http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_TNA2_zps4ac7afbe.jpg FINAL IMPACT before Victory Road

the show was designed to try to build buy rates more than quality of matches and time will tell if the strategy worked.

7,200 sold out the Mayo Center in Rochester MN

Bobby Roode dispatched TJ Perkins (77) in a good match the fans were not all that interested in.

Afterward, Austin Aries joins his partner to let us know they are not pleased at all to be defending the titles against Haas and Benjamin. They claim to be the world's greatest tag team, but we will prove otherwise.

(98)

Chavo & Hernandez defeat Jessie and Robbie T. They worked well together tonight as their chemistry showed out. They are eager to face Sex Appeal and get back into title contention

(59)

Sonjay Dutt vs Shawn Davari - Davari wins with Magic Carpet Ride

(56). Iron Duke, Sir Stu Sanders called Davari over for consultation after the match.

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_BillGoldberg2_zpsa8eba7cb.jpghttp://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Sting_zps593f3b32.jpg

Goldberg and Sting exchange words about their upcoming match at Victory Road:

Sting: Goldberg, you may be big and you may be bad but the Stinger never backed down from a fight from anyone. For over a decade you and I have been on top in this business and for years everyone has wondered who was better. At Victory Road, we'll finally answer that question. I don't care how many Aces you have up your sleeve, when I lock on the Scorpion Deathlock, you're finished.

Goldberg: stared at the camera as Jeremy Borash ran down the acheivements of Sting - "the man is a 6 time WCW world champ" (Goldberg flexes his shoulders), he is a 2 time NWA world champ, (Goldberg raises his shoulders and cracks his neck side to side), and he is a 4 time TNA champion of the world" -- Goldberg grabs the microphone "STING........You're next"

(85)

ODB and Velvet Sky upset the tag champs Gail Kim and Madison Rayne in a non-title match. ODB is on a roll and will face Knockouts Champ Mickie James at Victory Road(64) video detailing the Paul London vs Adam Windsor story (27)

http://images-partners-tbn.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSIM86lNLHzGjGGG-QjMkqLXXn2lpTODj82ixk5--KhurJnJjAKfxvjGQ

Zema Ion vs Jay Briscoe (76)

both guys hold back a little, but deliver great action and average heat. Zema Ion scores maybe the biggest win in TNA by pinning Briscoe after "From Lust to Dust" ( a snapmare driver)

James Storm blames his loss last week on Paul Burchill "I'll get my revenge at Victory Road and then I'll want another match with the Iron Duke"

(73)

6-man tag: Aces and Eights vs Team TNA

DOC, Knox, and Wes Brisco came out to represent Aces. Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe came out for TNA. However, they were one man short......Aces chided them that no one in TNA has the guts to stand up to them. The lights flicker and Team TNA has their 3rd man appear at the top of the rampway.....A. J. S T Y L E S!!! Styles charged the ring as Joe and Hardy attacked Aces while their backs were turned. As Aces tried to send reinforcements, Jay and Mark Briscoe cut off Garrett Bischoff and pummeled him. Styles Clash on Wes Brisco for the win. (77)

At Victory Road, The Aces will have their Most Violent Person on their team while Samoa Joe counters with Eric Young and his tag team partner Magnus. Jeff Hardy meanwhile vies for the TNA World title in his rematch against Christopher Daniels

Daniels defends his world title in a 80 rated tv main event. Afterward, he toys with his fallen challenger prompting Jeff Hardy to come out -- Hardy lost the title in a 3-way contest.....At Victory Road it will be mano-a-mano. Hardy and Daniels square off nose to nose as the show goes fades out.

Final Show Rating = 81

Spike Rating: 7.34 (up from 7.16, so fans tuned in to learn about Victory Road)

There is still time to get in your predictions for Victory Road

extra poll question: Garrett Bischoff's contract is up for renewal. The 28 year old has 3 years experience and is currently written for $5,000 a month. He wants a $900 a month raise. He has 72 popularity in the SE and 42 everywhere else. Do we resign him or let him go?

