USPW are in total overdrive promoting Thanksgiving Thunder. The following have taken place, with 2 days left before the show.

– Chris Caulfield and Alicia Strong appeared on local television in New York City this morning to promote the show. The interview was very laid back and they talked about the show very positively. Caulfield made note that very limited tickets are available for the show. Alicia said she is more excited that she has ever been for her match.

– Rick Law did an interview in the New York Daily newspaper, he spoke about his decision to rejoin USPW being about his dream to work with Sam Strong again. He also mentioned that his contract with USPW run for another 5 years.

– Roger Cage did a phone in interview on local radio this afternoon, during the interview he said that he was unsure whether there were tickets still available for the show and spent the time to promote his Championship match against Atom Smasher and the fact the show is still available on pay-per-view.

I checked the USPW website and the tickets are indeed sold out. We'll have an exclusive interview with Guide on this website tomorrow, where he will talk about Thanksgiving Thunder and his move from TCW. That is the last scheduled media appearance before the pay-per-view, as far as I know, so make sure to check it out.

This Saturday United States Pro Wrestling presents Thanksgiving Thunder. Taking time out of his busy schedule, Guide sat down for an interview to promote the show – below is a transcription of the interview which is available in the audio section. The interview was conducted by Billy Michaels.

BM:

Okay, lets get straight into this I know your busy, so I'm going to start at the beginning of your USPW career. What were the factors in you moving on from TCW and joining USPW.

Guide:

Basically it was time to move on, I'd been with TCW for 6 years and it's a huge toll on the body and honestly I didn't feel it was getting me anywhere. Six years later I felt I was in the same midcard spot. Me and Scout had been chatting about ending the tag team, and we pitched that to the booking team and got a reaction that, we basically knew they were humouring us. Stuff how they'd think about it “but for now” you know you aren't getting anywhere. We kept pushing it but got nowhere, then my contract came up. They offered me a new deal, improved terms but I said I wanted a singles run – they said it'd be done in a non-committal way, but later that day I got a call from Alicia who had been told me that Sam wanted to meet me. I knew that USPW was doing big stuff, especially with new signings. They sent me a unofficial proposal similar to my terms in TCW, but a year longer. So I agreed to meet Strong at his home and we didn't even talk money just the creative direction and I loved it. They told me short term plans, long term plan – I knew I was facing Caulfield for the Championship before I'd even signed. I knew this was my chance, partly by forcing the hand but mostly by what I'd been told by Sam, to do what I'd always wanted and become a singles star. I signed the deal and I think that week my vignette started.

BM:

How did Scout feel about that, was there any awkwardness or ill feelings?

Guide:

Absolutely not, we're close and I've spoke to him a few times since and he knows it was best for both of us. I'm loving what I'm doing, so is he – he was still International Champion when I last spoke to him so he's hardly struggling. If I'd have stayed we'd have been in the team forever, and I know that if I didn't do this I'd always be thinking what if. So it had to be done...

BM:

Speaking of that I know that a lot of people have wrote in asking about this and saying you should have been pushed straight to the main event. A lot of people say you're in no better of a position now. And it does seem you're still in a midcard position. Do you feel that maybe you haven't progressed up the card as quickly as you could have?

Guide:

People have to let things play out, Billy. You and other people on the internet might know my potential but to a lot of people who just watch the show I'm either “that tag guy” or a complete no-name. I've sat pretty high up developing a character. You have to get that over before you go to the bigger things. The position I'm in now is ten times better than I was. Take this as an example – say I wrestle a ten minute match, if I'm a tag guy, I'm the 'hot-tag' guy so I'm in for what 2 minutes? I don't develop I just go through the motions. This way I'm wrestling 10 minutes every night. The spotlight is on me, and it's my responsibility to get over. It's all about being patient, I'm happy – I'm in a prominent role and I'm having good matches. I've been here 3 months. There's guys who haven't been given my opportunities in ten times that time. It's like anything, you can't go in and take someone's spot – I start again when I join USPW, I've got to earn it all over again.

BM:

Okay, you spoke about your matches, and you face Jumbo Jackson this Saturday. Are you happy with that match? What do you expect from that match?

Guide:

I expect a great match, Jumbo Jackson is a talented guy – just back, he's playing to the crowd now, so it's been my job to shut him down. It's not a marquee match but I feel we can go out and have a really good brawl, I know he's a great worker so I'm confident we can put on the 'sleeper' match of the night. Sounds cliché but I'll fight anyone, any time and like, legitimately I feel that I'm good enough to have a good match with anyone so I can go out first, last or in the middle and work a crowd. I'm so much more of a personality in USPW – I'm not just the efficient machine, I'm a spontaneous, free character and I don't have to work around other people, I can do what I want in there. If it works great, if it doesn't I only have myself to blame.

