WWE RAW
Monday, Week 4, October 2004

After the opening video, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to Monday Night RAW on Spike TV! Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler let us know that at Survivor Series, we will see a 4-on-4 elimination match between Evolution and Team Flair! The members of the teams have yet to be announced.

RATING:
77 (B)

Notes
: None.

As it does so often, “Line in the Sand” hits to open the show.
Evolution
makes their way to the ring, Orton and Batista flanking “The Game.” Hunter grabs a microphone and begins to gloat about his and Batista’s victory over Ric Flair and Chris Benoit at Taboo Tuesday, while sideswiping Randy Orton for not capturing the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton’s facial expression changes as HHH talks about how ‘some rise above obstacles, and others crumble at their feet.’ As Triple H turns his topic toward Flair and Benoit,
The Nature Boy‘s
music hits and he and
Benoit
come to the top of the ramp.

Ric acknowledges that Hunter and Dave laid a beatdown on them last Tuesday night inside that steel cage, but Flair says he’s still got some payback to deliver. He announces the first member of his Survivor Series team – Chris Benoit! Flair says that in three weeks at Survivor Series, his team (Team Style and Profile) is gonna lay a whoopin’ on Evolution and finally knock Hunter down a few pegs! WOO!

RATING:
98 (A*)

Notes
: Benoit being part of a team named Style and Profile makes me chuckle.

Chris Benoit
vs.
Damien Warlock w/William Regal

Despite an inspired and borderline dominant performance by the inexperienced aristocrat, Benoit caught him napping and locked in the Crippler Crossface for a submission victory.

RATING:
81 (B)

Notes
: Benoit did a nice job of helping Warlock shine here.

Backstage, a limousine pulls up. Out steps the leg of the daughter of the chairman,
Stephanie McMahon
! Her husband,
Triple H
greets her as she speaks with him inaudibly for a moment.

Notes

Elsewhere backstage, the World Tag Team Champions,
Rob Van Dam
and
Shelton Benjamin
cut a promo about their victory at Taboo Tuesday. The two pretty much finish each other’s sentences throughout the segment as they talk about how excited they are to team together and be champions. Shelton says he’s modeled his style after watching RVD in ECW and WWE, and Van Dam touts Benjamin as the biggest up and coming star on RAW! Before they leave, however, they’re assaulted by the former champions
La Resistance!
A beatdown ensues throughout the area and the ex-champions take their frustrations out on the new ones, leaving them down and out.

The Golden Globes w/Stacy Keibler
vs.
Johnny Stamboli and Sean O’Haire

Try as they might, Goldust and Venis were simply overpowered here. Stamboli looked like a completely new competitor as he tagged in and out with O’Haire, who finished Goldust with
.

After the match, Stamboli and O’Haire grab a microphone and state their intentions. They are
The Widow Makers
, and they’re both sick and tired of being underappreciated here in WWE. Stamboli says he’s not a guinea-tee and top hat-wearing Mafioso, he’s just Johnny The Bull, and he’s gonna kick some ass. O’Haire says he’s been underutilized for a long time, and it took a beatdown of a little fairy hairdresser to finally get himself noticed again after his (real life) motorcycle accident. He and Johnny The Bull knew that Eric Bischoff appreciated their talents, and so they made an impact on RAW, which isn’t gonna stop tonight.

RATING:
51 (D+) / 54 (C-)

Notes
: None.

Exclusive footage from Taboo Tuesday is shown as a dejected
Chris Jericho
talks about losing his Intercontinental Title. He clearly isn’t happy, but reassures his Jerichoholics that he’s gonna get right back on his horse and that there’s bigger and better things coming soon for Y2J.

RATING:
68 (C+)

Stacy Keibler
vs.
Trish Stratus

While the crowd gave a nice reaction to Stacy as they always do, Trish wasn’t playing any games. A Chick Kick ended the leggy diva’s night prematurely.

Post-match, Trish picks up a mic and talks about how she’s done sitting in the background while these wannabe divas think they run the place. Christian’s Mr. Money in the Bank and Tyson Rude is the best new superstar in the WWE, and now it’s Trish’s turn. She wants the Women’s Title, and she calls out Lita for a match at Survivor Series!

RATING:
56 (C-) / 71 (B-)

Notes
: Trish/Lita sounds fun.

A quick graphic reminds us of our main event –
”The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels
takes on the new Intercontinental Champion
Johnny Nitro!

After a commercial break, a vignette welcomes us back. Shots of sculptures are juxtaposed with a man posing with a red curtain-like background behind him. The muscular man appears as if he, as well, is chiseled out of marble. This short segment ends with the simple phrase: “The Masterpiece is coming to RAW!”

