Carving out Guerrilla Glory[Thunderverse]

Recommended Posts

It is the year 2014.

American wrestling is dominated by the battles of Big Four.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/AWF_zpsc8111b95.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/CWT_zps2d6f0659.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/DRAGON_zps87b883bd.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/PWI_zps1fb95f95.jpg

This story is not about them.

The wrestling scene is also witness to a couple of promotions indulging in the most hardcore of brawls you will ever see in the world.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/PWSUX_zps383fe5ca.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/ECXW_zpse7fb4ae0.jpg

This story is not about them either.

American wrestling scene has come a long way and here you will find a variety of promotions jostling for glory.

You have a couple of touring promotions

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/WrestlasaurasX_zps44fc4f2b.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/GAW_zps28b63485.jpg

While the 1st one incorporates comedy lucha libre in its shows, the other is home to all the old rotten fossils that who want the spotlight even in their state of utter irrelevance.

Comedy lucha libre might be in thing as it gets a second home in

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/POW_zpsa14688f1.jpg

You have a network run promotion and an all-female unit

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/TheClub_zps5c6a05c5.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/AWW_zps0de0bebe.jpg

Then there are small promotions dotted around different territories trying to carve out a legacy for themselves.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/HCG_zps8d56dde9.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/LWA_zpsa2003bf5.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/SWA_zps17de0c6c.jpg

This story doesn't care about any of this bollocks. They can carry on doing whatever sh*t they do.

Thanks Guys.

This dynasty will be running alongwith my NWF dynasty.

This diary starts in 2014. I have played the whole of 2013 to get a good feel of the promotion. I will be summarising the entire 2013 season divided into different title scenarios before posting my 1st show.

Michigan, i agree with your comparison of GWS to PWG though the first time i played with the promotion, i thought of it as the Coastal Zone of Thunderverse.

2013 Season

GWS People's Representative Title Scene

Riley Johansen came into 2013 as the champion but his reign was starting to rot.

He had some very average matches with Eric Wayne and Rico Escobar for the title and it was clear that the title needs transitioning as soon as possible. On the other hand, Pierre Lejosne was slowly becoming the VIP of the promotion having some marquee match-ups for his Red Phoenix title especially with Ares.

Having come out on top of that feud, he declared that he is ready to challenge Johansen for the main belt and gave up his Red Phoenix title to become the challenger.

Finally that match-up became reality during GWS Revolucion in June, when Pierre Lejosne defeated Riley Johansen inside a steel cage to become the new champion in one of the best matches of GWS till that point.

As a champion, Pierre was far better than the previous champ. He raised the prestige of the belt by having good matches with both members of Martel & Lisbon, 24/7 Express and of course his usual foes Ares and Riley.

It was now evident that making Pierre the figurehead of the company was a great move and it was paying dividends. But now the problem was finding the next challenger for him as he had run through most of the major names in GWS.

They hit a gold mine when they saw Golden Age Wrestling was struggling with finances and pundits predicted that company would close down very soon. this forced their roster to look for jobs elsewhere and GWS swooped in to sign the only person that was worth signing fro them as most of the others were all broken down has beens.

In the following Warfare show, the hype videos began for that person and after the end of the title match between Pierre Lejosne and Zach Martin, we finally saw the debutante walking down the ramp and it was none other than the second generation star, Richie Santana Jr. The crowd popped real hard for him. The build up was started for the epic match between these two and finally after 3 months of both of them wrestling together, cutting promos on each other, saving each other from common enemies, they were to get face to face and the match did not disappoint and in the last show of the year, GWS Machine Gun Politics, Pierre and Richie wrestled each other. The crowd was red hot for the match and these two fought like a dream pair as well executing holds and counter holds, reversing each other's finisher and finally the big moment that all were waiting for came when Richie Santana Jr hit his third Flying Santana(Flying Cross Body) of the match and this time pinned successfully to become the new champion. Also, this match was the first ever B- rated match of the promotion according to TEW.com.

With Richie as the champ and list of contenders growing every day, what will 2014 bring??

GWS Red Phoenix Title Scene

After Pierre vacated this title as he wanted bigger fish to fry, a 4 way match was held to determine the new champ and Eric Wayne became the new champ. He has held the title so far since winning it and looks for a long run with the title. His on-off feud with Rico Escobar failed to catch any fire while his matches with Riley Johansen and Waveriders were ok at best.

But his recent rivalry with monster heels like Bear Rusev and Tony Ramos has led to a renewed interest in his reign as everybody loves a good old David vs. Goliath story.

Lets see what 2014 holds for us??

