Vince McMahon sits at the head of the board room table that seats twelve. Vince taps at the table as if he is waiting for someone while reading a contract. The door of room opens and Triple H walks in. Vince acknowledges Triple H with a nod. Triple H pulls out a chair next to Vince. TRIPLE H So Dad, what’s so important? A serious look from Vince helps Triple H get serious. VINCE This is what’s up. Vince slides the contract over to his son-in-law. Triple H scans the paper then pushes it back to Vince. TRIPLE H Speed it up for me, you know I don’t like paperwork. VINCE This is your future and you can’t be bothered to read it? Triple H reaches for the contract but Vince pulls it away. VINCE (CONT’D) Someone wants to buy WCW. Triple H faces shoes he isn’t sure if Vince is serious. TRIPLE H Say what? VINCE You heard, I ain’t repeating myself. TRIPLE H You serious? VINCE Serious as when you asked for my daughter’s hand. TRIPLE H Are you going to say yes again? Vince mulls over his next comment. VINCE Possibly, but I want you input. TRIPLE H How much? And what else does he get? VINCE Hundred million, he gets the name and all the belts. We keep the history and the back catalog. TRIPLE H That’s a lot of money. VINCE I know. TRIPLE H I think it’s a good deal but what about the competition? VINCE Competition can be good, it was before and could be again. Ratings have slipped since I bought the company out. TRIPLE H Who is it? VINCE You know the guy who won nearly half a billion on the Texas lottery? Triple H nods. VINCE (CONT’D) Him. TRIPLE H Sell it to him, when he screws it up and goes belly up you buy it back at fraction of the price. VINCE That’s what I’m thinking. Vince picks up a pen and goes to sign the contract but hesitates. TRIPLE H What’s the problem? VINCE You know all the guys who have bitching? TRIPLE H Of course. VINCE What if we throw them in? TRIPLE H Their contracts? VINCE Yeah, I make these guys and a lot of them will never make it. You are doing a great job with NXT. Those guys are ready. Triple H scratches his head and looks worried but finally smiles. TRIPLE H You’re right, you have built this business to what is today and getting rid of the like’s of Ryder won’t slows us down. Vince slams his hand down. VINCE You're right dammit, call them all together and see who wants out. TRIPLE H I’ll make the calls tonight. We will have the meeting tomorrow. Vince smiles then signs the contract in a flash. I know there is a simliar dairy but I hope mine is different and good enough that both can run side by side. The unknown individual looks a little surprised at what he is ready before him. He starts to talk in a British Accent. BUYER You want to give me all of these? VINCE Sure do, they wanted out. BUYER There’s some quality here. VINCE I’ll be honest with you, we don’t think they are going to go any further up our card. If you want them they are yours. The Buyer smiles. BUYER Where do I sign? The question was hypothetical as the buyer signs away a hundred million. BUYER (CONT’D) You don’t think I am going to make it do you? Vince doesn’t hold back. VINCE No, one years tops. BUYER And if I do succeed? VINCE Then you better keep looking over your shoulder. The buyer doesn’t know if Vince is serious or not so he decides his next move quickly. The buyer passes the contract to Vince. BUYER Vince, I think our work is done. I have a plane to catch and future to plot. The buyer stand up to and shakes Vince’s hand. The buyer leaves the office as Vince grins broadly. INT. OUTSIDE VINCE’S OFFICE - NIGHT The buyer dials his phone as soon as he leaves the office. BUYER He went for it. You know what you have to do. The hotel’s board room buzzes with the noise of wrestlers discusses their future with one another. The door opens up and the buyer walks in flanked by DDP, Tommy Dreamer and Ron Simmons. The room falls silent as the four men make their way forward to the podium at the front of the room. The buyer steps to the microphone. BUYER Thank you all for coming, Could you all take your seats. The wrestlers, divas and staff all follow the instruction, some are happier than others. BUYER (CONT’D) I’m sure some of you don’t have a clue what’s going on. