Gene asks them what game Piper is playing this time, cutting the introduction of the show off like this. Piper laughs at him, saying that tonight will be a banner night for the Kings of Wrestling! Gene asks him what he's talking about; the only Kings in action are California Kip, Jeff Jarrett, and two of the Stings. Roddy says that there's no doubt they will win those matches for the good of the KoW, but tonight is also the night that the Kings find out who they will destroy in War Games. “If they even get there,” says Randy Savage, butting in on the microphone. Gene asks what he means by that, and Savage stops pacing finally to say that the Kings are going to run WCW out of their minds tonight; because they won't even see the action until it's already right in front of them! Piper says that Randy is a little excited, maybe even a little antsy after last week! Savage is heard screaming off mic that “I'll kill Pillman if it's the last thing I do!” Piper says that so far, we know Lexy, Austin, and Pillman are in War Games… and that's already been WCW's mistake. Gene asks what is so funny, and Roddy asks who do they think sent those three along with Vader to Japan for the night? The crowd boos this knowledge, as they obviously would have wanted to hear from some of their favorite stars. Savage says that tonight is about scouting, finding weaknesses and injuries that Magnum is forcing his War Games team to pick up by making them fight each other to get into the match. “Easy, easy, slim pickin's” he calls them, and Roddy closes by telling everyone to enjoy this show – because the Kings certainly will!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Savage was superb off-script here, looking good and having the crowd in the palm of his hand. Fans are behind both of them, so the split audience does what they can to cheer on each man. Page nearly gets the Diamond Cutter, which Jesse says he doubts even Cactus would kick out of, but Jack is able to push away and head outside the ring. When Dallas joins him outside, they are definitely in Jack's domain. He whips DDP into the barricade and slams him on the floor. Jack breaks the count before hitting his apron elbow drop! “Bang bang!” he screams to the crowd, but eagle-eyed fans can see a commotion coming down to the ring behind them. It's <strong>The Sting Army</strong>, and they assault both men with their black baseball bats! Randy Anderson is forced to call for the bell and throw the match out, much to the chagrin of the watching fans. It appears the Kings of Wrestling have ruined this match; what does that mean for War Games?</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 9:37</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: The crowd weren't sure about the face vs. face match, and really weren't wild about the finish.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">A Surprise Guest</span></strong></span></p><p> When we come back from break, Tony says that there is something going on with security in the crowd. We zoom in to find security and ushers bringing someone in and the audience around them going crazy; it's <strong>Scott Hall</strong>! He looks into the camera and flashes his ticket stub, as he sits down in the front row. What is he doing here at Nitro tonight?</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Rating: B</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW United States Tag Team Championships</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> The Vyle Brothers vs. The Sting Army w/Sting</span></strong></span></p><p> Tony points out that perhaps the champions are at a disadvantage here tonight in taking this match, as they technically are against mystery men. That sleight-of-hand comes into play often in this one, as the Army members trade off behind Charles Robinson's back constantly. It's pointed out that the duo seem to be a well-oiled tag team. Jesse talks about how you would be able to tell if they were just two singles wrestlers instead of a tag team. The Vyles however are definitely brothers (just look at them and you can tell!) and they struggle back against all of the punishment that they've taken during the match. However, Harley Race appears at ringside, and as Devon scales the turnbuckles, Race shoves him off the top! One of the Stings climbs up a different turnbuckle, and he comes off with a big splash! Tony says that splash was very similar to Sting's old top rope splashes with the distance he got, and Charles has no choice but to count to three! We have new US Tag champions!</p><p> </p><p> The World champion Sting enters the ring with his companions. He puts his hand on both of their shoulders in a sign of respect, and the three of them raise their championships in the air as the crowd showers the Sting Army with boos. But wait – a loud cheer goes up when Cactus Jack, Diamond Dallas Page, and Bam Bam Bigelow slide into the ring! The three of them get to attack one of the US Tag champions, but the other two escape. They do not leave their man to get assaulted and potentially unmasked, though it is pointed out that blond hair is billowing out slightly from beneath one of the masks. The Army make their escape, but they have Page and Bigelow following close after!</p><p> </p><p> Cactus Jack stops by the commentary booth and Jesse Ventura talks with him. Jesse asks Jack what he thinks he's doing getting in the unknown face of the Sting Army. Cactus talks about how for the past two years, WCW have had a blight on their side called the Kings of Wrestling – and they've done all they can to keep talents like himself, Steve Austin, Dallas Page, Dustin Rhodes, and his personal favorite wrestler, Brian Pillman, beneath their feet! Jesse asks Cactus if he really does believe in Pillmania like he's said, and Jack scoffs at him; saying that there's a little bit of Pillmania in all of us! He tells everyone that he would like to have been in War Games in order to fight alongside Brian to rid World Championship Wrestling of the KoW, but he will instead do what he can to help WCW in another way. Cactus makes a challenge – saying that he will take on the two Sting Army members who just won the US Tag titles in a handicap match! Cactus says that the power of Pillmania will spur him on to defeat and unmask the two! Bang bang!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 8:29</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: The angle with Cactus, Page, and Bigelow was short. Tony says that he sees Hall wearing a WCW shirt that has a big red “X” over the logo. Schiavone wonders if that means Hall is still a member of the Kings of Wrestling.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Rating: B-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jeff Jarrett & California Kip w/Woman vs. Richard Stevenson & “Coach” Irwin Alexander w/Ted DiBiase</span></strong></span></p><p> Richard has learned a lot in his time under the tutelage of DiBiase and “The Coach” but he is not the type of great athlete as Jarrett and Kip. Alexander puts up a fight, but he goes into some deep leg thrusts after a fireman's carry on Kip and gets his head taken off by a clothesline from Jarrett. Richard tags back in and puts Jeff out on the mat with a very good sidekick, but he goes for a pin on the wrong man. As Charles points that out, Richard walks right into the Silicon Valley Slam from Kip for the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p> Woman is ecstatic with the two's victory, but a voice is heard from the entrance – it's Diamond Dallas Page! “The People's Champion” stands with Bam Bam Bigelow, and the two Jersey boys seem to have something to say. Page talks about how until they hear from Magnum TA, it looks like they won't be able to get into War Games because Page didn't win his match. Dallas says that it's crap that he won't be able to fight for WCW like all the people want to see in War Games, but he will still fight against the KoW no matter what. Dallas says that looking down the lineup of the KoW, there's only two guys left with an open dance card for Bash at the Beach, and that's the two of them! So Page tells them that if Magnum can't get him into War Games, then he can get the championship committee to lobby he and Bigelow into a tag team match on Worldwide before the Bash against Jeff and Kip! The two KoW members flip out, with Woman screaming in anger now! “See you on the fourteenth, monkeys!”</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 6:48</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Ratings: C / B-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Regal Words</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> Lord Steven Regal and Syxx w/Sir Tyler Karlet vs. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr.</span></strong></span></p><p> “Mean” Gene is backstage alongside United States Heavyweight champion Lord Steven Regal, who is just as pompous as usual. Okerlund asks Regal about defending his title in two weeks at Bash at the Beach, and Steven crinkles up his nose. Sir Karlet menacingly stands behind the two, as Regal says that he already defended his belt this month, and should not be forced to do so again in Florida on the fourteenth. But with the Queen behind him as she always is, he vows to retain his title and continue to bring class to the United States belt as only a British man can! When asked about tonight though, Regal has some one word about teaming with Syxx: “Why?” He says that the only monarch he serves is the Queen herself, and so he refuses to have any dealing with the so-called Kings of Wrestling!