TNA 2006: Prime Time Impact!

IMPACT WEEK 4 OF FEBRUARY:

 

Impact opens up with Sting coming down to the ring, with lots of cheers from the fans. “The Icon” enters the ring and grabs the microphone. Sting says that he deserves a rematch at Destination X against Jeff Jarrett. The music of Christian Cage hits, and he comes to the ring. Christian said he did something Sting couldn’t do- pin Jeff Jarrett! Christian says he deserves the title shot. Both men agree to meet later tonight; winner will take on Jeff Jarrett at destination X!

-Good opening to the show, getting fans interested in a match that can go either way. Segment rating: B-

 

Match 1: Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal vs. Team Canada (Eric Young and Bobby Roode) vs. The James Gang

The winners of this match will be the number 1 contenders for the NWA World Tag Team Titles!

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal defeated Austin Aries & Roderick Strong, Team Canada and The James Gang in a Fatal Fourway Tag Team match in 11:34 when Jay Lethal defeated Eric Young by pinfall with a Lethal Combination.

-Great opening contest here, lots of exciting action from these 4 teams. The James Gang made sure the match went smoothly, and helped all the great young talent of TNA put on a great match! Match Rating: B-

 

Match 2: Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels

This match is for the TNA X-Division Title!

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Samoa Joe defeated Christopher Daniels in 14:44 by submission with a Coquina Clutch. Samoa Joe makes defense number 3 of his TNA X-Division title.

-Joe and Daniels had great chemistry in this match, showing the world just exactly what the X-Division can do. Great match here! Match Rating: B

 

America`s Most Wanted are in the back. They say they are not scared of Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal. James Storm tells them to get ready for the fight of their lives at Destination X!

-Building interest in the match here, America`s Most Wanted looked good here. Segment Rating: C+

 

Match 3: Aj Styles vs. Brock Lesnar

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Brock Lesnar defeated A.J. Styles in 12:33 by pinfall with a F-5.

-Brock Lesnar continues to dominate here in TNA, picking up a win against the very impressive Aj Styles. Match Rating: B-

 

Match 4: Sting vs. Christian Cage

The winner of this match will be the number 1 contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Title!

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Christian Cage drew with Sting in 20:16 following a double disqualification. Jeff Jarrett ran in and attacked Cage, while Brock Lesnar beat down Sting.

-Good exciting match for the crowd here, it was split even 50/50. The double DQ finish is to set up for the future PPV match! Match Rating: B-

-Rumors from many NJPW stars this past weekend are that the company is losing a lot of money, and that several roster cuts will be made to help cut the costs of running the company.</p><p> </p><p>

-The Rock has signed an exclusive deal with the WWE. Company insiders are excited to see his return, and how it will change the the road to Wrestlemania.</p><p> </p><p>

-The last episode of impact drew a rating of 1.62, up from last weeks episode, and giving the show its highest rating this year.</p>
