Comments on Previous Show: Why can't Matt Hardy get a clean win over Rey Mysterio? :( Other than that, a pretty good show.

Dupree still on the Main Event after all the losses to Booker T? That's why he's amazing

Other than that, great month.

I've been keeping him strong, no worries :) the King of the Ring isn't gonna be buried too badly, don't you worry.

Awesome thing about my boy Shannon Moore is that he's an opener and on the lower midcard. :p

I uh...was just making sure people were reading....:p

WWE Monday Night RAW: Week 1, November 2004

WWE RAW
Monday, Week 1, November 2004

"Good Ol' JR" welcomes us to the show as we inch ever closer to the classic WWE pay-per-view Survivor Series! Tonight, members of opposing teams will take on one another in our main event as
Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho
of Team Style and Profile take on Evolution's "future,"
Batista and Randy Orton
! Prior to this, "Y2J" hosts a Highlight Reel segment with the World Heavyweight Champion, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels who was badly injured at the hands of Kane last week!

RATING:
75 (B-)

Notes
: None.

Considering it's 9:00 PM Eastern, "Line in the Sand" hits and
Evolution
is yet again out to speak to the audience as Triple H grabs a microphone in the middle of the ring. He proclaims the dominance of Evolution and says that they are going to crush Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and whoever their 4th partner might be - just as they have crushed everyone in their path since they came together a year ago. When searching the RAW roster for a man who fits exactly what Evolution stands for - dominance, pride, and doing whatever it takes to win - there was only one man who fit the bill. Hunter introduces the fourth and final member of Team Evolution...

Johnny Nitro!

The Intercontinental Champion makes his way out to the ring alongside
Melina
. He gets in the ring and thanks Triple H for the opportunity, saying that he's already got a big match pay-per-view victory over Chris Jericho and that he picked the right man for the job. Triple H concludes by saying that in thirteen days, Team Evolution is going to pound Ric Flair's team into the dust of the past.

RATING:
96 (A*)

Notes

Test w/Billy Gunn
vs.
Tyson Rude w/Trish Stratus

Test gave a good effort, but the veteran just didn't have enough to outlast "The Problem Solver." After ducking a big boot, Rude came off the ropes with the Northern Lariat for a nice victory.

RATING:
78 (B)

Notes
: Nice rating, Tyson is improving steadily and this one helped.

A graphic reminds us that
Shawn Michaels
will be on the Highlight Reel later tonight!

In the back,
Stephanie McMahon
is in the locker room with
Triple H
and they're talking. Hunter tells Stephanie (in a placating manner) that he thought about it and he's glad she's gonna be around more. This interaction ends with Triple H somehow agreeing to allow Stephanie to accompany him to the ring tonight for his match against Jeff Hardy!

RATING:
80 (B) / 78 (B)

Notes
:
(OOC Note: Keep in mind that Linda and Vince divorced in my game a few months back)

____________________________________________

Elsewhere backstage,
The Hurricane and Rosey
are walking and they bump into
The Aristocracy
. After a "wassup wit dat?!" from Hurricane, Regal and Warlock look baffled. Warlock enunciates his (rather large and condescending) words slowly and clearly, since the Hurricane clearly can't speak proper English. Regal adds that the superheroes should fly out of here before there's some real trouble. Hurricane and Rosey take that as a challenge - and we've got a tag team match set for later tonight!

RATING:
75 (B-)

Notes
: None.

Mickie James
vs.
Melina

Two athletic divas faced off here, with Lita's protege Mickie James picking up the win after a Tornado DDT!

After the bell rings,
Trish Stratus
comes up from out of nowhere and blasts Mickie with a hard forearm to the face! Trish grabs a mic and reiterates her desire from last week to face Lita for the Women's Championship! Lita, who hasn't been seen since her brutal victory over Victoria in a Last Woman Standing match at Taboo Tuesday, has yet to respond to Trish's challenge. Therefore, Trish says, she's going to send a message to Lita - and hits the Stratusfaction on Mickie James!