Breaking Kayfabe for a moment -- you may or may not know that TNA Star Zema Ion was unexpectedly diagnosed with an appendicitis, and while examining his condition, doctors found a 5 cm tumor on his colon. Below is a website where you can donate to help pay his medical bills. I'm surprised TNA has not hosted a benefit show for him (as some indy territories have). Regardless, if you choose to help you can use the link below:

TNA VICTORY ROAD

All roads lead to Knoxville TN - where a sold out Thompson Boling Arena is ready for tonight's action

Preshow:

Aaron Draven makes a few new friends in the lockerroom as he brings enough beer to float a boat -- all for the most match celebration of course

Crime & Punishment win a good match over the Iron Saints (76)

10 man Battle Royal - comes down to Matt Morgan, Robbie E, Robbie T, and AJ Styles. The 3 heels beat down AJ and things look bleak for him, but then the Robbies turn on Matt Morgan who had thrown 5 other men so far and try to toss him. Morgan overpowers them and is able to toss both. Meanwhile, Styles recovers runs in behind Morgan and dumps him while he gloats. AJ Styles is your winner. 77

Show opens with Sting getting psyched up for his match, and Ric Flair is right there promising to renew some Horsemen magic tonight.

(100)

Camp Cobra (Gunner, Mercer, King, Lethal) defeat The Sheik's Army - solid action, but the crowd did not seem to care much. Mercer, Gunner, and Lethal all came out of the match looking good. Odd ending though as Special Forces did the damage and Kenny King followed up with a Coranation and got the pin. King and Lethal celebrate with Slaughter, but Special Forces did not join in - thinking they should have gotten the actual pin

61

Mickie James hypes up her title match, flanked by her boys Zema Ion and Jessie (76)

Mickie James vs ODB (76)

the match lived up to Mickie's hype -- Mickie scores the win and first title defense

Briscoes vs Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff

both teams showed great chemistry and went all out to deliver a good match. Wes wanted the match since he said Jay & Mark disrespected his family name - and it was Wes that scored a huge upset here when he used Jack's old Oklahoma Roll to pin Jay!! 12:28

(86)

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Paul_London_zpsab974533.jpg vs http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Adam_Windsor_zps8057c1fe.jpg

Paul London vs Adam Windsor

solid action in the ring, but could not get the crowd going. Sir Stu gets involved and helps Adam score the win. London is none to happy as Windsor and Sanders make fun of London saying he needs to join his mentor Dory Funk at the retirement home

(60)

Chavo & Hernandez vs Sex Appeal

both teams looking to climb into tag title contention - both teams have great chemistry and put on a good match, but cannot wake up the crowd who must be sitting on their hands waiting for the main events. Chavo was visibly frustrated during the match as the young upstart team was out doing them at every turn. He finally blows a gasket and hits his own partner!! Zema Ion takes advantage and rolls up Hernandez for the upset win

(75)

Zema and Jessie celebrate and call in a gaggle of hot women to help them

(65)

Joey Ryan defeats Kenny Omega - good action, no heat. Omega has to shave his head after the match and the saga of Clippers Joey Ryan continue

(63)

Team TNA defeats Aces and Eights when Magnus lands a Mag Daddy Driver on Mike Knox - we got to an average crowd response

(63)

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_James_Storm7_zps80a74f96.jpg vs http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Paul_Burchill_zps33cbeeca.jpg

James Storm defeats Paul Burchill

Storm was on fire - he was ready for Adam Windsor when he tried to run in. Superkick puts away Burchill. Great action, good crowd

(85)

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Rob_Van_Dam_ECW_zps9a393bba.jpg vs http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_FrankieKazarian_zpsf13d9f42.jpg

RVD vs KAZ (86)

X-Division title on the line. These guys deliver great action and a good crowd enjoys it. Christy Hemme joins Kaz and provides a nice distraction at ringside. Lots of high flying action. Kaz avoids the 5 star frog splash and hits the Wave of the Future to become the new X-Champ

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_BillGoldberg2_zpsa8eba7cb.jpg vs http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Sting_zps593f3b32.jpg

Goldberg vs Sting

great heat and great action - however, neither guy wanted to sell for the other. They worked well enough until the match spills to the floor. They continue to clobber each other and don't heed the referee's 10 count. DCOR in 14:56.

Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan argue about the ending and it is decided that next month at Lockdown Goldberg will meet Sting inside a steel cage match

(100 rating)

WGTT vs Aries-Roode

great action, good crowd/ Roode pins Haas with the payoff

*88 rating*

Bully Ray comes out to hype the upcoming world title match - he says he doesn't care who wins the match, but he wants the winner next month (99)

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Chris_Daniels3_zpsf2917a51.jpg vs http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_Jeff_Hardy12_zps6f6521ac.jpg

Christopher Daniels vs Jeff Hardy -- TNA WORLD TITLE

great action and a sizzling crowd!! Back and forth action for 25 minutes when Daniels reads the Last Rites and scores the pin (defense #3)

(92 Rating)

Final Show Rating = 90

PPV Buy Rate = 3.03 (a new TNA record!!)