BM:

And Sam will retire at this Saturday's show. How do you feel that will effect the show, rating's wise and in growth appeal?

Guide:

He's a huge name and this is a huge time for us, in that it's sink or swim. He's the biggest name in wrestling and one of the most famous humans on the planet. For that reason alone it'd be delusional to suggest that Strong retiring won't have an effect. The answer is how we react, if we're putting on a show that is entertaining and doing the right thing, there is no reason to suggest that those people who may have originally been “Sam Strong fans” won't become USPW fans.

Look at the roster, Nicky Champion has a very real following and in a lot of way he is the corner stone of the company. Strong enables it but people are buying these pay-per-views for Nicky Champion and the other top guys. Nicky's the guy main eventing, so I think we can carry that momentum, particularly considering we have our most talented roster ever.

I've come in, Atom Smasher and Rick Law have been brought in – make no mistake we all had comfortable positions elsewhere but the project here and the direction is something we all want to be part of. I hope, and strongly believe the fans can see that too.

BM:

It's live this Saturday, from the Manhattan Nation Center and if you want to see the show of the year, as well as Sam Strong's last match, last night and last appearance on USPW programming then make sure you're there – especially if you want to see me retain my National Championship.

Anything could happen in this match, and almost everything did. With Caulfield bringing a trash can of weapons to the ring the match was hardcore from the get go. Caulfield then began hitting Rex with a Trash Can lid which he followed up with a Danger Drop (Reverse DDT) to Rex off the stage. This was yet another brawl based match and it followed a similar pattern with both men giving their best and seeing who truly could hit hardest. Throughout the match it appeared the biggest advantage was Enygma's speed, but by the end this had become his disadvantage. As the match wore on Enygma was more and more broken down and Baine began to take control. Sensing the match moving away from him Enygma used his remaining energy to mount a comeback. He came back and knocked Baine off his feet only to make a fatal error. Enygma went to the top rope but Baine pulled the rope before he could jump, which crotched him on the turnbuckle. Baine then grabbed him by the throat and turned out with a top rope Hades Bomb. After an entrance where Atom Smasher came out of a “nuclear chamber” which emitted a green "gas" the match got under way. Cage went toe to toe with Atom Smasher and didn't back down but was quickly overpowered by Atom Smasher who was fired up. After this, the match slowed down as Roger Cage tried a different approach to the match, “going back to the drawing board” each time Atom Smasher seemed to get the better of him. Cage eventually settled on a not completely successful hit and run style that allowed him to get some shots in on Smasher but stopped him gaining much momentum. Cage continued to fight back hoping that Smasher would tire but he didn't, instead growing into the match, taking clear control for the first time with a series of kicks and punches in the corner. Smasher eventually hit another Spinebuster and set up for the Lariat. Cage got up but as Smasher swung back for the Lariat his arm was grabbed. The camera moved back to show Charlie Thatcher holding his arm. Bruce lunged at Champion who ducked again and hit him with his Hawkeye Hammer finisher out of nowhere just 60 seconds into the match. Luckily for him he fell back and Peter Valentine tagged in. Feeding off the energy in the arena, Sam Strong walked over to the dazed Peter Valentine and threw him into the ring. He brought Valentine to his feet and hit him with a number of strikes, one right hook knocking him to the ground. Strong then took Valentine to the corner and brought Champion back in. Champion continued where Strong left off and stayed in control of Valentine. The next few minutes saw Champion remain in control, until he went up to the top ropes and hit a Superplex. Valentine and Champion then slowly crawled to their corners and Sam Strong and Bruce the Giant were brought in. Bruce threw a punch at Strong which Strong blocked and hit back, but as he did Bruce came back with a chop that dropped Strong to his knees. After a spell of being dominated Strong mounted a comeback. He fought back up from a sleeper hold and blocked subsequent punches from Bruce firing back at him and sending him back into the ropes. Bruce The Giant fell back and got his arms caught in the ropes and Strong took a few shots at him before the referee release him. Strong then raised his hand and pointed his elbow out, setting up for the Strong Arm Tactic, as Bruce got up Valentine put himself in the way of it to and was hit with Strong's chest to his face. This confusion allowed The Giant to get up, but as he went for Strong, Champion came in a clotheslined him to the ground. It's sad to see this dynasty end even though I knew that it was coming with Thanksgiving Thunder. I would like to thank you for writing this great dynasty and also for making me like USPW. I never liked USPW honestly until I read this dynasty and now not only do I like USPW but I have a pretty good save going with them as well. Once again it's sad to see this one end but just like flaviooooo said I can't wait to see what your next project will be.</p><p> </p><p>