GWS Top Militia Title Scene

Martel & Lisbon who had held the titles since July 2012 continued their good form and in the later part of the year got engaged in a blood feud with Waveriders(Riptide & T-Bomb). This feud marked the end of Waveriders as having failed to win the titles from Martel & Lisbon, T-Bomb turned on his own partner assaulting him vigorously and marking the start of rivalry between former partners which has not been resolved yet.

We also saw a couple of new teams in GWS as 24/7 Express made their debut in August and Brandon Morgan and John O' Shea got together as Club Animals having discovered their great tag chemistry.

Also, Furlong Brothers debuted in early June and created quite an impact defeating every major team in the promotion. They also scored a huge upset when they defeated Martel & Lisbon in a non-title match to earn a contendership. In the last show of the year, Furlong Brothers triggered a second title change of the night when they defeated Martel & Lisbon. In the process, they became dual tag champions as they were also the current champs in HCG.

Live from Phoenix High School Auditorium, Arizona, South-West

Attendance:300 (Sold Out)

Ernesto: Welcome folks once again to Arizona. We have a blockbuster line-up of matches in this 1st show of 2014.

Camilo: Yes right Ernesto, starting with Red Phoenix title match which is next. Eric Wayne takes on the monster Tony Ramos.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/ErikWayne_zps5804cbdb.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/TonyRamos_zpse2915d24.jpg

GWS Red Phoenix Title Match: Eric Wayne vs. Tony Ramos

Tony Ramos dominated Eric early on throwing him around like a rag doll but the champ came back through sheer will power and won the match after hitting his patented Reality Hits You Hard.

Winner: Erik Wayne (makes defense no. 8 of his Red Phoenix Title)

Grade: 34

1st title match of 2014. It was a decent title defense for Eric.

After the match, we see Riley Johansen and T-Bomb running into the ring and attack Eric sending him out of the ring. Toni Ramos follows it up with a thunderous Mountain Bomb on guard rails.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RileyJohansen_zpsc8cf1bd8.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/T-Bomb_zps85857db0.jpg

Riley: So, Eric you have been holding this title for long and my boys have an eye on that. it's time real people hold the belt and not some freaking punk like you. Also, i take this time to welcome T-Bomb to our alliance. Next month, me and T-Bomb challenge you and a partner of your choice to a tag match and if we win, you will continue to put your title on the line against each and everyone of us until you lose it.

Attack: 16/Promo: 32

A decent promo from Riley initiating the feud against Erik.

GWS Top Militia Title Match: Furlong Brothers vs. 24/7 Express

A good tag title match between Furlong Brothers and 24/7 Express ending in a win for the champs when Big Al hit his Final Cut on Zach Martin.

Winner: Furlong Brothers(makes defense no. 1 of their Top Militia titles)

Grade: 42

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/Ares_zps6d790042.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RobbieMartel_zpsb2f768c4.jpg

People's Representative #1 Contender's Match: Ares vs. Robbie Martel

Ares did all the high-lifting in the match finally ending the match with a High Release German Suplex. He hit a second German Suplex for fun before pinning Martel.

Winner: Ares

Grade: 36

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/Ares_zps6d790042.jpg

Ares: What is happening to this company?? The People's Representative belt is the crowning glory of the company and that Hawaiian sh*tpuddle , Richie Santana Jr has no business holding the belt, neither do that Canadian inbred, Pierre. It doesn't matter, who wins the title tonight as next month, the dream is over and the belt arrives in Hell's Kitchen.

Promo: 42

Ares is one of our best talkers and he was given this time to hype his title match next month and flesh out his character a little bit.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/PierreLejosne_zps270af2b9.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RichieSantanaJr_zpsc32b83a6.jpg

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/GWS_Peoples_zps0d4188e7.jpg

GWS People's Representative Title Match: Richie Santana Jr. vs. Pierre Lejosne

Once again two of our best wrestlers wrestled a great match. Though it was not as good as their last match, it was still the best of the night. Slick moves and counter moves by both of them resulted in some fast paced action. In the end, Richie Santana retained with his impressive looking Flying Santana(Flying Cross Body).

Winner: Richie Santana Jr. (Makes defense no. 1 of his People's Representative title)

Grade: 66

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RichieSantanaJr_zpsc32b83a6.jpg

Richie: Ares, you talk big but can you back it up?? I am not the one to back down from any challenge. Ares, you have been in this promotion longer than me but what have you done?? When Riley was the champ, you kissed his ass and became his bodyguard to get opportunity but that didn't take you anywhere as he lost the title. When Pierre became the champ, you tried sneak attacks, devious assaults but you still could not win the title and now when i am the champ, you are trying to shake me by mouthing insults. Well, it's not gonna work. As you must know, i come from an enormous legacy and i know how to continue living up to that. So,Ares, BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Promo: 50

Great promo to end the show. Sending people home happy and getting the largest pop of the night so far.

