A board meeting was set to discuss the future of Capitol Sports Coorporation owned by VinceMcMahon Sr. and the family of William Gillenzberg. The Senior McMahon, who was getting up in years was being offered a buyout from Gillenzberg family, but his son Vince Junior had been pressuring DAD for ownership of Capitol Sports

"Dad, I want to take this national! Global! I want to take over the world, I want the biggest names and the biggest stars, bigger than life characters. It will be like wrestling meets a rock concert!" said Vince Junior

"Thats the problem son. Thats not how this business is run. We have the best practice in the business in our nice little corner of the Northeast. We have NYC, Philadelphia, Boston! We make alot of money here and we mind our business" responded Vince Sr.

"Thats the problem Dad, nobody wants to hurt anyones feelings, but who cares what Verne gagne thinks, who cares what Jim Crocket thinks or Bill Jim Barnett. I will take their biggest stars and take them into their towns and take their fans and trample over them. We can own this business" was Vince Jr.'s retort

"Alot of the boys, who Ive trusted for along time, like Bruno, Lou and Geno think this is a bad move. One that will either put us out of business or 6 feet under" replied Vince Sr.

"Dad, I will do this with you, but if you dont sell to me, I will do this without you. I have a couple of guys ready to make this run with me. You can either listen to those fossils Gorilla and Bruno or watch me take this to the next level Dad... What's it going to be... What's it going to be Dad?!" said Vince Jr.

"If you put it that way Vince, I cannot sell to you, I dont know what Im going to do, but I cant do this anymore, but I also cannot do business this way"

Fast Forward to Late 1983

An Article in PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED details the split of Capitol Sports Coorporation.. Some of the assets were being sold to the family of Gillenzberg Family and some of the assets were being sold to Vince McMahon Jr. The WWWF as we know it will cease to exist.. and the aftermath of this division of the Northeast Territory results in Vince McMahon Jr, starting his own company TITAN SPORTS which will promote professional wrestling under the moniker of WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT. His mission to take over the wrestling industry

The remainder of Capitol Sports will surge forward under Gillenzberg Family as WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION. Our mission is to continue to put on the best wrestling show you can find, while holding true to our roots in the Northeast portion of the United States. I am the lead voice representing the Gillenzberg family and the WWF as we go forward