Great show! Keep TJ Perkins on, please. And push Zema Ion as well! :p

I think TJ is a keeper too. I originally signed him to a OVW development contract, but he was only there a week before he started saying he was ready for the big time. He doesn't quite have the popularity to make a big splash yet, but maybe I can find him a good tag team partner (like Jessie found in Zema Ion -- I was so happy they had excellent chemistry). As with others, if you have ideas on how to use and progress him, I'm open to the advice.

Zema Ion should continue to improve his standing as well. I like his team with Jessie G as Sex Appeal, but can see him making some noise as a singles too. Thanks for following along and double thanks for the input on these two guys!!

As for Victory Road - we only had 4 play the pick em game

The Lloyd came away the winner 7/12

Smasher1311 6/12

Kijar 4/12 and BHK1978 3/12

I let the AI choose the winners on the undercard, and they threw a few curves my way. Any feedback on the card appreciated.

the next PPV is Lockdown, and already trying to set up a couple good reasons to settle some feuds inside a cage (thus the extra interference and DCOR we saw at Victory Road)

Backstage with The Boss http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b544/vols21/th_MrOlympia_zps8b5fd5b0.jpg

Jerry was studying his notes and making a few phone calls to interested talent around the world as his creative team came in to discuss ideas and plans for the next few months:

AL Snow let out a small sound of astonishment as they walked in. "Sorry boss, you startled me, do you always wear that mask when you're in here alone?"

The reply was "not always, but I needed to put my thinking cap on today and this fit the bill."

As TNA gears up for Lockdown and then our first overseas trip as Sacrifice will be held in London England, ideas were tossed around for title matches and other good feuds to peak some interest. We are happy the promotion's momentum has increased to 26, but we need to double that in short order just to be viable. ideas discussed

1) a new title" The TNA 6-man tag titles. They discussed 8 combinations that would make for a fun little tournament, and serve as a good way to introduce one of the guys coming in.....Chuck Taylor

2) Commonwealth Army - so far only the British members are set, but some groundwork laid to add a couple more. They'd like to add a reliable tag team (someone suggested Irish Airborne, and I laughed). I proposed a major storyline angle for them to kick off in a couple months that got everyone's attention.

3) raised the issue of looking for an exit strategy for Aces and Eights. how long term are we looking for that stable to be? WE made a splash with Goldberg and needed to utilize him as long as he could hold out.

4) Raised the issue of the aging talent. Men like Sting, Golberg, Bully Ray, Joseph Parks, and Chavo Guerrero are showing their age. It impacts their matches to an extent and they can't wrestle forever. Are the younger guys getting up to speed fast enough?

5) Everyone was pleased with the recent additions of MVP and Sir Stu Sanders (aka Wade Sanders)

6) sounds like its is time to have Flair start scouting and filling his new stable

7) Tag team division is starting to shape up and will improve even more when negotiatons are completed with a few more teams.

8) Long range plan is to hold a major end of year tournament. "The Battle of New Orleans" in December would be a great showcase of our talent and maybe set in motion some feuds going into the new year.

9) lastly, I wanted to offer some congratulations to Kenny Omega who made the final four in the Best of the Super Juniors" (in real life). Let's hope Omega brings some of that fire back to TNA and gets on the winning track for us. WE could use some exciting tournament play like that for our X Division. Be thinking of a good name for such an event

(NOTE: I'm open to any suggestions for you readers since you are my creative team)

And one last thing before y'all go. Wearing the mask again reminded me that there are hardly any high profile masked wrestlers in the biz these days. I think a return to a masked star could do well. And I'm not talking about masking TJ Perkins as Puma - I want a superstar wrester. Someone to main event.....and I have a great idea......we have a TV taping in Hawaii i a couple weeks....get me Johnny Walker on the phone.....

==============================================================================================

a couple hours after the meeting, I had an uninvited guest. Hulk Hogan burst into the office with a laundry list of complaints.

He was not happy with the World title picutre -- "Does anyone care that Daniels is the champ? You need a big guy to carry the belt...someone like Bully Ray or even Joseph Parks.....and then maybe Devon or Goldberg from there.

I set up Aces & Eights as a huge deal, and you haven't built on that. You're giving the title matches to everyone else.