RATING:
57 (C-) / 76 (B-)

Notes
: None.

Evolution
is backstage talking about the near future. "The Game" is getting his troops ready as he hypes up Orton and Batista for their match tonight against Benoit and Jericho. The three guys seem to generally agree on Johnny Nitro's involvement in their Survivor Series team, although Orton is the least agreeable about it. Hunter's got his match next!

RATING:
76 (B-)

Notes
: None.

Jeff Hardy
vs.
Triple H w/Stephanie McMahon

The former World Heavyweight Champion seemed mildly distracted with his wife at ringside. Hardy was able to take advantage throughout the match and eventually delivered a Whisper in the Wind! Stephanie eventually got up on the apron as Triple H told her to get down. Jeff seized his opportunity and tried to roll up "The Game," but Hunter was
barely
able to kick out in time, finishing him shortly afterward with the Pedigree.

Rather than celebrate, Triple H and Stephanie bickered up the ramp as Hunter walked a few steps ahead of her, leaving his wife dejected behind him after almost costing him the victory.

RATING:
85 (B+) / 74 (B-)

Notes
: None.

Todd Grisham interviews
Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin
, who cut a quick promo saying that they'll take on all comers for Survivor Series. La Resistance can get their shot, they could've just asked rather than attacking them last week. Their confidence is sky high as the two guys share a high five before walking off the screen as we head to commercial.

RATING:
76 (B-)

Notes
: None.

____________________________________________

Next up, it's time for the Highlight Reel!
Chris Jericho
introduces the man who currently carries the World Heavyweight Championship as his guest,
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels!
HBK comes down to the ring clearly banged up from Kane's beatdown last week. He's limping and has a couple of bandages on his head, but he's here!

Jericho asks Michaels if he has anything to say to Kane after the attack last week, to which Shawn responds with a short "no." Shawn says he has nothing to say to him because Kane already knows that he'll never finish "The Heartbreak Kid." Shawn says he's in a hell of a lot of pain right now and that Kane did a number on him, but there's no one better in the WWE at coming back from adversity than H..B..K. In the middle of Michaels' speech, fire explodes from the ramp and
Kane
is here to crash the party once again!

The tension builds as the deranged monster gets on the apron and is attacked by both Jericho and Michaels! Kane gets in the ring and throws Jericho away before going to attack Shawn again. Y2J runs back at "The Big Red Machine" and receives a big boot for his efforts! Kane grabs Michaels' face and tosses him into the "obscenely expensive Jeritron 5000" before hitting him with another Chokeslam - this time through a table set up in the ring! Kane once again stands laughing over Michaels as medical officials tend to the World Heavyweight Champion!

RATING:
100 (A*)

Notes
: Wow. Nice segment.

The Hurricane and Rosey
vs.
The Aristocracy

Set up earlier tonight, this match was a decent one. Rosey found himself on the losing end here after Warlock hit a Russian Legsweep and tagged in Regal for the Regal Stretch!

With Regal's evil music playing, he picks up a microphone and extends a challenge to the World Tag Team Champions - gold belongs to the upper class and therefore The Aristocracy should be the ones to hold the Tag Team Titles!

RATING:
64 © / 72 (B-)

Notes
: None.

____________________________________________

Backstage,
Christian
has some words for both Shawn Michaels and Kane. He calls them morons for different reasons - first, Shawn gets put in the hospital week after week not realizing that after any given concussion, "Captain Charisma" could just stroll out to that ring and win the championship. Kane is a big red idiot for a) allowing Michaels to be put in these positions and b) keeping blinders on his eyes like a horse because Christian will have no problem taking Kane out too! And you can bank on that!

Before our commercial break, we're reminded that Kane takes on Rob Van Dam next!

RATING:
76 (B-) / 77 (B)

Notes
: Biding his time, it seems.

Rob Van Dam w/Shelton Benjamin
vs.
Kane

These two former tag team partners faced off as Kane looked to prove yet another point to Shawn Michaels. Van Dam, however, knew Kane pretty well and was able to thwart some of his powerful offense with kicks and evasive tactics. Neither man could finish off the other as Shawn Michaels came sprinting down the ramp to attack Kane, causing a disqualification!

