WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from American Sports Center (CA), 3,500 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Kelly Kelly versus Alicia Fox

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Alicia Fox defeated Kelly Kelly in 17:50 by pinfall with a Watch Yo Face. Unfortunately this Divas match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved as despite both Alicia and Kelly Kelly being former WWE Divas Champions and both making regular appearances on Friday Night SmackDown, the WWE Universe do not seem to be particularly interested in either Diva. Alicia picks up the all-important victory here.

Match Rating: E

Friday Night SmackDown kicks off with the WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler making his way to the ring. Ziggler receives a mixed reaction from the WWE Universe in attendance as he retrieves a microphone from the ringside area. Ziggler says that with there now only being one WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Brock Lesnar deciding to spend all of his time on Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown has now become Ziggler’s show. Ziggler says that for the past two weeks on SmackDown he has defeated both Jimmy and Jey Uso to retain his Intercontinental title and that the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle has once again put Ziggler in tonight’s main event as he will put his title on the line against Ryback. Ziggler says that Ryback’s only been back for a few weeks after going back to NXT to try to learn how to wrestle and that a few victories over ham and eggers like Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow does not make Ryback worthy of a title shot. Ziggler says that he will run rings around Ryback tonight on the way to retaining his Intercontinental title. Ryback then comes to the ring and takes a microphone of his own. Ryback says that tonight he will feast on Ziggler and win the Intercontinental title, and will then go on to win the 30 Man Royal Rumble match later this month. Ziggler tells Ryback that he’s trying to make a name off of the wrong Superstar and that Ryback hasn’t got the appetite for what Ziggler has to give.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

Non-Title: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar versus Fatsuhiko Nakajima

The main event of tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW will see the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar take on the Japanese Superstar Fatsuhiko Nakajima in a non-title match. This Sunday at the Royal Rumble Brock Lesnar will put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Kane and tonight is Lesnar’s last opportunity to send a message to Kane before they collide with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line this Sunday. An all-important victory for Fatsuhiko Nakajima, on the other hand, would be considered one of the biggest upsets in Monday Night RAW history. Nakajima has been teaming up with Sami Zayn as of late and the pair are known to the WWE Universe as “International Explosion”, but Nakajima has a huge test ahead of him in the form of Brock Lesnar tonight. Lesnar has been telling the WWE Universe in recent weeks that he will continue to run through all of the opposition that the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero puts in front of him and Lesnar will spare no mercy against Nakajima tonight.

WWE United States Championship: Sheamus © versus Alexander Rusev versus Bray Wyatt

Also tonight on Monday Night RAW the WWE United States Championship will be on the line as Sheamus will put his title on the line in a Triple Threat match against both Alexander Rusev as well as Bray Wyatt. Tonight will be the third week in a row that the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero has forced Sheamus to put his US title on the line and tonight could see another title end up in the hands of the Wyatt Family after Luke Harper became the new Intercontinental Champion this past week on Friday Night SmackDown.

Kane and Dean Ambrose versus Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre

This Sunday at the Royal Rumble Kane will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but before then Kane will team up with Dean Ambrose to take on two-thirds of the three man band known as 3MB in Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre. The third member of 3MB, Jinder Mahal, will likely not be too far from proceedings in this one as Kane and Ambrose look to build momentum heading into the Royal Rumble this Sunday.

Chris Jericho versus John Cena

Two former World Champions will go head to head tonight on Monday Night RAW as Chris Jericho will take on John Cena just days before Chris Jericho enters the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Cena still does not have a place confirmed in the Royal Rumble match following his falling out with Vickie Guerrero.

CM Punk versus Scott Dawson

CM Punk will take on Scott Dawson tonight on Monday Night RAW before Punk enters the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Tonight will be Dawson’s second appearance on RAW after he lost to Kane last November.

WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee and The Bella Twins versus Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma

Finally, a huge six-Diva tag tea match will take place tonight on Monday Night RAW as the WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee will team up with both Brie Bella and Nikki Bella, the Bella Twins, to take on the team of Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma. This Sunday at the Royal Rumble AJ Lee will put her Divas Championship on the line against Paige, who this past week on Friday Night SmackDown got another victory over Christina Von Eerie. <strong>WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from McGee Park Convention Center (NM), 5,707 in Attendance)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: Kelly Kelly versus Layla</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Layla defeated Kelly Kelly in 18:11 by pinfall with a Lay-Out. Unfortunately this match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved as despite both Kelly Kelly and Layla being former WWE Divas Champions neither of them has been that relevant as of late although they have both competed in several matches on Friday Night SmackDown and WWE Superstars over the past few months. Layla picks up the all-important victory here.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: The Uso’s versus Primo and Epico</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Uso's defeated Primo & Epico in 18:01 when Jey Uso defeated Primo by pinfall with an Alley-Us. The small man dressed as a bull, El Torito, once again accompanied the former WWE Tag Team Champions Primo and Epico to the ring for this tag team match against Jimmy and Jey Uso. Despite offering plenty of cheerleading as well as gyrating at ringside, El Torito was unable to inspire Primo and Epico to victory as Jey got the fin for his team here.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Friday Night SmackDown kicks off with Paul Heyman making his way to the ring. Heyman receives a tirade of boos and jeers from the WWE Universe in attendance as he takes a microphone from the ringside area and says that unfortunately he has to confirm what was reported earlier this week on WWE.com and WWE Superstars, that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and his client, Brock Lesnar suffered an injury this past week on Monday Night RAW and has been forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Heyman says that his client Brock Lesnar will come back stronger and more destructive than ever but that after meetings held earlier this week between the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be decided tonight. Heyman then introduces the man that he says will win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tonight, Curtis Axel. Heyman’s other client Curtis Axel then joins Heyman in the ring. Heyman reiterates that Axel is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and that tonight he will defeat both Big E Langston and the Great Khali in the Triple Threat match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and will then go on to defend the title against Kane this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Heyman says that Curtis Axel is the future of the WWE and that tonight, the future will arrive.</em></p><p>