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. RHINO So why don’t you explain it. BUYER I will. All of you would have spoken to Vince or one of these three gentlemen behind me and they would have told you we are trying to revive WCW and take on Vince. BRETT FLY Good luck with that. This brings laughter to the room. BUYER I should be saying good luck to you. You all are the stars, you will be the ones who will push the company forward. I may have been a fan of wresting since a youngster back in the UK but I know very little of the business. I reached out to Tommy, DDP and Ron when I decided to spend some of my lottery winning an d fulfil a dream. BRIANNA GARCIA We are your play thing? YAMAOTO Not just his if the rumors are true. Brianna darts Yamaoto a dirty look as he high fives Brett Fly. The buyer tries not to laugh. BUYER Not a play thing but my future, your future. You all have a chance to step out from behind the likes of Cena and Hulk Hogan and be the star of the show. We have sat down and decided who will get what push to start but it will be down to you if you move up or down. CARLITO COLON Do I still get to spit apples at people? Carlito smiles. BUYER Ah Gimmicks, over the coming weeks you will with the three agents and get us ready for our first show. BRETT FLY Where and when. BUYER Cincinnati Garden, third week of January. BARBIE BERRY That’s a large place to start, do you think we will fill it? BUYER I believe in you, you guys are stars. The secret will come out tomorrow, the publicity will sky rocket. ODB Where do you play in this? You going to hog the limelight? BUYER Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this? I know I do but I won’t be, you will see very little of me involved in the show. I will be watching and cheering on from the sidelines. ODB What, like a shadow? A transformation takes place in the buyer. THE SHADOW I like that, yes like The Shadow. MATT HARDY Who will be the GM? What about a TV deal? THE SHADOW The GM will be a secret for our first event. We are looking at who maybe the best TV network to reach out in February. Again, it will be down to all of you to make that happen. TOMMY DREAMER Shadow, if I can call you that? The Shadow turns towards Tommy Dreamer and similes in the affirmative. TOMMY DREAMER (CONT’D) I think Ron has something to say. The shadow makes way for Ron Simmons. RON SIMMONS Damn! Quick Show for first event will be up shortly. The Shadow and Tommy Dreamer sit at the table. DDP Twenty-four hours and WCW takes it back to the big league, you ready? THE SHADOW I think so but more importantly the wrestlers and the crew are. DDP Talking about the wrestlers, do you think he is going to be able to carry the belt. THE SHADOW It’s his time, he has the following to take the next step. DDP But heavyweight champion? THE SHADOW Yes, heavyweight champion. DDP nods his head in agreement while still mulling it over. DDP It’s your company. THE SHADOW It is but without you guys steering the ship we could sink really soon. DDP We have the talent, the story lines are good, let’s make this happen. THE SHADOW Agreed.... ALEX SHELLY A match with decent performance but low on heat sees Alex Shelly pick up the win. Rating C+ The crowd is buzzing for tonight REBIRTH of WCW. TONY SCHIAVONE Ladies and gentlemen, yes it’s true WCW is back and it’s a honor to be here with WCW’s own DDP and the ever professional Scott Hudson. DDP It is indeed Tony. People never thought this day would come but it’s here. SCOTT HUDSON Over a decade has past but if you listen to the crowd they are letting us know it’s great to be back. The announcers pause so we hear the WCW chants. TONY SCHIAVONE It’s time to get the show under way, it’s time to meet the man who will get WCW underway. The music of Jessie Ventura hits and he makes his way to the ring greeting fans along the way. Jessie Ventura takes a microphone. JESSE VENTURA My, My, what do we have here. I know it’s not a conspiracy theory because believe me it’s true WCW is back in Cincinnati Garden. The cheap pop gets the crowd going. JESSE VENTURA (CONT’D) It has been too long people but we are here and what a show we have for you tonight. Not only will we crown a Diva’s champion but also the WCW heavyweight champion. A twenty man battle royal... Ric Flair’s hits and the crowd goes wild. Ric makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand. RIC FLAIR Jessie, I’m sorry I could not wait. I had to get out here in front of my crowd. Wooooooooooo! The crowd start chatting Flair’s name. JESSE VENTURA Well, you are here now, do you have something to say? RIC FLAIR Oh do I have something to say. WCW has been gone for so long and I’m so happy I am able to come home. I love Vince to death but WCW is where my heart is. So many great memories it’s time to build more. But, yes there is a but. I can’t build these memories alone. JESSE VENTURA Ric, we are in this together. RIC FLAIR I appreciate the offer but when I say we I mean we. Flair holds up the Horsemen sign and the crowd goes wild. JESSE VENTURA You are bringing back the Horsemen? RIC FLAIR J.J. Dillon was my mentor, he took Ric Flair and the Horsemen to new heights and I plan to do the same for four men on the roster. They don’t have to be the best right now but we will get there together but what they must all have in common is the willingness to die for one another and respect the heritage of the greatest ever force in professional wrestling. JESSE VENTURA That is a mighty challenge for any of the wrestlers on the roster, do you have any in mind? RIC FLAIR I do, but this is an open trial to all the guys in the