</p><p> </p><p> His Lordship lives up to that sentiment during the bout, as he never enters the ring whatsoever! He is heard telling Syxx that he (Regal) has no ties to the Kings of Wrestling or to Syxx, so if Syxx wants to win this bout, he better do it on his own! Kidman and Mysterio decimate Syxx with their flurry of high flying offense, as Regal and Karlet sit down at ringside! Scott Hall is seen being highly upset at ringside, but security are keeping him away from where Regal is seated. Syxx finally blows the match off, heading for the backstage area. With Regal also staying outside the ring, this one is a count out victory for Rey and Billy.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 6:02</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Regal having such a limited role in the match hurt it in the fans' eyes, and it was too short for what fans would have liked to see.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Ratings: C / C-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Hulkwood?</span></strong></span></p><p> A video talks about Hollywood Hulk Hogan showing up for Bash at the Beach on July 14th, and the general consensus that the video puts over is wondering if Hogan is really on the side of the Kings of Wrestling or not?</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: The crowd are pretty cold by now.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: A</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/pyro.jpg</span><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Welcome to Hour #2!</span></strong></span></p><p> After the round of pyro goes off, Tony and Jesse take a moment to hype the rest of the show. They talk about Harlem Heat defending the World Tag Team titles next against the Horsemen, and the big one: the War Games qualifying match between Dustin Rhodes and Ric Flair!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Rating: B</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW World Tag Team Championships</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> Harlem Heat w/Jacqueline vs. Owen Hart & “Latino Heat” Eddy Guerrero w/Bobby Heenan</span></strong></span></p><p> The World Tag Team champions are on their way to the ring, but get distracted on the walk by Scott Hall making a nuisance of himself. Hall throws some popcorn at Stevie Ray, and Ray is ready to fight! Security get things broken up, and Scott is escorted away!</p><p> </p><p> Owen and Eddy take full advantage of that distraction, as the Horsemen team take it right to the champions. Outside the arena, we are shown an insert as Mike Tenay speaks with Scott Hall. Tenay asks Hall what he was doing tonight, with Scott saying he was here to watch a good show and them “some jumped up punks” got in his face. Mike asks Scott point blank where his allegiance lies, with the Kings of Wrestling? Scott says no way; and he isn't with WCW either. Hall says that he's with himself, and that's something bigger than any of the rest of them could have. Scott says he's got something in his contract, and he's going to cash it in – he sends a shout out to Harlem Heat, saying he'll see them on the 14th!</p><p> </p><p> In the ring, Hart and Guerrero put on a clinic with the street-tough champions. Anytime this match is on the mat, it goes the Horsemen's way, but as soon as fists fly, it's all about the Heat. Owen seems to have something on his mind though, and that keeps him just off his track a little bit. Booker is able to avoid Hart's missile dropkick, and Stevie catches Eddy from a diving crossbody which leads to the Towering Inferno! Booker makes the cover on Guerrero, and Stevie holds Owen off from breaking up the three.</p><p> </p><p> “Mean” Gene catches up with the Horsemen team afterwards, and they're not happy. Bobby talks quickly about how Harlem Heat are not in the Horsemen's league, it's obvious that Owen and Eddy are suffering from hundred degree colds and Hart has a swelled toe that he didn't want to tell anyone about. Gene doesn't believe him and neither does the booing crowd. But big cheers go up when Gene points out that someone is here to see Hart… </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/britishbulldog.jpg</span></p><p> Oh my, it's Davey Boy Smith! Smith comes out and gets right in the Horsemen's faces, and he tells Bobby and Eddy to take a hike so he can talk to his brother-in-law! They don't leave, but Owen squares up with Davey, asking him what he's doing here. Smith says that Owen has been going around talking about how his family is happy with him being in the Horsemen. Davey says that he just came here after talking with Owen's father Stu and all of his family. He says that while they aren't thrilled about the company he's keeping, they'd be all behind Owen if he would actually win a match now and then! Owen says back that he'll win any match he can prepare enough for, with Davey asking why he doesn't have the World Tag Team titles around his waist right now then?! Smith says that he'll give Owen two weeks to prepare, and get over his so-called flu and swollen foot, and meet “The British Bulldog” at Bash at the Beach on July 14th! The Horsemen leave as Davey Boy plays to the crowd, and we head to a commercial break.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 13:37</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Hall and Heat fell flat because most of the crowd couldn't see it. There is far more respect between them to begin, at least more than there was before. But that only lasts until Flair slaps Rhodes across the face! The match then becomes the fight that everyone is here to see, as Flair wrestles Dustin down to the mat but “The Natural” uses his athleticism and fists to come back. Ric almost locks in the figure four, but Rhodes rolls him up – for a two count! Dustin grabs Flair for the running bulldog, but Flair shoves him away! This match could very easily go either way, and the crowd don't seem to care which direction it would go. “The Nature Boy” finally locks on the figure four, and Rhodes screams in pain! He looks like he could easily pass out, with Mark Curtis getting three separate two counts on his shoulders. Dustin then works into turning the hold over, reversing the pressure! Flair screams – but nobody is there to ask him if he submits? Mark was pulled out of the ring by Roddy Piper! “Hot Rod” slaps Curtis, before entering the ring alongside big Barry Windham, and the Kings of Wrestling begin an attack on both Flair and Rhodes!</p><p> </p><p> Windham and Piper are quickly joined in the ring by Paul Orndorff and “Sting” as they deliver a beating on Dustin and Flair. The crowd are resounding with boos as this continues. “President Piper” rips the microphone away from Gary Cappetta, saying that it looks like, since tonight was the deadline for War Games participants, that apparently WCW are going to have to pull out of the match and forfeit! Tony groans, saying that this must have been their plan all along; that's why they interfered in both of the qualifying matches tonight! Roddy starts listing off some of the KoW's demands for WCW that they will put into effect as soon as the Bash is over – namely private jets, private limos, movie roles… “big raises from Teddy T., of course!” He is interrupted however by the WCW Commissioner, Magnum TA! Magnum says that Roddy shouldn't count his chickens too much before they're hatched, because he still has one more ace card up his sleeve. Magnum says that in light of the KoW ruining two perfectly good matches tonight, he only has one recourse; that is to name <em>both</em> Ric Flair and Dustin Rhodes as the two final members of the War Games team! “Yes!” screams Schiavone, excited now to see that five on five War Games! Roddy is less excited, but a sly, evil smirk crosses his lips, as he asks Magnum if that's really what he wants. The answer is yes… but Piper says that it shouldn't have been.</p><p> </p><p> That is when The Giant comes out of the back from behind Magnum. The crowd are buzzing with what could be happening, but Giant solves that question by grabbing Magnum around the throat! Piper tells him to “do it!” and Giant lifts Magnum TA high into the air – and Chokeslams him off of the side of the aisle! Tony and Jesse scream about how Magnum was practically paralyzed for years, still has to walk with the help of a cane, and the Kings of Wrestling may have just finished the job! In the ring, Flair and Rhodes are beaten down more, before they are spraypainted with the black letters of “KoW”. Trainers and officials are loading Magnum onto a stretcher as Nitro ends on a somber note.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 16:42</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: The crowd were cold during the match, and flat during Piper and Magnum's segment.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Ratings: A / B / B+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/logo2.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p>

