Brian Knobbs vs. Rick Martel

Comment: Because **** Nasty.

Jean-Paul Levesque vs. Erik Watts

Comment: No chance for young Erik here.

Brotherly Love

Brian Armstrong vs. Brad Armstrong

Comment: Brad's been on the losing end in angles, but he's the better wrestler so he can pull ahead a little bit in the feud here.

Paul Orndorff vs. Cactus Jack

Comment: Getting some momentum back after the title switch... kinda surprised to see you outright release Sullivan. Unless it's because he's got time decline, which he does in my game as well.

Chris Benoit vs. Alex Wright

Comment: Das Wunderbust.

Booker T vs. Arn Anderson

Comment: I know one thing, this should be a highly rated one.

WCW United States Title Match

Steve Austin defends vs. Ricky Steamboat

Comment: Austin and the US title just go hand-in-hand this time period.

Fun Fan Signs:

Slay the Dragon!

Date Me, Doll

Comments On Previous Show:

I'd be willing to bet that score-wise, that C in the semi-main hurt pretty bad. I can't say I saw Martel taking the fall coming though, and that win should have really jumped Benoit and Malenko up the ranks.

Hogan wins the title, which isn't a huge shock as he really should have here. No shenanigans is a nice thing though. Just, please; no career match at Havoc :p

JPL seems to be kind of a cross between Regal and Dibiase. That isn't a bad thing.

I liked the stuff about if Arn can be trusted or not, gives some more weight to the story.

Really curious as to how everything scored out so poorly though. It seems like everyone except the two main titleholders left their talents at home

Eddy Guerrero would only need one date, and the Latino Heat would have Kim swimming the gulf to get back to him again.

