Wait, I just realized that I was in so much of a hurry to post the show that I neglected to put the ratings in for the main event/whole show.

Michaels/Kane got a 98! And that led to the whole show getting a 90, which raised our pop in 22 regions. Michaels and Kane were told they were awesome, and The Rock was thanked for a great performance in his match/putting over Orton.

That was one hell of a Survivor Series. Barring what I think are likely matches between HHH/Orton and Trish/Lita (with Mickie potentially thrown in), I'm not sure where you're heading at Mania. I think that's a good thing in this instance; you're managing to be unpredictable without being illogical.

I didn't think the show suffered one bit from not being done in FictionPlus.

Comments on Previous Show: Survivor Series was off tha' hook, Maggle! Really surprised there were no turns.

TazzBL is a nightmare to think about as a commentator

Yeah, I kind of wanted to throw one in just for the sake of doing so, but I didn't think that it really could've worked. I've got a lot of concrete plans moving forward and I figured there were enough DQs/count-outs/interferences that a turn wasn't really necessary. Whoever mentioned Jericho turning, that would've been an intriguing possibility but it doesn't quite fit into my plans.

Oh, also I threw you the bonus points for Crazy and Psychosis since it was my fault that you knew about them based on the PM :p

Comments on Previous Show: AWESOME to see HBK-Kane rated so high! Great SvS, buddy!

I was incredibly pleased with the main event, obviously. It made this long Michaels/Kane build completely worth it; since they already fought at Vengeance I wasn't sure that it was going to come through as well as it did (storyline-wise, in-game I figured it would be pretty good). Glad you liked it!

Awesome, I'm glad it came off well because your Survivor Series was the main one I used as inspiration :D ... I'd never booked or written one before this in TEW, so I had no clue really how to approach it without making it a pain to read, and I hope it wasn't too much of a headache for anyone.

On the 'Mania comment: That's a good thing in my eyes, because I have 6 or 7 matches penciled in for WM21 at the moment (including the Rumble winner and his chosen champion), and almost all of them have been hinted at or their storylines are in the making, so it's good that people haven't completely caught on yet. I already pretty much know who's getting drafted where in the lottery next year as well, plus some more post-Mania plans are in the works too. This diary has a lot more life left in it as far as my ideas are concerned, barring real life or a TEW problem getting in the way. :)

Just so everyone knows, I've already finished writing most of RAW, and it will be up tomorrow so if you want to get some predictions or comments in, now's your chance! Jim Ross, who has been a high-ranking consultant in my writing process backstage, says that "business is about to pick up" regarding my storylines heading into 2005, so you'd better stay tuned :D

Maven vs. Rico

Comment: Maven won Tough Enough and is still young. Rico is like...40 and won't do much.

Non-Title Match

RVD and Benjamin vs. The Aristocracy

Comment: A nice non-title win to establish them as the challengers for Armageddon.

Nidia vs. Trish Stratus w/Tyson Rude

Comment: Easiest pick of the night.

The Dudley Boyz vs. La Resistance

Comment: Their encounters are always a mystery, but I'll go with the Dudleyz.

#1 Contender's Triple Threat Match

Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Christian w/Trish Stratus and Tyson Rude

Comment: Can go either way, but I'll go with Christian cheating to win.

Comments on Previous Show: A great Survivor Series that managed to have me on the edge of my seat. It kept your path to Mania unpredictable like TFC pointed out. I was really surprised that Randy Orton managed to survive and have Evolution winning. I guess that you are building him up to a rematch with Taker at Mania. The dissention does continue and I can't wait to see what happens. Keep up the good work.

WWE RAW
Monday, Week 3, November 2004

Jerry "The King" Lawler and "Good Ol' JR" welcome the television audience to Monday Night RAW! They speak about the fallout from Survivor Series, saying that we'll hear from the World Heavyweight Champion later on tonight and that we'll also find out who his new #1 contender is in a Triple Threat main event between Chris Jericho, Christian, and Chris Benoit!

Maven
vs.
Rico

As the bell rang and the competitors locked up, Jim Ross hyped the fact that Maven cut a promo on Heat saying that he is disappointed in himself and wanted to make a greater impact here on RAW than he has thus far. A pretty boring and bad match ensued, but luckily for those in attendance, fire exploded from the stage as
Kane
made his way out to the ring! He stepped inside of it and delivered a big boot to Maven, followed by a Chokeslam to Rico and another Chokeslam to Maven! The match was thrown out as Kane stood in the ring over his victims.

Kane gets a microphone moments later, sending a message to the locker room that he's going on a ceaseless path of annihilation as he failed in his mission to end Shawn Michaels. Kane says that he is going to be the one to finish him, and that he's going to obliterate anyone that stands in his way to do so.