<p>Look who's managed to read a show within 24 hours! This guy!</p><p> </p><p>

Great show, business is really starting to pick up now. I loved Scott Hall being a heckler, he's totally the type of person that goes into business for himself and that's not the first time he's established that. I'm intrigued as to who his partner is going be when he meets Harlem Heat. Is Big Kev making the jump? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> It'd make sense since Harlem Heat were the team The Outsiders dethroned in real life, if my memory serves me correctly.</p><p> </p><p>

What I like most leading into Bash as the Beach is that there's so much mystery. You have these pieces and you can line them up and move them as you please. Hogan: what side is he on? KoW Sting: who is he? The real Sting: what part is he going to play? Is there one last twist? Has Piper got somebody on the inside? Lex? Pillman? Dustin?</p><p> </p><p>

I imagine the show being one huge blowoff, fittingly so. But you have to leave <em>something</em> that gives the reader an idea of where WCW is headed in the future. The Giant is surely going over Vader and one would have to assume his reign of terror is only around the corner. Man, I wish somebody would pick this up and continue it, just to see the post-Bash Nitro and the next grand idea of KoW ilk.</p><p> </p><p>

Of course you can't reveal anything juicy... but boy oh boy, this is like Game of Thrones' most recent season. You've waited and waited and waited and now the finality is here, it feels oh so good.</p>

<p>Here, we, go!</p><p> </p><p>

War Games</p><p>

<strong>Team WCW (Steve Austin, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Dustin Rhodes, and Ric Flair)</strong> vs. Team Kings of Wrestling (Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, “Sting”, Paul Orndorff, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan)</p><p>

Will anyone turn on their team? <em>Yes, Hogan will turn on KoW brother!</em></p><p>

Will anyone advertised not be competing in the match? <em>Dustin Rhodes. Unfinished business with Barry Windham.</em></p><p>

Who will win the fall – remember, the winner is the WCW World champion! <em>Steve Austin</em></p><p>

Who will lose the fall? <em>Roddy Piper</em></p><p>

Who will start the match for Team WCW? <em>Brian Pillman.</em></p><p>

Who will start the match for Team KoW? <em>Randy Savage.</em></p><p>

Worth three points: Who is the masked Sting? <em>I've gone back and forth on this... but it's Bret Hart and I'm sticking to it!</em></p><p>

War Games is worth TEN points altogether!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Giant</strong> vs. Vader</p><p>

Comments: <em>I'm not saying he has to win, but it will take months of re-building to get The Giant back to where he needs to be should he lose this one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

<strong>Lord Steven Regal </strong>vs. Billy Kidman vs. Syxx vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.</p><p>

Comments: <em>If there's one criticism I have of your diary, it's that the US title has probably regressed from how important it seemed two years previous. Austin/Steamboat was almost a main event program. That said, Regal is a good Champion and I don't see him losing it to a Cruiserweight.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW World Tag Team Championships</p><p>

Harlem Heat vs. <strong>The Outsiders</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Keeping with my previous comment/prediction.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Chain Match</p><p>

The Chain Gang vs. <strong>The Road Warriors</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>This is a B-minus team taking on an A-plus team. Besides, Road Warriors have some mileage in them yet.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Dungeon of Doom Gauntlet Match</p><p>

<strong>King Puma</strong> vs. The Dungeon of Doom</p><p>

Comments: <em>Packerman's boy. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Two on One Handicap Match</p><p>

The Sting Army vs. <strong>Cactus Jack</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Cactus is gonna whoop 'em, then skin 'em!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Owen Hart</strong> vs. Davey Boy Smith</p><p>

Comments: <em>I like the arrival of Davey Boy. I must admit, at first the new Horsemen seemed promising but it feels like Hart & Guerrero have been on auto-pilot these last few months (aside from Austin visiting Owen at the bar </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em>). This story gives Owen something to do and gives him the valuable boost he needs.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Harley Race vs. <strong>Devon Vyle</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Just seems like the logical story here to be completely honest. Although I have to admit this seems like a big rub for Devon.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW Worldwide pre-show:</p><p>

<strong>Jeff Jarrett & California Kip</strong> vs. Diamond Dallas Page & Bam Bam Bigelow</p><p>

Comments: <em>Considering I've got KoW losing in the main event, let's foreshadow brighter fortunes by having them start the night off well.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW Worldwide pre-show:</p><p>

“Ice Man” Dean Malenko vs. <strong>Clay Douglas</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Coin flip.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW Worldwide pre-show:</p><p>

WCW World Television Championship</p><p>

<strong>Chris Jericho</strong> vs. 2 Cold Scorpio</p><p>

Comments: <em>This is Meng's title to take, but this match will be very good. Jericho has been a solid TV champion.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker Question: How long will the War Games match last? I closed my eyes and pressed random keys and I got <strong>29:23</strong>.</p><p>

Highest to the correct answer without going over will win in the event of a tie.</p><p>