SHOW GRADE: 54

So, we finished 2nd in the battle. That's the position we are aiming at considering The Club is miles ahead of us in terms of financial muscle as well as popularity as they have a TV show to build it up.

Their four main eventers, Chad Zuma, Peter Iaukea(Kay Pasa) , Travis Stine and Dragon of Death has been putting in good matches for them. With these four in form, the future looks bright.

Four episodes of The Club on Pop netted them a constant 0.03 for each, which meant they were stagnant.

HCG had a 49 rated Vendetta show which had the main event of Mike Santorelli defeating Big Harris for HCG Hollywood title which scored a 55 according to TEW.com.

So, now with that covered it was time to look forward to our next edition of Warfare.

Bear Rusev vs. Angelo Santana

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Bear Rusev defeated Angelo Santana in 10:11 by pinfall with a Big Bear Punch

Grade: 37

A match designed to give the cousin of Richie some experience under his belt. Though still green, but he sold the Big Bear Punch like a pro.

Main Show

Ernesto: Welcome folks once again to Arizona for another edition of Warfare.

Camilo: Yes, this place is packed to the rafters and as usual, another action packed night awaits us. We start with another title defense of Furlong Brothers and this time they have Club Animals in their sight who likes to party more than they like to wrestle but don't underestimate them especially when they have that dastardly Russian Anton Morozov on their side.

GWS Top Militia Title Match: Furlong Brothers vs. Club Animals w/ Anton Morozov

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, The Furlong Brothers defeated Culture Club in 14:05 when Big Harris defeated James O'Shea by pinfall with The Final Scene.

Winner: Furlong Brothers( makes defence no. 2 of their Top Militia titles)

Grade: 50

Anton Morozov tried hard to give his clients an advantage by interfering couple of times but the champs would have none of it as Al throwed Morozov out while Harris finished the match.

Ernesto: Good win for the champs but that Morozov will not be sitting idle, that's for sure.

Camilo: Hopefully, this title run continues for long and now as we already see in the ring, Riley and T-Bomb is in the ring.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RileyJohansen_zpsc8cf1bd8.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/T-Bomb_zps85857db0.jpg

Riley: So, Mr. Wayne, who have you got?? Who in the locker room is stupid enough to mess with us or have you brought in outside help?? Nobody will save you Eric so you better give up.

T-Bomb: That's the truth.

Grade: 32

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RileyJohansen_zpsc8cf1bd8.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/T-Bomb_zps85857db0.jpg W/ http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/TonyRamos_zpse2915d24.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/ErikWayne_zps5804cbdb.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/Riptide_zpsbff4fc13.jpg

(Riley Johansen + T-Bomb)w/Tony Ramos vs. (Erik Wayne + Riptide)

Riptide came out along with Erik Wayne which shocked T-Bomb.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Riley Johansen and T-Bomb defeated Erik Wayne and Riptide in 11:43 when Riley Johansen defeated Riptide by submission with a Ri-Rack.

Winner: Riley Johansen & T-Bomb

Grade: 40

Combining two feuds into one and involving both Riptide and T-Bomb into the Red Phoenix title picture. T-Bomb never looked comfortable with Riptide involved but this marked the downfall as Tony Ramos took Erik out of the ring and Riley cashed on this opportunity locking his Ri-Rack on Riptide for the win

After the match, as an added insult, Tony Ramos hit a thunderous Mountain Bomb on both Riptide and Erik Wayne.

Attack: 31

Camilo: That bastard Riley finds a way to trump Erik. Now, he has to put his title on the line against each of Riley's men. How long will he survive??

Ernesto: I hope Erik teaches a lesson especially to that monster Ramos. 2 months in a row, he has assaulted Erik.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/PierreLejosne_zps270af2b9.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RobbieMartel_zpsb2f768c4.jpg

Pierre Lejosne vs. Robbie Martel

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Pierre Lejosne drew with Ricky Binks in 11:51 following an assault to both by a person running in.

The camera zoomed in and we saw the face of the attacker.

It's Paul Crowley!!!

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/PaulCrowley_zps9413b688.jpg

Winner: Draw due to referee stoppage

Grade: 44

We are a little face heavy in the main event scene with Ares the only heel. So, Paul Crowley is brought in to play a supporting lead to Ares.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/Ares_zps6d790042.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/PaulCrowley_zps9413b688.jpg

Ares walks out after the ring has been cleared and draws a big smirk on his face.