We are shown the outside of the Peoria Civic Center where a white limousine pulls up to the front. The driver gets out and walks around to the back, opening the door. Out comes the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion <strong>Ric Flair</strong>. Flair is dressed to the nines in a finely tailored suit with a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes. He looks toward the camera and releases a 'Whooooo' as he walks into the building without a second word or even a second glance at the camera.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 1</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36189" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/BrianKnobbs.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RickMartel.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/NickPatrick.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Brian Knobbs vs. Rick Martel</span></strong></p><p> We head inside for our very first match of the evening. Martel hits the ring and he is ready for Knobbs, who charges at him. He avoids the charge and works over Knobbs in the corner. This match barely lasts over a minute and is dominated by Martel. Martel catches Knobbs with a backbreaker and within moments he has locked in the Quebec Crab. JPL proved dominant against Watts, to no surprise but to boos from the fans, who dislike the attitude of JPL. Levesque catches Watts with a high knee during the bout and then a knee drop. The crowd boos as he bows to them for a moment with a sneer on his face. He picks up Watts and kicks him in the gut, depositing him between Levesque's legs -- Pedigree! Brian is more so the aggressor in this match, scoring a near fall following a DDT. It seemed like whatever Brian did, Brad had an answer for it, though. These two brothers know each other very well. The match in the ring is back and forth with both men getting in some high impact moves. Cactus sends both himself and Orndorff over the top rope with the Cactus Clothesline. Cactus goes for the flying elbow outside the ring but Paul Roma steps in the way, making Cactus pause. Roma helps Orndorff back into the ring and the match continues. A minute later, Cactus gets Orndorff set up for the Double Arm DDT but Roma climbs on the apron. Cactus releases Orndorff and approaches Roma. Referee Nick Patrick yells at Roma to get off the apron and the distraction allows Orndorff to sneak in behind Cactus and hit a low blow. Orndorff strikes Cactus with the Piledriver and then makes the cover: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Paul Orndorff p. Duggan staggers away but gets caught from behind by Vader and sent down to the floor. Vader tucks Duggan between his legs and slams him down with a Power Bomb on the floor! Duggan is completely out! The crowd was not as into this match as many may have liked but the action was solid in the ring. Wright definitely showed why he is undefeated so far here in WCW. He sends Chris Benoit through the ropes to the floor and then he bounces off the ropes, hitting a suicide dive onto Benoit on the outside of the ring! Wright stands and poses next to a sign that reads 'The Wright Stuff!' The action returns to the ring and Wright sets up Benoit for his German Suplex but Benoit blocks and slips a go-behind. Benoit takes Wright up and over with a German Suplex of his own but with no bridge, all impact! Wright is laid out and Benoit immediately heads to the top turnbuckle -- diving headbutt connects! Benoit swoops in and locks in the move now known as The Crippler Crossface. Anderson tries to keep this more of a mat game, keeping Booker T off his feet and focusing with an armbar and a hammerlock. Booker manages to get to his feet and catch Anderson with a solid punch, sending him outside the ring and then distracting referee Dick Woehrle. Stevie Ray comes around to interfere but he gets stopped by Dustin Rhodes! Rhodes takes a clothesline from Stevie Ray and Anderson makes it back in the ring. Booker sets up Anderson for an Axe Kick but Anderson avoids it! Anderson whips Booker to the ropes -- Spinebuster! Anderson drags his thumb across his throat, signaling the end. Stevie Ray climbs onto the apron but takes a hard left hand from Anderson. Anderson turns back to Booker -- DDT! Sting throws punches to Benoit and then to Malenko. The numbers game eventually catches up to Sting with Jesse Ventura joining in on the assault. Benoit and Malenko hold Sting's arms while Ventura slaps the taste out of Sting's mouth! Sting is taken down with a Gutbuster by Malenko and left laying in the center of the ring. Brian Pillman comes down early on in this match and takes a place at the broadcast booth, insulting Austin at every turn. The match is another technical classic between these two, much the same as their match at Bash At The Beach. The two men trade blows back and forth in the center of the ring with Steamboat ducking a punch and bringing Austin down with an armdrag. A dropkick comes next and Steamboat continues an early advantage. Steamboat scores a few near falls early on but the advantage turns outside the ring when Austin sends Steamboat into the ring post. Not a big surprise, given the modified figure 4 that Austin uses as his finisher right now. Austin takes down Steamboat with a Thesz Press and then throws punches on the Dragon, nearly getting disqualified in the process. Austin gets up and yells at the official for a moment before turning his attention back to The Dragon. He picks up Steamboat and sends him into a corner, following him in with a clothesline. He takes Steamboat down and rolls him up in the corner, sliding his feet on the ropes: One, Two, Thre -- NO! Tommy Young sees the feet on the ropes and stops the count. He yells at Austin and Austin yells back, shoving the referee. Tommy Young shoves Austin back and Steamboat rolls him up: One, Two, Kickout! Austin gets to his feet and grabs Steamboat, throwing him over the top rope. Steamboat holds on as Austin celebrates, pointing to a sign in the crowd that reads: 'Slay the Dragon!' Steamboat, however, was skinning the cat and lifted back over the top rope, coming from behind Austin.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong>Eric Bischoff:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Steamboat skinned the cat and now he is taking advantage. He cups his hand at the top of the ramp, listening to the cheers and chants of 'Hogan, Hogan, Hogan.' He high fives the fans on his way down to the ring, making a circle around the ring to get to as many fans as he can. He enters the ring and red and yellow balloons come down from the ceiling for the celebration. He begins posing in the ring and then has a microphone in hand. Heenan groans as the sounds of 'American Made' begin to play and out from the back comes the WCW World Heavyweight Champion The Immortal <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong>! The crowd here in Syracuse goes ballistic over the appearance of the Immortal one. He shakes hands with the crowd on his way down to the ring before climbing the stairs and stepping inside. He absorbs the chants of 'Hogan, Hogan, Hogan!' He cups his ear, making the chants louder before he raises the microphone to his lips.