The crowd goes wild as the World Heavyweight Champion lays a long-awaited beatdown on his rival! Kane covers up as Michaels throws furious punches to the head of "The Big Red Machine!" Shawn goes outside to get a chair, but referees and officials jump in his way, disallowing him to hit Kane! Michaels charges right through them and lands a hard chair shot to Kane's back! This prompts the officials to move in on Michaels, secure the chair, and hold him to the ground! Before Kane can attack, they drag Michaels out of the ring and bring him to the backstage area!

RATING:
81 (B) / 85 (B+)

Notes
: Michaels boosts every single segment he's in, he's at possibly his hottest since he returned from injury a couple of years back.

____________________________________________

La Resistance
is in the back complaining about how they haven't gotten a rematch after losing the World Tag Team Titles. They challenge Van Dam and Benjamin because they want their titles back!

RATING:
72 (B-)

Notes
: Uh oh. Crowded title picture.

____________________________________________

A graphic and commentary remind us that our huge tag team main event is next!

Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho w/Ric Flair
vs.
Evolution w/Triple H

Fierce rivals squared off here, and it was clear from the start that there was no love lost between the teams. Evolution used their teamwork to corner Jericho for a great deal of the match, and the crowd exploded when Benoit got the hot tag (including "The Nature Boy" on the outside, who was now dancing and strutting) and started a rally for his side! After a Spinebuster from Batista ended that as quickly as it began, Evolution looked to set up their opponents for a loss. Out of nowhere, Chris Jericho rolled up Batista and put his feet on the ropes for a shocking win!

Evolution is
livid
at this loss and they immediately begin an assault on their opponents. Flair gets in the ring and fends them off for a bit, before Johnny Nitro runs down from the back and starts to fight with "The Nature Boy!" The numbers soon overwhelm Benoit, Jericho, and Flair until their final team member's music hits....

IF YA SMEEEELLLL....WHAT
THE ROCK
....IS COOKIN'!

Out of nowhere, "The Great One" hits the ring! The Rock lays rights and lefts on the faces of Nitro, Orton, and Batista, as Triple H slides under the bottom rope! Rock Bottom to Orton, and he's going for the People's Elbow! However, "The Animal" pulls Randy out under the bottom rope as the crowd goes wild for the return of The Rock! Benoit, Jericho, and Flair regroup with their Survivor Series partner in the middle of the ring, staring down Evolution!

RATING:
78 (B) / 93 (A) / 94 (A)

Notes
: Heeeee's baaaaaack!

OVERALL SHOW RATING:
93 (A)

Notes
: This show blew our recent efforts out of the water, a lot of people tuned in to that final segment thanks to The Rock.

Comment: I think The Chosen Ones are a great trio. Love what you've done with them! JBL's cabinet in real life were all meh, but I've always been a fan of MVP and Burke, and since Jordan is part of their group, he looks stronger here than he did in real life!

WWE Television Championship

Comment: It's Brock Frickin' Lesnar... His opponent will be Bryan Lloyd I think, which means Brock will win..

Comments on Previous Show: and HOLY F'ING F... THE ROCK!!!!! :D Nice job man! Is he now in Team Style and Profile for Survivor Series?!? I said it would be a huge match if HBK and Kane joined, but now they have a Title Match, and even without them, it just got a whole lot bigger!

Six-Man Tag Match

Ron Simmons and Londrick vs. The Chosen Ones

Comment: I figure we're heading into a big JBL vs Simmons match, so he wins here to pick up some steam.

WWE Television Championship

Chavo Guerrero vs. Matt Hardy ©

Comment: Should be a good match, but Mattitude retains.

The Colons (Carlito and Eddie) vs. Lords of the Ring

Comment: LotR pick up a good win before survivor series.