And this Sunday, date of our Lord July 14th, 1996, we will all walk, that aisle, style and profile, and eliminate, eradicate, the Kings of Wrestling where they stand! <strong>“Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman</strong> jumps around, excited, before getting into the microphone to say that all this time, it's all been leading up to this. He says that in another life, he would maybe be paired up with each of these men in teams of friendship and camaraderie. But tonight and on Sunday, they are all bonded by hate, and that hate will spur them on to save the company that truly is the best in the world! To make sure that these men who have threatened their livelihoods for two years get shut down – and then, maybe it'll be “The Loose Cannon's” time to shine. Lex Luger nods, getting the microphone to say that he could not be more pleased with his team, and he'll be ready to Rack anyone black and white in his way! Steve Austin, however, comes over and grabs the microphone away from all of them. Austin asks if they're all done singing “Kumbayah” out here, if they need to break out some beer and s'mores for a campfire and some little ghost stories. Austin says that all this crap about being friends or being ready, it's all crap! Austin tells them that he doesn't like any of the men he is in the ring with right now, he just hates the Kings of Wrestling a little bit more! Austin walks by all of his four teammates and warns them that if they stand in his way of winning the World Heavyweight title, he'll drop them with the Stunner just as fast as he would one of them! <strong>Dustin Rhodes</strong> finally steps forward, trying to calm everyone down. He says that he saw problems coming in this match, because they all want the gold and they all want to get rid of the Kings. Rhodes talks about how three of the five of them have held the World's championship, and they all want to carry it again. However, they have a huge undertaking in front of them just to survive War Games. “The Natural” says that they don't have to pull together for long – just long enough to be able to fight one another later. Dustin turns and addresses the crowd, saying that they had all agreed to have Magnum in their corner at War Games, but thanks to The Giant, Magnum won't be with them, he may never be seen in wrestling again after that attack. However, they held a quick vote over telephone last week. And they found themselves a new cornerman…</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><iframe width="180" height="115" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7vQwzFINmy4?rel=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/7vQwzFINmy4?rel=0"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/dustyrhodes.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The crowd go crazy – it's <strong>“The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes</strong>! Rhodes comes out and joins everyone in the ring, before taking the microphone from Dustin. Dusty says that it feels so, so good to be back on WCW television, baby! He says that when he saw what happened to his best friend last week, he called up Dustin and said son, you're gonna need someone to bring us all together, as a team, as a unit, as a family. He looks right toward Austin to say that not all family members have to get along, but when they need to be, they watch each other's backs. He looks at Pillman to say that not all family members have all their marbles, but they watch each other's backs when they need to. He says that we have the best athletes in the entire world standing right in this ring, and by Sunday, he will lead them down to the ring and help to finish the juggernaut that he helped to start – and in doing that, get the forgiveness from the fans, his son, and himself for his past actions. Dusty announces himself as having been voted the interim WCW Commissioner by the Championship Committee while Magnum has been put out of action, and so tonight there will be a four-on-four War Games preview match between World Championship Wrestling and the Kings of Wrestling!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Flair, Brian, and Lex all improvised well. They do so by putting on a great little match between two future stars. Dallas teases Kip with the Diamond Cutter, with Kip just barely escaping the hold that would have been lights out. The KoW member holds his own however, but what's more important is when he holds onto referee Randy Anderson, and Jeff Jarrett comes out and nails DDP with a steel chair! Kip is able to slam Page with the Silicon Valley Slam in order to pick up a very cheap victory.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 7:59</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Woman did some good work out there, but the match was cut off too quickly.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Getting Answers, Part I</span></strong></span></p><p> The interim commissioner Dusty Rhodes is backstage, and we see him talking to one of the former members of the Sting Army, <strong>Steve Corino</strong>. Dusty seems to be trying to glean some information from Corino, asking him about who the Sting Army really are! However, Corino says that he'd love to give out that sort of information, but for a price! He says he wants a new WCW contract drawn up, with limo services and his own dressing room and his own catering table… Steve is still listing off things he wants by the time Dusty sighs and walks away from him, having learned nothing.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Dusty again enjoyed the freedom to be off script, but Corino didn't do well.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW World Cruiserweight Championship</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. “Youth Warrior” Juventud Guerrera</span></strong></span></p><p> Mike Tenay joins commentary as Tony mentions that Rey will not be defending his Cruiserweight title at Bash at the Beach, so he offered to put the title on the line this evening on Nitro instead. Jesse calls him an idiot. The action is fast paced and hot though, as Mysterio and perennial rival Guerrera go at one another tooth and nail with various dropkicks, headscissor takedowns, arm drags, and Juvi even pulling out a long flipping dive over the top rope onto Mysterio on the floor! The champion is able to roll away from the 450 splash however, and he reverses a powerbomb into a hurricanrana, hooking the legs to retain his championship.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 7:48</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Bash at the Beach Event Center</span></strong></span></p><p> Haven't seen one of these in quite some time, have we? “Mean” Gene stands backstage and talks about two of the big matches that we are going to witness this Sunday at Bash at the Beach: the former student Devon Vyle takes on the teacher Harley Race, while Race's clients The Chain Gang will take on The Road Warriors in a chain match. We then hear comments from all of them; Devon and Mongo Vyle say that Harley was going to get a Vyle beating even before last week when he cost them their championships. Harley and the Chain Gang laugh off both challenges – Harley says that he taught Devon any amount of wrestling knowledge that he may have, but Race points out that he's a former eight time World champion, and even though that's been a few years ago, you don't just lose that. Turning their attention to the Road Warriors, Barry and Brian hold up their heavy chains as Race says that the “Old Warriors” have no chance of defeating his new set of bad bikers, telling Hawk and Animal to call up their local Chicago nursing homes to park themselves at! We then go to Hawk and Animal, who say that anyone who feels the Warriors are past their prime obviously need their head checked. Animal says that the Road Warriors will give them a head check: right along the side of it, with a heavy piece of chain! Hawk closes by saying that “The Monsters of the Midway” will be the sharks in the water at the beach, and as soon as they smell blood, it'll be the Chain Gang's doomsday. We go back to Gene, who tells fans to call their cable company and order right now!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Well, Gene looked good here at least.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Wild Samoan Boyz w/Col. Robert Parker vs. The Armstrong Brothers</span></strong></span></p><p> The Armstrongs take on the Samoans one last time, but before the match starts, BG gets a microphone. He pumps up the crowd by doing his own ring announcement for he and his brother, even claiming that they will be future tag team champions of the World! He says that they're going send the Samoans back to the island on a banana boat, and then they have a surprise for The Colonel afterwards!</p><p> </p><p> Ekmo and Kimo are two very big men, but the Armstrongs have almost a lifetime of wrestling experience between themselves. Brad outmaneuvers the two of them, and BG even manages to lift Kimo up for a pumphandle slam! Brad dropkicks Ekmo out of the ring, and BG is able to pick up the pinfall!</p><p> </p><p> He may be wincing and holding his arm a little, but BG and Brad are still able to muscle Col. Parker into the ring. While there, the two corner him, and threaten him with two bags. Parker tries to beg off, but Brad dumps the contents of his bag on Parker – it's a black substance that coats Parker's white suit. BG then dumps his bag on Parker, and it's white, fluffy feathers! They all stick to the black oil, and Parker is completely embarrassed! The Armstrongs tarred and feathered him! The Samoans get him pulled out of the ring, and Parker is stomping mad as he leaves the arena! But it looks as though finally, the Armstrongs have gotten sweet, sweet revenge on their former manager.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 6:41</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: BG worked the crowd well in the opening promo. Dusty asks if Vader wasn't even curious to know, but “The Monster” tells Rhodes that Piper's Kings aren't paid to be curious – they're paid to take down WCW. He says that he went to Ultimo originally to help him out against Sonny Onoo and his goons because he saw a little guy who needed a bit of backup. However, Ted tells Dragon that going forward, the two are going in different directions. Ultimo shows little emotion, as DiBiase says that after tonight, he should be finished up with Onoo's games, then the two will part ways. He takes over using his size and uses some very creative offense to take over the match for quite some time. Ultimo, however, comes out of nowhere with his Quebrada moonsault and takes Annihilator to the mat. But Psychosis manages to arm drag Dragon out of the ring, before going to the top rope quickly and launching a guillotine leg drop on Annihilator! He makes the cover, and Ultimo is just unable to make it back into the ring – Psychosis picks up the victory, and Sonny Onoo is jumping up and down in anger and frustration on the outside!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 8:51</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Annihilator and Sonny still have excellent chemistry.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">“Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko & Wrath vs. Rick Martel and Chris Candido w/Tammy Lynn</span></strong></span></p><p> This bout has a lot of potential in the winners for moving up the cards. Larry and Wrath are out to show for sure that Wrath is one of the next big deals in wrestling, while Candido and Martel want to shut Zbyszko up! The whole story of the match ends up being Larry running and hiding from Martel and Candido while Wrath throws them around like ragdolls. Chris gets isolated in the corner for what seems like forever – especially for him when he is trapped in the KoW corner – but before he can make a tag to Martel, Zbyszko drags Rick off the apron and throws him into the ringpost. Wrath then plants Candido with a pumphandle smash, and makes a pinfall to score a huge victory for himself.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 12:02</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Tammy did good work at ringside, her and Candido are a good pair.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: B-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">All-American Contenders</span></strong></span></p><p> Mike Tenay has left commentary to go backstage to the interview area, where he is standing by with <strong>The Steiner Brothers</strong>. Rick and Scott waste little time in this interview, saying that they went to the championship committee as soon as they had found out Harlem Heat had wanted some challengers for Bash at the Beach, but found out that the challenge had already been claimed thanks to someone paying “a huge sum of money” to get it. Scott says where they come from, that's called a bribe; but that's neither here nor there. Rick says that as soon as we see who the champions are, they'll be right there to welcome them to the “Dog Pound” and the Steiners will bring the World Tag titles right back to Detroit where they belong! Scott says that they may not have a match at the Bash, but they will be on hand to make sure the Kings of Wrestling don't try to ruin anyone's matches!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Rating: B-</em></span></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Whodunnit?</span></strong></span></p><p> Tony notes when we come back from Mike that apparently there is some commotion going on backstage. But their mood changes quickly when they see Barry Windham and The Giant lumber out for the Kings of Wrestling. Steamboat has been out of action for a few weeks, and it shows as he gets dragged into the KoW corner and punished by all four men – as well as Harley sneaking in a punch from the outside. Several near-falls see “The Dragon” almost put out, but he is able to catch Savage coming off the top rope by punching him in the stomach! Steamboat manages to make a tag out to Austin, who comes in swinging at everything that moves! The match becomes a full donnybrook with all eight men fighting at one time, just as we knew it would. The ring clears out, and Steamboat feels too much adrenaline so tags himself back in. But as he stands atop the turnbuckles, Woman grabs his leg. He finally gets her pushed aside, but by then The Giant steps into his path. He intercepts Steamboat and hefts him right off the turnbuckle, to drill him to the mat with the Chokeslam! The legend has nothing left, and no one is left available to break it up as Giant logs the three count.</p><p> </p><p> After the bell sounds, the backstage area seemingly clears out, as the KoW are joined by two masked Stings. <p><strong>Team WCW (Steve Austin, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Dustin Rhodes, and Ric Flair)</strong> vs. Team Kings of Wrestling (Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, “Sting”, Paul Orndorff, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan)</p><p>

