Chris Holdsworth def. Aljamain Sterling via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

DJ Linderman def. Ovince St. Preux via. TKO (2:32, Rd 1)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Chris Horodecki vs. Jamie Varner

-Nothing in rd 1. 10-9 Varner.

-Yawn. 10-9 Varner.

-This fight was terrible. 10-9 Varner.

Jamie Varner def. Chris Horodecki via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Alessio Sakara vs. Michael Kupier

-Nothing major. Kupier landed more strikes on the feet, making Alessio really work. Towards the end, Kupier landed a nice judo trip that allowed him to end the round in dominant position on the ground. 10-9 Kupier.

-Sakara came out with more intent in this round. He was the one that was engaging and making Kupier work. Feeling the round slip away from him, Kupier scored a late take down that might have stolen the round for him. 10-9 Kupier.

-Sakara was gassed and it showed when Kupier scored a take down and he had zero defense. Kupier was eventually able to float over into back mount and ended the fight with hooks in. 10-9 Kupier.

Michael Kupier def. Alessio Sakara via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Dan Lauzon vs. Jeremy Stephens

-Lil Heathen came out with guns blazing in round 1. Both men were throwing, and landed their fare share, but it was Stephens that pressured Lauzon and even used some wonderful counters. He secured the round late with a beautiful slam that got the crowd on their feet. 10-9 Stephens.

-Another good round turned in from Stephens. Lauzon dictated most of the round, but his aggressive moves opened him up to some vicious counter leg-kicks. Towards the end of the round Dan was limping, leg clearly hurt, and was taken down easily. 10-9 Stephens.

-Lauzon went for broke in this round. He quickly found himself on the mat again, and created a scramble. Stephens was keen to it and turtled Lauzon up. From there, he began leveling Dan with brutal shots, ending the fight.

Jeremy Stephens def. Dan Lauzon via. TKO (4:20, Rd 3)

Tyler East vs. Christian Morecraft

-Morecraft rocked East at one point, but for the most part, he looks afraid. East is really imposing himself, and hasn't really hit anything major yet. East is pressuring Morecraft and is clearly making him uneasy. 10-9 East.

-Copy of round 1. Morecraft didn't like being in the pocket with East and it was evident when East landed a nasty body shot that buckled Morecraft. Christian survived, but he really needs to try and finish this fight. 10-9 East.

-A great round turned in from Morecraft. He knew he had to go for broke in this one, and let his hands fly. He rocked, and dropped, East two times in this round but was not able to finish the fight. Still a good round. 10-9 Morecraft.

Tyler East def. Christian Morecraft via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

T.J. Grant vs. Sam Stout

-The men were finding their range and pace in this round, but Grant was clearly the aggressor and made Stout go on the defensive. Grant was able to score a late take down to steal the round. 10-9 Grant.

-Another tight round here. Stout was using his boxing and great foot work to make Grant move and work. He landed a nice spinning back fist and some good counters, however, it was Grant that scored another take down later on. Close call. 10-9 Grant.

-Stout dictated the first few minutes with some good strikes, but got too comfortable and let Grant score a double leg. Grant eventually got back mount and looked for the RNC, but Stout did a fantastic job to pull guard. 10-9 Grant.

T.J. Grant def. Sam Stout via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Main Event:

Jake Ellenberger vs. Thiago Alves

*Alves missed weight by 2 lbs*

-Interesting round. Alves pressed Ellenberger up against the cage, with his face facing the crowd. He tried countless submission attempts from standing back position, but it was almost too easy for Ellenberger to defend. Alves jumped up and looked for an RNC, but Jake flipped him and ended up in guard. 10-9 Ellenberger.

-Both men came out looking for a wrestling match early on. Alves eventually landed a take down, but Ellenberger was very active off of his back, going for three triangle attempts. This seemed to take a lot out of Alves, who looked drained walking back to his corner. 10-9 Ellenberger.

-Ellenberger sensed the desperation from Alves and put him right on his back ASAP. He jumped right into side control then postured up; the shots he landed were BRUTAL! This one is o-v-e-r!