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Well, you know something, Hulkamaniacs, it is amazing to be right back here in Syracuse, New York, dudes! The former Rocker takes it to DDP early on in the match and scores an early near-fall following a superkick to the skull of Page. DDP goes outside to regroup and Jannetty dives right on top of him outside the ring! The crowd goes absolutely wild as Jannetty plays up to them and then brings the action back in the ring. Jannetty goes for a diving fist drop off the top turnbuckle but DDP moves at the last second and Jannetty punches the mat instead. DDP picks up Jannetty and drops him with a flapjack, giving the Bang! symbol afterward to a booing crowd and a happy Diamond Doll. Within moments, DDP lifts Jannetty and drops him to the mat with a Diamond Cutter. DDP makes the cover: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Diamond Dallas Page p. The steam can be heard coming off the pipes as the camera zooms in, finding <strong>Cactus Jack</strong> sitting against a wall. Condensation has built on the wall and is dripping down, giving an eerie feel to things. The camera picks up on the presence of another man in the area: <strong>Nick Bockwinkel</strong>. The WCW Commissioner looks to be in a heated discussion with Cactus.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Nick Bockwinkel:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"I am sorry, Cactus. The match scored some good back and forth action with Roma proving he can hang in the ring with a daredevil like Cactus Jack. A little outside interference by Paul Orndorff, who is at ringside for this match, keeps the advantage on the side of Roma. Roma makes a mistake when he goes for a missle dropkick as Cactus ducks out of the way. Jack comes right on the offensive almost immediately, showing how much punishment he can absorb. He sends Roma outside the ring and sets up on the apron. He points to a fan with a sign held up that reads: 'Lend Me Your Ear Jack!' Then he does the 'Bang, Bang!' taunt before running down the apron and leaping -- and getting caught by Paul Orndorff! He sets Jack down and whips him hard into the guardrail. Jack grunts from the pain his back is now in and Orndorff rushes in with a clothesline against the guardrail. He tosses Jack back in the ring and helps <strong>Paul Roma</strong> to his feet. The two men enter the ring and take down Jack with a double clothesline. Jack still tries to fight to his feet and Orndorff tucks him in between his legs. Roma climbs to the second turnbuckle -- Spiked Piledriver! He is shown bringing one man down with a rear naked choke. Another receives the heel hook submission. He gets his arms raised in victory and it is shown that he is coming soon to a WCW ring near you!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/Vader.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Dangerous Animal</span></span></strong></p><p> We go from one video to another video. They will each know that it is Vader time. I will be on WCW Saturday Night next week and if anyone wants to face me and get destroyed they need only step up to the plate. But they better be prepared to get a hospital bed beside The Guardian Angel and Jim Duggan. When you get in my face, you get sent to the hospital."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Vader growls at the camera and then returns to punching the locker. Rhodes worked on putting on a clinic at the outset of the match but the taller, stronger Stevie Ray was able to pull him into more of a brawl and that is definitely moreso in the wheelhouse of Stevie Ray. Ray brings Rhodes down with a scoop slam and then an elbow drop, making the cover: One, Two, Kickout! Ray locks Rhodes in a bear hug and the crowd gets behind 'The Natural.' Rhodes struggles in the hold but manages to break it with a few straight right hand punches. A double clothesline sends both men down to the mat. Booker T slides a chair in the ring and referee Dick Woehrle goes after the chair. Booker slides in as Dustin tries to get to his feet and he drops Rhodes with a Ghetto Blaster, aka a scissors kick. The beginning of the match sees Hogan in control, throwing punches and kicks against Mr. Wonderful. Orndorff takes control when he moves the match outside the ring, sending Hogan into the ring post and then into the guardrail. The crowd goes absolutely wild with anger. Orndorff brings Hogan back into the ring and gives him some straight right hands and then a gutwrench suplex. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why Orndorff is focusing on those areas of the body. Orndorff scores with a backbreaker that has Hogan crying out in pain but he refuses to submit. He shakes his head even as his body is filled with pain. Orndorff releases the backbreaker as the 'Hogan, Hogan, Hogan' chants fill the arena. Orndorff looks angrily out toward the crowd, yelling at the fans and then signaling that he's going to finish off Hogan with the Piledriver! On commentary, Flair says that this is great! Orndorff hooks Hogan for the Piledriver but he can't lift him up! Hogan refuses to be raised for the Piledriver and instead reverses it with a back body drop! Hogan drops to his knees and shakes his head. He's feeling it, folks! That adrenaline is running wild! Orndorff approaches Hogan with punches but Hogan shakes them off. Hogan gets to his feet and begins walking around the ring. He turns to Orndorff and does the finger point! He blocks an Orndorff punch and returns one of his own. Another! Another! He sends Orndorff to the ropes -- Big Boot! Hogan cups his ear and then bounces off the ropes -- Atomic Legdrop! Hogan makes the cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three, Kickout! Orndorff manages to kickout but not before the three count is made!<p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Hulk Hogan p. Bischoff complains about feeling a rumbling at the announce desk. It almost feels like an <strong>Avalanche</strong>. Out comes the large former Sumo wrestler walking right down toward the ring. Hogan's eyes go wide as saucers. Bischoff talks about how this man once broke the ribs of Hulk Hogan! Flair stays back by the announce desk as Avalanche enters the ring. Hogan comes over quickly, throwing punches and even a headbutt but it doesn't even phase the big man! A clothesline by Avalanche sends Hogan to the mat. Avalanche picks up Hogan in a scoop slam and drops him to the mat. He roars like an animal and begins literally jumping up and down around Hogan. He bounces off the ropes and off the ropes again, landing a perfect seated senton splash onto Hogan's chest! He bounces off the ropes and lands an elbow right to the heart of Hulk Hogan. A small amount of blood spills from the mouth of Hulk Hogan. Avalanche stands over top of Hogan and we're out of time! Ric Flair proclaims the death of Hulkamania tonight! We'll see you for the Main Event!</p>