back. If you want to be in the Horsemen, you have to show me you want to be in the horsemen. Woooooooo! Flair struts around the ring before doing an elbow drop and sliding out of the ring. Flair and Jesse make their way to the back. Rating B- INT. CINCINNATI GARDENS BACKSTAGE As Ric Flair makes is through back stage he sees his Son Reid being attacked by Big Nelson and Shad Gaspard. Ric tries to rescue his son but gets knocked to the ground. Harry Smith comes to the rescue swinging a baseball bat and chasing the attackers off. Harry helps Reid to Ric to their feet. Rating E-... REID FLAIR & HARRY SMITH A poor match with little heat sees Flair and Smtih beat Nelson and Gaspard. Rating D BARBIE BERRY VS. BETH PHOENIX VS. JILLIAN HALL VS. MARYSE OUELLET VS. NICOLE GARCIA VS. ODB - WCW DIVA'S TITLE A match with decent in ring action with little heat sees Barbie Berry beat Beth Phoenix for the Diva's Title. Rating C An angry Beth Phoenix powerbomb Barbie Barry after attacking her while she was celebrating her win. Rating B- INT. CINCINNATI GARDENS BACKSTAGE Carlito Colon, Brett Fly and Matt Hardy are getting ready for an upcoming match. BRETT FLY Matt, let’s go put on a match out there and show the doubters you have what it takes. MATT HARDY It won’t be a problem. The WWE made a mistake letting you go, you will be a future World champion. Brett nods his thanks. Hardy leaves the locker room. Brett starts to laugh. BRETT FLY He really fell for that. He was past it five years ago. CARLITO COLON Maybe ten. Both men laugh. BRETT FLY He was right about one thing, my future does hold the WCW heavyweight title and that future is tonight. Rating B- CARLITO COLON & BRETT FLY VS. MATT HARDY & TOMMY DREAMER Some good in ring action but little heat sees Brett Fly use underhand techniques to take the win. Rating C+ TWENTY MAN BATTLE ROYAL - WCW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE An entertaing match sees Brett Fly have the most eliminations and the final elimination of Alex Shelley to take the WCW Heavyweight Title. All I would say about formatting is to try and separate things more, you could just do two lines spacing in between matches or do each in it's own quote, anything really. Also I'd say to consider writing some longer matches, I'm a fan of short and simple write ups so I don't mean you need to write lines and lines. But it might be hard to draw people in when a world title match is only one sentence. Although I know it can be difficult, I think the actual matches could be the worst part of my diary anyway! THE SHADOW Gentlemen, I really appreciate the effort that went it the show. The first time behind the scenes and even though it was draining I had a blast. DDP The show was a success and you were right to go with Brett, the crowd loved him. TOMMY DREAMER He sure has his following but let’s see how they take his new character. I think it might turn a few the wrong way. THE SHADOW I hope so. We are investing a lot in him and I don’t care if the fans love or hate him as long as they want to see. RON SIMMONS Ric was the man though. They can’t get enough of him but I’m not too sure how it’s going to work out with Reid. THE SHADOW I hope they can sort out their personal difference because it could be big. Reid has a lot of talent. DDP And problems. THE SHADOW We’ll get Tommy to knock them out of him. The mood lightens. THE SHADOW (CONT’D) What do you think about the women? I want them to be a big part of the show. RON SIMMONS They held their own, we have signed some great talent. Looking forward to see what we can do with them. Tommy gives Ron a wink. RON SIMMONS (CONT’D) Damn! THE SHADOW Before this goes any further here is the lineup for next week. Crawford wins after pinning Martinez in 7:23mins. Match had average in action and low heat. Rating E+ INT. MULLINS CENTER - NIGHT The explosions go off and WCW Shockwave starts. Brett Fly’s musics and he makes his way to the ring carrying the WCW Heavyweight Championship. TONY SCHIAVONE Last week we crowned a new Heavyweight Champion and it looks like he may be out to answers for his actions last week. DDP Answer or revel in the limelight. Good does strange things to people. Brett gets into the ring and is handed a microphone. A few boos emanate from the crowd but are crowded out by cheers. BRETT FLY Yes, it finally happened. Last week the world gave Brett Fly what he is owed. For too long I have been held back because I am an innovator and the next break out star. People thought I was crazy leaving the biggest wrestling company in the world to join this band of rejects and after thoughts. A few more boos come from the crowd. BRETT FLY (CONT’D) But this is justification. I am the new WCW Heavyweight Champion, I am the chosen one. I did what I had to do, I eliminated the most wrestlers over the top rope and I will eliminate any body who tries to take this title away from me. Alex Shelley’s