RATING:
35 (E+) / 77 (B)

Notes
: Thank God for Kane.

RVD and Benjamin
vs.
The Aristocracy

This match could have gone a little better, with the technical prowess of Regal and his pupil going up against the speed and creativity of the World Tag Team Champions. Nonetheless, it served to further a storyline as Regal rolled up Benjamin for a surprising victory, possibly earning his team a title shot in the future.

"Sexy Boy" hits and
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels
exits the backstage area to a nice pop from the crowd! The World Heavyweight Champion gloats all the way down to the ring as he gets inside of it and poses. He then grabs a microphone.

Shawn talks about how going into Survivor Series, he had old buddies from childhood calling him, he had his family worried about him, and he had his back surgeon desperately trying to dissuade him from entering that match against Kane. He acknowledges that it was definitely a war, but other than some bumps and bruises, he was able to come out on the other side of his match against 'the Boogeyman of the WWE'
still
World...Heavyweight...Champion!

He soaks in the crowd's cheers for a moment, before continuing. He says that tonight, three great wrestlers will earn a chance to face him for the title and he'll definitely be in the back watching that match intently. As he continues, he's interrupted by "Line in the Sand," as
Randy Orton
receives heat from the crowd for interrupting Michaels' speech.

Orton gets into the ring and is a bit confused. Randy says that he had a pretty successful night at Survivor Series as well. He says that for the second year in a row, he was the sole survivor of his team, and he even beat two of the guys in the main event tonight. Orton says that he's gotten screwed out of a title shot because of this chaos going on behind the scenes with McMahon/Austin/Bischoff, and instead he's come out here to formally challenge Shawn Michaels for the World Title.

Michaels responds by telling him that he has no ability to choose who he faces for the title, but he has no problem beating Orton since, accusing Orton of memory loss, he already did at Taboo Tuesday! He respected Orton from that point until right now because you don't interrupt "The Heartbreak Kid." He tells Orton that Jericho and Benoit are two of the most well-traveled and technically sound wrestlers in this business, and that Randy Orton could learn a thing or two by taking the silver spoon out of his mouth and earning his keep here in the WWE! Orton looks angry as Michaels leaves him on a note, saying that he's got to take what's his or else he's going to amount to absolutely nothing in this business.

RATING:
80 (B)

Notes
: I think that opening match sort of screwed over the crowd in the first hour, Michaels and Orton should've gotten a better reaction than they did.

After a quick commercial break, another vignette airs for
"The Masterpiece."
It's very similar to the previous one, with his statuesque physique being compared to Greek and Roman sculptures as he poses in what looks like a display room. The main difference in this new vignette is that the man himself speaks. He introduces himself as "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters, and says that he is coming to RAW next week to see if anyone can break the Masterlock.

RATING:
35 (E+)

Notes

In the back, Todd Grisham is standing by with
The Hurricane and Rosey
. The Hurricane, using his exaggerated comic book hero gestures, insinuates that there's been evil afoot on RAW lately. He says that evil is everywhere, and it's his and Rosey's job to extinguish it, but this is an especially villainous individual because he's tainting a great and prestigious championship in the WWE. He calls out Johnny Nitro, saying that if he has the guts to put his Intercontinental Title on the line against The Hurricane, well then he'll have no problem ridding RAW of this evildoer!

RATING:
67 (C+)

Notes
: Stand back, Nitro?

Nidia
vs.
Trish Stratus w/Tyson Rude

Fresh off a nice win against Mickie James, Trish eviscerated Nidia for the second week in a row, continuing her recent dominance.

Tyson Rude hands Trish a mic after the match and Stratus sends another message to the Women's Champion. She says that Lita can only run and hide for so long. Trish finished off Lita's little buddy last night, and did so much damage that Mickie James isn't even here tonight. Trish ends her message by saying whether it's tonight, next week, or in six months, Lita's going to put the belt on the line against Trish and she's going to feel the kiss of death!

RATING:
59 © / 76 (B-)

In the locker room of
Evolution
, Triple H is talking to Stephanie McMahon about what happened last night at Survivor Series. She said she did her best to help, and she really wanted to make sure that her husband looked great out there. Triple H says she failed and that she made him look like trash instead! He berates her a bit until she starts to cry. An awkward silence ensues and then she starts to open up, talking about how hard of a toll her parents' divorce has taken on her; she says that her dad has been in better spirits since he came back to the WWE and all she wanted to do was spend more time with her husband to try and increase her morale as well. She says that almost 40 years of marriage ending is breaking her heart because it's all she's ever known as their child, and she and Shane both have had trouble dealing with their squabbling parents. Mom and Dad won't even be in the same room with one another because they can't stand each other. She took a look at her own marriage. She just wanted to help, she just wanted to be there for "Paul" so they don't end up like Vince and Linda, and now it's happening.