Jake Ellenberger def. Thiago Alves via. TKO (1:51, Rd 3)

UFC 180 Saved By Silva & Jacare.

UFC 180 was announced, and not long after, Dana White was about ready to pull the plug. The UFC was happy to announce that they were heading back to London and wanted to supply a big time main event, preferably a title fight. However, no champions were medically cleared to take the fight, and there were not major names to save the day. Entire Anderson Silva & Jacare Souza.

At 39 years old, Silva has held the UFC Middleweight belt two times and he has intentions on capturing the belt a third time. Even in his old age, there are few that would doubt the skills of The Spider, he's still as dangerous as they get and can never be taken lightly.

Jacare lost a controversial descision to Ronny Markes back at UFC 174 in his promotional debut. The two-time Strikeforce Middlweight king has his eyes firmly set on Silva, and knows knocking off his fellow Brazilian native would go a long way in, and out, of the cage.

Desperate To Right The Ship, Bendo Set To Face Gomi.

When Ben Henderson heard about UFC 180 being on the verge of cancellation, he called up match-maker Joe Silva and demanded he fight, he wanted to help out the company. The first name that Silva threw out there was accepted right off the bat; Takanori Gomi.

After losing his belt to BJ Penn, Henderson dropped a fight against the tough Evan Dunham. For the first time ever in his career, the former WEC & UFC champ is on a losing streak, something he does not feel comfortable about.

The Fireball kid, needless to say, has not enjoyed the success in the UFC he had originally wished. At 2-3, Gomi wants to get his second straight UFC victory. Not having fought in three years, Gomi may be a little rusty, but you better believe he'll bring his a-game for the former champion.

The Rest

Prepare for a fun heavyweight bout! With Cain out of the picture, Junior dos Santos knows he can make another run for the gold, and it starts at UFC 180 when he faces Muay Thai wizard, Shane Del Rosario. Two of the best in the division, JDS & Rosario always bring the action.

With the rough streak John Howard has been on, many would have been fired by now but Doomsday may have saved his job by jumping at the chance to fight at UFC 180 against a vicious opponent; Dan Hardy. Two of the top-notch-strikers in the welterweight division, you can expect a fun fight here.

Kicking off our main card will be two of the biggest names at 205. Forrest Griffin returns to action since losing the title fight to Jon Jones, when he meets the 14-0 Stainislav Nedkov. Fresh off of a win over Ryan Bader, Nedkov would love to add another TUF champion to his list of fallen foes.

Another UFC card, another set of prelims! Catch flyweight Dustin Ortiz make his UFC debut when he mixes it up with Louis Gaudinot. Also making his promotional debut will be heavyweight Stav Economou & Dawid Baziak. Fabricio Costa da Silva will debut as well when he clashes with Felipe Arantes.

REGEN REPORT

Ok guys, so since the game is getting up there in years, and more and more regens are starting to pop up in the game, I wanted to introduce some of the ones that I have signed so you guys aren't totally lost and understand them a bit.

  • Arthur Jackson (5-0.) 155 lbs from British Columbia. Jackson is an elite level BJJ player, and has some serious skills. He is just 21 years old and trains at Titans MMA. He has very strong ratings for striking, submissions, ground striking and ground skills. Keep an eye on him

  • Barry Wreck (1-0.) 145 lbs Sweden native. The member of Sambo 70 might be inexperienced but his skills are there. At 24 years old, he has strong ground striking, wrestling, ground skills and submissions.

  • Brandon Petruzelli (5-0.) A big time prospect in the heavyweight rankins, the Ray Sefo regen has already chalked up big UFC victories over Christian Morecraft, Alexander Volkov, Cheick Kongo and Ednaldo Oliveira. Petruzelli, from New Zealand, is ranked as the 15th HW in the world. Watch out.

  • Gregory Combs (0-0). Another prospect at heavyweight, Combs hails from California. At 6'6", he boasts some good judo skills, which gives him strong wrestling, ground skills and submissions. With no experience, Combs could be sent down to Strikeforce to develop.