And you haven't got me going in any major storylines right now.....just a few meetings here and there with Sting or Flair. Get ME some more TV time!!!!

I was looking at number four and I seem to have that same problem. It seems like workers can never gain popularity quick enough in the game. I don't think it would be possible to have a stable like the Shield in TEW13 (Meaning a group of young workers from the developmental territory jumping directly into the main event).

I will say that your answer to all of your problems is just to do what any savvy promoter would do and hire Necro Butcher and bring back Jack Victory! Hey why did that guy just throw garbage at me? It was only a suggestion...:D

Popularity is moving: from 20 to 32 in SE; 10 to 20 everywhere else) thanks to his successful team with Zema Ion. Okay... this is tricky... I actually have a trios tournament coming up in my diary too... hope mine is equally as hard to predict!!

3) Kentucky Rednecks

Sheik's Army

2) Commonwealth Army (Burchill, Sanders, Windsor)

Young, Draven, Omega

1) Aces & Eights (Goldberg, MVP, DOC)

Crime & Punishment

4) Commonwealth Army 2 (Davari, Dutt, Sheepherder)

Camp Cobra (Lethal, King, James Storm)

With Commonwealth Army beating Shiek's Army

then Camp Cobra beating Aces and Eights

In the finals, I think Camp Cobra take it... i think anyway :)

  • 4 weeks later...

<p>the good news is I'm not dead yet, just still a crippled mess. If I was a horse, I think someone would have shot me by now. Doctors will re-evaluate in 30 more days!</p><p> </p><p>

With that said, I'm starting to feel a little better -- and alot more restless.</p><p> </p><p>

Plans are to update with a quick month-end summary of the other main promotions and get TNA moving again. One bit of good news for my TNA -- <strong>Chris Sabin</strong> has returned from injury and reported to OVW to work himself back into shape. Funny thing is I was toying with the idea of giving him a World title run at some point and then viola it happens in real life. May or not impact my long term plans. time will tell</p>

<p>A look back at TNA</p><p> </p><p>

World Champ Christopher Daniels. Won the belt from Jeff Hardy in early February and has 6 defenses. Current #1 contender is Bully Ray. They will settle things once and for all inside a steel cage at LOCKDOWN</p><p> </p><p>

World Tag Champs: Austin Aries and Bobby Roode - 5 defenses</p><p>

They held back the challenges of Haas & Benjamin and Crime & Punishment last month. At Lockdown, they will face Jay & Mark Briscoe in a huge rematch. It will also be an elimination match inside a cage.</p><p> </p><p>

X-Division: Frankie Kazarian -- won the title last month from RVD and has one successful defense so far. I'm currently working on setting him up a couple good challengers.</p><p> </p><p>

TV CHAMP: Brother Devon - 4 defenses</p><p>

He's been stingy defending the belt on TV. Dixie Carter wants to start drawaing a name out of the fishbowl each week to get some action on this belt. The matches he had against Shelton Benjamin and Mark Briscoe were a couple of his best matches, and he was lucky to still be holding the title at the end of March.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>other big news:</strong></p><p>

Jerry Stubbs called his good friend Johnny Walker out in Hawaii to propose an idea. A few weeks later, TNA travels to Hawaii and Mr Wrestling II presents his famous mask to a newcomer and Mr Wrestling III is born. The man's identity is shrouded in mystery, but he looks to make some noise in coming months</p><p> </p><p>

6-man tag title tournament is underway</p><p> </p><p>

The Aces and 8's stable storyline seems to have peaked at 95 and is drifting downward. Maybe they can revive their momentum with the Sting vs Goldberg match coming up at Lockdown.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Commonwealth Army</strong> is reborn. Sir Stu Sanders (Wade Barrett) joins Paul Burchill and Adam Windsor, then reach out to Sonjay Dutt and Shawn Davari.</p><p>

They picked a good feud for their debut as Windsor bad-mouthed his mentor and teacher Dory Funk Jr which prompted another of Funk's students, Paul London, to enter TNA and stick up for Dory. Cowboy James Storm has a lot of respect for the Funk Family and their DoubleCross Ranch and came to London's aid when he was gang attacked. They vow to have a mystery partner at Lockdown for the annual Lethal Lockdown showdown</p><p> </p><p>

Here is a look back at the Original Commonwealth Army from Texas (there was also a version in Tennessee). Also in this clip, you will see the father of future Horseman Tully Blanchard.</p><p> </p><p>