-WCW HAS to win. Maybe the Kings could take it if the diary was continuing, but with this being the finale WCW winning is the only ending that makes sense.</p><p> </p><p>

Will anyone turn on their team? <strong>Yep, Hogan</strong></p><p>

Will anyone advertised not be competing in the match? <strong>Yep, Hogan (again)</strong></p><p>

Who will win the fall – remember, the winner is the WCW World champion! Pillman or Austin winning would be a cool nod to the future, but the most fitting winner to me would be <strong>Flair</strong>. This storyline all started at his expense two years ago at this event, so it seems poetic for him to be the one that ends it.</p><p>

Who will lose the fall? <strong>President Piper. Hot Rod needs some comeuppance bad!</strong></p><p>

Who will start the match for Team WCW? Can I pick Arn Anderson? No? Guess I'll say <strong>Luger</strong> then.</p><p>

Who will start the match for Team KoW? <strong>Orndorff</strong></p><p>

Worth three points: Who is the masked Sting? I hate to steal cps' answer, but it's really well thought out and I have no better ideas, so <strong>Rick Rude</strong> it is.</p><p>

War Games is worth TEN points altogether!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Giant</strong> vs. Vader</p><p>

Two on One Handicap Match</p><p>

<strong>The Sting Army</strong> vs. Cactus Jack</p><p>

Comments: Assuming this is The Ladykillers, to tie into Rude as WHC Sting.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Owen Hart</strong> vs. Davey Boy Smith</p><p>

Comments: This is probably wrong, but it seems like Owen hasn't done a whole lot since coming in and I'd like to see him end on a positive note.</p><p> </p><p>

Harley Race vs. <strong>Devon Vyle</strong></p><p>

<strong>Team WCW </strong>(Steve Austin, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Dustin Rhodes, and Ric Flair) vs. Team Kings of Wrestling (Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, “Sting”, Paul Orndorff, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan)</p><p>

Will anyone advertised not be competing in the match? <strong>Dustin Rhodes</strong></p><p>

Who will win the fall – remember, the winner is the WCW World champion! <strong>The REAL Sting</strong> Sting will replace Dustin and enter last for WCW and clean house. He will win and then unmask the "KOW Sting"</p><p>

Who will lose the fall? <strong>Orndorff</strong></p><p>

Who will start the match for Team WCW? <strong>Lugar</strong></p><p>

Who will start the match for Team KoW? <strong>Orndorff</strong></p><p>

Worth three points: Who is the masked Sting? I have no clue. Both Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels have both been on Raw and PPVs and Bret is still listed as IC Champ so I do see it being one of them. So I will go with the majority and say <strong>Rick Rude</strong> just based on his obsession with Sting.</p><p>

War Games

Team WCW (Steve Austin, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Dustin Rhodes, and Ric Flair) vs. Team Kings of Wrestling (Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, “Sting”, Paul Orndorff, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan)

You've built up Austin for this the entire diary. While I could see the real Sting taking the cake, I'm truly not sure, so I'll follow my gut.

Will anyone turn on their team? Hollywood Hogan will, BROTHER.

Will anyone advertised not be competing in the match? Hogan.

Who will win the fall – remember, the winner is the WCW World champion! Steve Austin.

Who will lose the fall? Sting. The fake Sting.

Who will start the match for Team WCW? Brian Pillman.

Who will start the match for Team KoW? Paul Orndorff.

Worth three points: Who is the masked Sting? I'll join the Rick Rude bandwagon, but I'm sure it isn't him. (I don't have another solid guess, though.)

War Games is worth TEN points altogether!

The Giant vs. Vader

Comments: One final win to prove that he's the best big man in town.

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Lord Steven Regal vs. Billy Kidman vs. Syxx vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.

WCW World Tag Team Championships

Harlem Heat vs. ???

Comments: Jeez, I'll go with Nash and Hall as well!

Chain Match

The Chain Gang vs. The Road Warriors

Comments: TFC surely loves to take a swing at the GREATEST TAG TEAM IN WRESTLING HISTORY, but unfortunately, I will have to predict against it. And I hate you for it.

Dungeon of Doom Gauntlet Match

King Puma vs. The Dungeon of Doom

Comments: In these stories, good ALWAYS defeats evil.

Two on One Handicap Match

The Sting Army vs. Cactus Jack

Comments: The power of PILLMANIA will aid Cactus, BROTHER!

Owen Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith

Comments: A toss-up.

Harley Race vs. Devon Vyle

Comments: Even though this is ending, I see nothing good that could come from a Harley win.

WCW Worldwide pre-show:

Jeff Jarrett & California Kip vs. Diamond Dallas Page & Bam Bam Bigelow

Comments: They are the better team.

WCW Worldwide pre-show:

“Ice Man” Dean Malenko vs. Clay Douglas

Tiebreaker Question: How long will the War Games match last? 38 minutes.

Highest to the correct answer without going over will win in the event of a tie.