WCW Saturday Night Prediction Listing</p><p> </p><p>

WCW World Television Title Match</p><p>

<strong>Lord Steven Regal</strong> defends vs. Scott Stud</p><p>

Comment: <em>Can anyone remind me who Scott Stud is?</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Nasty Boys</strong> vs. The Rock 'N' Roll Express</p><p>

Comment: <em>The Rock 'n' Roll Express might find Knobs and Sags more of a challenge than the Dirty Dicks. Nasties win via cheating.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Diamond Doll Challenge</p><p>

<strong>Diamond Dallas Page</strong> vs. Johnny B. Badd</p><p>

Comment: <em>DDP by shenanigans.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Paul Roma vs. <strong>Brian Pillman</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>Loose Cannon > Pseudo-Horseman.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Open Challenge Match</p><p>

<strong>Vader</strong> vs. ???</p><p>

Comment: <em>I am guessing this is Ken Shamrock's debut? I say he loses, but this could start a feud.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin) vs. <strong>Sting and Rick Martel</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>Aside from Sting on the opposing team, the mere presence of Michael P.S. Hayes makes me want to root against him. Didn't like him as Dok Hendrix, liked him even less in the early 2000s when I found out about his being a "negative influence" in the locker room.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Booker T</strong> vs. Ricky Steamboat</p><p>

Comment: <em>I would say the Dragon's gatekeeping as of 1994. Going with the younger man and future star.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Non Title Match</p><p>

Avalanche vs. <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong></p><p>

<em>Comment: For a moment I thought Avalanche was Fred Ottman (apart from his being the Shockmaster), so I had to jog my memory a bit and find out that was one of John Tenta's ring names. In any case, Hulk don't job to no Avalanche.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Fun Fan Signs: <em>"DIRTY DICKS GOT THE CLAP!" (accompanied by crude drawing of Messrs. Murdoch and Slater - I dunno if such a sign would be confiscated for its content! </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> )</em></p><p> </p><p>

Comments On Previous Show: <em>Orndorff vs Hogan brought back memories of the Hulkster and Mr. Wonderful feuding, back when I started watching pro wrestling. Actually surprised that got a "B", because IIRC, Orndorff was a jobber to the stars, more of a pure midcarder when he joined WCW. Great show!</em></p>

One of the reasons I chose Orndorff as Hogan's opponent. Orndorff is listed as an Upper Midcarder on my roster sheet right now. In real life, he and Roma were also the WCW World Tag Team Champions at this time as Pretty Wonderful.</p>

Comments On Previous Show: I'm not surprised that Mr. Wonderful brought the workrate, because in my game, even on the time decline list, he's still one of my most consistent guys. Of course, you're closing in on Fall Brawl now, aren't ya? I think I see the wheels a'turning if you're building Arn, Dustin, and The Dragon into a unit against the Heat, as being a way to lead up to a possible double sided cage. I'm also glad to see that your wars have paid off, and now you have seemingly all the people you were renting, along with a few others. I like seeing Tenta in your WCW; but I'll give ya slight warning just in case, in my game I probably would have signed him too, but he had an overdose and has been out of action for months.</p>