After this whole rant, Triple H clearly feels like an insensitive bastard. He takes a deep breath and puts his arms around his wife. He tells her that he's sorry and he didn't mean to hurt her. If he knew the degree of her feelings from the start, he'd have been much more accepting of everything because she's his wife and he loves her. Hunter tells her he's going to call her a limo. He needs to stick around to talk to Vince, but he's going to send her back to the hotel and that he'll be there as soon as he can. He tells Randy and Batista (who've been sitting on the other end of the locker room) to escort his wife to the limo in the parking lot, and he thanks them for doing so.

RATING:
80 (B)

Notes
: Really? Triple H an insensitive bastard? No way.

____________________________________________

We go back to ringside, where Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler are talking about the seriousness of how Stephanie is feeling, and how even Triple H seems to have a bit of a heart sometimes. All of a sudden,
Kane
enters the frame from behind them, grabbing Lawler by the throat! Jim Ross tells Kane to put him down and calls him all types of despicable adjectives as Kane drags the legend down the ramp by his collar! "The Big Red Machine" screams as JR follows them down the ramp, calling for security. Kane throws officials off of his arms like flies and throws Lawler into the ring, hitting "The King" with a thunderous Chokeslam! After a Tombstone Piledriver, Kane finally leaves, but not before laughing as he admires his handiwork!

After this segment, "The Coach" replaces Lawler on commentary, much to the chagrin of Jim Ross.

RATING:
83 (B+)

Notes
: (Remember, the announce table is near the stage rather than where it is on TV today. I tried to find a picture for reference but couldn't.)

The Dudley Boyz
vs.
La Resistance

With both teams coming up short in the Tag Team Turmoil match last night, one of them looked to get a leg up on the other to climb one step closer to another World Tag Team Title match. These teams seemingly know how to pull the best out of each other at this point, as it was a super hard-hitting affair which saw The Dudleyz pull a victory from the jaws of defeat. With Grenier looking to put Bubba Ray through a table and the referee unconscious, D-Von was able to shove him out of the way as the two hit Conway with a 3-D through the table to end a sizzling hot tag team matchup!

After the match, The Dudleyz are shown walking backstage, where they encounter
The Widow Makers
. The teams share a tense look as Stamboli and O'Haire smirk before the Dudleyz walk on by.

RATING:
90 (A) / 74 (B-)

Notes
: Wow, a 90 for this match?!

____________________________________________

As we head back to ringside, JR and Coachman are interrupted by a call from the back, and JR sends us to one of the camera men backstage.

Rushing through the backstage area is
Triple H
as a camera man follows him down the halls. He stops near the parking lot where he sees his wife
Stephanie
knocked unconscious on the ground! To her left and right,
Randy Orton
and
Batista
have also been taken out! Triple H tries to wake Stephanie as he angrily calls for medical attention! He holds her and tries to revive her as we head back to ringside where JR wonders aloud just who attacked the "Billion Dollar Princess"?

RATING:
86 (B+)

Notes
: Whodunnit?

#1 Contender's Triple Threat Match

Chris Benoit
vs.
Chris Jericho
vs.
Christian w/Trish Stratus and Tyson Rude

The commentary team started this one off talking about the apparent attack on Stephanie McMahon, but these three competitors wouldn't allow their performance to be overshadowed. All three know each other quite well in this all-Canadian main event. Early on, Rude and Jericho got into it and Y2J knocked him off the apron with a springboard dropkick! Because of this exchange, referee Chad Patton tossed Rude and Trish from ringside! They were livid as they were forced to walk to the back!

Despite this, the commentary team reminded us that Triple Threat matches are inherently under no-DQ rules, which Christian found ways to exploit. He used chokes, eye rakes, and a low blow to Benoit to keep up with his technically superior opponents. He even tried to use the Money in the Bank briefcase, but Benoit ducked and hit a series of German Suplexes, sending the case flying near the corner! After Jericho attacked and then locked in the Walls on his former tag team partner (Christian, not Benoit), "The Rabid Wolverine" got up and removed him from the hold, locking in the Crippler Crossface on Y2J! "Captain Charisma" was able to break up the hold by crawling to the corner, picking up the case, and blasting Benoit in the head with it! He rolled Benoit over, put his feet on the ropes, and Jericho was too late for the save -- Christian wins the #1 contendership!

Trish and Rude run back down to the ring as Christian smirks, still selling the back/leg pain from the Walls of Jericho. Rude helps him to his feet as Trish raises his hand! The announcers note that Christian still has the Money in the Bank briefcase as well as the #1 contendership for Shawn Michaels' World Heavyweight Title - that will surely add an extra wrinkle to this rivalry!

RATING:
94 (A) / 76 (B-)

Notes
: None.