Jesse Ventura compares War Games at Bash at the Beach to storming the beaches of Normandy back on “D-Day” as one side or the other will be winning the war right here tonight. Mike Tenay adds that there is a sense of finality in the air, as WCW will either be forced to give all power to the Kings of Wrestling or the KoW will be forced to separate. However he does get involved any chance he feels he can gain an advantage, for example shoving Kidman off the ropes when he tried to springboard onto Mysterio. Regal locks Kidman into the Regal Stretch at one point and nearly earns a submission victory, but Syxx is able to break it up with a legdrop before that can happen. Rey hits Syxx with a double springboard hurricanrana, going from one ring to the other, wowing the fans but not being able to capitalize with a cover as Kidman is trying to pin Regal already. Steven kicks out, but by that time Syxx is not able to be pinned anymore. The end of the match comes as Regal is outside the ring. Mysterio leaps over the top rope and hits him with a flipping splash while Tenay calls “a tope con hilo”. Kidman looks like he wants to add to the pile of bodies on the floor, but Syxx steps in and pulls him straight off the ropes! Syxx pulls Kidman into a rollup, placing his feet on the ropes where Rey or Regal can't get to him in time, and Syxx gets the three count! He stole the championship! Mysterio was just about to break it up, but was a split second too slow. It may have only been signed a scant two weeks ago, but as Tony says, these men have been wrestling one another for years and know exactly what they each can do in the ring. It stays a mostly clean matchup, as Owen goes out of his way to outmaneuver and outwrestle the husband of his sister. However, Davey is no slouch, and as soon as he catches Hart, the power game takes over completely. Heenan is able to place Owen's foot on the bottom rope to save him after he gets drilled with the running powerslam. Hart is able to take over again after a spinning heel kick, and he even locks in the Sharpshooter! Tony notes that Owen hasn't used that move in a few years, ever since coming to WCW much really. Smith is able to reach the ropes, but Hart pulls him back into the center of the ring……. and then the bell sounds. Gary Cappetta consults with Charles, and it turns out that twenty minutes have passed – unfortunately, this match is a draw.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>20:00 Time Limit Draw </em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Owen's gimmick is stale. Rio charges in with several shoulder tackles, but finds himself charging into a powerslam to get pinned. The Crew don't last much longer either, as Puma swats them away and lays them both down with big press slams before splashing them both to score the victory over them. All that is left is Ace, who's apparent “powers of nullification” are the reason that the King has not used his super speed in months. Once Puma is able to get his hands on Steel, he wastes no time in punishing him. Ace cries out “Sister, help!” to Nurse Ana (in one of those subplots of this story that I did a horrible job at fleshing out) but she can do nothing but watch in horror as Steel is crushed under the might of King Puma. The three count is registered, and King Puma has single-handedly destroyed the Dungeon of Doom. Dr. Karnage is screaming from the outside that he will be back with another foolproof plan to end King Puma and rule the world yet, but police are on hand, and they haul each of the Dungeon members away! Piper tells them that tonight is the night that they get the respect they deserve, as he assumes control of World Championship Wrestling and sets the three of them on easy street for the rest of their careers. “No more young punks, no more working little autograph tables, it's just Turner money from now until doomsday!” Piper adds that he doesn't know what happened to Flair earlier, asking the others if they did it. Both Paul and Randy shrug, saying that they don't know, Roddy just chalking it up to how Flair does have a lot of enemies; he wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Austin himself doing it. Savage is pumped, as he says that anyone who stands in their way will just be fired, and The Madness will course through WCW like a poison, yeah! Orndorff chimes in over what else Savage had to say (Savage was meant to say that traitor Dusty was going to be out of here first) talking a little too excitedly about getting in the cage and piledriving people into submission. What? The segment is saved by a surprise guest, which silences all three: <strong>Hollywood Hulk Hogan</strong> walks into the room, and he has a tense moment with all three of them. He takes Piper's hand, and that puts a smile on Roddy's face, who really starts pumping up Savage and Orndorff now. Randy gives Hogan a sideways glance, but he takes it in overall. Paul claps Hogan on the shoulder, welcoming him to the fold as Piper starts pouring some of the champagne that is prepared for the KoW's victory ceremony, saying that they can start a little early – because just wait for the celebration that we'll have tomorrow on Nitro! </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Piper worked the crowd really well here, but Orndorff struggled.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: B+</em></span></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/banner.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/ricksteiner2.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/scottsteiner2.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The camera pans around to the front row of the audience, where Rick and Scott Steiner can be seen. Barry hits a piledriver on Hawk, but Hawk pops right back up, hitting Darsow with a running clothesline using the chain! Animal powerslams Adams on the concrete floor! We see some worry on the face of <strong>Dusty Rhodes</strong> as he is standing by his son <strong>Dustin</strong> and <strong>Lex Luger</strong>. Gene immediately asks them what is going on with Flair, as Dusty says he has no idea; someone attacked him and as far as he knows, he's been taken out of the arena. Dustin asks if they can substitute someone, but Dusty tells him that there isn't anybody else here to step in – Piper saw to that. Luger tells them that it doesn't matter if they have five guys or five-four guys on their side. This is about WCW, and he's gonna Rack all the KoW until one of them is crowned World champ. Dustin slaps Lex on the shoulder, agreeing with him as he tells Dusty that each of them have worked way too hard to get where they are to let the KoW win now! “The American Dream” gets all fired up, telling them that whoever is targeting Flair will have the Horsemen to deal with; that isn't their concern. Their only concern is destroying the Kings of Wrestling, and tonight, in The Match Beyond, baby, it will finally come to a head! Gene closes by wishing them luck, saying that all of World Championship Wrestling are counting on them tonight!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Dusty and Dustin improvised well, but Lex struggled to keep up and underperformed because of it.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: A</em></span></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/banner.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/vader3.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/vs.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/giant.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/woman.jpg</span><p> <strong>“The Monster” Vader vs. The Giant w/Woman</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Time Limit: 30:00</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;"> Referee: Mark Curtis</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Tony calls this a complete war of attrition, as the two massive beasts just throw huge smacks on one another. Vader is able to knock The Giant off of his feet, something that until now only Lex Luger has claimed to do, and he does it using one of his running body checks. “The Monster” delivers splashes, which have been enough to put most men on the shelf for at least a few days in the past but only gives him a two count here. The young Giant even powers up, kicking out of the Vader Bomb splash to the surprise of everyone, even Woman! Mark Curtis is dwarfed in this contest, and he gets sandwiched between the two by accident. Vader then finds a wooden chair, shoving Woman to the floor in the process, and he breaks it over the head of The Giant! The chair is literally hanging off of Giant's neck as he roars back at Vader! Vader kicks Giant low – a tactic that Ric Flair proved is effective, at least – but he just can't muscle Giant up into the power bomb. Giant back bodydrops Vader onto the mat, and he delivers “The Monster” to the mat with a very high angled bodyslam! Jesse says that he doesn't think he's ever seen Vader lifted that high off of his feet! With Mark Curtis beginning to stir, Giant grabs his former tag team championship partner around the throat and hefts him high into the air – before smashing him to the canvas with the Chokeslam! As hard as Vader tried, he was unable to stop the man who Jesse now dubs “The Rookie Monster” – and Giant just barely broke a sweat in decimating the man who had terrorized WCW for six years.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Winner in 10:20: The Giant</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: A</em></span></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/banner.