Great SummerSlam, i've read everything, no joke.

The Gunns with the payback, predictable.

Crush can be a good monster heel in the Upper Midcard, i like him out of Demolition.

I think that The Million Dollar Team will have a great reign, but the title could go to a team that is lower in the card after the reign that Bigelow and IRS deserve.

The most predictable match in the whole card, arguably. Bulldog with a great performance.

The Tatanka turn was a great twist to the storyline. I have to say that i saw a turn of one of them coming, but not that early.

Diesel retaining, well that surprised me. Excited to see who is going to take the title from him.

LMAO when i read Doink vs. Jarrett. No, really, it was very funny.

And Sid makes his return. Not as i thought, but it was even better. Taker losing was a huge surprise though. And, like TFC said, a good surprise.

The Macho Man, OOOOOOOOOH YEAH! This sure takes a lot of momentum from HBK, but i'm really excited to see what happens next.

The Main Event was the most unpredictable match of the card for me, and this is a good thing. Great match, and a good booking. Good cuz i wanted to see Owen winning :p

Overall, a great event. I liked the format, and sure, i may very well use it for PPVs in my own dynasty. Congrats.

Time Decline has hit Bob too hard for me to use him how they did IRL (winning the title from Bret), I've got other plans for him. It hurt my plans pretty badly but we'll see what happens.</p><p> </p><p> Overall, thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I'll try to keep this rolling a little faster this month. Next PPV is Week 1, October, there's nothing in September.</p>

<p>Good job on RAW (even if you did have Jacques Rougeau lose...). Surprised Bret vs Bam Bam managed such a high rating on a TV show.</p><p> </p><p>

AC Conner vs. <strong>PJ Walker </strong>w/Johnny Polo</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">On the basis I don't know who AC Conner is...</span></p><p>

<strong>The Headshrinkers</strong> w/Afa and Lou Albano vs. The Heavenly Bodies</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Were the Heavenly Bodies still an active team at this point? I'm guessing either way that the Headshrinkers would be more likely to be in and around the title picture.</span></p><p>

<strong>Lex Luger</strong> vs. Nikolai Volkoff</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Should be easy for Luger.</span></p><p>

Robert Gibson w/Ricky Morton vs.<strong> Shawn Michaels</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">As above, although it will be a better rated match!</span></p>

WWF Superstars of WrestlingWeek 1, September 1994

Jefferson County Fairgrounds – Birmingham, AL

The highlight video plays at the beginning of the show and we are set to begin, welcomed by the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes!

The announcers discuss the hot topic of Diesel's shocking beatdown of the WWF Champion Bret Hart on RAW, before showing a recap video of the ambush which Gorilla Monsoon called “heinous and despicable.”

RATING: 83 (B+)

Notes: None.

AC Conner vs. PJ Walker w/Johnny Polo

In our opening contest, Excellence's PJ Walker was able to pick up the victory with a Lifting DDT over AC Conner in under five minutes.

RATING: 34 (E+)

Notes: These two were sloppy together, but the announcers put over the young talent fairly well.

____________________________________________

Backstage, Razor Ramon is sitting in his locker room, looking a bit down. After a second or two, The 1-2-3 Kid walks in to talk to his buddy. Razor tells the Kid how he thought he had Diesel beat at SummerSlam and he's majorly disappointed in himself for not winning the gold back. The Kid attempts to get Razor's psyche together.

1-2-3 Kid: Hey listen man, I of all people know what it's like to take a disappointing loss. I haven't been on quite the roll here in the WWF as of late, but does that stop me from getting in that ring each and every week and giving it my all? Absolutely not. So you've gotta look in the mirror, Razor Ramon, and you've gotta tell yourself that you're coming back even harder for that belt next time. Prove it to yourself, because all of these people know that you've got the potential. So go out there and work even harder and your goals will be within your reach!

The crowd pops as Razor looks pensively toward the Kid, who walks out.

RATING: 55 (C-)

Notes: None.

The Headshrinkers w/Afa and Lou Albano vs. The Heavenly Bodies

The Bodies put up a pretty decent fight in this matchup, but in the end the hefty Samoan team picked up the victory when Samu hit a Superkick followed by a Fatu diving headbutt on Jimmy Del Ray. The former champs regained some momentum just six days after their devastating title loss.

RATING: 59 ©

Notes: 6:06. Both Afa and Lou Albano did well at ringside.

Next, a video plays highlighting the path of dominance that Yokozuna has embarked on recently, showing his Banzai Challenge victories. Another challenge will take place on RAW.

RATING: 75 (B-)

Notes: Who will the opponent be!?

Lex Luger vs. Nikolai Volkoff

With the announcers putting over Tatanka's betrayal at SummerSlam (Hayes backed Tatanka's decision), Luger came out looking extremely mean and focused. He slapped the hands of his fans and stepped in the ring with former Million Dollar Corporation member Nikolai Volkoff. He pounded on the aging Volkoff for about seven minutes, before locking in the Torture Rack for a dominant victory.

RATING: 53 (C-)

Notes: 7:38. Luger's Performance was better here, he really sold his anger well. The announcers' bickering boosted the match as well.

____________________________________________

Next out to the ring was Crush, accompanied by Jim Cornette. Cornette grabs a microphone.

