THE XCW WRESTLING REVOLUTION RETURNS!

A TEW 2013 DIARY BY MATT SHANNON

This will be an August 2013 diary using Fleisch's Real World Chronicles data. Most of the edits suggested in his thread by others(such as missing teams, stat/pop adjustments, etc) have been made myself. I've left the stats and pops for the Texas workers as is since Fleisch felt they were balanced enough, and those will be the workers I'm going to use. I've added some Neutral chemistries myself just so I don't get a bunch of Awful or Poor Chemistry notes. I have added XCW Wrestling to the data and will be working on their contracts and title histories shortly. I was actually able to find them on cagematch.net, so that will be a godsend. And as the title suggests, I will be playing as XCW. I'll be posting the story posts here shortly. Also, since XCW fans didn't really care about a worker's gimmick(unless it was so outlandish that they had to have fun with it and heckle them), I will be playing with Gimmick Effects turned off. It's my dynasty, after all!

It was just another day in the life of Matt Shannon. Little did he know that this day would change his life forever. His cell phone buzzes, telling him he's got a new text message. He opens his phone up, and the text is from Nite Davis:

Meet me at the new XCW Arena in Denton, Texas.

New XCW Arena? Whatever was Nite talking about? Shannon was about to find out as he texted him back, asking for directions. After receiving directions, Shannon got into his car and made his way up to the new facility. He stepped out of his car and greeting him outside the building were none other than Nite Davis and... Shawn Hernandez?!

Shannon smiled and shook his head as he approached the big man, shaking hands and the two greeting each other with a bro hug. Shannon then shook hands with Nite.

Well, you probably know that I opened up the XCW Wrestling Institute to train the next generation of wrestlers. And as you know, XCW has put on the occasional spot show here and there. After putting on these shows, I want to see it succeed once again, but I don't want to have to deal with all the day to day stresses of booking a wrestling show. So I'm going to keep running the XCW Wrestling Institute, and I will be the money man behind XCW, but I would like you to be calling all the shots. Basically you're the head booker, but I won't be forcing you to meet any goals to keep your job, nor will I block you from signing someone you think would be a benefit to the roster.

Yeah, just like that. They want to spend all their money trying to cross promote with the MMA crowd and signing MMA fighters past their prime, and to be honest, I don't feel like they've really got much for me anyway.

Well, they've never really had much for you since you've been there. It's almost as if when they would put the Tag Titles on you, it's as if they were saying "Oh yeah, we just want to remind you that we think you're great." Well I can promise you that you will be more of an integral part of my version of XCW.

That's why I was more than happy to jump the gun and get with Nite when he told me he was going to offer you the chance to run XCW, because I know you've got a creative mind for the wrestling business. It's just never really been tapped into.

Shannon, Hernandez and Nite continued their conversation, making plans for who was going to be part of the roster, what to do about titles, and all that jazz.</div>

Question for the masses. For my own personal games, I use the sophie cheat code for max User Talents. However, this is a diary, so I want to know if I should play without it, or would the peeps be cool if I were to decide to use it?

Since no one has had an opinion one way or the other, I'll play without the sophie code. If down the road people don't have a problem with it, I can come up with a storyline that would explain how it would work out to make it seem plausible. The other cheat codes, I'm definitely not using. I'm going to work my way up to either Motivational Speeches or Psycho Sermons. Oh, and new entry coming soon.

Word has it that XCW wanted to negotiate with MavTV and BiteTV, their former television homes in the US and Canada respectively from 2006-2008, but with the company's popularity having gone down since not being seen in other areas for quite some time, neither network is willing to talk to XCW just yet. There are also rumors that XCW may try to negotiate with KTXA 21, but those are just rumors right now.</div></div></blockquote> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36567" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;">NXT has apparently decided to forgo approval from WWE and has made an offer to XCW manager Lance Romance. Since it is just a PPA offer, Lance would still be able to work for XCW. 2CW have also made an offer to Lance, but word has it that he's not seriously considering that offer. 2CW have also reached out to Barbi Hayden with an offer that she is reportedly seriously considering. Again, it is a PPA deal, so she would still be able to work XCW shows.</div></div></blockquote>

Everything looks good to me!

Only real complaints/things I noticed....

"Ken Carson" hasn't gone by that since early last year. He uses the name "Houston Carson" now. He wanted to distance himself from the Ken and Barbi schtick. Also that cut has to be from way early in his career as he's put on some good size/has a different hair style now

Other than that nothing huge noticed. Amazing roster. Can't wait for your first show!

Have been toying with opening my own Texas promotion dynasty but am probably to lazy to edit the database. Plus I run my own monthly show in Austin IRL haha

XCW President and Head Booker, Matt Shannon, is said to be pleased to be able to work out such deals with other wrestling promotions. This also confirms that CHIKARA "shutting their doors" was a work as Mike Quackenbush decided to take a break to recharge his batteries, while allowing CHIKARA talent to work elsewhere.