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/scotthall2.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Out of the back struts <strong>Scott Hall</strong> with no music playing. Tony wonders where Hall's allegiance may lie, or is he going to use up this so-called “contractual title match” like Syxx did earlier and end up out on his butt? Hall stops and is handed a microphone by a stagehand. “Hey yo,” he says. Hall talks about how his “little buddy” already had a match and took WCW's United States title; “One, for the good guys,” he calls it. Scott says that people been wondering if he has a partner. “No duh, chico,” he answers, silencing all the critics. He says that he barely put in a phone call, and people came out of the woodwork. Harlem Heat are ready to fight as usual, however. Hall starts the match, but the crowd are loudly chanting for “Diesel! Diesel! Diesel!” Stevie Ray enters the ring, and Scott tags out to Nash, to big cheers from the crowd. They lock up, and Nash shoves Stevie away. After another shove or two, it's pretty obvious that Nash is playing with him a little bit. The battle of the big men in these teams leads into the corner, where Nash hits a series of knees to Ray's midsection. Nash tags out to Hall, who hits Stevie with a series of punches, measuring each one. Stevie manages to get a tag though, and Booker speeds up the contest with some running kicks and clubbing forearms. Nash dips the top rope though and Booker takes a big spill out to the floor! From there, it's all Hall and Nash for the next few minutes, as they confidently take Booker apart. Scott takes a few moments too long to set up the Outsider's Edge though, and he gets back body dropped to the mat! Booker makes the tag, but so does Hall, and everything goes crazy out there! Mark Curtis is unable to call for the bell as he is distracted by Jacqueline and Madusa on the outside – they certainly aren't having just any catfight though, these two ladies are out there throwing heavy punches at one another! Inside the ring though, Booker is shoved into the turnbuckle post shoulder first, putting him out of commission as Hall and Nash hammer Stevie Ray to the mat. The two of them work together as Nash delivers a ring shaking Powerbomb! Kevin makes the cover, and in his very first match (back) in WCW, he and Scott Hall are able to win the World Tag Team championships.</p><p> </p><p> However, they aren't all finished, as they stop by where the Steiner Brothers are sitting in the front row. A few words are exchanged as Hall and Nash show off their newly won titles, telling the Steiners to “bring it on, WCW punks,” but security are able to keep things calm. That is until Hall throws his toothpick at Scott, and then Scott Steiner starts trying to get over the barricade! Rick is quick to follow his brother, and the Steiners end up getting escorted completely out of the building, all because of Hall and Nash!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Winners in 8:22 and NEW World Tag Team champions: Kevin Nash & Scott Hall</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Nash debuted a Degenerate (Cool) gimmick at an A, and Madusa brought her Bitch gimmick to a B. After two years worth of verbal and physical attacks between WCW and the KoW, there's no feeling out process and there's no collar and elbow tie-ups. The two meet and immediately begin trading right hands, with Savage coming out on top after a thumb to Austin's eye. However when Savage moves in to capitalize, Austin throws his leg backwards to catch “The Macho Man” with a low blow! Austin charges and tackles Savage, and begins hammering him with right hands! He flips Randy off right in his face, before hitting the ropes and nailing him with a pointed elbow to the forehead! Savage gets dragged back to his feet by Austin, but blocks getting slammed into the cage by grabbing the ropes. He elbows Austin in the neck, before hitting him with a running double axe handle smash to the face. Savage drops down with knee drops to Austin's back before pulling him up. Savage starts choking Austin on the top rope, before pounding him face first onto the nearest turnbuckle pad. Savage takes a moment to step away and spin in a circle, taking in the jeers of the crowd as they chant “Austin, Austin” to rally their favorite redneck into this one – and Austin explodes out of the corner with a clothesline! He spins around and locks in a figure four leglock as the countdown begins. Tony takes a moment to point out a rule that “President Piper” made at the last minute on Nitro: there is no coin flip tonight, the order of entry was established by the winner of last Monday's eight man tag match, which was the Kings of Wrestling! Austin gets up from the hold and lifts Savage to his feet, and he hits him with the Stunner! Austin throws Savage into the opposite ring, and he stands right in the path of the KoW's entry door, motioning for them to bring it into the ring! </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/paulorndorff.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> “Mr. Wonderful” charges into the ring, ready to take Austin on. But Steve is waiting for him, as he quickly grabs Orndorff and hits him with the Stunner! Tony and Jesse talk about how there are no falls until both sides have all five men in the match, but wonder just what will happen with Ric Flair. Tony says that he won't be surprised to see Flair make a come back later, but they wonder which member of the Kings of Wrestling took him out earlier this evening. In the ring, Savage and Orndorff are finally able to work their advantage on Austin, as Savage reaches across the two sets of ropes to grab Austin and hold him for Orndorff to hit him with several punches in the stomach. They are finally all in the same ring, and Austin finally gets thrown harshly into the steel cage by both Orndorff and Savage! The blood begins to flow and stain the mat, and the two start hammering away on Austin, doing all they can to weaken him as the countdown begins again – this time to bring out someone for WCW's team.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/dustinrhodes.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> And out runs “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes! Tony talks about how Rhodes is one of the most decorated men in WCW, having held every eligible title in the company, and says that he could very easily help to turn the tide in this battle. Dustin storms the gates and starts taking it right to Savage, doing what he can to pull “The Macho Man” into the other ring in order to help Austin get an even matchup. Dustin blocks Savage in the corner and starts hitting him with a flurry of rights and lefts, even jumping up and grabbing the links of the cage roof in order to hit Savage with a double cowboy booted dropkick! Austin is punching away at Orndorff's midsection. As each man is paired off, the countdown begins again, this time in favor of the Kings of Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/roddypiper3.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> To Tony's surprise, “President Piper” slinks down the aisle and enters the match! He says that he would have expected Piper to wait until last, given the way he's done his “behind the scenes” schemes at every turn since the first time he stepped foot in WCW. But Piper reveals quickly that he didn't come all alone – he quickly produces a lead pipe out of his jacket, and he nails Austin in the ribs with it before cracking it across Dustin's forehead! Rhodes is now bleeding, especially when he's thrown into the steel cage. Roddy starts choking Dustin with the pipe down on the mat, as Savage stomps on his midsection. Austin is dropped with a piledriver from “Mr. Wonderful” as Paul continues the attack on Steve's head and neck especially. Piper comes over and starts assisting Orndorff now, the two stomping on Austin's prone body before picking him up and tying his arms in the ropes, allowing free access to attack him! But as the countdown begins, the secondary plan quickly becomes clear as now Austin is a non-factor as the next man from World Championship Wrestling hits the ring!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/brianpillman.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> It's Austin's former tag team partner, “The Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman! Brian wastes no time in rushing to the ring, dressed in military fatigues. Once in the ring, he immediately leaps over the ring ropes to dive onto Savage! Brian then turns around and throws handfuls of powder into the eyes of Orndorff! Austin is untied, and now it seems that the match is three on one, with Roddy Piper and his lead pipe as the only men left standing for the Kings right now! Roddy, to his credit, doesn't back down – he waves them on, and on they come! Piper tries to swing for each of them, but it's to no avail as they swarm him, to huge cheers from the crowd! Piper is thrown face first into the steel cage, and he drops to the mat in a daze! Austin goes to town on a bloody Piper in the corner with stomps as Pillman and Savage lock up in the other ring. Dustin hits the running bulldog on Orndorff to put him out of commission, as the countdown begins all over again.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/stingmask.