A sign is shown on the boiler room floor that had been confiscated earlier in the evening: 'DIRTY DICKS GOT THE CLAP!' It includes a picture that most would not want to see. The cameras move around the boiler to a darkened corner to find <strong>Cactus Jack</strong> sitting and rocking against the wall. Vader catches Guerrero with a lariat when he pulls him back up and then drops a hard elbow onto Latino Heat. He goes for the cover: One, Two, He pulls Guerrero up by the hair. Funk enters the ring with a chair in hand and swings it, cracking the jaw of Vader! Another chair shot! This one to the skull and Vader is staggered! Funk winds up to swing again but Vader throws a punch, denting the chair and keeping it from hitting it's target. The Freebirds have more tag team experience and that helps them during this match as they take control on Rick Martel. Frequent double teams are the name of the game but Martel continues to fight, kicking out of near falls again and again. Martel really shows some heart in this contest. Following a missed attempt at a DDT by Hayes, he makes the hot tag to Sting. Sting comes in throwing punches and body slams to both Freebirds. A fan raises a sign that reads: 'Being a Freebird is no excuse!' He sends Hayes to the corner, backing up into the opposite corner. He comes charging and leaps -- Stinger Splash! Hayes falls to the mat as Jimmy Garvin comes in to help. Martel cuts off Garvin and trips him up, hooking the Quebec Crab on the Freebird member. Back in the ring, Booker strikes Steamboat with knee lifts and a Russian legsweep that scores a two count. Booker throws Steamboat out of the ring and gets the attention of the referee, allowing Stevie Ray to interfere with kicks and a big boot. Ray tosses Steamboat back in the ring. Booker locks on a reverse chinlock and this leads to the second wind by Steamboat. Steamboat fights his way to his feet and sends Booker over with a back suplex. Both men are slow to move to their feet. Suddenly the music for Arn Anderson begins to play! Booker looks right down toward the ramp as Steamboat moves to the top turnbuckle. Hogan comes in the ring on fire with punches and kicks to Avalanche. Avalanche is a little surprised by this assault and gets knocked back in a corner. Hogan continues to throw punches, climbing the turnbuckle and landing ten straight right hands. He climbs down and then makes a motion like he is going to body slam Avalanche! The crowd boos, trying to get behind the force of Hulkamania. For several more minutes, Avalanche maintains control. He even sends Hogan outside the ring where Flair stomps on the ribs and chokes Hogan with the tape that was around his ribs. Flair sends Hogan back into the ring and things are looking bleak for him. Avalanche looks around and then begins jumping up and down all around the body of Hulk Hogan. He bounces off one set of ropes and then off another but is stopped short when Hogan seems to just sit up from out of nowhere. Hogan shakes his head and points toward Avalanche. He shakes his arms, absorbing in the cheers and the crowd as they get behind the power of Hulkamania! Avalanche moves in and begins throwing punches but Hogan no-sells them! Hogan throws punches back, sending Avalanche backward. He makes the body slam motion again but in comes Ric Flair! Flair strikes him from behind, causing the disqualification.<p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Hulk Hogan d. Hogan turns around slowly to look at Flair and points toward him but he gets smacked from behind in the ribs by <strong>Avalanche</strong>! Avalanche turns Hogan toward him and locks in a bear hug, squeezing the ribs tightly. He picks up Hogan and slams him to the mat, leaving Hogan crying out in pain and clutching his ribs. Flair smiles and moves in, grabbing the right leg of Hogan and motioning toward Avalanche. Flair holds the leg out and Avalanche bounces off the ropes -- splash onto the leg! Hogan cries out in pain! Flair tells Avalanche to do it again and Avalanche complies! Hogan is hurting and hurting badly! Flair pulls on the leg, dragging Hogan toward the ring post. Flair exits the ring and grabs Hogan's leg wrapping it around the ring post! That knee might be broken! Flair enters the ring with Avalanche and grabs the WCW World Heavyweight title belt. He raises it up to boos from the crowd. The show ends with Ric Flair standing tall and EMTs coming to check on the status of Hulk Hogan.</p>

It is definitely difficult to get rid of the Nasty Boys since Brian Knobbs is a good friend of Hulk Hogan. You don't want to do anything to get Hogan too mad at you, right?

Exactly. However, if a contract just runs out, then you don't have to worry about morale dings... :D

The biggest problem with Knobbs is, he seems to think he can do interviews unscripted. He can't. I have NEVER gotten a positive note from him doing an unscripted angle.
