintains control and then sends Rotundo to the corner. He charges in -- Stinger Splash! Rotundo spins and falls to the mat. Kevin Sullivan leaps on the apron but he takes a punch from Sting! Sting grabs the legs of Rotundo -- Scorpion Deathlock! Rotundo struggles to reach the ropes but he is forced to submit!]

Winner: Sting (Via Submission @ 7:35; Sting retains the NWA Television title)

Match Rating: B

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA%20Goal/SteveWilliams2.jpg

[The crowd roars their approval of this solid and successful title defense by the man called Sting! Sting releases Mike Rotundo immediately and is handed his belt. He raises it up to cheers from the crowd but those cheers turn to boos when Sting is attacked from behind by Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan rams Sting's head into the turnbuckle and then Rotundo catches Sting with a low blow! The Varsity Club begin putting the boots to Sting until down to the ring comes Steve Williams! Dr. Death throws out clotheslines to both Varsity Club members! He catches Rotundo with a three point stance tackle as Sullivan rolls out of the ring. Sullivan yanks Rotundo out and the two stare up in the ring at Dr. Death, who stares them both down.]

Terry Funk, Lex Luger and The Great Muta vs. Ric Flair, Tommy Rich and Ricky Steamboat

[What a main event we have this evening! A match that has excellent in-ring action and great heat from the crowd sees all six men involved early and often. The match opens in a pier six brawl that ends with Funk, Luger and Muta outside the ring staring up at Flair, Rich and Steamboat. The momentum shifts when things slow down and Ricky Steamboat is considered the face-in-peril for the majority of the match. The Dragon just cannot seem to make the tag and when he does, there is a distraction by Gary Hart or JJ Dillon so the referee doesn't see the tag. When Funk goes for the Texas Piledriver, though, Steamboat is able to reverse it with a back body drop. With the momentum shift, a fan raises a sign reading: 'Steamboat is super!' The two men slowly move toward their corners and Steamboat tags in to Tommy Rich and Funk tags in Lex Luger. The match devolves into another pier six brawl at this point with the crowd getting into it, rumbling the stadium with their feet stomping and their claps. The end comes when Gary Hart gets up on the apron as the referee is distracted by a brawl outside the ring. Hart looks to strike Rich but Rich ducks and the chair shot hits Lex Luger instead! Tommy Rich knocks Gary Hart off the apron and turns to Luger, sending him to the ropes -- Lou Thesz Press! The referee turns around as Rich hooks the legs and the three count is scored in what could be considered an upset victory!]

Winners: Ric Flair, Tommy Rich and Ricky Steamboat (Via Pinfall @ 11:07)

Match Rating: A

[The brawl continues with the wrestlers in the ring. Joining this brawl are Sting and Buzz Sawyer! Things are absolutely wild in and around the ring as Ric Flair throws chops to the chest of Terry Funk, The Great Muta strikes Sting with kicks and Buzz Sawyer and Lex Luger double team Tommy Rich! Gary Hart and James J. Dillon get in on the action and at the end of the night it ends with the majority of the faces down on the mat and outside the ring as the J-Tex Corporation and Lex Luger get the upper hand all the way around. The crowd boos as the show comes to a close with things looking gloom for the fan favorites. Can they turn things around tomorrow at Fall Brawl? Tune in live and only on pay-per-view to find out!]

RE: My Diaries

It's hard to believe that TEW 2013 is right around the corner. In somewhere around 2 months or so, we will mostly be making the jump from TEW 2010 to TEW 2013. That gives me around that amount of time to work on and focus on these diaries that I have going here on TEW 2010.

I have made the decision to end the prediction contests/24 hour warnings on my diaries. The final one being the one here on the NWA 1989 diary. It ends at the end of Fall Brawl. The reason being is that when I or anyone else does the prediction contests it limits the amount ahead that one can go in the game itself. I have to be ready to award a prize to the winner so I can't jump too far ahead. Therefore, the prediction contests/24 hour warnings will be removed from my diaries.

But that is not to say that I am pulling away from reader interaction. I absolutely love the interaction I have with my readers in every single one of my diaries. If I didn't crave that fan response, then I would just play the game itself and not write a diary. They say to write diaries for yourself and I agree to an extent. However, diaries are written to elicit a response. So I welcome any and all responses to the shows that I receive. From time to time, I will have reader interaction polls and ask questions of my 'viewers.' Not to mention that I would enjoy each and every response to how a show goes when I post it, both the positive and negative.

Very soon, I will be technically running three diaries at once. And there is a reason for that. I have thought about why I jump around so much when it comes to diaries. Some of that reason is that sometimes I enjoy writing old-school, which is where the NWA 1989 diary comes in. Sometimes I enjoy writing current day, which is where the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw diary comes in. Sometimes I enjoy writing creatively in a different and creative universe, which is where my Cornellverse diaries generally come in. So, therefore, instead of limiting myself to one section, one mod, I'm gonna live in all three and write for each one when I feel that in my heart. Thank you all for reading thus far and I hope that I can continue to count on your support.