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> And the fourth man into the match is the masked Sting! Sting wastes plenty of time here; slowly, casually he marches down toward the ring. Dustin follows him with his gaze as Sting walks over and delivers the World's Heavyweight championship to the timekeeper's table. Sting takes so long at climbing into the ring, that by the time he does, Piper is up and shoving Rhodes into the cage and stomping on him. Once the KoW have the advantage, then does Sting step into the ring. He pulls out the black baseball bat from his jacket sleeve, slamming it right between Austin's shoulder blades to send him to the mat. Pillman gets hit with it as well, and he also drops to the mat. The arrival of the World champion seems to have put the Kings of Wrestling firmly in the lead, and they retain that lead very strongly until the countdown begins again.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/lexluger.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> “The Total Package” runs down to the ring, but stops briefly at the door when he's met by the phalanx of four Kings of Wrestling members standing to block his entrance. The fans boo as he shoves Lex into the ring, as Tony says that it seems Hogan definitely made his choice about what side he is on. Tommy Young tries to block Hogan from entering the ring, but he throws Tommy aside! Hogan marches up the steps, laughing all the way into the cage. Jesse says that this is the first time Hollywood Hogan steps into War Games, and what a backhanded way he does it. Hogan asks for Piper's lead pipe, and the two stand over a kneeling Lex Luger as Hogan receives it. Orndorff comes along as well, lifting Luger up and holding him in place. Sting and Savage work over Pillman and Austin in the other ring, but it doesn't seem like there's anyone left to even come out here for WCW anymore. With Ric Flair out of action, nothing seems able to save World Championship Wrestling now.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> But Hogan hits Piper! And then he hits Orndorff with the pipe as well! Hollywood Hogan rips his KoW shirt off to show a yellow tanktop underneath it! Hogan throws the shirt at Randy Savage, and he punches Savage! Hogan is taking out the Kings of Wrestling on his own! Tony screams that Hulkamania is running wild on them! And just when the Kings are starting to get back to their bearings, Brian Pillman makes the save for Hulk by springing off the middle rope to clothesline Piper! Hogan looks at Brian – and he gives him the thumbs up! Hulkamania and Pillmania combine forces, and they decimate Piper, Orndorff, and Savage!</p><p> </p><p> But there's still one force that both of them seem unable to defeat, and that's the mysterious Sting and his baseball bat. Both men get nailed with the bat, and Sting ends up being the lone man standing in the ring. Sting deposits Hogan to the outside of the cage, and he digs into the pocket of his coat to reveal a padlock and chain! After hitting Dustin in the face with the chain, he uses it to lock Hogan and all that momentum against the KoW out of the cages! </p><p> </p><p> There is no more countdown, because Tony says that there is nobody left to come to the ring for either team now. Hulk is back on his feet again, pulling at the lock, but he can't manage to break it. Sting turns around and begins to lock the Scorpion Deathlock on Luger! Piper clamps a sleeper hold on Dustin, as Savage puts Austin in a figure four leglock. Orndorff piledrives Dustin, and it looks like it could be only a matter of time until one of these four men win the World Heavyweight championship!</p><p> </p><p> But we will never know if any of them actually submitted, as the lights go out in the Ice Palace Arena.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><iframe width="50" height="50" src="</p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rCc5em8Ftto?rel=0&showinfo=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/rCc5em8Ftto?rel=0&showinfo=0"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The lights come back on, and holy ****!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/sting4.jpg</span><p> </p><p> Sting is up on the top of the cage!</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> He stoically peers down into the cage at his masked doppelganger, and everyone's attention turns upward. All four KoW members drop what they're doing, and Hogan is even looking up to Sting. And then, Sting reveals that he didn't come with only a baseball bat; he has wire cutters under his jacket! Sting cuts through the top of the cage, as the Kings all stare in astonishment, not knowing what is happening – just like the rest of the audience. Sting drops into the ring, and after dropping the cutters, he points his bat toward the WCW team members. He stands between everyone, separating the ring between WCW and Kings alike, as he turns to point the bat toward the KoW members. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> He drops the bat in the center of the ring.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> And throws punches at the masked Sting! Elbows at Orndorff! Kicks to Piper and Savage! Sting is going crazy in there, and the crowd cheer as loudly as they can – this is what they've wanted to see for months! Steve Austin hits the Stunner on Orndorff, and Pillman grabs Savage and hits him with the Loaded Gun DDT! All that remains is Sting staring down at “Sting”!</p><p> </p><p> Sting goes to work on him, with alternating kicks and chops! He gets him back into the turnbuckle and rushes – Stinger Splash! “Sting” is dazed, as Sting hits a face crusher on him! Sting then picks him up, and off comes the mask! Finally, the crowd get to see who the man has been all this time!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/rickrude.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>“Ravishing” Rick Rude</strong> stands before the Bash at the Beach crowd! Lex Luger approaches Sting – but he picks the bat up quickly and points it at his chest. Sting motions to Luger that the Kings are regrouping in the other ring, so “The Total Package” heads there to take care of them. Sting then turns back to Rude, who has been using his likeness for months now under the guise of Sting having joined the Kings of Wrestling. Sting envelopes Rude with more chops, before turning him around and dropping him with a reverse DDT! Sting then turns him over into the Scorpion Deathlock!</p><p> </p><p> In the other ring, Austin hits Orndorff with the Stunner, and Tommy Young is finally able to get into the ring to try and count a submission – and Rude screams! Rick Rude has submitted! We have a new World Heavyweight champion, just as Hogan and Piper were starting to converge on the hold!</p><p> </p><p> The stipulations of the match finally ring out in Roddy's head, and he slumps to his knees. The cage begins to raise, as Hogan starts celebrating his role in having helped WCW destroy the KoW. Lex jumps up and down, elated in victory! Pillman meets with Hogan in the ring, and the combination of the two posing in one ring drives the crowd crazy! Austin shakes his head, leaving the ringside area, not caring to celebrate with his team; it's on to the future for Austin.</p><p> </p><p> But as time goes on, Rick Rude continues screaming in pain; Sting has still not released the Scorpion Deathlock. Officials start hitting the ring, and Lex Luger comes over as well. Tony says that Rude took all that time off because of an injured back, and the longer this goes, the more painful this is getting to watch, as Sting screams while continually punishing the back of Rude in the hold!</p><p> </p><p> Finally, Sting releases him; feeling that he has delivered the proper receipt for the agony that Sting has gone through for the past year. </p><p> </p><p> And for the first time since 1992, Sting is handed the World's Heavyweight championship title.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Winners in 31:26: World Championship Wrestling</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Piper's gimmick had become stale. Things are tense – but he gives Sting a thumbs up! Hogan tells Sting that he's sorry, but Sting doesn't give him a lot of acknowledgment. The elder members of Four Horsemen look into the ring, and Hogan is caught in between them and the ring! Tony is shocked that Flair even made it back to the arena, as a thick bandage covers his head and ribs. Flair and Anderson look on, and Sting nods at them. It appears that, just because he won the championship that has eluded him for the past two years, doesn't mean his fight is over.</p><p> </p><p> But for now, Sting gets on the second turnbuckle and raises the championship high, as Tony and Jesse talk about how good a sight this is to finally see, after all this time!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/Starrcade-1997-Sting.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: The celebration seemed to be cut a little short. Ted tells WCW congratulations on getting rid of that group of fossils and has-beens that called themselves the Kings of Wrestling. DiBiase even wishes Sting the best for his “soon to be <em>very</em> brief” title win. Ted says that when he came to WCW, they begged him to help tear down the Kings of Wrestling, and he did it. And he played along with a few jokes along the way, like some fake lawyer and embarrassing one of his best friends. “But the time to laugh and celebrate is over, guys. Because the bar has been raised right here tonight.” Kevin Nash leans over to say into the microphone that “The new standard? You're lookin' at 'em.” Ted says that WCW thought they just won a war, but really, the war was only prolonged until WCW would destroy itself – and that's what they did.
