1991: Rising Storms

Recommended Posts

It's not just yours I replace, it's pretty much every mod's. My gimmick file is pretty much the "easy mode" for gimmicks because I hate dealing with them. The lowest a gimmick ever scores for me is low 70s. I know it's not the "proper" way to play, but meh, it's my game :p

Yeah, I made my gimmicks a lot easier to score well.

I'll give yours a go when the update goes live before I decide to use my own or not. It originally started because mod makers had a million unneeded gimmicks when I believe that 90% of real world gimmicks are already covered by the default pack. Every gimmick in my gimmick file has 0 difficulty and 30 subtlety.

The biggest downfall of using my gimmick file is you have to go into the pregame editor for whatever promotion you're going to play as and go through each contracted worker and give them a gimmick. It's kind of a frustrating, but worth it in the long run.

LOL

Check mine out. I set a ton of gimmicks to 27-32 subtlety with difficult under 20. I wanted a LITTLE variance so I didn't put difficulty to 0, but I really worked the gimmick file because I hated getting consistent 66 rated gimmicks. Seemed so stupid.

I'll also note that it appears Adam has tweaked the gimmick mechanics to make them easier anyway.

<p>Update:</p><p> </p><p>

I've been fleshing out the world a little more. I've put a lot of work into beefing up Canada. </p><p> </p><p>

I need some help with logos. Does anyone still do logo requests? I obviously prefer the CVerse style as I think it is more aethestically pleasing. I've got about 5-6 promotions I need to get logos done for.</p>

<p>A kind soul is working on promotion logos for me. By the time he has them done I will probably be ready to release.</p><p> </p><p>

I may make a new thread to release it with promotion spotlights. I've fleshed the game world out at this point to such an extent that it is really along the lines of DOTT in terms of promotion depth. Viable promotions in the UK, Mexico, Canada, Japan and the United States. In the United States there are promotions of all sizes, tv networks that are small enough to carry wrestling on a small scale, etc.</p>

<p>I was going to say I found something weird which might be a game mechanic thing.</p><p> </p><p>

I had injuries to high and relationship frequency to medium and hardly getting any injuries like I had said. I started a new game with relationship frequency on high... all of the sudden I had a major injury each week (not in my promotion, but somewhere in the world).</p><p> </p><p>

Odd... maybe an extreme coincidence.</p>

Some game saves, you may have workers getting injured on a frequent basis. Others, you may have relatively healthy workers. Not saying this is definite, but I'm just taking a guess.</p>

I can't remember if this was brought up here or not, but I discovered by accident after firing up the game that the WWF has zero TV in Canada or the UK. WWF was on CHCH-TV(I think that was the channel) in Canada, and I'm not 100% certain, but I think they were on one of the Sky networks over in the UK. I know they were making a big deal about signing a new deal with them today as this year marked 30 years of being on Sky in the UK, so they apparently had been on TV in the UK for several years by this time in this mod.

I want to say the name of the promotion was TWF(Texas Wrestling Federation), and the TV show was Texas Championship Wrestling. And apparently according to these videos, their top title was the Texas Heavyweight Title(not the same Texas Title from World Class as this had its own lineage), and I guess they didn't have Tag Champions yet. Gives us a better idea of the roster, as well. Also, the Metroplex Arena was apparently some sort of small venue on Greenville in Dallas. Yet Google yields nothing but a ticket stub of a concert hosted by 94.5 the Edge(now 102.1 the Edge) at that venue from 1991.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="150" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/LpdZ1S5aiZE?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Gary Hart's Texas Championship Wrestling Dallas, Tx"></iframe></div></div><p> </p><p> </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="150" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/DXjxqoznv3A?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Gary Hart's Texas Championship Wrestling Part 2"></iframe></div></div>

<p>On WWF in Canada, they are on CHCH because I know they were, but I can't really replicate it. All it was on that channel was just a cut up of tv shows that aired in the states. I'm just going to put Superstars on that channel. </p><p> </p><p>

Was the WWF on any other Canadian channels at this point?</p>

<p>From watching the videos I posted, and from the best I can recall, TWF was on KDFI, channel 27 here in DFW. I think they were on at 10 PM Saturday nights at first, then moved to Sunday afternoons before the promotion fizzled.</p><p> </p><p>

As for the WWF in Canada, I don't know what other stations they may have been on up in the Great White North. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Not sure what other provinces carried WWF programming.</p>