music his and he makes his way into the ring with microphone in hand. BRETT FLY (CONT’D) Excuse me? This is the champion’s time. ALEX SHELLEY Brett, you are the champion but you’re not the man I thought you were. A man of integrity and a man of honor. We were the last two men in the ring, and when I went to shake you hand took the cheap way out for victory. BRETT FLY What I did was take my opportunity, the opportunity I earned for the seconds I spent staring up at the lights for three seconds every week. What I did may not of been what you expected but what I did was what was needed to be done. Brett Fly is now the WCW Heavyweight Champion. ALEX SHELLEY Don’t get to comfortable with that because before I came out to the ring I spoke with Mr. Ventura and because of you actions last week we have a match tonight. Brett looks angry and waves his hands in protest. ALEX SHELLEY (CONT’D) And not just that, when I beat you tonight it will grant me a WCW Championship match next week on WCW Asylum. BRETT FLY You have made a mistake which you will be punished for. Get ready to learn from the chosen one. Brett drops his microphone and leaves the ring. Rating B- Match 1 Eddie Edwards defeats Phill Shatter In a back and forth match the crowd show their appreciation for good inring action. The lack of heat prevents the match liftingn them to their feet. After recovery from a beat down Edwards takes the match after 9:45. Rating C- After his win Edwards climbs the turnbuckle to celebrate. Rating C- Match 2 Barbie Berry defeats Beth Phoenix A match with good inring actions sees Phoenix using her brute force to try and down Berry. Berry's moves are too quick and frustrates Phoenix and to the delight of the crowd Berry wins in 7:31. Rating B- INT. BACKSTAGE MULLIN CENTER - NIGHT Beulah MCGillicutty is walking back stage when she freezes as she notices Davey Richards staring at her. Richards has a towel draped over her head. BEULAH MCGILLICUTTY Excuse me? DAVEY RICHARDS Your excused my lady. BEULAH MCGILLICUTTY Push off creep! DAVEY RICHARDS The Queen of Extreme shows her claws. Am I not extreme enough for you? Beulah blanks him and starts to walk away but Davey grabs her. DAVEY RICHARDS (CONT’D) Let me show you how extreme I can be. Davey looks Beulah up and done. This creeps Beulah. Tommy Dreamer turns a corner and sees Davey’s hands on his girl. TOMMY DREAMER What the... Davey runs off with Tommy in chase. Rating D- Match 3 Brianna & Nicole Garcia & ODB defeat Jillan Hall & Maryse Oullet & Christina Crawford In a match of average in ring actions and low heat Nicole pins Christina for the win. The Diva's lift the crowd with good looks and intense match. the younger of the two Craword sisters look a bit out of her depth but was supported well by the more experienced wrestlers. Rating D+ INT. BACKSTAGE MULLIN CENTER - NIGHT Jesse is sitting in his office when Tommy Dreamer bursts in. JESSE VENTURA The door was closed for a reason. TOMMY DREAMER I’m not here to discuss what you do behind closed doors, I’m here for Davey Richards. Did you see what he just did? JESSE VENTURA It’s my job to see what goes on around here. What you want me to about it? TOMMY DREAMER Nothing! It’s what you are going to let me do about it. I want Richards and I want him now. Jesse thinks about if for a moment. JESSE VENTURA Men don’t put their hands on women, not on my watch. You’re got it. Tommy leaves the room looking happy. Rating C Match 4 Tommy Dreamer defeats Davey Richards The crowd gets behind this match has Tommy brutally attacks Richards from the start. Richards mounts some dangerous offense but it's not enough to stop Dreamer taking the victory after 11:14. Rating B- Tommy celebrates in the ring by giving Beluah a hug to cheers from the crowd. Rating B- Match 5 High Rollers defeats The Colons & Harry Smith & Reid Flair vs. Big Nelson & Shad Gaspard In a match that the crowd couldn't give a crap about Heath Miller pins Reid Flair for the win after 10:23. Even the though the inring action was impressive at times their wasn't enough heat to cell it. Flair did some good work at ringside. Rating D+ INT. MULLINS CENTER - NIGHT Carlito looks upset as he stands in the middle of the ring ready to talk. CARLITO COLON This country sickens me. The country is not worthy of the Colon family. You suck chants start from the crowd. CARLITO COLON (CONT’D) Boo me, go ahead because it doesn’t change the fact that I am better than you and better than any wrestler in the back. You have the chosen one coming out her saying he was held back, what about me? You cheered me when I spat apples in someones face well now i spit in your face and on the American flag. Antonio Bulls music hits and he comes to the top of the ramp. ANTONIO BULL You seem a little angry and ready for a fight. I’m not so angry but ready to fight you. CARLITO COLON Bring it on. We have a match as the Bull makes his way to the ring.