If Rhyno wins, he gets a contract

Rhyno vs. Luther Reigns w/Paul Heyman

Comment: Hear me out here... I think Rhyno plays mind games with Lesnar here, by throwing the match by countout when he's already got it won. Then revealing that he's had a contract all along anyways.

WWE United States Championship

John Cena © vs. Rene Dupree

Comment: You could transition the belt off of Cena here, and move him on to bigger things.

Open Challenge

Member of Team Eddie vs. Brock Lesnar

Comment: I'm going with Brian Lloyd here too. His involvement just makes good sense.

Comments on Previous Show: Great job getting that A rating, Shawn really is your best workhorse right now.

WWE SmackDown: Week 1, November 2004

WWE SmackDown!
Thursday, Week 1, November 2004

The opening video, backed by "Rise Up" performed by Drowning Pool plays as Michael Cole and Tazz greet us from ringside. We're ten days from Survivor Series and tonight, the stakes couldn't be higher - two titles are on the line, Eddie Guerrero has promised to reveal more of his Survivor Series team, and Rhyno's future is on the line against Luther Reigns! We're gonna kick tonight off with some six-man tag action!

RATING:
73 (B-)

Notes

Ron Simmons and Londrick
vs.
The Chosen Ones

Six men that would see each other at Survivor Series squared off in our opening bout. Despite Simmons' contract being owned by JBL, he was able to team with Londrick against The Chosen Ones (Bradshaw says this is because he's a 'generous employer'), but it didn't matter all that much. Nefarious tactics and three dangerous athletes on the same page signaled the end, and Elijah Burke caught Brian Kendrick with what he calls "
" to finish this one.

RATING:
58 (C-)

Notes
: Not as good of an opener as I expected.

Paul Heyman and Luther Reigns
are going over strategy when
Edge
barges through the door. Heyman sees this as a nuisance as Edge just stands, staring, with a grin on his face. Paul asks him what the hell he wants, when Edge just gets in the face of Luther Reigns and tells him that he hopes that only one word rings in his head from now until Survivor Series over and over again.....
Gore! Gore! Gore! Gore!
And with this, Reigns gets angry and Edge laughs as he walks out of the office.

RATING:
78 (B)

Notes
: None.

Elsewhere in the back,
Rey Mysterio
is talking with
Billy Kidman
and
Torrie Wilson
when, out of nowhere, he's surprised by
Chavo Guerrero
. Kidman and Mysterio start to square up for a fight with Rey's longtime rival when Chavito disarms them, saying that he's not here for a fight. He wants them to know that he's interested in burying the hatchet and joining the cause against Team Dupree, and to prove it, he's going to beat Rene's team member Matt Hardy for the TV Title tonight. Nothing will embarrass Dupree more than to see a 'lowly cruiserweight' beat one of his hand-picked guys and
prove
that their size doesn't mean they're weak. This isn't just about them - Chavo says - this is an affront to their family and everything that they've worked for. Chavo says he doesn't need an answer right now, but he'll show them that he's changed his ways.

Chavo Guerrero
vs.
Matt Hardy ©

This was a pretty solid match, if a short one. Guerrero caught Hardy on his heels for much of the time, and after about six minutes the Television Champion grabbed his belt from ringside and took the high road out for a count-out title defense, to Chavo's chagrin.

RATING:
62 © / 70 (C+)

A graphic and commentary remind us that
Brock Lesnar
will go one-on-one with a member of Team Eddie tonight, but who will it be?

In the back,
Bryan Lloyd, Eddie Guerrero, and Edge
are getting
Rhyno
hyped up for his match. They make it quite clear that they want him on their Survivor Series team because he'll wreak havoc on the entirety of Team Heyman, but they can't do that unless he beats Luther Reigns. The three men do an effective job of pumping up Rhyno, who seems ready to win back his contract later on tonight!

The Colons
vs.
Lords of the Ring

The hotshot, upstart Colons put up a good fight here, but were systematically picked apart by their veteran counterparts, and the Haas of Pain to Eddie finished this one.