RATING:
77 (B) / 42 (D)

Notes
: None.

Jeff Hardy
vs.
Lance Cade w/Trevor Murdoch

The cowboy tried to thwart Hardy’s high-flying offense by working over his legs, but Jeff proved that his experience trumps Cade’s and ended up winning with a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb!

RATING:
71 (B-)

Notes
: Like Benoit earlier, Jeff made Cade look pretty damn good in this one.

____________________________________________

In the back,
Stephanie McMahon
and
Triple H
are talking. Stephanie feels as if she wants to be around more, because she sometimes doesn’t support her husband as much as she should. Hunter standoffishly accepts her well wishes, feeling awkward. All of a sudden there’s a knock at the door, and it’s
Chris Jericho
of all people!

Jericho and HHH have a bit of banter (“Hey Chris, you look a little lighter around the waist” … “Well Hunter, whatever poundage I’ve lost seems to have showed up in Stephanie’s cleavage”), and then Hunter asks him what the hell he wants. Jericho said he wanted to be the one to tell Triple H personally that he’ll see him at Survivor Series because
Y2J
is taking his talents to Team Style and Profile, babaaayyy!

RATING:
86 (B+)

Notes
: Jericho jokes about Stephanie never get old, right? Right?!

A video recaps the Taboo Tuesday matchup between
the Dudley Boyz
and the team of
Christian and Kane
, where “The Big Red Machine” laid out “Captain Charisma” with a Chokeslam for hitting him with the Money in the Bank briefcase!

http://i.imgur.com/cI2DTWN.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/g6zxWdm.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sv4Vqlt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/9bHsEeH.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/7mSqWl3.jpg

The Dudley Boyz
vs.
Christian and Tyson Rude w/Trish Stratus

This match was hot from start to finish, and both sides really worked the crowd well. Despite an initial flurry by the Dudleyz, Christian and Rude controlled the match by isolating D-Von. After a hot tag to Bubba Ray, chaos ensued. Out of nowhere, Bubba was blasted with the briefcase by Christian from the outside, and he stumbled back into a Northern Lariat for a pinfall by Tyson Rude!

After the match, Christian and Rude stomp on Bubba Ray until D-Von runs in the ring and the two retreat along with their manager, laughing and taunting all the way to the back!

RATING:
93 (A) / 82 (B)

Notes
: What a great match! Captain Charisma is hot as ever right now, and Tyson is sure to benefit.

Shawn Michaels
takes on
Johnny Nitro
– that match is next!

http://i.imgur.com/LEKpexq.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sv4Vqlt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/BMY1ohP.jpg

Shawn Michaels
vs.
Johnny Nitro w/Melina

Our main event was a proving ground for “The Hollywood Hotshot,” and he threw everything in his arsenal at the World Heavyweight Champion. Michaels looked the worse for wear after a bit, but was able to mount a rally. However, before he could deliver a finishing blow, Kane hit the ring and began an assault on “The Heartbreak Kid,” prompting a disqualification!

Kane’s ensuing assault was more of an annihilation. Of all the beatdowns that Kane has laid on other superstars throughout the year thus far, this was the most painful-looking. He hit Shawn with not one, but two Chokeslams on the steel steps, leaving Shawn writhing on the ground in immense pain. Kane begins to laugh as he grabs the World Heavyweight Championship, holding it high above a severely injured Shawn Michaels!

RATING:
77 (B) / 77 (B) / 92 (A)

Notes
: Man, Michaels can sell. It really looked like he aggravated that back injury here, although he’s perfectly fine.

WWE Television Championship

Rey Mysterio vs. Matt Hardy ©

Comment: Dupree costs Rey, and maybe recruits the lucky TV Champ?

Ultimo Dragon w/Jimmy Yang vs. Mark Henry w/Theodore Long

Comment: Can't see this being an upset

Funaki vs. Muhammad Hassan w/Daivari

Comment: Or this, unless of course Rey Mysterio causes both Dragon and Funaki to win so he can have them on 'Team Cruiserweight'!!!

Booker T vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield w/Sable

Comment: Should be a good match!

Edge and Eddie Guerrero vs. Lords of the Ring

Comment: Only because I don't think you'd want to hurt Edge and Eddie's popularity with a loss... for storyline purposes, it would make sense... so maybe Edge and Eddie win, but the Lords and the rest of Heyman's group attack them post-match?

Comments on Previous Show: Some great matches on RAW there man. O'Haire and Johnny Stamboli shouldn't have surprised me, but it did a little! Looking forward to seeing their rise. I wanna know who is going to fill up the SS teams, but I think I can see HBK join Flair, and Kane join Evolution, making that a HUGE line-up!!!! Unless they have a singles match, which will also be awesome!