  • Jakub Ruzicki (0-0) 205'ers, watch out! While Jakub has no MMA fights under his belt, he has become one of the best wrestlers in the WORLD! With strong wrestling, ground striking, ground skills, submissions and takedowns, Ruzicki can take the fight anywhere. Oh, and he's only 21.

  • Joseph Abbot (9-0) The most experienced of the regens, Abbot is looking to be a force at 135. 1-0 in the UFC, the Canadian is looking to use his BJJ skills to take him to the top. He doesn't stand out in one particular area, but he's still one to watch for.

  • Neil Wilkes (0-0) This ground & pound specialist had a great college wrestling career at the University of Indiana (right in his back yard.) His strong wrestling, ground skills & ground striking will certainly give him a good jump start to his career.

  • Paul Roy (5-0) At 155, Roy is a nice prospect. The Quebec native posses lighting quick strikes, which not many lightweights have. Waiting for his big break, Roy is one to watch for.

I have a bunch more who are down in Strikeforce at the time.

Petruzelli sounds sick. Being a Sefo regen, I shouldn't really be surprised. Jackson sounds like a future champion and i'm keeping my eye on Ruzicki, sounds like he could be a major threat down the road.

UFC on Fox: McDonald vs. Cruz II!

Prelims:

Ralek Gracie def. Chad Griggs via. Americana (1:24, Rd 1)

Marcus Brimage def. John Teixeira via. TKO (0:42, Rd 2)

Danny Martinez def. John Lineker via. Split Decision (5:00, Rd 3)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Josh Hill vs. Miguel Angle Torres

-Torres scored an early take down and kept the fight there. Hill did a fantastic job of working off of his back and landing some good elbows that clipped Torres. However, Miguel had dominant position and finished the round in back mount. 10-9 Torres.

-Very similar round here. Torres eventually got mount and went for an armbar, but Hill was able to stack Torres and end up in side control. Hill wasn't able to do much with his dominant position. 10-9 Torres.

-Not much. Torres was able to drop Hill with a fantastic punch. 10-9 Torres.

Miguel Angle Torres def. Josh Hill via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo

-As expected, both men had no interest in going to the ground. They kept it on the feet, with both men landing their fare share of shots. Kongo did however do a fantastic job of countering most of the offense that Barry mounted. 10-9 Kongo.

-They come out and Kongo throws out a weak jab, this allows HD to hit a BRUTAL leg kick that had Kongo limping. He responded with a VICIOUS right hand bomb that caught Barry and sent him crumbling.

Cheick Kongo def. Pat Barry via. KO (0:46, Rd 2)

Svetoslav Savov vs. CB Dollaway

-CB looked flawless here in round one. Savov was able to land a few shots at first, but when CB put Savov on his back, he checked into survival mode. Easily CB obtained mount and began blasting Savov and went for an armbar. Somehow the TUF champ survived the round despite clearly losing it. 10-9 Dollaway.

-Another dominant round from Dollaway. He used his wrestling to dictate this round, but Savov still seems pretty fresh while CB seems to be dragging a bit. This last round could be vital. 10-9 Dollaway.

-3/3. Dollaway dominated. 10-9 Dollaway.

CB Dollaway def. Svetoslav Savov via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Daron Cruickshank vs. Nate Diaz

-Cruickshank came out looking really, really good. He was landing strike-after-strike in which Diaz had no answer for. Some vicious leg kicks began piling up turning the leg of Diaz red. The Stockton native scored a late take down, but not enough to take this round. 10-9 Cruickshank.

-Diaz came out pushing the pace, not allowing Daron to settle. After a few failed take down attempts, Nate chose to stay on the feet with Cruickshank. This didn't last long as Daron dropped Diaz with some big rights. From there, he swarmed him and ended this one! Great showing from Mr. Cruickshank!

Daron Cruickshank def. Nate Diaz via. TKO (4:38, Rd 2)

Main Event: UFC Bantamweight Title

Michael McDonald © vs. Dominick Cruz

-Not much action here. 10-9 McDonald.