A quick recap shows us how, earlier this year, General Manager
Paul Heyman
terminated the contract of
Rhyno
and how this upcoming match came to be - Rhyno fights for his job next!

Rhyno
vs.
Luther Reigns

This match was a hard-hitting affair where Reigns dominated for a good portion of the match. He couldn't put Rhyno away, and after a few near falls, the Lords of the Ring, Kurt Angle, and Paul Heyman made their way down to ringside. "The Man Beast" put together a rally, but Haas and Storm stood on either side of the ring, getting up on the apron for a potential attack. All of a sudden, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, and Bryan Lloyd hit the ring, running off the potential interference with a brawl around the outside! Brock Lesnar came out to the top of the ramp, but didn't help his Survivor Series team as the chaos allowed Rhyno to connect with the Gore and pick up a win! Rhyno's a member of SmackDown once again!

The crowd pops heavily as the brawl continues! With Rhyno's music playing, he joins the fray as Team Eddie runs off Team Heyman - with a grin on Brock Lesnar's face! He stares down Rhyno as the four members of Guerrero's team stand tall!

RATING:
73 (B-) / 59 © / 80 (B)

Notes
: So the match sucked, but hey we've got some heat for this feud at least!

In the back,
Rene Dupree
stands with
Mark Jindrak, Mark Henry, and Matt Hardy
as they talk about crushing the cruiserweights. Chavo Guerrero's made himself enemies he doesn't want to have, and when they reveal their final team member next week, the cruiserweights are going to fall at the knees of King Dupree,
your
next United States Champion.

John Cena ©
vs.
Rene Dupree

These two youngsters locked up here and put on a match that some veterans would be proud to have. The United States Champion looked defeated at certain points, but didn't quite give up. With Dupree in control, Rey Mysterio's music hits! While he waits for him to make his entrance, Dupree turns around - F-U! Cena makes the cover for a successful title defense!

After a quick commercial break, Cole and Tazz show us footage of what happened while we were away -
JBL
and his
Cabinet
laid a vicious beatdown on John Cena in the back! The former United States Champion barked orders as Jordan, Porter and Burke slammed Cena through a table in the catering area! They hit the road as Simmons and Londrick enter the fray, but they're too late as the damage his been done to "The Doctor of Thuganomics!"

Josh Mathews gets a word with
Brock Lesnar
, and he flat out tells Josh that he doesn't give a damn who his opponent is tonight because he's Brock F'n Lesnar. He's gonna do what he's done to Goldberg...Hogan...The Rock, and all the rest - he's gonna
crush
the man who walks down that aisle.

The Undertaker
vs.
Brock Lesnar

Eddie Guerrero came out to let Lesnar know that no, it wasn't "Latino Heat" he'd be facing, but the fifth member of his team...
The Undertaker
! The crowd popped heavy for the Deadman as he and Lesnar put on a great TV main event. Both men matched each other in strength as well as in the speed department, two rare breeds of speed and size that clashed together as fierce rivals. When things started to go south for Brock, Team Heyman hit the ring and overwhelmed The Undertaker for a disqualification!

With a five-on-one assault occurring, it's only a matter of time before
Team Eddie
hits the ring in response! Guerrero, Edge, Lloyd, and Rhyno come to the aid of their teammate as a melee ensues around the ring! Team Heyman ends up being forced to retreat as the SmackDown general manager is livid! The Undertaker's music plays as the five men rally together in the ring and we fade out!

RATING:
74 (B-) / 89 (A) / 99 (A*)

Notes
: Pretty good main event, and it's good to see Reigns/Rhyno/Lloyd in highly rated angles.

OVERALL SHOW RATING:

Notes
: We've gotten very good reviews for this one backed by a strong main event.

Looks like the DQ/count-out threw you guys off here, and some of you were on the right track but didn't quite nail it down. Smasher was the only one to correctly predict The Undertaker and got an extra point. Beejus I actually toyed with that idea for Rhyno but I didn't think I could make it work well enough so I went with the more straightforward victory, but props to you for identifying my thought process
:p