Booker T vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield w/Sable

Comment: Booker is just the kind of guy you need JBL going over to get him to the next level.

Edge and Eddie Guerrero vs. Lords of the Ring

Comment: Just way too much more star power than the former Tag champs.

Comments on Previous Show: Jericho, Benoit, and Flair on a team is the goddamn awesome. Did like the Jericho jokes on Stephanie, and while I'm not sure where you're going with Stephanie, I'm intrigued to find out what's going on.

WWE SmackDown!
Thursday, Week 4, October 2004

The opening video, backed by "Rise Up" performed by Drowning Pool plays as Michael Cole and Tazz greet us from ringside. Tonight, shaky allies
Edge and Eddie Guerrero
take on the talented team of technicians,
the Lords of the Ring
! Can they coexist?

RATING:

Rey Mysterio w/Billy Kidman
vs.
Matt Hardy ©

A hotly contested championship contest to open the show was interrupted by "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree! He slid under the bottom rope and assaulted Mysterio, prompting a disqualification!

After the match, Billy Kidman breaks up a beatdown on his tag team partner by the two assailants. Dupree raises Hardy's arm holding the Television Championship - he's a member of Team Dupree!

RATING:
78 (B) / 58 (C-)

Notes
: Kidman's on Rey's team, too.

____________________________________________

There's a knock at the door of
Paul Heyman's
office. Annoyed, Heyman has his bodyguard open it. Luther Reigns ushers in ...
Jamie Noble and Nunzio
. Heyman has no clue why the pair are here - but it's only to pledge their allegiance to Paul's cause for Survivor Series! Heyman raises an eyebrow since this would put his team at six, but then makes a proposal - Since he's SmackDown's GM and has nearly limitless control over the show, Jamie Noble and Nunzio will be in action next against an unnamed opponent in a Handicap Match. Whoever wins will have the honor of representing Team Heyman at Survivor Series!

RATING:
68 (C+)

Notes
: But who will they be fighting...?

Winner(s) join(s) Team Heyman

Jamie Noble and Nunzio
vs.
Kurt Angle

Noble and Nunzio were delighted to find out that their opponent was a single man - what they were more worried about, however, was that it was the former WWE Champion Kurt Angle! "The Olympic Hero" caught the tag team reeling and was able to defeat both men - an Ankle Lock forced Nunzio to tap out! Kurt is a member of Team Heyman!

RATING:
73 (B-)

Notes

In the back,
Brock Lesnar
is walking down the halls and he turns the corner to see none other than
Rhyno
in street clothes! Lesnar is enraged and acts aggressively toward "The Man Beast," who informs him that he's just got a backstage VIP pass. Paid and official. "So get the hell out of my face," Rhyno says with a s****** as he walks away, leaving Brock fuming.

Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson
are tending to

in the back as he continues to recover from the assault earlier tonight. After a knock,
Jimmy Yang and Ultimo Dragon
enter the room. Yang speaks on behalf of his partner, and the two of them would like to enter their hats in the ring for Survivor Series on Team Cruiserweight! Mysterio and Kidman like the idea as they quickly accept the proposed partnership!

RATING:
56 (C-)

Notes
: Currently: Mysterio, Kidman, Yang, Dragon vs. Dupree and Hardy

Ultimo Dragon w/Jimmy Yang
vs.
Mark Henry w/Theodore Long

Another match, more interference. Jimmy Yang was assaulted by Rene Dupree and Matt Hardy along the outside, but Rey and Kidman joined the fray! As the fight spilled around the ring, Mark Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam and picked up a win!

The fight continued after the match with Henry getting involved, but Dragon, Yang, Rey, and Kidman kept fighting back. Eventually, out of nowhere, Rey turned around into a knockout punch - from
Mark Jindrak
! "The Reflection of Perfection" shook hands with Rene Dupree as they beat down the other members of the cruiserweight team!

Funaki
vs.
Muhammad Hassan w/Daivari

This one was over before it started. Funaki ran into a buzzsaw here as Hassan quickly finished it with a Reverse STO and the Camel Clutch.

Muhammad picks up a microphone after the match to once again call out Bryan Lloyd. He says that Lloyd surprise attacked him last week with a pre-emptive strike which seems to be symbolic of American policy in the Middle East. Hassan tells Lloyd that he is not a bad man, he has an issue with those who believe that he is. Bryan Lloyd has proven to be no exception to his experience with the American people: violence first, dominance second, peace never. However, no American will ever dominate Muhammad Hassan, and so there will be blowback for Lloyd's actions last week.

RATING:
38 (D-) / 57 (C-)

Notes
: Still some work to do with Hassan, but he's doing fine in his rivalry.