Jim Cornette: Feast your eyes, Birmingham, Alabama, on the most intense and dominating force the World Wrestling Federation has ever seen! All of you people saw what he did to one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time at SummerSlam, and that's only the tip of the iceberg! This man right here left a former World Wrestling Federation Champion in a broken heap in the middle of the ring! This is a warning to that entire locker room that if you cross paths with this monster, you WILL get decimated. Count on that!

And with that, Cornette gave a smirk to the crowd and dropped the microphone as the pair made their exist.

RATING: 73 (B-)

Notes: Solid stuff. He's helping Crush get over really really fast.

Robert Gibson w/Ricky Morton vs. Shawn Michaels

Our main event of the night featured two very good workers, and this led to a very good result. The two wrestled for just over seven minutes, but had the crowd rocking the entire time. In the end, Michaels picked up a clean victory with the Sweet Chin Music and the crowd was very impressed with this one.

RATING: 83 (B+)

Notes: 7:15. Michaels is good.

____________________________________________

To end the show, Monsoon and Hayes send us over to the closing video which once again highlights the SummerSlam events surrounding The Undertaker and Ted DiBiase's hired gun, Sid Vicious!

RATING: 86 (B+)

Notes: None.

<p>Been following from day 1 and still here so you must be doing something right. I rarely predict in the few diaries I follow, but I try to drop a comment now and again. I like how even the b-show matters, and you use it the way it should be used. </p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, that's cool you have plans in place until SvS. I'm thinking that if you've got that covered, might as well think about who you want to win the Rumble and who you want in the WWF Title match at that show. That way once you post the SvS results, you can plan the next 2 months. And of course when the Rumble is done, you can plan WM and go out with a bang...or keep going. Whichever, its your diary. But I'd understand if you didn't wanna continue too far cuz I know how easy it is to get burned out. But I just think booking in 2 month increments would take you to the season finale and be very rewarding.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

After the show, <strong>Owen Hart</strong> was praised by ownership for his fantastic performance, putting in both the best promo and the best match of the night. The word in the back is also that <strong>Shawn Michaels</strong> was praised for a good performance in his match against the Macho Man. Additionally, <strong>Lex Luger</strong> was given a bit of encouragement because his momentum has taken a slight hit due to his poor match chemistry with Tatanka.</p><p> </p><p> With SummerSlam now behind them, the WWF looks to build on its success by hosting another <strong>In Your House</strong> Pay-Per-View on the last Sunday in September. It looks like this is gonna be a series of PPV events, and I think it's a pretty cool idea to hold the fans over until Survivor Series. As for match ideas, it seems they're building towards <strong>Diesel/Bret Hart</strong> as well as a rematch between <strong>Savage</strong> and <strong>Michaels</strong> based on this past Monday night. No matches have been confirmed as of yet, however.</p><p> </p><p> In a side note, <strong>Nikolai Volkoff</strong>'s pay-per-apperance contract has expired, and he was not re-signed. He agreed to be squashed by Lex Luger on Superstars for his last paycheck.</p><p> </p><p> Additionally, <strong>Jacques Rougeau</strong> and <strong>Jim Powers</strong> have extended their developmental deals with WWF's child company, Midwest Wrestling Association.</p><p> </p><p> Thanks for reading Worldwide Wrestling News magazine, until next time, this is The Man, telling you to stay manly, my friends!</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Graphic credit goes to Fleisch!</p>

<p>I just read Summer Slam! Great job my friend! As you know, I'm not that familiar with wrestling in this era, but you are such an avid reader of my diary, so I thought I'd return the favor... Couple of things, and I don't want to inflate your ego too much... But I loved the lay-out, and presentation... Very smart, and very easy on the eyes... But my personal favorite thing about the layout, is the McMahon, Lawler and Fink pictures... They add something to it for sure... </p><p> </p><p> I like the preview you do... the 'How We Got Here' thing. Its similar to how I do it, but I think yours explains it a lot clearer than having Edge and JBL argue over who they think will win!!! Couple of things, and I don't want to inflate your ego too much... But I loved the lay-out, and presentation... Very smart, and very easy on the eyes... But my personal favorite thing about the layout, is the McMahon, Lawler and Fink pictures... They add something to it for sure... <p> </p><p> I like the preview you do... the 'How We Got Here' thing. Its similar to how I do it, but I think yours explains it a lot clearer than having Edge and JBL argue over who they think will win!!! "/ I especially liked the Taker vs Dibiase, and Hart vs Hart back-stories there..</p><p> </p><p> As for the event itself... Liked this little gem: </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Didn't Jim Ross used to call Gunn the 'Most gifted Athlete in the WWE' at one point...?!?! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I also liked the Tatanka screw job of Luger, King calling Savage a 'Fossil'... lol... and of course the Bret vs Owen Main Event was very well written...</p><p> </p><p> Top job sir, I've subscribed, and will try to keep in touch more, and see what you do with D'Lo... one of my faves <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thanks for the huge comment man, I'm glad I can help you break down barriers despite not knowing the era too well <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I can tell you didn't know the era because the Tatanka screwjob is exactly what happened IRL and it was pretty much considered a terrible storyline afterwards. I have much better plans for it though (at least I'd like to think haha).</p><p> </p><p> Thanks a lot for all the kind words, I hope to keep ya around. Hopefully my treatment of D'Lo isn't too bad haha.</p>