Ares: So, Pierre don't think that i forgot about you. After i win the match today, you will again interfere. Last year, you managed a couple of fluke wins over me and i have not forgotten it. So, to take care of that, i have brought in this fine young guy, straight outta tough gyms of Wigan, the "Revolution" Paul Crowley. So, just a word of caution boys, Just Stay Clear or You Will Face Your Worst Fears!!!!

Promo: 31

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/Ares_zps6d790042.jpg Vs. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse%20People/RichieSantanaJr_zpsc32b83a6.jpg

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/GWS_Peoples_zps0d4188e7.jpg

GWS People's Representative Title Match: Ares vs. Richie Santana Jr.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Richie Santana Jr defeated Ares in 14:52 by pinfall with a Flying Crossbody.

Winner: Richie Santana Jr. (makes defense no. 2 of his People's Representative Title)

Grade: 58

Another good match by Richie Santana this time involving Ares. Even though not as good as Pierre-Richie matches but it was still a good match. We have now confidence in our main eventers and hopefully they will carry the promotion forward with every passing month.

After the match, Ares was livid with losing and he alongwith Paul Crowley took out all their frustrations on the champ delivering three consecutive High Release German Suplexes which shook the daylights out of Richie. Before he could do further damage, cavalry came in the form of Pierre who rushed to the ring with a chair and swinged it hard forcing Ares and Paul Crowley to leave. The show ended with our top two faces - Pierre and Richie standing in the ring in a staredown with Ares and Paul who stood on the ramp.

Attack & Save: 45

SHOW GRADE: 50

Speaking of GAW, any plans for a return?

... still eagerly awaiting your GAW diary. When are you planning to resume??

I want to start up again as soon as possible, but I finally start a new job in April which, until we finally get moved, is going to have a 4 hour round trip commute, 6 days a week. It is an awesome job though, in one of the nicest offices to work in around where loads of people I know work and the same place my wife recently got a job, so it's well worth it!

So I'm hoping to get the next show done before then (I can't even remember if I've run it yet!), then continue at a seriously slow progress until we're all settled & sorted when normal service can resume. If I could find a way of writing in notepad on the train without taking my son's laptop I'd be sorted

Anywho, great show kanegan ;)

Thanks MJ Stark, sorry for the delay as i was travelling for office work.

.

Enforcer, you nailed the predictions as well as the mystery partner of Erik Wayne. Atleast somebody had read my 2013 summary post.

The monthly follow up post will be up shortly.

Another good show and now time once again to look at the Regional Battle.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/LogoBanners/regional_battle_zpse19665ff.jpg

Month: February 2014

Location: South West (USA)

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/WrestlasaurasX_zps44fc4f2b.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/TheClub_zps5c6a05c5.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/GWS_zpsfdce62f5.jpghttp://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o566/kanegan/TEW/T-verse/HCG_zps8d56dde9.jpg

So, Wrestle-X starting their tour in this month pushed us to 3rd from 2nd.

Wrestle-X had a good start to their tour with their monthly big event, making great waves. Here are the results:

Wrestle-X Battle Lines 2

El Hijo del Prodigio defeated Mike Suzuki – 59

Riptide, T-Bomb & California Kid against Joey Sleaze, Black Idol & Scorpion ended in no contest – 45

Confederate Superstar defeated Johny Cross – 45

Derek Grace defeated Tommy Schultz – 65

American All Star defeated El Mariachi for the Wrestle-X World Title – 64

Show Rating: 62

So, crowning of a new champ propelled them to end the show on a strong note.

The Club also continued their strong line up of events though their TV rating hit the plateau of 0.03 neither going up or down.

Their monthly big event Fighting Zone was another good event.

The Club Presents: The Fighting Zone 14

The Law defeated Jon-O – 24

Purity of Purpose defeated Luchadors de Destruccion – 52

Markus Ca$h against Justice ended in a no contest – 36

Stevie Vortex defeated Christian and Markus Franklin – 61

Murder One, Scott Seal and Dragon defeated Silverback, de Brun and Corbin Trent – 64

Peter Iaukea defeated Chad Zuma – 72

Travis Stine defeated Brad Novocaine to retain The Club Championship – 53

Show Rating: 58

So, a weak title match in the main event tanked the ratings a little pushing them down to 2nd in the regional wars.

Just wanted to let everybody know that there will be no preview post and the show will be up as i wanted to get the show out as it has been a week since my last show and thanks to the person who gave me one star atleast he took the pain of going to my thread and tagging it with a single star. But that said, it will not stop me from putting out my shows and carrying this dynasty forward as long as i can. You can keep tagging me with single stars but i will keep coming back. Ha Ha.........:p