-Wow! Beautiful round from The Dominator! He came out and landed a picture perfect head kick that gave McDonald rubbery legs. He followed up with an outstanding flying knee, but somehow the champ survived! From there, McDonald went into survival mode for the rest of the round. 10-9 Cruz.

-Wall & Stall. 10-9 Cruz.

-Another wonderful round from the former champion. He utilized his leg kicks and by the end of the round, it was clear that Mayday McDonald was feeling the effects of those kicks as he limped back to his corner. 10-9 Cruz.

-Wall & Stall. 10-9 Cruz.

Dustin Ortiz def. Louis Gaudinot via. Split Decision (5:00, Rd 3)

------------------------------------------------------------

Forrest Griffin vs. Stainislav Nedkov

-Meh, nothing crazy here. 10-9 Griffin.

-Stainislav dictated this one. He rocked Forrest mid-way through the round, then proceeded to take this one to the mat and made Griffin work off of his back. He wasn't able to finish it, though. 10-9 Nedkov.

-Carbon copy of round 2. 10-9 Nedkov.

Stainislav Nedkov def. Forrest Griffin via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

John Howard vs. Dan Hardy

*Huge ovation for Hard*

-The Outlaw made sure he let Howard know who was running this fight. He pressured him and made him stay out of his comfort zone. Hardy eventually got a Thai clinch and landed some nice elbows which were the highlight of the round. 10-9 Hardy.

-Both men began letting their hands go and make some noise. Howard was very quick which clearly frustrated Hardy. The Outlaw, however, caught Doomsday slipping and floored him with a picture perfect head kick ending the fight.

Dan Hardy def. John Howard via. KO (3:22, Rd 2)

Junior dos Santos vs. Shane Del Rosario

-Cigano is back! JDS came out and took the center of the cage and didn't give up an inch of it to Shane! The two got a feel for one another, then when it came time, Junior knocked Shane's head off and pounded away.

Junior dos Santos def. Shane Del Rosario via. TKO (2:15, Rd 1)

Ben Henderson vs. Takanori Gomi

-Benson came right out and scored a slick take down that Gomi didn't see coming. Gomi recovered quickly and was able to stand back up. Henderson kept him pinned on the cage but failed at countless take downs. That'll gas him quickly. 10-9 Henderson.

-Lay & pray. 10-9 Henderson.

-An early end here in the third. Henderson got clipped with a nice right hand that dropped him. The Fireball Kid swarmed and began drop hammers, ending this one.

Takanori Gomi def. Ben Henderson via. TKO (0:44, Rd 3)

Main Event:

Anderson Silva vs. Jacare Souza

-Silva really pushed the pace here and made sure Jacare was on his heels. Flying knees, head kicks, jabs, you name it; Anderson threw it. Souza kept his cool as he didn't get hit with anything, and scored a take down late. 10-9 Souza.

-Again, Silva came out looking to dominate...but couldn't. Souza did a good job of waiting it out and then landing a beautiful right hook that almost dropped Silva. Not much happened after that, but Jacare takes this round. 10-9 Souza.

-These guys are drained. This is only a three rounder, for what it's worth. 10-9 Souza.

Jacare Souza def. Anderson Silva via. UD (5:00, Rd 3)

Aoki: I Will Bury BJ Penn.

For some time, the writing has been written on the wall...and in rather clear hand writing. In less than a year since his arrival in the UFC, former PRIDE, Strikeforce, Bellator & DREAM fighter, Shinya Aoki, has been flat out flawless in his two UFC bouts.

An arm triangle victory in his debut against Mac Danzig sent a message to the rest of the 155ers in the division. The follow up victory over Gray Maynard added an exclamation point behind the statement. What might that be, you ask? "BJ Penn is next!"

The Hilo, Hawaii native is not afraid and in fact has turned down any fight offered to him that doesn't read "vs. Shinya Aoki." A motivated BJ Penn is a freaky thing, and for Aoki to rattle the cage can only make it worse.

The two will meet at UFC 181 where Penn will put his lightweight title on the line. Will Aoki continue his great run in the company, or will the champion defend his title for the third time?

When: Week 2 May, 2015

Where: Ohio