Backstage,
Eddie Guerrero
finds
Edge
warming up in the locker room. Eddie says he's glad to have him on his side this week because last week he gave him a hell of a run for that WWE Title. Edge isn't very friendly however; he tells Guerrero that yes, tonight and at Survivor Series Paul Heyman is the enemy, but as soon as they put this issue to rest, Edge is coming like a rabid dog for
his
WWE Title.

RATING:
79 (B)

Notes
: Oh no he di'int!

Booker T
vs.
John "Bradshaw" Layfield w/The Cabinet

The Cabinet wreaked all kinds of havoc from the outside for the five-time WCW Champion. No matter how hard Booker tried, he wasn't able to wriggle away from distractions and interference at every turn - but the referee threw the Chosen Ones away from ringside! JBL was disoriented after this and was rolled up by Booker T!

With the former United States Champion and the Chosen Ones all putting the boots to Booker T after the match, it was
John Cena, Ron Simmons, and Londrick
who hit the ring to break it up! Cena delivers an F-U to Elijah Burke as the rest of the group scurry back up the ramp! The four men tend to Booker T as Cena flashes a "You Can't See Me" back toward JBL and his group.

RATING:
76 (B-) / 83 (B+)

Notes
: Cena, Simmons, London, Kendrick vs. The Cabinet.

____________________________________________

There's a semi-heated argument taking place in the back between
Paul Heyman
and
Brock Lesnar
, with
Luther Reigns
standing mediator in between them. It's simple - Brock is sick of being unable to get his hands on Rhyno, whom Heyman refuses to offer a contract to. Lesnar wants Rhyno on the Survivor Series team for Eddie Guerrero so he knows where he is at all times and doesn't have to expect a run-in from "The Man Beast." Heyman finally acquiesces and says that Rhyno can have a spot on the roster for Survivor Series under one condition...he has to beat Luther Reigns in a one-on-one contest right here next week!

RATING:
88 (B+)

Notes
: None.

____________________________________________

The announcers hype the main event as a recap is shown of
Lords of the Ring
destroying Hardcore Holly last week. Tazz talks about how dangerous the two men are and that Eddie and Edge should watch out here tonight.

http://i.imgur.com/5mCsTSL.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/YqUuruU.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sv4Vqlt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/gBgl89u.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/w3hYP6p.jpg

Eddie Guerrero and Edge
vs.
Lords of the Ring

It's terrible when an excellent match is ruined by (even more) interference, but that's exactly what happened here. These four mat technicians went back and forth with neither side gaining a clear advantage because Edge and Guerrero couldn't stay completely on the same page. As they began to gain momentum, Paul Heyman sent his forces down to the ring to enact a beatdown on the two men, prompting a disqualification!

Luther Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and Kurt Angle take turns hitting high impact moves on Edge and Guerrero until
Bryan Lloyd
hits the ring out of nowhere! He's like a house of fire, throwing kicks and punches wildly around the ring until he's finally subdued with a running boot from Reigns! The beatdown commences on him too until "The Man Beast"
Rhyno
hops over the guard rail and gets involved! Gore to Lance Storm! Gore to Haas! Angle, Lesnar, and Reigns retreat as Rhyno pumps up the crowd along with the banged-up Eddie Guerrero, Edge, and Bryan Lloyd!

RATING:
66 (C+) / 84 (B+) / 85 (B+)

Notes
: Pretty good main event, and it's good to see Reigns/Rhyno/Lloyd in highly rated angles.

____________________________________________

OVERALL SHOW RATING:
84 (B+)

Notes
: Another solid show on the road to Survivor Series, nothing really to complain about here other than perhaps monotonous interferences.

WWE RAW
Monday, Week 1, November 2004

Our main event tonight pits four of the top superstars in the WWE as Randy Orton and Batista of Evolution take on "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit and "Y2J" Chris Jericho! Which team can gain some momentum heading into their pending Survivor Series matchup?

We'll hear from Christian about his plans for Survivor Series in 13 days as well as Evolution, who will announce the final member of their team at the historic event. Two of our newest and most talented divas will be in action too! Also, Shawn Michaels will be Chris Jericho's guest on the Highlight Reel if he has recovered from the brutal assault by Kane last week!

Don't miss all the action; tune in to Spike TV at 9pm EST/6pm PST!

Comments on Previous Show: So, quick question, are some of the Survivor Series Matches 4 on 4 and some 5 on 5? Team Heyman is 5 so far... whereas Eddie's team is three plus TBD... Then the CW vs Renee Dupree match is 4 on 4 with no TBD... Then Team Cena vs The Cabinet is also 4 on 4 with no TBD... so yeh... lol! :D

Anyway, looking forward to the show! Should be epic!!!
