Be Wild! Or at least be on time... [C-VerseXL]

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I'm always screaming at myself to cut things down, but I've got one show a month and it's two hours so I feel the need to pack everything in. I'm also trying to establish some characters who don't see a lot of diary action so these early shows are padded with entrance and characterization bits.

Maybe I should break the shows into two or three posts. Any opinions?

<p>I can see that working to get updates faster, which might help to keep momentum up. There's little as disheartening as sitting, looking at a long write-up of something you're working on and realising it's only half-finished.</p><p> </p><p>

Another random bit of advice: other diarists that I've spoken to have commented on the difficulty of writing between-show posts after the backstage environment cleans up, the initial run of incidents slows down, and there are no big developments in the wrestling world. Two strategies have successfully countered this problem: just wildly making shit up about the changing landscape backstage, and talking about booking theory and plans. Both are cool.</p><p> </p><p>

Other than that, I like your writing style, I like this promotion, and I'm definitely keeping on watching, even if I don't predict.</p>

<p>not sure how I missed the kick off of this, as I have been trying to look in on all the new diaries.</p><p> </p><p>

Great work. First time diaries are hard from many reasons. finding the balance of show length vs quantity of shows/post. balancing everything, and still finding the stick toitiveness can be hard.</p><p> </p><p>

my keys</p><p>

1) as long as you are enjoying the writing keep it up</p><p>

2) as long as you are not disappointed, and the write ups of a once a month show, come out more than once a real month, your doing fine.</p><p>

3) if your time commitments, or desire to write long shows change, don't be afraid to change the format mid stream to something that better fits your availability or change in vision.</p><p> </p><p>

good to have you around, and hope to see many more great shows.</p>

OOC Post: I really appreciate the comments and suggestions. I have no problem writing the shows (other than outside demands on my time), I'm more concerned about people finding them too long to read. For now I will keep doing things the way I've been doing them and see how they evolve naturally.

Here are the prediction results for The Savage Time, which are also the current 1st Quarter tally:

CageRage: 4/8

Psycho Sam: 3/8

Oregano Jensen: 3/8

3rdStringPG: 3/8

Given that half the roster are virtual unknowns and with everyone's pushes in a state of massive flux (that happens when half your workers start at 0 overness), I think you all did pretty well. I'll be awarding a prize at the end of the 1st Quarter (i.e. after the next show) and with nine points available (eight matches plus a bonus question), it's not too late to jump in.

Alt Renders:

Dragon Power by J Silver

Karen Killer by losttrem

Tamara McFly by Self

I believe all other renders are either TEW2013 defaults or alts I cobbled together myself. If I've missed a credit (or mis-credited something), please let me know.

<p>Personally, I have no issues with the length. Your write-ups are actually shorter than mine and E-V's, and I like the booker's notes at the end of each match. Having long write-ups, I'd admit, can be TLDR for some, but for me, it allows readers to feel as if they're listening to an actual promo or watching an actual match. That's just how I see it, and for me, I see you're doing an awesome job with this diary, even if I admit I'm not too familiar with most of the ladies of the C-Verse.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, I hope Joanna Silver, the Pirate of Men's Pants, gets a good push! Arrrrr, matey! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
